Clean room. The pool can be booked for swimming or family sessions, unusual setup but works well. Staff friendly and helpful. Stayed here several times but only this time did I realise the motorway was so close, as it was light when I was leaving. The soundproofing is very good in the hotel.

I’d like to start off by saying the staff here, especially the manager and receptionist are exceptional, I cannot fault them in anyway, they went above and beyond to look after me, they get five stars.

The down side is the hotel is very dated, it doesn’t look like the pictures, the gym is tired, the rooms and bathrooms especially and I didn’t have a good experience with the food. The manager sorted that though. My original room also was very damp smelling, but that was also resolved and I was able to move rooms.

Unfortunately for me this wasn’t the relaxing spa evening I envisioned as a stopping point to my destination.

I wouldn’t recommend and I won’t stay again. Best Western need to invest in this property, it isn’t the staffs fault, you have a very good team here and is a credit to your business, but you need to put money into the property and bring it up to date.

Was okay. The building was archaic and awkward but comfortable enough. Made use of the steam room and also ate supper, both of which were decent experiences. Not sure how much id recommend it but I suppose at the price we paid, it was a reasonable experience.

The hotel is a lovely old building, this does mean its a bit higgledy piggledy but it's still lovely. The staff were lovely and very accommodating. There was a breakfast buffet with hot and cold food available. The restaurant will cook fresh omelettes, poached eggs & vegetarian sausages on request. The standard room itself was clean with towels, toiletries, with tea & coffee facilities available. There is a steam and sauna room available for guests to use for free & they supply the towel. There's also a lovely pool. All this is available to book on the Webbington Hotel website along with any spa treatments which do incur an extra charge but are well worth it. We had a really lovely weekend made all the better by the helpful and courteous staff. We would highly recommend

Getting to the hotel is not for the faint-hearted, especially from the M5, some very narrow roads to navigate.

Room was very clean and was enormous ( in main building and up lots of stairs ). Problem with hot water solved within minutes . Staff generally courteous and efficient . Good to have use of the pool . Evening food was acceptable , not exceptional. Breakfast also average ( poor selection of bread; need to order fried eggs.)

Nice refurbished old hotel with good parking. Check-in staff were excellent. The common areas were well maintained although in a few places paint was showing a little wear in the stairs to the courtyard rooms. The room was an old style room but well repurposed, everything was well cleaned. The bathroom was new and excellently maintained with everything
working well and the water nice and hot. The spa, gym and pool were well equipped, although in an unusual configuration- steam room and sauna are through the gym not near the pool. You have to book for the pool, I think it is restricted to 4 people at a time, due to the size, but large enough for good exercise. The breakfast was nice with a good selection of hot and cold food. Definitely will stay here again.

A good sized hotel situated off a main road but maintaining privacy. My room was in an adjacent building across the courtyard. The room was nice and tidy and the bed gave a great night's sleep. I used the onsite gym facility they have. The equipment was a little old but everything was there to provide a really good workout even with Smooth radio providing a weird soundtrack for a workout. There was a lovely breakfast on hand in the morning and got my day off to a good start. I would definitely look at staying here again.

Had previously stayed before and it was great, so was very disappointed when this time was a very disappointing stay. My room was in the building across the forecourt. Carpet was filthy, remote control for the TV was busted so you could only turn the volume up and not down, room was small and grubby.
If you book a room make sure it's in the main building and not one of their \"cosy\" rooms.

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a fantastic experience. The entire property was exceptionally clean and well-maintained, which made a great first impression. The facilities were excellent – the pool was spotless and relaxing, the gym was well-equipped, and the sauna and steam room were a wonderful bonus for unwinding after a long day.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always greeting guests with a smile and happy to assist with any requests. It’s clear they take pride in their work and genuinely care about guests’ comfort.

Overall, this hotel offers amazing value for money. With the quality of the amenities, cleanliness, and service, it easily rivals more expensive options. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Overnight stay in Room 117, a bit of a maze to find and a lot of stairs, so if you have any disability, don’t pick that one. Room was clean, comfortable bed, good bathroom facility and quiet. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Breakfast and Evening meal had a good selection and was nicely cooked.
Made use of the Indoor Pool, which was very clean and attractive, they use a booking system so it doesn’t get overcrowded.

The bathroom smelt foisty it was an unpleasant smell the bed was two single beds push together the joint of the beds stuck up so it was uncomfortable.we had asked for a double bed not twin beds, don’t say double room if it isn’t a double room! there was a hole in the sheet, the towels looked old off white . Windows did not close properly reception staff not helpfully at all.

Reception staff were lovely, bar staff quite brisk and not very welcoming.
There was a wedding being held there on the second day which meant that the restaurant was unavailable and the bar area was full of wedding guests which made us feel like interlopers.

