Clean room bed a bit tired not very comfortable ok for a short stay stopped at sand bay several times before first time room had no shower only a bath a bit strange as it looked like bathroom had been recently refurbished, 80s weekend so great entertainment day and night easy access to the beach if you like fresh air all the usual stuff you woul expect small swimming pool , snooker tables, pool and darts . Dining room clean again looks like recently refurbished with new tables and chairs decent food and plenty of it would go again

Shower was not working I spoke to reception and it was fixed before we returned to our room that afternoon well done 👍 Too many dogs in the area we were staying,Dog poo not picked up even after reporting it.
Entertainment was ok, lots of effort was made to entertain us in the bar area.
Food wasn’t bad, be nicer if there was more drinks available.

Cheap and cheerful. Value for money when you think half board and entertainment included. Chalets are tired, although ours had a relatively new bsthroom, and new carpet in bedroom. Bed linen was very clean.

The room was smelly ..not very clean at all .breakfast was ok apart from running out of food .having to wait for more to be brought out ..saturday dinner was a disaster queued for half hour to find only a few things left hardly any salad left ..no deserts left and no more was brought out .sunday was the same ..so we had no food for the weekend . The thing is there are to many greedy people there .who dont care about anyone but themselves.to top it all off .couldnt find a seat in the concert hall .seats with flags and cardigans on to stop people sitting on them .so we seen no entertainement at all .ive never experienced a place like it .will never go back there .unless they can get proper management to sort it out ... not value for money at all .

After 71/2jourmey there was no way to get anything to eat so had to wait untill breakfast. Chalet needs up dating and a good clean as there was cobwebs in windows and bathroom ,tiles coming away from the wall and the sink taps looked as though they had mot been cleaned since thenronze age. Of visitors at one sitting. Food was mainly warm when you were able to get some,but yhe food tasted very tasty and nice to eat. Staff were friendly a d hrounds well looked after. Did not see much entertainment at night ac yhere were no seats available dud to people reservi g them .

On arrival, the receptionist was not very friendly and this was offputting. Once we saw our chalet, we were more than worried - the bathroom, but toilet in particular was really dirty with hairs and ‘leftovers’ from previous guests. We asked for the toilet to be cleaned but this didn’t happen until some hours later when requested again. I scrubbed the Bath out myself! It is a shame that the accommodation generally needs some TLC because there are a lot of positives - great leisure facilities, food and excellent value for money - just let down by some members of staff and properties left to deteriorate.

I was blown away at the value for money. Not only did we get a clean and tidy room, but our breakfast, dinner, use of a swimming pool, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi. Not to mention all of the entertainment for £70, and that was for 2 of us!!!
Other than the lack of a full length mirror and a blind or curtain on the (frosted) window of the bathroom, the room was ideal. On arrival we couldn't shut the bathroom window, but the maintenance man came straight down and sorted it. The pool area was newly decorated and clean. The choice of food at breakfast and dinner was more than enough to suit anyone and the bar prices were reasonable. All of the staff were friendly and polite. I spoke to several holidaymakers and most of them were repeat visitors. I don't have a bad word to say about this place and will definitely be returning.

Really enjoyed my overnight stay in Sandbay. Close to Western Supermare, can hop on a bus and spend time there however there is plenty of entertainment on site also a swimming pool, dart boards and 2x snooker tables. The only downside it's a card only venue but take some cash for vending machine and bingo in the evening cash only.

I don’t know how people can complain for the cost it’s a great bargain.

Just a little bit of TLC would make such a difference, like the bathroom light and window ledge covered in dust , outside cups and newspaper left to get wet .
It’s a beautiful site and I don’t know how they provide everything they do for the price,clean bed linen and towels, choice of lovely food and entertainment, it’s a real bargain.

Very disappointed with our stay Im sorry to say. We arrived on Monday eve and cobwebs hanging from door entrance and bed sheets which hadn’t been cleaned properly greeted us in our rooms. Only one pillow each and we were told £10 to order a second pillow which is ridiculous! After 3 days we desperately needed some fresh towels but when I asked at reception, was told ‘we don’t replace towels until Day 5 and even then you have to order’ Many of the facilities eg swimming pool were out of use. The advert said Wi-Fi was available but this turned out to be not in the chalets themselves. Not good for kids! The staff also need to learn some basic customer service tips too like smiling at the guests and taking an interest. I honestly felt like I was being a nuisance asking for simple things and in the end gave up. I appreciate they have to deal with hundreds of people every week but for some of us ‘the paying customer’ this is our annual holiday and want it to be an experience to remember. Don’t usually leave reviews like this but felt compelled to do so this time.

