We enjoyed 9 days of winter sun at this resort property. The staff were uniformly excellent, the place spotless and the buffet dining options were good and varied, if a little bland after a week.

The only problem - but it was a big one for us - was the deafening live music or quiz every night till 11pm. Although our suite was on the opposite side of the hotel we could hear every badly sung word, and even the TV couldn’t drown it out. The acoustic design of the place is terrible. In fairness lots of other guests enjoyed it (and joined in)

We’d also expect robes and slippers for this rating of hotel. The area around looks rough but we walked around it a lot without any problems; it’s about 45 minutes walk to the souks.

But the staff made it for us and bad music aside it’s a great hotel.

Food food at all times. Info on snacks was limited. Grounds were beautiful given it was Jan. A couple of disappointments- No ironing board which for this class of hotel is a must and we could only keep the iron for an hour. Would suggest investing in both. Spa treatments were lovely but could be further improved by having plastic bags to put wet swimsuits in. There was no much flexibility to even take it wrapped in a towel. Use of sauna and ateam room way to expensive. Maybe have a set charge for 2 hours of 70 dirhams. Free shuttle to square for shopping but has to be booked in advance. Staff were very helpful and kind. Good service. Overall I would recommend.

The hotel itself was beautiful. Loved the look, design, decor, layout, etc. The best employees were the waiters throughout breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Unfortunately, the cons out weigh those 2 pros. To start, during check in, they failed to do 2 out of the 3 important things. They forgot to give us our resort bracelets. When we returned from the city one night, the gate attendant wouldn’t let us in because we had no proof of being guests there. Secondly, they forgot to have us sign the check in paper until the 3rd day of us staying there. Then when I got the ospreys, she refused to give me a copy in English so I can understand what I I’m signing. I had to ask 5 times for her to give me an English copy. Another front desk attendant, would send us to different lines to make us wait longer just to pull us back into the original line we were standing at and then help us later. Breakfast was a complete waste. It wasn’t the greatest. I ultimately brought an extra plate from dinner to eat for breakfast the next day later during my stay. If you are looking to tan, good luck finding chairs. We witnessed people walking up at 5:45-6am to go out their towels on chairs to go back to later and use it. I’ve never seen that before. lastly, there were bed bugs. We found and killed 3 during our stay. Since the hotel was completely booked, it wasn’t like they could switch our rooms.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Even in the August heat, the pools, drinks bars and air conditioned building made this a really enjoyable stay. They were also great on our last day as they allowed us to carry on using the facilities for the day as we had a late flight. Staff were kind and courteous. Some of the buffet offerings became a little repetitive, but overall good options of food.

Aesthetically this hotel is gorgeous and we had a lovely stay , but there are a few things that let it down.
It was incredibly clean , gardens were beautiful, rooms a decent size with nice beds .
Staff were very friendly but in most cases , not all they were a bit underwhelming in their service .

Dinner was a frustration to get plates cleared away, any drinks etc etc . I very much got the opinion if you weren't tipping you wasnt get served . As it wasnt due to lack of staff .
Unfortunately I am someone who will happily tip for good service but not to get it .

Bfast getting a coffee etc very hard work , or they would bring coffee but no milk.

Food we came to the conclusion if you are happy to eat all of your meals early you will get a far better experience . It isnt a hotel that provides endless options , although the offerings were ok . However when a lot of better things ran out like desserts etc they just wasnt replaced. We couldnt even get vanilla icecream at 2pm on one lunch and they only ever did the same three flavours.

Really lovely hotel. Decorated very tastefully. Lots of sitting areas if weather poor. Pool areas stunning .... Water very cold but doable!
Two different buffet venues for different times of the day - really lovely.
Food good for all inclusive.
Service usually good.
I suggest you tip well at the beginning of your stay & try to sit in the same area of restaurants.
Helpful reception.
Loads of parking - but don't hire a car!
We drive everywhere but just not worth the hassle here.
Ask for a room with afternoon sunshine.
Top floors have solid walls. 1st floor glass balconies.
Definitely stay here again.

We had a really great time at Rui Tikida Gardens, which contributed to a fantastic holiday in Marrakesh.
The hotel itself is very clean and very well looked after. The food is very nice with several options. The facilities are great, and the outside area is beautiful. It is not a large resort but that contributes to its charm.
The staff are very attentive and very welcoming. The waiting staff were particularly good, and you could see the rapport they developed with the guests. The entertainment and activity staff were also brilliant. They definitely contributed to the enjoyment of our stay, especially facilitating us playing French Boules ever morning and during the evening entertainment too.
There are also several health and fitness classes you can partake in, these were also great. In particular, the salsa class. The teaching was so good, it meant I wasn’t completely terrible.
I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone, and we are considering going back again next year.

