Place is absurdly perfect! Exceptionally nice staff, incredibly clean and breakfast is not bad for the price. For the cost of the stay and its location, it’s an absolutely incredible deal!!! Just be warned it is a SMOKING hotel; though signs are all over
for ‘no smoking’, it’s a smoking hotel and it’s so bad it’s almost suffocating the cigarette smoke.

Great place to just getaway

We had such a great stay! Cozy but clean feeling cottage. We loved enjoying our coffee by the river, allowed for a lot of just peach and quiet!

Location to the old city was good easy walking distance, however lots of traffic noise (which appreciate is beyond control of owners).
In a residential area, supermarket is in walking distance.

Reception staff were really nice, welcoming and helpful.

Room was compact, very small balcony and could do with some updating, tile paint coming away etc
Very small lift, luggage storage small charge,

Think there was a bed bug problem as took all the necessary precautions to stop mosquitos getting in. Really bad bites during the whole stay.

I didn't eat at the hotel, breakfast was an extra cost.

The staff were very friendly always smiling and helpful in every instant. Property was in a good location. Always felt safe when walking. Very close to Rhodes Old Town. My room was on the third floor and I could hear doors slam and talking and walking in front of my room. This was not the case when I had stayed at the hotel the prior week where my room was on the 1st floor; very quit there. The lift door was very heavy to push open. The breakfast was very good and I would have liked this to be open outside of breakfast at least access to coffee from the dining area would be very nice to have had. Overall i would stay there again.

Basic hotel rooms

I stayed here twice as my ferry service to Symi didn’t line up with my arrival in Rhodes. The hotel is very basic but serves it purpose. Air conditioning is extra if you want it. The rooms are very basic, could use some updating.

It costs five euros per day for air-conditioning. This was not noted on Expedia’s website or on our confirmation even though the Expedia rep insisted it was. The first room’s air conditioning didn’t work even after paying. The second room had a mattress you could feel the springs through, the third room was okay. There were ants in the rooms. Fixtures were in poor repair. The breakfast for 8 euros per person was good. It included an omelet and crepe chef. The hotel is 15 minutes walking distance from the pier and 10 minutes from the southern end of the old city. Staff was professional and polite.

We didn't have much expectations for this hotel, it was very cheap and location is great. We needed something as a base to sleep to visit the island. The hotel is very basic, room very small, decent balcony, off street parking. But it wasn't clean, we had ants running in the room, there was a very strong smell of suage coming from the bathroom (I know in Greece there are some issues with toilette papers down the toilette that can cause a lot of problems and smell, but that was unbearable). There was some (we assumed) blood marks on the bed spread and on the wall. Not a pleasant experience to be honest. The staff was very nice and helpful, if the place was clean and less smelly I would have rate it much higher!

Decent hotel located near old town.

Located just outside of old town and the ferry port. Close to a couple of good local restaurants.

Rooms was clean but have a little too much furniture taking up a lot of space in my room. I found myself squeezing around it.
Other then that it was fine.

I WANT to like it... BUT

Well the first disappointment of course is that they charge per day to have airconditioning. Really! I want to like the place, mainly because of the people working there, but it has some challenges. Rooms are "cleaned" daily but you really want to get stuck in with some kind of abrasive antiseptic powder. It just needs a damned good scrubbing. Sworn off taxis because of previous episodes of theft, and unable to hire a vehicle because of a recent change in Greek licencing policy (you need an international licence), I walked down to Rhodes and the old town (it's 25 mins to the central bus station). I had trouble at first but you adapt..you adapt and learn. If you have a car that would not be an issue and parking seemed easy enough at the hotel. Breakfast was good value, included bacon.

This is a family hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful assisting with sites to visit, car/moped rentals .
The hotel is close to the port only a 15 minute walk.

Misleading from the hotel exterior

Couldn't fault the hotel reception staff. However, lift was unsuitable - very tight squeeze for two people with suitcases (max capacity). Room was not good with one of the bedside lights missing and only the base left in the wall. Shower room had clearly not been cleaned as stale toothpaste at the bottom of the glass, half opened soap left and old shampoo residue everywhere. Shower curtain rail held up with very rusty chain, electric wiring dangling. Only plus was th air conditioning!

My two friends are I were in Rhodes for three nights and we were looking to stay near Old Town for the first evening. Hotel Sylvia is perfect for backpackers looking a good location close to the entrance of the old city. The room was of typical European style - basic, basic, basic. The sheets were a bit dirty - we asked for clean ones with out any issues. Overall, a cheap place to spend the night in a great location.

Bravo Sylvia!

Having booked for two nights we arrived in Rhodes a day early and the hotel took us in at the same night rate for the extra night. The staff were very friendly and most helpful, in particular the receptionist with perfect English. The hotel is very pleasant and attracts a more settled older clientele. The included breakfast is good with excellent coffee. As I had an early morning flight when leaving the night porter saw to it that I had a light breakfast at 0430. The location is convenient for the old city and harbour in a quiet, safe and less touristic area close to local shops and restaurants. I would go there again!

TV taken out of room (repairs ?)We were given best room (4-1) as consolation prize. We spent two weeks exploring the old town. Island tour was main road and wine offers-avoid. Yellow submarine is the best 10 euros you can spend. Huge windows undersea and great diving and fish show. Beats the fancy modern Shark Eye by a mile. Great staff,great family owned hotel. Road train better than hop on hop off bus but both take same route outside the old town.

Terrific small hotel 5 minutes walk from Rhodes Old Town. Staff are fantastic, very welcoming and helpful. When I go back to Rhodes would not consider staying anywhere else.

hotel Silvia is in perifery of Rhodes .It is small familly hotel ,near stadium Diagoras,for those who are interested in football.Near the hotel you will find very good supermarket Papou where you can buy anything you want from food to home equipments.If you like to drink Greek Caffe you ask Panayotis to make it:) if you want luxury avoid Silvia,if you don't want to spend lot of money go to Silvia ,get rentacar and you will be in five minutes in old city of Rhodes

Struttura scelta per la vicinanza al porto, da cui dovevamo prendere un ferry il giorno successivo. Pur essendo un 2 stelle aveva buone recensioni, pertanto, arrivando in tarda serata e ripartendo al mattino presto, ci siamo fidati.
Struttura parzialmente ristrutturata negli spazi comuni.
Stanze pessime, arredi scadenti, muri ridipinti, ma con delle macchie. Porte vecchie e da rifare. Il bagno era in pessime condizioni con ruggine e muffa diffusa.
Al limite della decenza.
Non lo consiglio.
Personale gentile.
Unica nota positiva la posizione.
