It was great, the rooms where clean, bedding and towels spotless.
Staff could not be more friendly accommodating.
Breakfast was amazing, made to order and a large selection all fresh I might add.
There are a few quirks around the building but this is what I was expecting from a building of this age, would I stay here again, without a doubt, next time we are in the area this will be our go-to place.

My room was excellent, very clean, warm, extremely comfortable bed. Full coffee/tea facilities including extra if required. The bathroom was excellent with plenty of clean towels, flannels, shampoos etc.

Pleasant staff and breakfast. Room was small, badly decorated, cracking in the walls and ceiling, furniture is marked scuffed and stained. Cobwebs on walls and ceilings predominantly in the bathroom. Long black hairs on bathroom floor. Kettle not fit for purpose and had to be swapped, hair dryer not working. Not worth the £160 per night

This is a wonderful place to stay if you are looking for a peaceful, laid back getaway in a countryside location. Adequate parking, including area to the side/behind the building.
The building is gloriously unspoilt and Graham, the host, provided a warm and friendly welcome. The room was stunning and so was the view with easy access to the garden.
We had good WiFi and everything was in perfect working order, including the bath and shower that worked well.
We took a small dog who was also made very welcome and we had one of the best night's sleep in any hotel, we've stayed in.
The breakfast was superb with a menu you can amend to suit, and included a proper vegetarian option, which my wife really enjoyed. We would definitely recommend this place and are planning to return.

The Manor is a lovely countryside get away with charm, history and character which I loved. The hosts are warm and this feels like a home. Our room was large, very comfortable and well decorated. The bathroom was clean, good towels, great hot water and pressure. Breakfast was outstanding. I would recommend the Manor to anyone who loves getting away from the crazy.

Sue and Graham are such wonderful and welcoming hosts. The property has so much character, well maintained and very clean. Other than the weak wifi connection in the room, everything else was excellent. The breakfast in the morning was a really highlight - great options for vegetarians and pescatarian alike. We stayed 2+2 in the big family room. The hosts were lovely, the room spacious and comfortable and the breakfast was excellent (!!). Only downside was the shower - took ages to get to luke warm (never hotter) with poor flow but, in fairness, we didn’t raise it as an issue at the time, so there may have been a fix that we were not aware of. We enjoyed our 3 night stay.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Meare Manor. Sue and Graham, the owners, welcomed us warmly and were most pleasant hosts. Our breakfast was exceptional and delicious; far better than most hotels and guest houses. We would highly recommend Meare Manor if you visit the Glastonbury area.

A very interesting property, nice welcome from the owners, room was pretty - sadly shower was faulty but there was plenty of hot water for a bath. (Owners offered to fix but as we were only there one night we declined). Hadn't appreciated on booking that the restaurant wasn't open for dinner but had a great meal about 15 minutes drive away at The Sheppey. Breakfast was very good, freshly cooked and on hot plates.

Minor issue is that the hotel does not offer evening meals or bar, which is a pitty as it has a nice beer garden. Nearest pub was 2 miles away and closed, the other two were full, which meant a drive into Glasonbury. Unfortunately the road was close and meant a large detour (hopefully this will be re-open soon)

Glastonbury was our aim and we achieved all our plans. Accomodation was great - weather wasn't- so having a nice room to return to and dry off was very helpful. Breakfasts were brilliant, a real treat.

The patio doors in my room did not close at the bottom properly so the smell of smoke from the surrounding houses came into the room in the evening.
It could do with the radio on in the breakfast room in the mornibgs as it was a bit too quiet.
It is obvious they care about their guests - many hotels do not give any soap, face clothes etc - even separate hand wash in the room. Coffee and biscuits and a full spread buffet. Good hidden parking.

Overall a very good experience. A clean and tidy establishment run by a very welcoming couple. The building itself had age/character but our room and the communal areas were in good repair. Our room was large, very well equipped and fitted out with a very large and comfortable bed. The range of items available for breakfast was well thought out and of excellent quality.

Really comfortable guest house, quiet and conveniently located between Glastonbury and Cheddar. The rooms are large and comfortably furnished - this feels more like a hotel than a guest house. What matters is how you sleep and the breakfast. The breakfast was superb with the most delicious homemade marmalade I have ever had, so good I dreamt about it next night. Bed was comfortable and we slept very well. Pretty little garden and dog friendly.

One of the owners of the hotel has coeliac disease, so she is well aware of using separate utensils etc, so I had fantastic breakfast every day with no worries.
Three of us stayed in the Mendip room, which is a nice large room. There was plenty of tea and coffee in the room.
The only slight downside was the shower was only just adequate (not much power, and difficult to control the temperature). Reading other reviews, it seems many guests choose to use the bath instead.
One of the owners of the hotel has coeliac disease, so she is well aware of using separate utensils etc, so I had fantastic breakfast every day with no worries.

Quirky, comfortable and clean. Definitely recommend this as excellent value, with nice little touches such as good coffee in the room and at breakfast, a separate radiator allowing personal control of the temperature and a freshly cooked lovely breakfast.

The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. We came up to see the Starlings at Ham Wall Nature Reserve which was just a few minutes drive away.
The Victorian hotel had lots of character, we used a small lift to move our cases and camera gear to the upstairs room.
The superior room with bath had a 6 foot bed which was very comfortable, a small bath and over bath shower.
Coffee and tea facilities, the hair dryer didn't work And the bath tap was loose but other than that everything was hunky dory. I would rate it 4/5

We had tried to call the hotel, and they said can we book on line, as we wanted to check we were Ok to take dogs. When we arrived at the hotel the door was locked so we pressed the bell, and a guy answered and said he would send his wife down. A man in a white van arrived, the man then shouted if those dogs come near me I will kick them, then he said in future if people ask you your name you don't say reason, you say Mr Reason. Then he said he we never called the hotel, as the owners are away, and I said we did as we wanted to check on the dogs. He said we never had a booking, and would not even look at the paperwork we had. So I said whats the matter, don't you want us to stay, and he said no F@@@ off, got in his van and drove off. This was sometime after 6pm.

Four Star Should Be One Star
I booked this hotel through Hotels .com were its listed as 4 star,unfortunately my stay was anything but 4 star.I got to the hotel at 18;45 on a Friday evening to be met by a member of staff who was just on her way home,I was given my key shown to the room which was fine and I have no complaint,I was then told that no food was available there is a bar but its closed,I was directed to a pub 1.5 miles away where I could get something to eat,Cooked breakfast I was advised was not available but some cereal could be left out and I could help myself.In hindsight I should have asked for a refund but after a long drive navigating the M6/M5 I was just ready to sleep.The followng day I returned after visiting friends to find this 4 star hotel doesnt service the rooms.

Beautiful Country House Hotel near Glastonbury
We much prefer family run establishments to impersonal large chain hotels and this was no exception. We had booked (through Expedia via a Trivago search in the area) very last minute with less than a couple of hours notice but found we were expected and that the room exceeded our expectations. This owner run beautiful manor house is very much a home and very relaxed/unstuffy. The owner/manager was at the reception when we arrived and was very jovial and welcoming.
We had a huge family en suite room with lovely oak four poster. bed /drapes and two single beds plus TV . A tray with a generous selection of coffee/tea/hot chocolate/milk was waiting for us. The couple who own this hotel are welcoming and hospitable. The bedroom and bathroom were a really good size for this part of the world, and both were clean and well-maintained. Breakfast was excellent, served in a light airy room. Although it's located in a small village, the hotel is within a 15-30 minute drive of many of the places people come to Somerset to visit - Glastonbury, Wells, Bath - which makes it a good touring centre: I was able to visit them all in a day.