Constant noise of people in hallway and adjoining rooms. Disturbed both nights of stay by people returning to their rooms. Please read before staying here

There was an Indian wedding being held when I stayed. It was horrendously noisy with the sound travelling right up to Rm3. The guests were very noisy in the corridors and rooms above too.
I'd advise you find out if similar functions are being held before you confirm your stay.
The hotel is quite tired and very old fashioned now.

A few points could do with improvement. Access for disabled and those with poor mobility is terrible. I had trouble with the shower in my room. My room overlooked a courtyard. People used the courtyard for smoking, and as windows were open due to the hot weather, the smell of the smoking inevitably entered my room.

The hotel is in a lovely location but it is a bit dated. We used the pool and the steam room. The pool isn't big so you do have to book a slot. There was only 4 beds by the pool and no chairs which meant people were limited if they wanted to relax by the pool. We ate at the hotel and opted for a meal on the bar rather than the restaurant. The menu was better in the bar and it was served very quickly. I had the homemade chicken and leek pie and my husband had the chicken curry. Both were piping hot and delicious. The staff were all very professional and efficient. We were upgraded and had a lovely room. The hotel does need updating but it didn't spoil our stay

Second time staying for a quick 2 night break away. Breakfast is excellent. The last room in main house was better than the latest one in the annexe. The bed wasn't particularly comfy and we both had backache but what I find too soft someone else will find ok. We love cycling the Strawberry line nearby and the local Thai restaurant in Cheddar is a must!
Pool water is clean and clear... would we stay again...Yes.

Dont let the tired look of this hotel put you off, the staff more than make up for it. From the young lady on the front desk who was really cheerful, happy and very helpful, she immediately made us feel valued and welcome.

We were in Room 111, I wouldn't call it a Superior room, but it was adequate for our needs. The menu was limited and the on duty manager explained this was due to only 1 chef, but the food was very, very good. The views from the veranda are amazing, spoilt only slightly by the traffic on the M5. Loads of parking but the Hotel could really do with a bit of TLC.

The hotel is grand old building, set in established gardens with pleasant views across the Somerset levels. The staff are very pleasant, accomodating and friendly. The bedrooms are clean and comfortable. Thrre is pleanty of free car parking.
The hotel is a large historic building and has a rambling assortment of extentions . There are no lifts meaning you have to carry your cases up and fown numerous stairs in and out of buildings and through numerous doors. Our stay coincided with a wedding with noise which disturbed our sleep time.. The shower in our bathroom barely had any water and for an older person, was dangerous for difficult to access. There was very limited choices in breakfast for vegetarian or gluten-free preferences. The hotel is quite isolated and down a series of very narrow Somerset lanes which might delight some but concern others. Overall we enjoyed our stay and the positives outweighed the negatives.

We were put in the wrong room to start then we swapped rooms we visited the pool area pool was freezing cold and we had to walk through a gym full of people to get to the sauna in our bathers we went for food food was bland poor quality the chicken tasted boiled pasta was bland with way to much cheese on it I asked for beef dripping sauce and was given beef gravy for £70 I would have expected a lot better quality food I could have cooked better myself the mattress in our room was very uncomfortable and u could feel every spring we will not be staying here again I wouldn’t recommend it neither

The 'superior' room was nice but bed was very uncomfortable and shower didn't drain properly. Wifi also poor, dropping out constantly - these are basics that are far better in a Premier Inn costing half the price.

Was keen on using the leisure facilities but the set-up (you have to walk through the busy gym to reach the sauna from the pool) meant we only used once then gave up as not enjoyable. Quite restricted opening times of sauna/steam room and the need to book pool also felt restrictive. Would be unlikely to stay again.

Room had a musty smell about it, was that bad my clothes still stenched of it the next evening. Terrible mattress, although massive bed. Sticky floor the carpets are that old and toilet struggled to flush. Fast speed internet, yes, but only if you are close to reception. I could get it from my room but was intermittent.
Rooms are some distance from bar/reception and sound proofing is terrible.
Evening meal was interesting, but breakfast was a little better. Wasn’t even asked at checkout if I enjoyed my stay.
Staff friendly to be fair, esp at breakfast.
Wouldn’t stay here again. It’s needs a significant overhaul.

A lovely hotel in a great location

The food in the restaurant is superb, the service prompt, friendly and efficient and the rooms comfortable. The hotel is well maintained given the footfall (number of people they can accommodate and the years they have been in business..... Other hotels have something to learn from the Webbington!). Of particular note is the massage I got from Eloise in the Wellbeing Spa. This was the best I have had for years and I have had a lot of massages so recognise an exceptionally skilled masseuse. Thanks Eloise.
