Beautiful hotel in a restored Palau, well positioned in the centre of old Ciutadella. Lovely facilities including a gorgeous underground pool and spa, and with several small unheated outdoor pools. The outside dining area was magical.

We thought the staff were friendly and approachable.
Our room was lovely but frustrating there were no hooks anywhere to hang towels etc expect in the shower where they got wet. The room was so dark, the lighting so poor that we asked for a lamp but when we pulled it out of the plug to use it the wire came loose. This is a 5 star hotel , no tote bag for the beach awful hairdryer nothing to play music on and a totally different building to where breakfast was. Such simple things to make a difference.
We enjoyed our stay but don’t think it’s 5 star

This is a true oasis. Beautifully renovated and decorated throughout, in the midst of the city, yet tucked in old city villas.

The pool area is gorgeous, especially in the second palazzo - with the cathedral towering above you.

Breakfast is generous and fresh, making for a perfect start to the day.

If you need a place to find peace and quiet, you can’t ask for more.

The location is fantastic in good proximity of Citudella. Hotel decor is of a good standard however the experience is certainly not a 5 star experience and I believe we are leaving a fair review of this hotel.

We stayed in the main / largest building. There was an issue when we checked in as we had paid a premium room with a harbour view however we were given a room close proximity of a jazz bar with a view of the side of the courtyard which is uninspiring.

The reception team attempted to allocate a different room however a downgrade to a superior room which appeared to be in the eaves of the building with no harbour view , considering the air conditioning in the rooms in our opinion are of a weak standard we declined as we did not wish compromise 4 nights of interrupted sleep as the rooms in hotel are quite humid.

Rooms were of a good size , however the bed was uncomfortable and pillows a very poor standard offering no neck support, bedding not changed during the 4 night stay even though it was evident there was a stain .

Housekeeping was of a good standard however I do feel that the guest experience is poor as housekeeping had not tided the room until after 3pm on an occasion , reception were extremely unhelpful as I explained to receptionist that my husband needsed to rest as the 3rd night of our stay (room 16) we were woken by loud music from the jazz bar that continued until 5am in the morning and we had an extremely sleepless night. Highly recommend!! Thoroughly deserves 5*
From the moment I arrived the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated in a very convenient position for exploring the city and all it has to offer. Ciutadella is very safe, historically interesting, clean and pretty with good transport links to the rest of the island.
There are a good variety of restaurants within close proximity as well as the excellent one at the Faustino.
Breakfasts can be eaten on the terrace which is a joy! There is a lovely continental style cold buffet as well as an excellent selection of hot choices, the staff are only too happy to try and accommodate your needs.
The hotel is split over 3 buildings which are all within about 100 meters of the main building. Each has its own character, they are quiet and beautifully designed.
There is a lovely pool and terrace area in the gardens of the main hotel and also, a smaller beautifully secluded one in Can Llorenc . Both were a peaceful haven after a busy mornings sightseeing.
I will definitely be returning to the Faustino Gran and all it has to offer.

Breakfast was great, we chose to eat dinner at the hotel restaurant one evening which was also very good. So many details taken care of at this place - we will be back!

The Faustino Gran is a beautiful property, with lovely staff. But it was let down by a consistently chaotic breakfast service, and a food a beverage offering that generally did not live up to the price-point or what you would generally expect from a R&C hotel. The breakfast service was understaffed for the number of guests, making it consistently hard to get seated and order a coffee, and on more than one occasion hard to get a table prepared with cutlery or a menu. This was consistently the case over a five night stay - we decided to skip breakfast on the last morning because (despite our lovely waitresses) it just took too long every day previously. We had high expectations of dinner, which we booked on our first night, but despite the lovely staff and setting we were very disappointed by the standard of food - far from good enough for the price and out of sync with the generally excellent standard in Ciutadela. Rice was seriously undercooked, burrata salad way too cold, as if pre-prepared and taken from the fridge. Similarly, it was sometimes hard to get drinks from the cocktail bar due to staffing, no pool-side service, and the same classic cocktails varied depending on who made them. There are noise issues in the rooms facing the port, where we stayed. While the port nightlife is out of the hotel’s control, investment in better sound proofing would help. Despite these issues, the hotel is beautiful, well located, with helpful and friendly staff who did their best.