Good for a quick short stay

The report itself was lovely, but the rooms are in serious need of an update.
The room I stayed in had two leaks, one from behind the toilet and another from the sink, it also had a disruptive noise on the ceiling fan. We called reception a few times to make improvements and it took hours to have it sorted.
Other than that the resort was lovely, rooms a bit small but it was manageable.
I would recommend, only if you don’t plan on spending much time in the hotel room.
Staff was lovely, food was ok, and location wasn’t too bad.

Good cleaning standards, waiters are always friendly, tasty food. Reception is friendly and all staff are very helpful.

Only spa unfortunately is not up to standard, very rushed treatments, scrub literally takes 2 minutes, therapists don’t have good manners, normally just talk to each other or sit on their phones when you walk in, have long nails and wear rings/watches during massages, on both occasions I did not enjoy spa. We also booked a couple massage, therapist had phone in her pocket which kept vibrating and they just talked to each other and laughed. Felt very uncomfortable

It is a lovely hotel with beautiful gardens. Most of the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful.The rooms are big and spacious. Be aware if you are in a room in the main building you can hear music playing downstairs till 11pm.
Unfortunately the aircon didnt work in our room and the staff member who came to 'fix' it didnt know how to. I left feeling quite tired after 2 nights of having a very hot room and not sleeping too well (im used to cold rooms).
The all inclusive meals are great. The alcoholic spirits are a bit questionable but theres a good selection available and you will find something you'l like.
Overall a lovely relaxing hotel and would definitely return.

Great resort off the beaten path. 10 min can ride to the Medina or the resort offers a free shuttle, but nothing after 1830 pm, which is inconvenient. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Mostly quiet property. Could hear some noise in the hallways and one day they were drilling something right outside our room in the morning. The air conditioning is not very strong or cold, but that seems to be the norm in Morocco (nowhere we went our entire stay had decent air conditioning like the U.S.), but kept the room around 78F (25C).
The highlights were the pools. So clean. So refreshing. Nice and comfortable. No screaming or splashing children. Music at the pool was at a comfortable level so you could still talk, read, nap, etc.
staff were extremely friendly and easy to communicate with.
The food choices were limited but we ate every day. Mostly caters to British/European travelers, but in their defense, that is 90% of their demographic at this resort. We were the only American we encountered. Would have appreciated some scrambled eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and avocado - but we made due. We had dinner 1 night at the resort, which was adequate, but again, nothing spectacular. We went off site for dinner the rest of our 8 days.
Overall, would stay again. A few minor changes needed to the noise level, a/c, and food choices, but nothing major. We had a wonderful time and would return.

Front desk staff was not very not very accommodating after cancelling one of our rings just 24hrs before we arrived! They tried to split our group up and have us stay at separate resorts as the fix! It’s all inclusive but no access to food or drinks after a certain time at all and the drink options are very limited. It’s just not the place to come unless you just want to get somewhere and relax the entire time. Our group wasn’t looking to party however, we would’ve like some more entertainment even the pool closed at 6pm why at this all adult resort it’s still daylight and the pool is closed come on???

Staff at the dining areas treated us very differently compared to yt customers. We were always last to be served or fully ignored when we needed something. Staff everywhere else was friendly and helpful. Not the place to stay if you want a moroccan experience. It is also in the literal slums so not safe to leave walking. Food is BAD and that’s coming from someone who has stayed at over 10 all inclusive throughout the caribbean and mexico. Same options for meals and it is VERY LIMITED

I visited Tikida Garden Jan 3rd-10th. I enjoyed my stay. The staff is the winner at this location. Everyone was super nice, helpful and overall pleasant.
Where they sadly lost points, the food was mid, the drinks were ...... boring, the pool needs to be heated because boy was it frozen. Beautiful but you could not enjoy it.
Would I go back yes, but I'd try another location first.

