Amazing experience and service from Tony

I have had a really good experience during my 4 night stay as a solo traveller. Room was clean and big size. I want to highlight the excellent service from receptionist Tony, for his amazing recommendations for things to do and beaches and also for his smile and warm service! Thank you Tony! Highly recommended hotel, good location and a beach nearby. If you have a car, there is space free parking close to the hotel where you can park freely and safe. The only thing i would suggest you is to improve the wifi coverage in the room which was weak but if you are on holidays you should not really need it!!

A fantastic hotel in a superb location

I recently stayed at Hotel Playa Santandria - Adults Only, and it truly exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, the welcome was warm and genuine—the staff were incredibly attentive and made us feel right at home.

Breakfast each morning was absolutely fantastic, offering far more than we could have asked for. The whole place had a wonderfully laid-back and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for unwinding.

A special mention has to go to the manager, who went out of their way to help us with bus schedules and taxi bookings—nothing was too much trouble. The hotel itself was immaculately clean throughout, which made our stay all the more comfortable.

The location is simply stunning—right on the beach with two more beautiful coves just a short walk away. There were some great eateries nearby, including the fantastic restaurant located just under the hotel. It was also super convenient to have a shop and bus stops close by.

This was my first time visiting Menorca, and after such an incredible experience, I genuinely can’t wait to go back!

Great location, I could just stay there, relax and enjoy. The view is stunning, the small bay not too crowded and the beach club and the restaurants nearby are just perfect if you don't want to do anything else but enjoy the seaside. Ciudadella is less than 10mins by car or there's a bus stop nearby the hotel. Super clean, both the modern room and the common areas. Super nice that on our last day we could stay at the beach and then take a shower at the solarium of the hotel, fresh towels were also provided.The balcony of the room is what you need to enjoy the beautiful sunset on your own. The bathrooms are modern and the shower very spacious. Loved the calm of the swimming pool, the perfect place to avoid the beach when it's too crowded. Quite decent the breakfast buffet with fresh fruit and proper orange squash. The sweet selection could be improved though. Staff always friendly and helpful. All in all, great value for money, I would go back.

The property is right on the beach, excellent location. We had a room at the top floor with a sea view, it was gorgeous. The room is very clean and modern. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great. There is a restaurant below and a beach club on the other side, so it is very easy to have food. Amazing place and I would love to go again.

Dirty room

The hotel looked very modern on pictures however when we arrived there was a unpleasant smell. The room was dirty. For eg. The fan had so much dust on it that we couldn't use it. The curtains were dirty and ripped. There was no tea coffee or kettle in the room. The walls were dirty. The only nice thing in the hotel was the bathroom.

We asked for room to be cleaned how ever bed sheets weren't changed and floor not swept or cleaned.

On the positive side the food was very nice and staff very helpful.

The hotel was perfect! It is located right on the beach. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. We had a good size balcony with beautiful views over the beach and water. All the staff - front desk, bar, restaurant, housekeeping, management were efficient, friendly and a pleasure to deal with. Breakfast was excellent with a good variety to choose from. The beach bar and restaurant served quality food, snacks and drinks all at reasonable prices and good service. Big thank you to Gabriel, Paul, and both Tony’s for making our stay a highlight of our Spanish holiday. We highly recommend this lovely hotel.

Great hotel right on the beach of a little cove

This was our second visit and it was like coming home. Everything about this small hotel is large, from the friendly heart of the management and staff to the rooms and the view. It is the first time we have ever gone anywhere for a repeat stay and we wondered whether it would be just as good. We were far from disappointed. In fact we were delighted! We will definitely be coming back time and again.

Nice quiet spot by the beach

My wife and I stayed 3 nights and had a great time. Hotel is very clean and rooms are comfortable. Very quiet and calm so it is great for relaxing.

Wanted to open an extra paragraph for the hotel and restaurant staff. They are very very helpful and nice. Just ask for what you need and they are quick to help. Also food at the hotel is good.

