Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. The property looks and feels like a private resort, a space to simply get away and enjoy the coast. The room was clean and spacious. However, it was a challenge keeping the room cool on very hot days. Fortunately, the AC helped.

The breakfast was lovely, offering a variety for everyone in our family.

One less than excellent aspect of our experience was how impersonal the staff was in comparison to the other places we stayed on our ten day road trip in Sicily. We were all a bit surprised by this.

Convenient drive to the Valley of the Temples and walkable to beaches. The pool was a lovely bonus and the breakfast buffet standard/good.
Reception ok but a little disinterested. Family apartment room was large and well equipped though bathroom a little outdated. Mirrors too high here and in ladies toilets - I’m average height and could only see the top of my head.

We had a nice stay here and it was very good value. I particularly liked the room size and easy parking. It’s a shame the beach opposite the hotel isn’t maintained.

The hotel was very clean and a good value, but it did not meet expectations for a four-star property. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and felt more like a cot pad on a thin frame than a real mattress. As a pregnant traveler, this made our two-night stay very difficult.

The hotel felt dated. Wi-Fi did not work in our room at all, though it was strong just outside the door. The room had a good view, but it was next to a loud restaurant where karaoke or live music went late into the night one night.

Breakfast was limited, and there were not many places in walking distance. The shower had moldy grout and no shelf for toiletries. The toilet was weak and hard to flush.

That said, the location was convenient for sightseeing with a car in the Agrigento area, and free parking was appreciated. This hotel was clean and worked for a short stay, but we would probably stay somewhere else next time.

Although the staff was very kind, the property location was poor. The beach area was littered with trash and broken glass, and there was foul odor. The hotel property was tidy, but very sparse. Pool furniture was uncomfortable hard plastic, and a sign said no food or drink in the pool area. The room was adequate, but the bed was extremely hard, even after padding it with two blankets. Disappointing.

A car is required to go to restaurants and tourist attractions. The hotel is dated but clean and the sea views from our room balconies were amazing. The beach area around the hotel is not for swimming and not really walkable. A drive to nearby busies beaches like San Leone beach is recommended.
The breakfast at the hotel is basic but recommended since you need to drive to the closest eating places.
The swimming pool was nice and used as the beach nearby is not good for swimming.
We liked our stay at the hotel because we had the convenience of a car and onsite parking.

This is a very clean, family-run hotel in which we have been going to for over ten years in Agrigento. The staff has always been exceptional to us! The pool is one of this hotel’s best features. The staff has given us excellent directions to all local attractions and wonderful restaurants in the area. Our room was quiet and extremely confortable for sleeping! This is our only choice for lodging wherever we are in Agrigento!!

The hotel and staff were both outstanding. Eros was very helpful and even aided us in getting air for our tire.

This property is located right by the sea, views are spectacular. Pool is clean and tended daily... loungers are washed, pool is cleaned and the whole hotel is mopped and cleaned daily. The maids are very efficient and beds are changed every other day, rooms have air conditioning. This is a very basic hotel, no room service and WiFi isn’t great. Absolutely love it here though, breakfast is fabulous, fresh, delicious food daily, coffee to order and the pool is a delight. Please note the family ‘apartment’ has a kitchen area which means you can go to the supermarket (5 mins drive away) and serve up a simple lunch for little money. Very lovely restaurant a short driving distance away. Running routes also good for an early morning/late evening run. Have been here before and will return many more times.

The location was excellent. Walking distance to the beach, and a short drive to the valley of the temples. The pool and breakfast buffet were fantastic. The only issue we had was that the wi-fi was not stable. It seemed to work best in the lobby.

Great pool, good service from the hotel staff. Rooms are a good size and very clean. Breakfast is adequate, typical continental. You will need a car if staying here as San Leone centre is about 3 miles away. We had a fantastic stay here and would definitely recommend it.