A Fabulous Experience.

A beautiful hotel in the heart of old town, walking distance from the harbour, main square and laberinth of streets for shops, bars and restaurants.
Although well occupied, we never felt crowded, with a sizeable team on hand for anything we needed, guided by a very attentive general manager.
The main entrance is on a very narrow road to the front so it would have been be wise to call reception just before arrival - they would probably have greeted us to assist with the luggage before driving off to park. In truth however, we didn’t need the car during our stay, so if we had only been saying here during our week, a taxi or airport transfer would have made more sense.
Overall, a fabulous experience and highly recommended - we hope to be lucky enough to return in the future.

Very nice location and ideal for strolling around the old town and harbour. Staff very friendly although breakfast service was slightly erratic. Please advise future customers that the deluxe premier room with views do not all have a balcony as inferred by the photos of the room. This led to initial disappointment that could have been avoided. Rooms overlooking the harbour are noisy from nightclubs opposite until the early hours, even with windows closed.

Lovely hotel in great location.

This is a very good hotel with really excellent staff, a lovely ambience and very nuce breakfast until 10.30am. Its real plus point is its location, right in the old town and a very short walk from the port with an amazing selection of places to eat and drink. The port and town both have a real 'buzz' on an evening. The hotel has a small pool area but it is not a great place to sit as it has no view or breeze! Much better to take a short bus or taxi ride to a nearby beach. The only negative was the noise from the port area at night which made sleeping difficult. The disco and jazz bar opposite the hotel were open until 5.30 am and the sound of partying voices was non stop.

In a class of its own

Can Faustino was a palace in a former life and I felt just like royalty! Absolutely everything was fabulous - staff, restaurant, facilities... completely faultless

The hotel is in the heart of historic Ciutadella, so although I went for the Fiesta - what a spectacle - I would return for the hotel itself.

Service is unrivalled, the welcome and hospitality generous, and the spacious gardens the perfect place to dine alfresco.

I loved it.

Everything about the hotel is perfect. Great location in Ciutadella de Menorca. The hotel is an Old Palace building completely redone with exquisite taste. Modern state of the art air conditioning and showers. You notice the quality of the restoration when you notice details like a Schindler elevator even for just 2 floors. Lovely beds and rooms. Fantastic breakfasts. Friendly staff. Lovely interiors and exteriors. Will go back for sure.

The perfect hotel in a perfect position for the old town. Beautiful interiors, very high standard throughout. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. A joy to be there.. Excellent buffet breakfast, interesting evening meals. Our best was the perfectly cooked and tender steak. Some amazingly presented desserts. We will certainly be going back to this hotel when we return to Menorca. Thought Cuitadella was a lovely city and, dare I say, far prettier than Mahon.

Calming hotel with fantastic staff and surroundings with amazing views and in a quiet spot away from the bustle of beautiful Ciutadella.
Our room was excellent but was over a passageway at the rear of the hotel and lacked good light from lunchtime onwards. It was noisy at times and disturbed our sleep on the first night. Second night we closed the internal shutters which worked well. Will ask for a front facing room next time.

We loved the hotel, it was peaceful and perfect location for visiting Ciutadella, the staff were very polite and attentive.
Breakfast was excellent, as was the evening meals.
Our room was a bit lacking in comfort, and small although very clean and well looked after.
I would go there again if I ever went back to Menorca.

A well situated location in the centre of town, however short on facilities for its 5 star rating and overpriced. Pleasant and helpful staff, however not always evident when needed. Ample size room and bathroom but in need of an upgrade, one uncomfortable chair, no draws or space for my wife to do her make up.