Breakfast is included and has good amount of variety.

Beach is fun. Hotel gives towels. You can either buy bring/buy your umbrella or rent the umbrella and beach chairs for 15 euro a day.

There are 4 restaurant around the bar (including the pizza place across the beach). We tried all of them except th steak house. They have good food. Prices are ok. Especially the one which you can swim from the hotel and use the ladder to climb (I can’t remember the name) has amazing food. The one right next to the hotel is a great option for a romantic night with a nice view.

We spent all 2-3 days around the hotel and didn’t explore the island. So I don’t have much to say about that.

(Stayed May 2018) Amazing hotel, right on the beach, stunning views from the sea facing balconies. Staff are really friendly and helpful, beach towels and parasols available for free downstairs. Has a great bar and restaurant itself, or is surrounded by other great restaurants and supermarkets, as well as being a 10 minute drive or 40 minute walk into the main town. Room was big and spacious, with a huge bathroom and plenty of room in the double bed. Free parking outside the hotel and along the road, off the main road, so the road is very quiet. Could not recommend more.

Lovely hotel

This hotel is great! Excellent value for money and in a perfect location to access the beach and travel around the island. It is clean and rooms have great views. My only negative comments would be it is a bit noisy so if you are a light sleeper take earplugs and the staff are bit disorganised. On my last morning I was asked if I wanted early breakfast as I had an early transfer. I was delighted, got up early the guy met me in the breakfast area turned the coffee machine on and then disappeared for 35 minutes, by which time my transfer had arrived. So no breakfast.... But all in all a great hotel I would really recommend.

Relaxing week at this family run hotel by the beach.Hotel was clean, staff friendly, if a little slow.Transport can be tricky without a hire car, bus fees are expensive!The coastline in rugged, good shoework required.
Not much going on for nightlife and shopping, 1 grocery shop nearby and bike/scooter hire.

Shown by Manager Gabrielle, to a nice clean, basic, room, balcony overlooking the Santandria cove, (bathroom great, with GOOD shower) then down for a delicious filling snack, coffee and brandy in the beachside Tapas bar.
Chilled out in the comfy lounge and Tapas bar for most of our first day.The hotel has an enviable position overlooking the beach and bay. One fabulous underused feature is the rooftop terrace above the Tapas bar. A real sun trap with the hotels own sunbeds and umbrella's, quick access to your room, or other amenities, and a beautiful tiled surface surrounded by chrome and glass gave it an executive feel. (If you wanted to go on the beach without hiring sunbeds, the hotel had a plentiful supply of umbrella's you could put up on the beach, which although sometimes busy was never overcrowded. I used the small pool a couple of times, which was spotless, a suntrap in the morning, with superb showers with hot water!
The breakfast room was spotless, and the choice at breakfast excellent. Bacon typically Spanish, eggs cooked superbly, toaster did a good job eventually!! One real bonus was a proper coffee machine!. You open a drawer pop in a capsule press the button and restaurant quality coffee. Choice of breakfast alternatives was extensive. The staff worked their socks off, very courteous and helpful, ok no uniforms, but who cares?? Chilled out!! This hotel has been through some changes over the years, but modern and tasteful in a beautiful setting..

The hotel is all about beach life in Menorca. The best thing is you are right on the beach and the beach is more quiet compared to others on Menorca. There is a good choice of restaurants within walking distance. The hotel staff are helpful if needed. We got an upgrade room when we arrived.

Hi. I totally recommend this hotel. adults only, very quiet and comfortable. the staff is amazing, they helped us with beach towels, swimming goggles, etc.
Room was very clean, lovely smell in the room and all the hotel , breakfast, simple but amazing. I loved the coffee(espresso), really, best coffee possible. (I am a barista, I know a good coffee when I taste it :)) ).
the beach is small and comfortable, water very clear and clean.
Many thanks to everybody from the hotel for an amazing few days. I would totally go back when I have the chance.