I was overly impressed with the facility being spotless and just super clean.
The staff members were conversant in English and this surprised us a lot since most of the other facilities in the area did not have a great command of the language. They gave us excellent choices for restaurants and for local gym facilities!!
We will definitely return to the hotel on our next trip to Sicily! This is a five star hotel in my opinion!

Very lovely hotel. Spacious room with great shower. Wish the room was a little cooler though. Maybe they wait till summer to pump up the air. We were there in the beginning of May. Would definitely recommend. Nice free breakfast and a restaurant is available for diner for a reasonable charge. Ate there one night. The food was good and convenient if you dont want to drive somewhere.

A room with a view

The hotel is situated next to the sea and a bit out of town. In season with the pool open and the pizza bar and resturant across the road it would be wonderful. The welcome from reception staff and quick service makes up for it at any time. The hotel is comfortable and smart inside the entrance area with sofas books and magazines. The rooms are large spacious and comfortable. Ours had a balcony overlooking the sea with a table and chairs..there was also a fridge and basic cooking facilities too. The bed linen and towels were of a high standard. Breakfast was of a good quality and varied, self service in a lovely breakfast room. The food was kept topped up by helpful staff. It was the first hotel we have stayed at in Sicily and we would recommend it highly. It is close to the tourist attraction,,The Valley of the Temples which we really enjoyed. Staff made us feel comfortable and at home and the sunsets were spectacular.

My friends and I (three of us) had lots of space in our two-bedroom apartment (with balcony) at the Antica Perla Residence Hotel. The property, which has a large public lobby/lounge area, is bright and pretty. It is on the beach, but also has its own swimming pool.
We came here for the Valley of the Temples. We could have stayed in the center of Agrigento, which sits on a hill overlooking the temples, but were happy to stay at a beach site, which provided an easier drive to and from the temples.

Basic hotel for the price

Went to Agrigento to visit the Valle di Templi and needed an affordable place, preferably close to a beach with a pool. This place fit the bill. Nothing fancy. Did the trick. My room was small but clean and the A/C worked well even when it was 40 degrees C (100 F). The beach right in front of the hotel is large, but extremely dirty with trash and litter everywhere. It seems people have no regard for the environment here and they just throw their plastic bottles and trash on the ground wherever it suits them. I found this to be very disturbing. There was also a lot of uncollected trash bins overflowing with rubbish along the streets, which is very unsightly. It's really too bad because this is a pretty decent hotel for the price, but it's in a trashy area. The pool at the hotel is nice, but it was very crowed with locals and kids so I really did not want to spend too much time there.

Relaxing after visiting the ruins

Antica Perla was a choice to offset hot and intense days visiting the splendid Greek temples and other ruins near Agrigento. It provided a relaxing pool/beachside scene, much used by families Relaxing after visiting the templeswith young children.
A slight problem was the lack of amuch choice in places to east meals other than breakfast.

The hotel on its own is a decent place - clean, comfortable if a a tad expensive for the location. The location is scary! The whole street is littered with garbage and before entering I was sure that I was in the wrong place. The beach is not a beach, but a dirty piece of beach totally unattended to- quite misleading. The management of the hotel should other insist that the city clean up the area or do it themselves. Unacceptable the way the area leads to the hotel. A shame that the city of Agrigento allows such unkempt areas - dirt all over the place!

We booked late and this hotel was one of few reasonably priced for a family of 4.

Cons: Intermittent strong smell of sewage surrounds the place. Old and basic amenities. Out of the way from the town and tourist sites, and so must have a car. Breakfast is basic.

We had a great stay. We came to see the temples and instead of needing to drive through town traffic we went to the Med. which is on the other side of the temples. Bottom line - good location! We could hear the waves crashing in the Med from our hotel window! Breakfast had eggs, meat and excellent breads. When we checked in the kind woman at the desk said \"welcome to my hotel\". She did not appear to own this large hotel but it said volumes about its maintenance, general condition and overall appearance. The room had a kitchenette! We made pasta! Good grocery stores and restaurants nearby. You did need a car but we met a couple who did not have a car. Beautiful pool!