Upon arriving, the hotel looked very impressive. However, when we got to our room, we realised that despite booking a ‘standard room with balcony’ there was no balcony. Nor were there any drawers or spaces for hanging wet clothes. When we reported this to reception, we were told “Standard rooms don’t have balconies,” despite the booking information.
We had to report the flush on our toilet broken on five occasions and were only offered a change of room on the penultimate day of our stay.
The food was bland and repetitive. I enjoy eating a range of dishes abroad but ended up surviving on pizza and chips for both lunch and dinner. Moroccan night, was the only exception, when the food was actually palatable.
In the ‘a la carte’ restaurant (it was a limited set menu) I expressed that I had a kiwi allergy. Instead of preparing me a separate dessert, I assume they attempted to pick the kiwi out of the existing fruit salad, but still served it to me with a chunk of kiwi in. It seemed lost on the staff that this was a massive issue.
The hotel is situated in an actual ghetto and you will not feel safe leaving the resort on foot.
Positives- The catering and wait staff were very friendly and helpful. There are a number of pools, giving you the choice of a relaxing or lively space. People don’t start to put towels out until around 7.30am so there is no mad rush for sun loungers in the morning. You can download and app called Glovo and order edible food and snacks to the hotel.

Amazing relaxed stay here after a week of travelling around Morocco. The staff were lovely! Really friendly and very quick service - which was refreshing in comparison to some of our previous stays in Morocco! The only let down was that the air con wasn't very cold and the bed was a little too hard. The towel issue around the pool was a bit of a joke, the towel hut opened at 9am but when we left for our flight at 7am half of the lodgers were already reserved with a mix of hotel and personal towels! Other than that can't fault it. It was my 40th while there and the a la carte restaurant gave us a bottle of fizz and bday cake which was a really nice surprise.

I had an excellent stay at the Riu Tikida resort. Excellent food - wide range of vegetarian options plus sushi, pasta, pizza, desserts. Great service, attentive and kind staff. I don't believe there was an airport shuttle but the taxis were nearby and there was a free shuttle that took you close to the centre area. The area around the resort wasn't anything interesting but you could spend days lounging by the pools, eating, doing salsa in the bar and visiting with people from all walks of life.

I'd definitely go back to Tikida and would recommend to solo travelers, those traveling with friends or as a couple.

The resort is nice and clean, the staff were friendly, quality of food is good. The pools are not heated, they are too cold to swim in January. They should only replace towels as they are worn out, in poor condition. The doors to the rooms are very noisy and loud, they should improve quality of doors and ventilation in bathrooms. A very pleasant stay. Staff were very welcoming and did everything to make our stay enjoyable. Room was a great size and very comfortable.
Treatments in the spa varied from great to disappointing. Don't waste your money on the manicure and pedicure - worse than amateur.

A great hotel with its contemporary bedrooms, pools, lounges, gym, spa and the wonderful staff. The facilities are excellent and clean,the gardens are simply amazing. However??? There are some practices and procedures at this hotel that have left us puzzled. I’ve never been asked to pay for my stay up front before? Calling it a deposit? I call it full prepayment?
The food was a big let down, at first all seemed well but we did notice that the food seemed like the same food but a little different. After a few days this was confirmed and we were not the only people to notice this. The other strange practice was that the chefs seemed to be preparing their own meals before the end of service, ok? But not ok when there were food stations empty and people were looking around for fresh food. I’ve never seen this in any hotel in the world - ever? They had an amazing facility in the ala carte restaurant it is truly beautiful however, the food was not ala carte by any stretch of the imagination and the service was poor at best. My wife didn’t touch her meal as it was badly over cooked but lukewarm, the waiter just picked it up and scraped her meal into a slop bucket on a trolly, bizarre that he didn’t even ask why the food had been left? All in all a good hotel for a few nights but not any longer unless you are happy with the same food, morning noon and night. I have to say that all the bar staff, cleaning staff and waiters were excellent.

This property was way above my expectations. The decor is gorgeous, the pools are relaxing, staff will go out of their way to make your stay special. All meals had a great selection and there’s always lots available. The only negative I want to share is the drinks quality. Yes there is a good menu of drinks but they seemed to be different each time and low standards compared to other hotels I’ve stayed at. If they up their game with drinks this would be an outstanding hotel. The grounds are tropical, activities going on and a spa. Would still definitely go back!

The Rui Tikida Garden is in many ways perfect. First mention would be the staff, for whom nothing is too much trouble, and always with a smile. Second would be the very spacious and well appointed room. All the other hotel facilities are also beautifully designed and a real pleasure. When we arrived we were not at first given a Garden room, as reserved. But without asking we were then offered a pool-view room, which would normally be subject to an extra charge. These rooms have lovely balconies, and are still very quiet. Partly this may be due to the hotel being adults-only.