Excellent 3* Hotel in the most delightful position

How smug did my wife and I feel having selected this hotel after looking on line for a hotel in Menorca where we had never been before, It's position in this quite beautiful bay is unparalleled. OK it's only a 3* but for what we wanted from a week long break we could survive without suited reception staff and exotic shower gels!
We upgraded on arrival and our room was spacious,the bed large and comfortable and everythlng worked.
Gabriel and Paul were delightful and helpful hosts and all other staff were pleasant. Buffet breakfast was fine and restaurant food excellent.
We'd hired a car at the airport so didn't use bus to visit Ciutadella (another delight) but from guests we spoke with the services were pretty good and indeed many walked as it was only 3km.
Would we come back? Definitely!

Nice quiet hotel. Good breakfast in a lovely room overlooking the beach. The beach is right beside the hotel so having a dip in the sea at anytime is no problem. You can spend the day on the beach if you want to or go out for the day and have a quick swim when you get back, it is so easy.

Nice spot right on a quiet cove. Breakfast is excellent, the breakfast staff were excellent and very friendly. Rooms very clean. Beds were comfortable but a double was just two singles pushed together and the pillows were the spanish style long tube type which I personally cant sleep with so had to buy one locally. The pool only has sunlight for the first few hours of the day and is then in complete shade. Good restaurant on site and on the corner over the road the best pizza place/ restaurant on the island.

Location, location, location! Right on the lovely beach, with sheltered swimming in the inlet. Had half-board, which worked well, with excellent, unpretentious food. Adults only hotel (possibly because of the drop from the balconies?), which suited us very well. Good service, despite the friendly staff seeming exhausted at the end of the season.

very charming, until you get to your mediocre room

The hotel is very well located right by the beach. It's a small and charming hotel and the first impression is great. Reception and common areas have been decorated with taste and it's very cozy. However when you enter the room much of the charm goes away. The room hasn't been refurbished since the 70s. Old, tasteless furniture, tiny bathroom (you need to close the door to use the loo), no bidet although it was listed. The king size bed was just two beds together, so the mattresses were split in the middle making them very uncomfortable for a couple. There was no desk (even if it was listed) and the only chairs are the plastic ones in the terrace. The room doesn't have a minibar either, which is a shame because being by the beach you want to keep your drinks cold, specially since after 11pm everything is closed around (including the bar at the hotel). Unsurprisingly, wifi was terribly slow, making it unusable.

All the staff were very nice and helpful, and location was excellent, but the room itself was much worse than expected. So I would only recommend it with mixed feelings.

A little gem

We found it a very quiet, relaxed hotel. The manager and staff were friendly, courteous and extremely helpful whrnit came to solving such minor problems as softer pillows and a refrgerator. The hotel has a roof area with comfortable sun-loungers, shady parasols and immediate access to the beach, which is extremely clean, charming and generally un-crowded. The hotel has a good restaurant, and there is another good one, Sa Nacra, round the corner of the beach (best to book there). We enjoyed our stay very much, and shall return to the hotel.

- Staff are friendly, polite, work hard and go the extra mile for anything you need. This includes the hotel restaurant
- It is *right* on the beach
- There are 3 restaurants (other than the hotel restaurant) to choose from (within a 2min walk)
- Room was simple, relatively spacious, cleaned daily.
- Non-seaview rooms have a view of the beach
- Sunsets over the sea, as the hotel is located on the west coast
- breakfast buffet is varied and good quality (local meats, excellent croissants, espresso capsule coffee machine)
- Recently been refurbed, looks boutiquey without the high prices

Cons
- Swimming pool is at the back of the hotel (still nice, just doesn't get afternoon sun)
- There is no cheap cafe restaurant option, only mid-range and above (but there are 2 supermarkets within 5mins walk open late)

Lovely hotel, right on the beach

The hotel is situated right on the beach and there are several nice restaurants within walking distance. The cove is quiet and peaceful (we stayed at the end of May), and only a 10 minute drive in to Cuitadella. All the staff were friendly and helpful but worthy of special mention is Gabriel the manager who was especially helpful. The breakfast was excellent wide a wide choice on offer from fresh fruit to cold meat and chees to cooked food if you wished. It all made for an extremely relaxing restful holiday