Nice an very clean family run hotel away from the busy Agrigento, but close to the places worth visiting. A couple of restos at walking distance and quite a lot of very good ones at about 5km.
Try the very spacious rooms with a seaview, absolutely fabulous!
Just a pity that some parts of the local area are not as well maintained as they should be

Beautiful views of the beach and sparkling water from a large sunny terrace. Generous suite with two bedrooms and a full kitchen. Perfect location for a visit to the nearby sites (Valli de Templi!) without staying in the bustling/chaotic town of Agrigento. Friendly staff. Need a car to get to the hotel.

The area is not great but this hotel is right on the ocean. There is no restaurant, no help with baggage, no laundry no dry cleaning, limited maid service, the safe did not work, and there was a smell in the room. The breakfast was not as good as others I have had in B&B's in Italy. The lobby is a bit shabby. The view is good, even from the balconies

The balcony views of the Sea were spectacular. The room had a small kitchen with stove and frig. The frig was stocked with some water, drinks for a few. There is a clothe dryer on balcony, which is convenient. Pool area is wonderful with loungers, tables and umbrellas. The road in was discouraging, but when you arrive it is worth the apprehension of run down area. Breakfast was good

A great find!

It took a bit of finding (as do most addresses in Sicily in my experience!), but this turned out to be a little jewel, a beautiful beach-front hotel with great facilities and brilliant staff. Well outside the noise and bustle of Agrigento and the wonderful Valley of Temples, yet easily in reach of all one could wish for.
An ideal local touring base, I wish we had booked to stay longer and just chill out in relaxing bliss

Wonderful location and property

We were a family of 6 adults and 1 child. We loved this spot! It is out of the way of the hustle and bustle, but the ocean is right across the street - the view from the balcony was stunning, the pool was great as were our rooms! We were only a short drive to the Valley of Temples. It was about a 30 minute drive to city centre. Great place!

A great week in Sicily. We loved San Leone and Agrigento. Some fantastic meals out and would highly recommend Capriccio del Mare if you like seafood in San Leone The hotel was good, nice pool, room was spacious and very clean with a nice view, staff very friendly, breakfast was standard but maybe 3*. A car is a must as there is only one pizzaria within walking distance opposite the hotel.

Lovely Hotel, family friendly

This is a lovely hotel, walking distance from a beach where you can hire beds and umbrellas, the pool is quiet and clean, staff friendly and efficient. It is a little worn and could do with updating, the shower was not very good, but only very small negatives, overall very good.

Functional hotel. Room smelled of bleach. Very few home comforts. WiFi slmost as slow as dial up modem. Breakfast a bit poor, unless you actually want chocolate cake and watery orange squash for breakfast. Pool is nice but whoever thought that sharp gravel was the right choice of ground cover from loungers to the pool needs their head examining. Overall it was fine, but not really what you'd expect from a 4 star hotel.

Outside of town... right on the ocean with a pool. My family of 4, which includes 2 teenage boys, had a full apartment with 2 bedrooms, a master with a balcony for my wife and another room with 2 single beds and a balcony for our boys.

Location was with an easy short drive to a great little beach area with restaurants and shops. The breakfast was good with a good variety of offerings.

The pool was great. Walked the beach in the morning. A nice respite.

Lovely sea-view, right on the beach. It seems remote, but it really isn't. A short walk gets you to shops and restaurants. Rooms are great, and the staff in the family run hotel are all lovely and helpful. A long way from some of Sicily's attractions, but great for viewing the Temples and the Steps, or indeed for simply lounging on the beach.

