Stayed 3 nights whilst walking the Cami de Cavells. Two hotels in one. Reception and breakfast in one - with rooms in another. Ideal combination for me as I simply returned to my room each day with no fuss or bother. Really friendly and helpful management team who offered advice on a range of things. Very good buffet breakfast each day. Short walk into Ciutadella with excellent views over the local area. Hotel actually sits on the Cami! All at a great price. I'll be back.

Friendly, comfortable, and well located
Perfectly located just 10 minutes walk from the old town and harbour of Ciutadella, and an easy 5–10 minute walk from local bus services. There is direct access to the sea via a short flight of steps from the hotel terrace, and it's the perfect spot from which to enjoy sunset with views over the cove of Platja Gran and out to sea. With friendly staff, clean rooms, comfortable beds, and good showers as well, I'd definitely return!

The hotel bona is a very basic hotel and a bit dated but it is kept clean and reasonably maintained throughout. The staff are friendly and try to be helpful. Incidentally, reception for checking in and out is at the nearby Mar Blava, the Cala Bona's sister hotel. The Blava is also where you will be expected to take breakfast.
Our room came with a small balcony, en-suite bathroom, fridge, television and safe. On the down side there was no air conditioning, the shower was pretty useless and the beds were the hardest I've slept on.
The location of the hotel is good for the town of Ciutadella being around a fifteen minutes walk. There is a supermarket close by and a small beach to catch some early morning sun.

Budget hotel on a great location near the old city center, beautiful view at an inlet with rocks and a small sand beach nearby. Great for swimming or jogging. Fine breakfast with moderate but fresh choice. Parking space in front. Try to pick a room with a terrace if available (even if with no sea view). Wi-fi really bad at most locations, unfortunately.

Stayed one night on a business trip. Cala Bona is a very pretty hotel with a VERY nice views to the sea. We also got a room with a balcony to the sea which was nice. Breakfast is good and you can have it inside or on the terrace, and again, with spectacular views. Hotel has a small pool and there's also a possibility to swim in the sea almost straight from the breakfast terrace. Staff is helpful and friendly. Hotel is 10 min walk from the exact centrum. I would go back to Cala Bona anytime.

Delightful position and lovely staff.
The hotel is beautifully situated on a small inlet very close to the town of Cuitadella (about 10 mins on foot). The hotel is in 2 small buildings, we stayed in room 10 in the Cala Bona which had a a balcony and sea view. The two single beds were 4 foot in width and so we were very comfortable, the shower in the bathroom is small, but adequate. The breakfast area was delightful, with a lovely view. The staff were more than helpful. It is an older hotel, but the position and the kindness of the staff make it an excellent choice. We would definitely return.

The location of this hotel is just perfect, I took the ferry from Alcudia in Mallorca where I live, and it was only about 10 mins walk around the coast to the hotel, very easy to find, and from there less than 10 mins walk into the centre of Ciutadella. The brothers (hosts) were very friendly and offered me a choice of room as not full that day. I chose the smaller older room because the location was just perfect, on the water's edge, in fact I didn't even look at the bigger room. The view was amazing from my room and the next morning I woke early with the full moon right in front of me, fantastic! I also love the way the local council has made the most of access to the sea with steps cut into the rocks, or put some small wooden or metal steps, and also there are disabled parking bays with flat access to sea front, making the beauty of the location easily available to all. Breakfast was good and plenty to eat, excellent choice. I spoke with some other guests and we all agreed we had made a very wise choice booking the hotel Mar Blava! I can't wait to go back!

Great Beach Hotel
This hotel is right on an inlet of the sea. Although it is rock formation it is easy to just jumnp in right in front of the hotel. This is an old style beach hotel. Not fancy but cosy with a great breakfast. Easy to walk to the middle of town and easy to park your car by the hotel.

Walking distance from Ciutadella town and harbour
Really lovely little place. Very good value for money. Remember, this place is not a 4 star hotel. Its an honest, clean, friendly, well located basic hotel. You get to eat your breakfast whilst enjoying the view of the little tiny port/lagoon right beside the hotel, which incidentally, you can sunbathe by and swim in. Soemtimes in the morning the hotel staff feed the fish in the lagoon and its just amazing to watch. We saw a little shark one day. The staff are really friendly and will give you advice on where to go for dinner etc. Ciutadella is a really nice town, and the restaurants aren't bad ...but you will pay quite a lot for food. Its not cheap to eat in Menorca. The west side of the island is really lovely and we hired a car out so that we could travel around the island. Avoid the big places like Cala st Galdana and head for the little, more hard to reach places. We found some totally unspoilt beaches (Cala Mitjanas, Cala en Turquetta and Cap de Cavilleria). Take some food with you though, when I say unspoilt, I really mean it. The highest point of the island is Point Toro and its worth a look, the views are amazing. Save the caves in Cala n Porter for the evening (it is so not worth going to them in the day). Its basically a bar/nightclub that plays chilled out music). Wished we'd gone there in the evening and I really do think it would have been lovely.