Lovely hotel in a beautiful location

We stayed at the Santandria Menorca Beach Hotel in September 2015.
The small hotel is located on a beautiful sandy beach front, close to a road. Even though the 3star rating for this hotel is given, it deserves so much more. The staff work so hard to make your stay enjoyable, with the rooms kept clean each day with fresh towels and bedding, the self-service breakfast room kept fully stocked and evening meal menu choices varied, with a choice selection of 3 starters, main courses and desserts.
We stayed in room 307, which had a large double bed, decent sized bathroom and really good shower, a good powerful hairdryer, small clothes line on the balcony for our towels etc. and free Wi-Fi. We also paid the small fee for a safe which was located in the wardrobe. We had a side on view of the beach and could hear the local 14 ducks on the beach quacking from our balcony.
Our only slight suggestion to the hotel would be to provide tea/coffee making facilities in the room with a fridge. We were lucky in that we had brought a travel kettle with us but others may have been frustrated by the slight technical glitch in the breakfast room for a couple of days, with the coffee machine refusing to work, so the poor staff were running in/out making cups of coffee for guests.
Readers of this review may also want to consider requesting a room facing the sea front as we did encounter some road noise.

Relaxing week in the sun

What most appealed to us about this hotel on our initial investigations on line was the fact that it is an adults only hotel, whilst we like children we do not want them around us on holiday, very selfish but true. The hotel is very well situated for the beach which is literally outside and is flanked by 4 good restaurants within easy walking distance. The hotel staff whilst scarce are all very helpful and always seem to be busy. Breakfast was superb, buffet style but always replenished when items run low, nice breakfast restaurant setting.

Good clean hotel. Excellent location. Friendly staff. Clean rooms and good bathrooms. Easy parking outside, a couple of good restaurants around, and a nice beach on the doorstep. If more hotels where like this one, booking hotels for a holiday would be less stressful!

Fantastic Spot -- one issue, though....

We had a great time and thought it was great value. There are swankier hotels, but not right on the beach, with a truly superb view out to sea. We upgraded to a full sea view and were delighted with this.
The staff are fantastic and the food pretty good, though we only ate at the hotel twice. Others on half-board seemed happy with their food all week. Breakfast is excellent.
Our room, while slightly dated, was newly decorated, the bathroom was good and the cleanliness was perfect. The TV picture was excellent, but brush up on your Spanish as there are no UK or US channels.
Why not a 'five star' rating? The hotel next door had a party on the first night we were there and a Wedding Reception on the second night. The disco, and associated rather rowdy drunken dancing, was just below our balcony. We are all in favour of people having a good time but drunken shouting in the next door courtyard and on the beach wears a bit thin in the early hours.....
More generally, the hotel, like all 1960's/ 70's construction is noisy at times -- concrete construction, thin floors and hard surfaces make a wonderful echo chamber!
Would we go back? Yes, without hesitation. Would we try and check what was going on next door? Absolutely we would.
I hope we are not making a meal of the issue with the activity next door -- the team at the hotel deserve better. Also, we were at Santandria early in the season and the next door hotel might well revert to more normal activities as the resort gets busier.

Hidden secret in Menorca

This is a nice clean hotel right next to the water. The staff were extremely helpful and went out of their way to help us book rentals or direct us to various places around Menorca. The hotel itself is in walking distance to two very nice restaurants with a view of the cove. It was nice waking up to a full Iberian breakfast with meats, fruit, cereal and coffee to start the day and walk over to the beach to get a swim and relax.
The room was comfortable and the AC actually worked unlike two of our earlier hotels we stayed at Madrid and Barcelona. The hotel also had a swimming pool and beds next to the pool for us relax in the evenings after being in the hot sun all day. Overall a great place to stay and I will highly recommend this little secret.