The city of Agrigento is 15 minutes away. Having a car is a must. The location is across the road from the beach which is fine if you walk a ways to get to a nice area. Surrounding countryside full of garbage. Noisy bar nearby. The room was very large, clean, and sparcely furnished. Not enough kitchen utensils to prepare a meal in its kitchenette. Very little English spoken by employees. Pool clean but piped music very loud. Good restuarant 5 minutes away (Mediterraneo). If your looking for romance - not.

Hotel possession poor.

Hotel over looked a pebble-shingle beach, all the derbies washed up by the sea collected here, Hotel flanked by appalling buildings, Hotel would be better sited 300 meters along the beach where an endless sandy beach is beautiful. A tatty pizza restaurant opposite was closed, Because of the bad possession of this hotel 3 miles to a sea front with restaurants (no Shops) 40% of these were closed. Time of Holiday 22/09/14. the hotel does require a good restaurant because it is a bind having to travel a round trip of 6 miles every evening. Car is a must. H Miller.

Average hotel in a secluded part of Agrigento

We stayed on our journey through Sicily and wasn't that impressed with Agrigento. The hotel is really in the middle of nowhere and it's very basic.
If you want a quiet and tranquil place to rest don't stay by the pool as there was loud music playing from the hotel speakers all day.
The rooms are also very small with walls that are paper thin.
Our suggestion is that you travel 10 minutes further and stay in San Leone. A beautiful town with life!

The hotel is a straightforward beach hotel modern nice lounges good rooms, not luxurious but spacious good balcony. Lovely helpful staff. Location is far from town near a not great beach but beside an area where locals wade in the water to look for octopus so from your window is a beautiful view.
But you need to know the hotel does no meals apart from breakfast and the nearest real resturaunt is too far to walk about 2.2 km. There is a one beach bar which serves basic food in a basic beach bar type setting, pizza some fish which was OK but otherwise you need to drive.

A good base for a Temples visit.

This hotel is on the sea front and offers free parking. We had a lovely view of the hills and the ocean and the room including kitchen was fine for our needs. The bed was comfortable. The staff were charming and helpful. The breakfast was good. A good place to stay to visit the Valley of the Temples without having to negotiate heavy traffic in Agrigento.

Very difficult to find. Deceptive info because it's not in Agrigento town and much closer to San Leone a pleasant resort.
Breakfast room but no restaurant. Great restaurants in San Leone though.
The beach is very dirty with no visible cleaning service.
Pool was clean though no towels available.
Staff was very friendly and keen to help.

This hotel has a great location across from the beach and a huge swimming pool. There is free parking, free Internet and a great complimentary breakfast. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. They suggested some great local restaurants to try, and I would also recommend them, as prices very reasonable and food delicious. Very close to the Valley of the Temples which you can see from the road. There is a small stove, oven, refrigerator and sink with the utensils to use if you want to cook. You definitely want to get the beach view which has a nice balcony with tables and chairs to sit out on.

Splendid hotel

We loved our stay here. The location was magnificent, the staff most helpful, the rooms very comfortable and spacious, with the lovely sound and sight of the sea. Everything was good. The restaurant nearby that the hotel recommended was the best we found in our four weeks in Italy staying in several cities. We were very sorry to leave.

Amazing view!

This place was amazing! Easy to locate, secure parking, we'll maintained facilities, friendly and accommodation staff. The views were amazing and very relaxing. Beach access just a walk down the road... Overall impressive!

Hotel was difficult to find; even with our Garmin Navigator it took us over 45 minutes from the time we entered
the city to find the hotel. The beach is not very attractive. It has garbage and trash scatter along the rocks.
The internet did not work from our room, but worked well from the lobby. The air conditioner in our room did not work, but it was cool enough to open a window, but the howling sound as the wind pierced the shutters made a
shrilling noise that kept us up most of the night. The bathroom window was broken at one of the hinges so
we could not open that window. The telephone did not work so we could not call the reception to complain about anything. Otherwise, it was a good stay.