Personale super gentile e accogliente, sempre pronto a soddisfare ogni esigenza, infatti la prima sera ero alloggiato in una camera nella struttura cala bona, per me era troppo calda (l'hotel non ha l'aria condizionata, unica pecca, e non potevo aprire la finestra perchè la camera era bassa e avevo paura che qualche insetto entrasse) però subito mi hanno messo in un altra sistemazione, nell'altra struttura, mar blava, ed è stato tutto perfetto.

Wir hatten einen super tollen Aufenthalt im Cala Bona. Wenn ich mich in der Umgebung umgeguckt habe, dann hatte dieses Hotel auch die beste Lage da man morgens direkt am Wasser frühstücken konnte, was bei anderen Hotels nicht der Fall war.
Auch das Personal war sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Man konnte sie alles fragen und sie haben sich wirklich Zeit genommen.
Dieses Hotel ist zwar nicht das modernste, aber man sieht das es mit Liebe eingerichtet ist!
Auch das Frühstück ist völlig inordnung. Das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis stimmt vorne und hinten!

Aunque no esté en pleno centro de Ciudadela, tiene otras ventajas, como estar en una zona sin ruidos y tener a mano una cala de la que disfrutar en cualquier momento... especialmente de la puesta de sol que había en las fechas en que me alojé.
El único pero fue la limpieza, aunque lo comuniqué en recepción y enseguida lo solventaron.
La atención en recepción ha sido excelente y sus recomendaciones fueron todo un acierto.

Staff molto gentile. A circa 10-15 minuti a piedi dal centro e dal porto dove ci sono tanti ristorantini ( consiglio il ristorante gabbana buon prezzo ed ottimo il calamaro alla piastra). Dall'hotel si accede direttamente al mare con tanti pesciolini...c'è anche una spiaggia sabbiosa a 100 metri, anche se non la consiglio perché il mare è di colore verdastro...molto meglio il mare sotto l' hotel anche se vi è solo una piattaforma rocciosa e non proprio la spiaggia sabbiosa( è possibile cmq sdraiarsi con il telo da mare)Colazione abbondante dolce e salato. Hotel dispone di due strutture di cui una in prima linea sul mare, le camere della seconda struttura dietro hanno quasi tutti i balconi. Nelle stanze non è presente l'aria condizionata ma solo ventilatore. Nel complesso ottimo hotel e staff veramente cordiale e disponibile.

Ett fantastiskt fint läge precis vid kanten av en havsvik. Ett charmigt äldre hotell med mycket trevlig personal och som hjärna hjälpte till med allt, bra service. Frukost kunde intas på terass med utsikt över havet, mycket vackert. Det går att bada i havet i direkt i anslutning till hotellet, en stege från klipporna ner i det kristallblå vattnet. Det finns ingen aircondition men en fläkt i taket som hjälper lite när det är varmt.

One restaurant is also built within a natural cave. Each of the 20 villas is surrounded by a small lawn and a terrace.
The main entrance of the villas leads directly into a tastefully appointed, air-conditioned lounge/ dining room with modern cane seating and two doors, which open to the terrace. Via a corridor, guests will reach the living room with an open-plan kitchen, which features a fridge, a small oven, and hobs.
There are also one or two air-conditioned bedrooms with two double beds and en suite bathroom on the ground floor. A further air-conditioned bedroom with two twin beds, a balcony with views over the pool, and a bathroom is located on the first floor.
All the villas come with a TV and safe as standard, and the air-conditioning in the individual rooms is individually adjustable. The barbecue areas with tall chimneys beside the terracotta poolside terrace are particularly remarkable.
There are sufficient sun loungers laid out for all guests.

The complex consists of 16 villas. The villas have 3 double rooms with built-in wardrobes distributed across 2 floors, 2 fully-fitted bathrooms with hairdryer, dining room with satellite TV, fully-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, freezer, oven, kettle, toaster and 4-plate hob.
There is an exterior laundry room with washing machine, as well as a private terrace with barbecue, garden and swimming pool. Further facilities include safety deposit box, iron and ironing board and individually regulated air conditioning.
The establishment offers cleaning and new towels twice a week with a change of sheets also included. Follow directions to Ciutadella, passing by Alaior, Es Mercadal and Ferreries.
Arriving in Ciutadella at the first roundabout turn to the left following la Ronda with direction Cap d'Artruix and following the signs Cap d'Artruix untill arriving to a roundabout with directions to Cala Blanca on the right hand side. On the crossing in Cala Blanca turn right into a one way street.
Follow this street and after about 200 metres the hotel Sagitario Playa will be on the right hand side. In the reception of the hotel Sagitario Playa guests receive the key to their villa and instructions how to get there.