Quiet hotel next to a beach

The hotel was friendly, clean and quiet. The breakfasts were good with a varied choice of food, only criticism was that the machine coffee was not up to the same standard as everything else on offer or as good as the coffee served in the bar downstairs. Bars and restaurants right next to the hotel and just beside the beach were reasonably priced and food was good.

Best location on the beach

We chose this hotel because it is on the beach. All rooms have a sea and beach view, and it is fantastic to step out of the hotel after breakfast directly onto the sand. Free WIFI throughout the hotel, and the signal actually reaches the C'an Carrio beach bar opposite! Recommended.

This hotel is as close to the beach as it's possible to be. Beautiful little cove with clear waters, sandy beach and lovely for swimming. Hotel owners go to extra lengths to provide a great service in a very laid-back atmosphere. Recommended for a romantic break!

Hotel Playa Santandria in Menorca

A great lo-cost hotel directly onto clean and safe beach. Extremely tranquil and relaxing. Hotel staff very friendly and caring. Food very good - great value considering the half board rate as evening meals are prepared to order not buffet style. Rooms and bathrooms are comfortable and very clean, and whilst not recently decorated are large and spacious.
Beach is very clean with crystal clear water and 12 hours of sunshine with stunning sunsets most nights.

All in all, extremely pleased and will go back again.

A good budget hotel

We stayed in Playa Santandria for a week and this hotel is great for people on a budget like us: the rooms were comfortable, clean, all with a balcony looking over onto the beautiful bay, the shower was a bit temperamental (although all part of the charm!), towels replaced everyday etc and there was a large flatscreen t.v. The breakfast buffet was fresh and tasty with a varied selection of food, the location is amazing: quiet, right on the beach, surrounded by great restaurants (including the hotels own which was great value for money and there was a daily menu) and bus stops 5 minutes walk away. I would reccomend this hotel for nice quiet budget getaways - Menorca is a really beautiful island (crystal clear water, hot but with a breeze, lovely beaches and cities, fresh fish dishes etc), and at Playa Santandria its good value for money and you get what you pay for!

Tolles Frühstückshotel direkt am Strand. Sehr freundliches Personal immer hilfsbereit und immer ein Ausflugstipp parat. Obwohl das Hotel über keine eigenen Parkplätze verfügt, haben wir trotzdem immer ein Parkplatz in der Nähe gefunden. Wir würden dort jederzeit wieder buchen.

Das Hotel ist wunderbar! Die Lage ist absolut top, direkt am wunderschönen Strand gelegen und somit haben auch die Zimmer einen tollen Ausblick! Das Zimmer war gross, hell und modern sowie sauber. Das Personal war stets sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Lediglich das hoteleigene Restaurant Es Bruc ist nicht zu empfehlen. Das Essen war leider qualitativ überhaupt nicht gut (labbriger Salat, überreifes Obst etc.) und uns wurde mehr verrechnet als auf dem Menu angegeben war. Es gibt aber genügend andere Möglichkeiten in der Nähe zum Abendessen. Am Mittag kann ich die Nachos vom Santandria Beach Club empfehlen, welche direkt an den Liegestuhl geliefert werden. Den Preis für 2 Liegestühle und einen Sonnenschrim finde ich mit 18€ ziemlich fair. Das Buffet beim Morgenessen ist relativ überschaubar und ab einer gewissen Zeit wird leider nicht mehr alles aufgefüllt. Lecker war es dennoch.
Insgesamt war es ein toller Aufenthalt!

El personal de ese hotel es un 💯, han sido muy amables en cualquier momento. nos han dado recomendaciones geniales de restaurantes y calas que visitar y nos dejaron usar una ducha privada después del checkout para poder disfrutar de la playa.
La comida del restaurante está muy buena. Fuimos en temporada baja y estaba muy tranquilo el hotel. Vamos a volver seguro! Lo único negativo fue que la cama era muy suave, pero eso es un gusto personal, supongo que a otras personas les gusta así.