The best hotel ever

We thought we'd seen it all, but we were wrong! We booked this hotel following the suggestion of our friends (rather picky people in matters of convenience) and what a revelation! Although we expected it to be excellent, it was beyond. We spent one week in September at The Antica Perla Residence Hotel of Agrigento, and we could have stayed forever. There is so much to see and so much to enjoy! Everyone could not have been happier. The rooms, beds, breakfast, pool, service, and inherent Sicilian hospitality of staff and family-employees made our Sicilian vacation unforgettable. We can see why this grand hotel is given highest scores from all its guests. Where can you swim in an outdoor heated pool just few steps from Mediterranean Sea with the magnificent and unique Valle dei Templi and snowcapped, expiring on the incandescent lava Etna volcano surrounding you? Definitely breathtaking views! A great place to get away and live the good life in this extraordinary Hotel run by a fantastic person, Mr. Antonio, master of his craft, generous and magnanimous person, in this fascinating and charismatic town of Agrigento with its 2.5 thousand-year of mind-boggling history (was founded in 581 BC by ancient Greek colonists), the birthplace of Luigi Pirandello, the greatest Italian of the XX century.

Great Hotel in Agrigento

Great base for visiting the Valley of the Temples

This hotel was a real bargain! We had a big, well-appointed room with a balcony (side view of the sea); it also had a small kitchen and a table for meals. The hotel is contemporary in style, has an outdoor pool, parking in the grounds and provided good breakfasts in the Italian style. It was a great location for visiting the Valley of the Temples - better than staying in Agrigento itself (which. although worth a visit, is not easy to get around in). The only downside is the location, which, although right by the sea, is in a relatively unattractive residential area. Staff were helpful in providing information, including location of restaurants (the best of which we found in nearby San Leone) because the hotel doesn't serve evening meals. Or, of course, we could have prepared a simple meal in our room using its small kitchen.

No beach facilities or service at the beach. No restaurant on the premises, however the people at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The area around the hotel is not attractive and the cleanliness needs to be improved (garbage not picked up) More info should be available on the activities in the area

Nice hotel on the Mediterranean

We spent one night here while exploring the Southeast part of Sicily. The hotel was clean and modern. The room had a balcony overlooking the Sea. The view was grand. The beach itself (not part of the hotel) was disappointing, but the water was nice. The location was reasonably near to the sites in the region, All in all, for the price we paid, it was a good deal.

Beautiful views

What a brilliant hotel overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The room was spacious and clean.The staff were very friendly and helpful even giving us a lift one night into San leone centre and offering to bring us back if required. There is a very good pizzeria next door which we ate at a few times, there is also a good restaurant a the top of the road (30 min walk) We used it has a base to discover this side of Sicily, close to the valley of the temples,would advise you hire a car though. The swimming pool was clean and big and there were plenty sun beds to use.

Not what we expected

We booked two days but left after the first day. The neighborhood was not very good and we were very isolated. You could not walk to any restaurant because there weren't any close by and the area was dicey. Beach was not really usable and dirty. A lot of garbage and surprisingly graffiti around. Due to these conditions we left early and did not stay our second day there. The staff was pleasant but could not overcome our disappointment with the location. We strongly suggest renting a car if you are planning on staying at this hotel as nothing is close by and cab fare ran about 20 Euros each way to the city proper.

The hotel is good, they have great balconies and beautiful views of the sea, but it was very hard to find and the area was not to my liking. We had a car so it was okay but if you do not have car it is not for you.

The hotel is about 15 minutes from the Valley of Temples and right on the beach. Our room faced onto the beach also over looking the pool. The next town over San Leon had great restaurants also located on the beach. We really enjoyed our stay. The staff was also very helpful with directions & things to do in the area.

Great ocean front -maybe a bit remote.

Great place.
Right on the ocean with balconies in most rooms. Secure metal blinds so you can leave the windows open, close the blinds and listen to the ocean all night.
Small kitchen great for making a light dinner and bfast. May need to use it as quite a remote location and local restaurants shut in off season.