Cool oasis in the city

This was our second brief stay at Can Faustino. We love the location, so convenient for exploring Ciutadella and the beaches at the western end of Menorca.

The hotel is a beautiful building, formerly a monastery, situated at the inner end of the port. It's worth requesting a room with a view of the port.

Meals are served under the olive trees in the garden in summer. The food is good, although we found the service rather slow. That was our only criticism, however, and we would certainly recommend the hotel to anyone wishing to stay in Ciutadella.

Our bedroom was very disappointing

There was no separate bathroom - washbasin was in the bedroom and our bed directly faced a glass door to our toilet - we could see and hear all our partner's toilet noises from our bed! Also it was strange to be observed in bed by pigeons pecking at the Velux skylight above us - also we had to kneel down to get a limited view of the alley outside. There was limited wardrobe space. Not five star at all.
Choice at breakfast was limited - particularly cereals and bread.
There were Spanish and French newspapers only
Despite my telephone request for directions and parking there was no warning not to drive into the alleyway behind which is so narrow that I scrapped my bumper - another guest got stuck

I'll Go Back, BUT----

The parking is TERRIBLE!!!! It is also very hard to find and when you do, you have to go down to a nearby square to walk back to the hotel. Sometimes the hotel goes not have a parking attendant so you have to walk a couple of blocks away down a long flight of steps to get your car. The bar doesn't know how to fix American drinks. The rooms are very small and very stark. Only one uncomfortable chair. Couldn't get a luggage rack for our 2 suitcases. Saying all this, I would stay there again because the Hotel and grounds are beautiful and the breakfast is GREAT. Once you find it, GREAT location. The helpful front desk and manager are trying to improve the problems.

The Hotel is amazing, very contemporary and modern and in a great location in the old town of Cuitadella and only a stones throw fro the bustling port which has an array of very good restaurants. The staff were very helpful and service was really good.....there are a couple of things that would have made it better though, the outside pool insnt heated so the water was very cold and you had to order drinks from the bar, even if you were beside the pool.....wouldn't have taken too much effort for the waiter to pop out now and again to take orders.....two very small niggles that didn't really detract from our experience.....definitely going again

Great hotel, two small issues

It is a great hotel, we had a fantastic stay. I would stay again, but there are two complaints; (i) the hotel is located across from a disco, so if your room is on the north side of the building (facing the harbor) you can hear the music/people until late at night and (ii) the cocktails at the hotel bar are not the best and rather overpriced.

Staff were all lovely but untrained and at €15 for a vodka and tonic you have to ask for a slice of lemon. Restaurant food expensive and cold, staff untrained but pleasant. When I explained about the poor soundproofing in my room 22 and that I could not sleep with the disco going on across the street, even after requesting a quiet room was informed that they are refurbishing this room in the winter to add additional soundproofing. I wrote to the manager saying why let these poorly soundproofed room at the same price as a quiet room, why not explain the lack of soundproofing to the guest first. I did not receive any reply. I ended up with 3 sleepless night even after telling reception.

Lovely hotel, but as we had hired a car we found it a little difficult to locate. If you are driving park in the Port Antic for free and walk up the steps by the harbour or if you can find the back entrance to the hotel you can drop your cases. I would definitely stay here again, staff were very helpful, rooms immaculate, most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. As well as a small pool there was also an underground pool, quite unique.

Stylish Sanctuary

We booked two nights at Can Faustino after a busy week staying with family in a villa on the island. We had a wonderful time. The hotel is in a great location, moments from the hustle and bustle of the port and it's easy to explore (and get lost in) the myriad narrow, cobbled streets of Ciutadella. We stayed in a room on the ground floor with a small, private terrace which was beautiful. The room is well equipped and furnished in a contemporary and stylish way. The WC was located within the shower, which was a little quirky but overall a great standard. The service here is exceptional and you receive a very warm welcome. We were met on the street by a valet who parked our car and loaded our luggage. They had anticipated our arrival from an earlier call. This was representative of the service we enjoyed throughout. My only criticism (and this is tiny) is that at breakfast the staff seemed a little over stretched which was at odds with our experience generally. We often waited a while before we could get the attention of the staff to order. This wasn't due to the lack of effort on the part of the waiting staff. More the fact they seemed extremely busy. This is a tiny criticism and I wouldn't hesitate in booking again. A really great hotel.