There is one reason why I would not give the hotel full marks. That is the food. The main courses are not at all special, and very similar day after day. This food at lunch and in the evening even looks unappetising, Very often a dish is allowed to get almost empty, and only warm and not still hot, before being refilled. Salads are fresh and fine. The desserts all look and taste nice, and while varying each meal, are all essentially variations of the same thing. The food is not up to the standard of the several other Riu hotels, at which we have been. We stayed here five nights, and only because of the food, I am glad we are not staying longer.

I should also mention that the bed mattresses are very hard. It will be unpleasant for some, who have any condition for which this is not suitable.

But overall this a very nice hotel spoilt by the food. Three or four days maximum is all I would recommend

Riu Tikida's all inclusive option is a great value for the price, especially if you plan to drink. Given the generally costly prices of alcohol in Morocco, even a few drinks (aside from the meals themselves) make the price a bargain.

The facilities and the rooms themselves are good, not great. Modern and decently clean, if a little small. We visited when it was too cold to swim, so I can't really speak on the quality of the pools.

The meals are okay - definitely adequate although the dinner especially became repetitive even though we were there only two nights - I can imagine you'd grow sick of it quickly in a longer stay. If you plan to eat lunch/dinner in restaurants outside the hotel, I'd say the price is still worthwhile for the full breakfast (including eggs made to order) and as stated before, drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) served throughout the day and until midnight if you return before then. The hotel also offers bottled water free of charge by request which is very convenient.

The location is fairly central but you'll need to take a short taxi ride to most tourist attractions nearby.

Check-in was very simple and all employees that we interacted with were helpful and welcoming. We would definitely stay again!

We stayed for only few days, and after that we were sorry we didn't stay longer. Service was 5* they couldn't do enough for you. So friendly, helpful and pleasant. Food was amazing. Will definitely be back

Typical riu all inclusive. Not like what you will find in mexico, but it’s ok. We stayed here not because it was all inclusive but because it was close to the medina and cheaper than many of the riads. It was also nice to have the all inclusive option available for drinks as many places didn’t serve alcohol. There was also a nightly show and disco. Not much to do other than the pool during the day, but we spent our days in the medina and Atlas Mountains so didn’t concern us. Would probably stay again if the price was right!

Once again a great week in Marrakech. We had stayed at this hotel 5 times between 2012 and 2015 but although we had not been for 3.5 years the staff all remembered us. Great food, clean comfortable rooms and friendly helpful staff.
Nothing to dislike.

Nice hotel, nice garden, excellent staff, excellent food, but a few things weren’t operating right, such as door locks, safe in the room , hot water.
I wasn’t happy with the fact that it didn’t offer Wi-Fi in the room, only in the lobby, and I made sure when I booked the hotel before my travel the Wi-Fi was one of the amenities offered.

Beautiful and very convenient hotel!

Amazing hotel! Food and service were incredible! Do not believe reviews that say the contrary, I will recommend this hotel in a heartbeat! The only downside is the Wifi and I know it sounds silly but it is fundamental for trip planning. So prepare and have everything ahead of time for their Wifi connection is not reliable at all.
Their shuttle will take you to the new area of Marrakech so there is no problem there, very convenient. Only wish they had a shuttle running a bit later than 6:30.

The air conditioning is non existent throughout the hotel. It didn't work at all in our room, there was a plug-in fan provided, even though the room was still too hot. There is a fridge provided in the room, however this didn't work all week. The food is ok as others have said although after 2 days it does get repetitive. The pool area is far too small for the number of guests. The sunbeds are constantly reserved so it is impossible to get a bed near the pool area, the only remaining sunbeds are near the tennis court area to the rear. The hotel does nothing to enforce its policy on reserving sun beds. The bar closes at midnight, after this time you can only get bottled water from reception, although the water isn't stored in the fridge so it is hot. The entertainment is really awful, its fine if that's what you are into but visiting as an Irish 30 something couple it wasn't our cup of tea at all. In the bar there is a guy with a keyboard singing the same songs night after night. Whilst from 930pm to 11pm the entertainment crew put on shows in the downstairs bar ranging from miss morocco to karaoke. The entertainment finishes at 11pm. Having spent a week here with the poor entertainment and facilities you have no other option but to seek wifi. It is non existent and on the off chance you do manage to connect, it kicks you almost immediately. The staff were the only good thing about the hotel.

