The staff were excellent and very attentive. Overall it was a nice stay with good food and a lovely cooked breakfast at a reasonable price.

The only very minor thing was the shower head; if you want hot water you have to have it on quite powerfully, but then the water comes out at a near 90 degree angle and we couldn’t move the head to angle it down. It goes past the shower screen and can make the floor wet. Not sure if it was just our room though.

Rooms were clean, staff excellent, friendly and helpful. Overall great.
Minor points: prefer a toilet seat lid, and a larger sink, somewhere near the sink to put things on. It was an accessible room, but it does not need an NHS poster about cleaning hands for a 'patient' on the bathroom door, (room 1) also sink cracked in room 1. TV very small in room 1, much more acceptable in room 30.

Lovely location, peaceful atmosphere. Very friendly staff. Rooms were comfortable had all you needed for your stay. Lovely big bath towels!
Breakfast was ok, could improve, scrambled eggs not good being kept warm, not much choice on the continental side.
We didn’t use the bar but was told we could take drinks and food to the room if wanted.
Would definitely stay here again.

A nice hotel right by the entrance to Wookie Hole centre, similar to a Premier Inn standard. Restaurant food was nice in the evening and not badly priced give captive location, and breakfast buffet was a very good standard and replenished regularly. Whilst there was some theming for Halloween, there was nothing special going on for the kids during the evening which was a disappointment, and only one house in the village offering trick or treating - Thank you, you made my boys evening, and saved my life! Also, the green emergency light by the bedroom door was immensely annoying, and we found it hard to get to sleep 😟. Overall though a nice convenient stop during our halfterm tours, and Wookey Hole was brilliant for a 5 / 6 hour visit - something for everyone big and small, felt family run / friendly.

A good hotel, very pleasant staff. Our room was large with plenty of storage space although quite basic. It was very clean and serviced daily. Despite the close proximity to the caves etc, its a very quiet hotel. Not a lot in the area apart from the Wookey Hole complex but just 10 mins to Wells. Would recommend, especially for families.

We had a wonderful stay at The Wookey Hole hotel, we went for Halloween and the place and staff did not disappoint! All staff were friendly and gave a warm welcome to the hotel. Seeing the costumes they were dressed in was excellent. The room was comfortable and it was great to have the ensuite. Thank you for a great visit, we will come again!

Shower head dirty, cheap,unweighted shower curtain. Shaverpointlight inoperative sheet had something brown stuck to it. Breakfast was rubbish. Had to chase for bacon plates,eggs,butter and tea cups. The sausages were rubbery and everything was cold. Staff were inattentive.

The large family rooms are spacious and were very good value at the time of year we visited (early October). Very clean bedroom and bathroom and the beds were comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. An ideal location for visiting Wells without paying the higher rates in Wells. Taxis are relatively easy to get to and from the hotel and into Wells. The only disappointment was having to book a time slot for breakfast which I felt was a bit restrictive especially as we checked in a bit later than possible and found available times were either very early or late. We turned up a bit early and there were plenty of empty tables so I’m not sure why this is necessary. Overall a nice one night stay and a super 2 days in Wells.

Did not eat at restaurant as were told we couldn't book between 6:30 - 8pm as a large party were in.
Bed was very hard and made my back ache.
Headboard on bed was very dusty. Spiders in the bathroom. Also noises all night long from the bathroom/toilet and people in other rooms, dogs barking in the corridor.
Location of hotel is in the middle of nowhere.
It was okay for 1 night but i wouldn't stay here again.

Staff were great ,willing and helpful , Even charged my phone overnight because i forgot charger , only downside was pillows were too hard for my liking and threw them on the floor but alround thumbs up

We booked a room and breakfast for a 1 night stay after a flight from Bristol Airport. We emailed in advance to organise a cot being provided in the room. On arrival at around 3.30am with a sleeping baby, no cot was provided. Night porter was friendly and apologetic and fetched a travel cot for me to build myself, which wasnt a problem but woke the baby. So we paid for 30 minutes sleep, less than 3 hours in the building and no breakfast with a 6.30am checkout. Rooms did look clean & tidy but organisation was poor.

Room clean and comfortable, breakfast poor, scrambled eggs made with powder mix was awful and tasteless and tinned mushrooms watery, not nice at all. Beans ok although only warm on 2 days. As a non dairy vegetarian i was left with beans and toast . Toaster did not eject toast, had to use tongues to get it out. Finally hash browns were soaked in fat . My husband did like the yogurt pots. Sadly breakfast spoilt our stay and because of this would not reccommend this hotel.

The room had stains on the carpet. The bathroom door was rotting on the bottom. The bathroom floor was dirty. The menu was very limited as my wife and i are fussy eaters. When you brought a drink from the bar there was nowhere to relax as the restaurant and bar are in the same room. Overall i would possibly not stay there again

Quirky hotel with a ‘witch’s hat’ tower as a nod to the Wookey Hole Witch. Staff were friendly and helpful at all times, whenever anything was needed.

The hotel is surrounded by a huge car park, also used for the Wookey Hole Caves resort, so there is nothing and nowhere for kids to play on outside.

The hotel is in decent condition: the rooms have been given a recent makeover, bedding is clean and comfy and the bathroom was clean. However, there are no complimentary toiletries to use, the rooms feel a little ‘tired’ in terms of fixtures and fittings, the only air is through the small opening from the windows or a small fan and tea/coffee facilities are very basic.

Breakfast was included in the price. Buffet style, constantly refilled, excellent quality of food and staff instantly responded when asked if something was available. Dinner could be booked as well - the menu was a little limited but food was again of good quality.

The only entertainment for families was a very small and limited games room. There was the addition of a free cinema evening twice a week over the summer, which was a nice touch and helped with keeping the littles occupied.

Would recommend if you wanted to visit the resort and explore the local area, but not for longer stays.

This hotel is a little gem and provided us with a perfect stop over on our way to Dorset for a holiday.

We arrived around 7.30pm and the check in process was friendly and efficient. Our room (number 58) was spacious, beautifully decorated and had a lovely balcony plus an extra window, as we were on the corner of the building. The bed was very comfortable.

Although there is an option to eat at the hotel, we chose to explore a little and ate at The Wookey Hole Inn, just a few minutes walk away. We used the hotel bar for a couple of relaxed drinks.
Breakfast was enjoyable, and the highlight for me was the pancake making machine!

The area around the hotel is gorgeous. We were only there overnight but saw numerous families enjoying themselves. It also seemed popular with cyclists passing through the area.

All in all, an excellent stay with friendly and welcoming staff. Would highly recommend!

We received excellent customer service from Walter after receiving the wrong advice from Hotels.com.
The overall stay was pleasant and a perfect situation to visit Wookey hole with the children.
However, I did feel that the breakfast offering was very poor with not a piece of fruit in sight. It could’ve created more for a child’s breakfast also.

My big complaint was the breakfast. You do have to pay extra and it was way overpriced for the lack luster quality. There was very little variety and what was provided was stale.

The hotel was clean, only downside is lots of flies in the restaurant area around the windows and in our room the paintwork was a bit shoddy. Tea and coffee was filled back up daily. Reception staff were friendly enough, as restaurant staff. Did witness one woman in particular who was bringing food out drop food on 3 guests and also some on the floor .
We hadn't planned to go in the caves initially, as the hotel was a base more so for us, but we did in the end and they were good..would have been nice to have done an add on ticket at a reduced price as we were staying in the hotel though..i know you can do this whilst booking, but would've been nice to still have had it as an option.
All in all avery pleasant place to stay.