The garden area, where breakfast and dinner can be taken, is an absolute delight and adjoining it is a decent sized pool/pool area. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Our first visit to Ciutadella in Menorca and we would certainly return.

Can Faustino is a great hotel for couples wanting a peaceful holiday in a central location surrounded by all of the amenities one could require.

The hotel was clean and modern, yet with genuine character. The restaurant provides a good breakfast buffet and the standard of the food in the evening (from the a la carte menu) was extremely good - there is clearly an excellent chef.

The best aspect of the hotel was the staff who were friendly, informative and managed to balance being attentive and yet not intrusive.

Another recommendation for foodies; nearby restaurant called Moli des Comte.

a very fine boutique hotel

Lovely place in the historic and pretty town of Ciutadella. The hotel was restored and opened in 2014 and it is a beautiful place. There are 24 rooms, all different and at several different price levels. Ours, a deluxe room, was spacious and had a king bed, lovely linens and a large roll top bath and a separate waterfall shower - blissful! Service throughout our 9 night stay was flawless and always polite and friendly. Breakfast included in the rate was very adequate. the external areas are well maintained and elegant. There are inside and outside pools both small and a spa. The fittings and general ambience of the hotel are elegant and tasteful. It's not cheap but if your budget allows, you should give it a try - it's very good indeed.

Lovely weekend break with husband. Hotel was fantastic. Couldn't fault anything from the moment we arrived until we left. Very quiet had the pool to ourselves mostly. Might be different in August when it's busy though. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice and cooked if you requested it. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent. We will definitely be returning for longer next time.

Perfect location and stay--just don't follow google map directions once you're very near. You need to park super close at the marina--or you'll end up in front of the hotel on the narrowest road ever, and need a shoe-horn to get your car out.

Les chambres sont propres, simple.
Grosse déception concernant le petit déjeuner, peu de choix, ayant fait plusieurs hôtel a gamme inférieure, j'ai eu beaucoup mieux, un hôtel de cette gamme devrait revoir la copie.

Un séjour inoubliable dans ce havre de paix et de sérénité en plein cœur de la ville.
Nous étions dans la partie secondaire à quelques maisons de l'accueil. Une ancienne maison de l'évêque juste à côté de la cathédrale.
Tout et beau et décoré avec goût.

Ha sido muy agradable nuestra estancia en el hotel, hubiese querido quedarme más tiempo! El servicio es excelente, todos son muy amables y a la escucha.
La comida es excelente, el spa es muy bonito y la ventaja de poder reservar para evitar aglomeraciones es ideal.
Los mejores consejos del concierge.
La habitación muy cómoda, amplia, el baño es como una segunda habitación es muy grande. Las amenidades muy completas.
Lo único que faltaría sería un servicio de turndown por las noches, pero ya es un 100 a nivel servicio.

Quel rafinement !
En plein centre de Ciutadella, une splendide batisse avac patio arboré et piscine. Decoration tres raffinée, petit dejeuner somptueux, chambre magique avec vue sur le port. Meme le Spa creusé dans la roche est sublime. Certains pourraient etre genés par le bruit des fetes alentours maus c'est le prix à payer pour etre au cebrre de cette superbe ville. Bravo à l'equipe internationale qui sont de vrais pro du service.

Très bel hôtel dans une bâtisse idéalement située au port de Ciutadella.

C’est beau, le service est excellent, les petits déjeuners sont parfaits. Bref c’est précis et irréprochable

Our room was formidable but it was in other building. We need to walk 1 block to have breakfast. It was not far but we are not notified when we did the booking