The old saying is you get what you pay for, the site is very dated but clean no signs of litter.
On the negative side My accommodation wasn't very clean, beds was like sleeping on a sack of potatoes, and very small.
Positive side value for money, food very good, entertainment good , drinks reasonably priced, would I stay again? Yes I would, after speaking to other people who have stayed many times before they gave handy tips toake things more comfortable etc.

We didn't go with high expectations but we were pleasantly surprised the room was basic but clean. The food offered was better than expected with plenty available with roast pork and beef although the beef was tough the pork there was nice even a salad bar breakfast was good everything from toast cereals to full english with as much as you want. Enjoyed the evening entertainment and surprisingly found the bar prices cheaper than many bars at home.

A great music weekend

The room was reasonably clean but the furniture a bit tired looking. They provided a quilt over the mattress which made the bed very comfortable. There was a good choice of food, which was hot, but the queues could be a bit long to serve yourself. The desserts were a bit dry but there was cream to put on it.The staff are pleasant and helpful. The entertainment was very good and made the holiday very enjoyable. The surrounding area is lovely.

The park did not have my booking from Hotels.com, but the receptionist was extremely helpful, and as I had proof of booking, she gave me a room before receiving confirmation from head office.

The room was comfortable and the bed linen and towels were very clean, but the bathroom could have been cleaner, as the toilet seat was grubby, and there were hair clippings around the wash basin.

The food was terrible, with overcooked vegetables and a lot of deep fried food, but there was enough choice to be able to avoid these, amd thenpreice was very good for diiner, bed and breakfast.

I did not use the entertainment as I just needed bed and breakfast in the area, and this fitted the bill adequately

Been going to sand bay for a few years now. But the last few times we have gone been disappointed. Our room smelt damp & unclean. This time we was served our drinks in plastic cups. I had a bottle of wine in a ice bucket. But wasn't allowed a wine glass & there was a hole in the dance floor & toilets smelt really bad. We actually came home a day early. One night was enough. Disappointed.

Bathroom in a terrible state not fit to let out, cemenf floor comming through the lino dust and mess everywhere hope its not let out to someone else. I could not have a shower due to my health problem with my leg infection it was not a good sanitised area most dissapointed was so looking forward to my holiday,I was told by recepton number 45 was next due for redecoration but they are still letting it out not a good way to do business.

Good base for local area. Chalets very old fashioned but okay for price for a short stay. Food fairly grim even though did not expect much for the price. Did not think you could get an english breakfast wrong but they did here had toast and cereal after the first morning. Canteen needs an update badly like an 80s school canteen. Beach close by very nice and Weston Super Mare short drive away going around the headland interesting drive.

It's been a few years since I have been to sand bay and I noticed a lot of changes the food was amazing always very hot not changing towels that was not good it meant i had to use the same dirty towel over and over even if you changed them once would be good the duvets were not heavy had to use a blanket the pillows was the same luckily I brought my own pillow no cleaning or changing bins was horrible the bin bags were terrible there was also a damp smell in the room apart from all that it won't stop me booking again it was my sisters first time and she has booked again for June all in all a good holiday

Rooms clean but inconsistent with equipment. Some had bed side lamps, not all. Some had a teapot. Some good pillows others dead flat. Food is good and plentiful, excellent breakfast.. Entertainment good overall although few events cancelled due to 'technical issues'. Run out of beers again... This has happened before so bad planning by bar management!!

Short stay in Sand Bay March 2023

The chalet decor needed refreshing. Whilst the room was basically clean it wasnt deep clean. There was a dead spider on the side of the bath and cobwebs in several places. The net curtain had something spattered over it and had a hole in one place. Apart from the wardrobe it would have been useful to have somewhere to hang up coats. There was no bath mat in the bathroom.
Some of the breakfasts we had werent hot despite the food only just being brought out. A choice of desert would've been nice rather than the same gateaux or tinned peaches.
We found our way into the ballroom but then couldnt find our way out so signage would be good. We also didnt see any signs for toilets in the main building.

Initially problems with Hotel.com as Pontins had no record of our booking. Several hours and phone calls later Hotel.com managed to provide Pontins with the relevant information. Would book direct with Pontins ideally.

We were looking for a cheap weekend stay, Where we could do some walking by the sea and wanted to see the place since the last time I was there was 50 years ago as a boy. The price was great for Half board. The restaurant was a basic self-service canteen food was ok and as much as you wanted. The room and bathroom had cobwebs and the bathroom needed a sweep and a mop. The entertainment was very enjoyable and had a nice evening.