Loved staying here. Check-in and out was easy and stress free. Food was delicious. Staff was extremely friendly. Rooms were spacious and clean. Grounds were well-kept. Only issue is the Wi-Fi not in my room.

Not a 4 Star Resort-had to walk up 4 flights stair

Horrible.. not a 4 star resort.no one greeted or helped me at the curb when I arrived.had to lug my suitcases down steps to lobby myself...my room was 4 flights up...no elevator. room faced the driveway with buses and taxis....said I could not walk up 4 flights stairs...they said come back to desk tomorrow/come back 10 am/come back at noon. they did have vacant rooms but I was traveling by myself and not part of Thomson groups so they were giving me 2nd class service..front desk staff very blase ...woman at front desk chewing gum and picking her nose while waiting on guests. front desk person had loud shouting argument with a porter on other side of lobby ...internet did not work for 1 day and guests were upset but front desk did not care...to add insult, they charged me 1 Euro to make a local call while internet was down even though my understanding was that locals calls are included along with food/etc... 6pm in cocktail lounge bartender turned on rock music full volume...if you want water, you ask for it but where you go to get it depends on the time of day..one of the porters kept angling pointedly for tips even though tips are included..in one restaurant a hinge on the door was broken so each time someone went in or out there was a loud bang ..restaurant and bar staff did nothing .had stayed at their sister resort, Palmerie which was fantastic..I expected same level of service/food/amenities since they are both RIU and about the same price.....

Ants in the rooms

This hotel is overrated. From the front desk to the rooms, very unprofessional staff, rooms dirty ants everywhere, the pool small and dirty, the food very bad quality. There are much better options out there, this hotel is not worth your money or your health.
We were very disappointed by the RIU, management needs to be more aware of the situation.

An Oasis Nearby Attractions

Visited this hotel with a group of 6 friends. It is not in the heart of it all, but is very close to the center of city. Hotel staff was very accommodating. Nice room. Wifi could be spotty at times, but overall did not negatively impact my stay. Would def stay there again.

Great value!

This is a good 4* all-inclusive hotel. Given the low rates, one should not have exorbitant expectations anyway. But the hotel does provide good value for money. The service by restaurant staff is exceptional. Everything else (rooms, facilities) is just fine, nothing special really. The one thing wish I had known: People smoke everywhere (except in restaurants) all the time (even in the lobby). If you can't handle that, this hotel is probably not for you.

A beautiful oasis

What a wonderful hotel! Set in beautiful, lush gardens the hotel is fabulous and would suit anyone who wants to relax, eat delicious food, swim in a lovely pool etc. Ideal for couples, families, groups of friends. The rooms are plain and simple, but spotless, with a good bathroom. They overlook the stunning gardens, full of plants, flowers, palm trees, cacti etc. You wake to the gentle sound of birdsong. The hotel staff - and there were so many - are all delightful, smiling and welcoming. There are several places to eat, with a huge range of delicious food, ranging from authentic local dishes to international favourites - with lots of basics such as pizza and pasta, and lovely salads, fruits, puddings. Our six year old son loved the kids club - they played crazy golf, did drawing and painting and looked for the wild tortoises in the garden. We enjoyed relaxing by the huge pool. The hotel and gardens are immaculate. An amazing oasis of peace, tranquility and happy hotel guests.

Good value for money

Smoking allowed in all areas of the hotel was not good when you wanted to eat outside and got very smokey in the bar which meant we didn't spend much time in there .
There is not a full bar service at dinner so I only could have water with my meals or a soft drink from the self service pumps as I don't drink wine .
The food was often cold and a lot of the same every night but was good and very clean and well stocked .
The staff are very helpful and always smiling , the bar staff are very funny and remember what you drink .
We didn't do the trip as a package so we get much help with sight seeing ect and had to find our own way alot but was given a map at reception the free shuttle was good and used it every day . The hotel rooms are dated but very clean I would come here again but would try to get a package deal as we did pay a lot compared to everyone who couldn't wait to tell us how much cheaper they got it for.
The massage was really good and well priced as well .
On the whole we didn't feel we overpaid as we used all of the services and feel we had our money's worth and had a really lovely relaxed break which is what we wanted.

Gorgeous Hotel with beautiful garden, easy access to Marrakech and surrounding area.
Not a hotel for non smokers though - indoor smoking stinks by the end of the night!
Also - i wish they had had a bar menu for lunch - as i found lunch and dinner buffets were almost indentical!

Its a must visit hotel well worth the money and the the all inclusive food and drinks just Lush I couldn't ask for nothing more.
