I really enjoyed my stay. The staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for me. I felt very welcome there. The bar sold some great local beers and the dinner and breakfast choices were great. Looking forward to staying there again.

A stay built around our dogs proved to be perfect. Great friendly atmosphere and top quality produce in the meals and breakfasts. Very thoughtfully provided an information sheet of village walks for the dogs also spare bowls , towels and treats. The evening meal menu was very appealing and the dog menus were a lovely touch. The room was a decent size with all conveniences and a very fluffy bed. Definitely recommended for travels with your favourite furry friends so that’s 5 stars from us.

Had a fantastic stay over the Easter weekend at The Masons Arms and will definitely be back! The staff were super friendly, food delicious, and beds very comfy. The hotel is super pet friendly and lots of nice touches like dog bowls provided and a Dog Treats menu at the bar. Location is great for exploring The Cotswolds and free parking right outside the pub. Will be recommending this place to friends and family for sure!

From the moment we arrived the staff were attentive and friendly, after a 3 and half hour journey we had a lovely roast dinner and a beer which went down very well. We were then shown our room which was perfect, and matched the quaint pub, the bed was comfortable. tea, coffee, milk, biscuits, & water readily available, en-suite with shower and t.v. Breakfast was lovely all fresh and local produce. Final evening we had a lovely meal which coincided with my husbands birthday, the dessert came out with a candle and staff and guests singing happy birthday ! We had our final breakfast before setting off home, and a quick chat with the morning staff, will definitely be returning again. We never had an issue with parking as if you couldn’t park outside the pub there were places to park down the side road nearby. The pub is very pet friendly and it was lovely to see all the little doggies come in with their owners, to be greeted with a treat from the sweetie jar. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay perfect you, you really do a great job.!!

The room was small but spotless! The breakfast however was disgusting! Waited more than 1/2 hr ! Bacon was like cardboard ! Sausage tasted awful , one bite and should have spat it out but swollowed . Poached eggs 1 ok 1 hard! Enormous amount of muchrooms. Butter for toast when opened was liquid !! Definitely would not recommend! - refund would be appreciated. Felt sick all morning. Husbands wasn’t any better - he had the full English.

We had a really lovely stay in one of the rooms above the pub. The location was very convenient for exploring the Cotswolds, and the pub itself had a nice atmosphere – great for a drink or dinner in the evening.

There is no car park and only on-street parking. When we arrived around dinner time there was nowhere to park, although the road cleared later and we were able to park outside overnight.
The room was comfortable overall, with a very comfy bed. However, it was disappointing that the room didn’t have the exposed beams or Cotswold stone that were advertised, which was one of the main reasons we booked. The bathroom was small but fine, although there was some discoloured mastic on the floor which was a bit off-putting. One bedside light was broken, and the other couldn’t be turned off without the main light being on. There were also several hairs left in the bathroom and shower on arrival.

Check-in felt a bit rushed and unclear. We were shown to the room but weren’t given any information about checkout time, WiFi, breakfast, or what time the doors would be locked overnight. The staff member showing us to the room seemed quite stressed. On checkout, we weren’t asked how our stay was or given an opportunity to leave feedback.

Overall, it’s a fine place to stay for a Cotswolds trip, but there’s room for improvement in customer service, cleanliness, and some maintenance. It would also have been much better if the room had matched the description when booking.

This is a brilliant place to stay. Lovely ancient pub, very cosy. Food is delicious ! The waitresses are adorable and can't do enough for you.
Our room was spacious with a good mattress. A bonus in the bathroom: ginger-scented toiletries!
Only downside: deliveries at 6am, just under our window...

The Masons Arms is a delightful country pub with rooms that is a charming example of Cotswold tradition and tastefully updated rooms. The pub itself serves very good and reasonably priced traditional pub food in a traditional and quaint setting. Service is friendly and efficient. The inclusive traditional Full English Breakfast was generous and spot on. We would certainly return. A special mention of Kate who was very helpful and friendly.

Nice quaint hotel with some annoying features.

Nice quaint old building which has been upgraded into a very comfortable hotel. The room was quit a good size with comfortable bed and clean modern ensuite. Unfortunately there was no air-conditioning and as the weather was very hot it was a bit too warm even with the floor standing fan which had been provided. The room we were in was beside a water tank which had a quit noisey pump running when people were using the sink or showers in their rooms. This was quite unusual for a hotel and quite annoying. The breakfast was superb with an extensive menu and was served by the very friendly staff. Parking at the hotel was quite limited with only 3 spaces and then on road parking. Overall we enjoyed our stay but would probably not stay there again.

Brilliant Stay & Brilliant Staff

We stayed at the Masons Arms for a wedding at the Cripps Barn and it was a short 10 minute taxi to the venue from this wonderfully quaint little stay in Mersey Hampton. Parking was free and easy, and the staff were SO incredibly helpful with finding us a taxi last minute and letting us check-in a little early to get changed. The room was great, water and shower extras provided and the breakfast the next morning was brilliant. Couldn't recommend any higher, but just make sure you book taxis in advance where possible as the companies usually have to travel from Circencester to pick you up!

Nice building, above a pub-restaurant, kind and friendly service. Pet friendly. The room was rather small, without even a small wardrobe. The bathroom was really minimal, with the toilet practically wedged under the sink.
Excellent starting point during our visit between Wiltshire and Gloucestershire, good for a weekend.
Good breakfast overall, both in terms of quality and the range of items on offer. Overall, a good evaluation of the structure from my point of view. In my opinion, the cost was slightly high considering the service offered.

What a little gem. We booked for one night, great value, staff amazing, and beautiful location in picturesque village. We booked a table for Sunday lunch and it was the best roast we’d had in a long time. My only comment would be bar closed early on a Sunday night but bar staff still served is a drink to have in our room. Would definitely recommend and stay again

The room was small, low ceilings in the room and bathroom.
The bed is just a double, 4'6'' whic in this day and age is on the small side given most of us now enjoy sleeping in 5' beds at home if not bigger.
The evening meal was very disappointing, poor quality and the choice very much along the lines of so many other mediocre pubs, burger, fish and chips etc.
Breakfast was also poor, Overcooked scambled eggs, cheap bacon and overcooked poached eggs. The coffee was undrinkable.

We had the room cleaned well after the first night, however the subsequent service was not as great - room was barely tidied up. We have eaten here a few times because the food was always good. I asked for the 'special' venison to be medium rare and got it well done. It looked like it had been on a plate under heat for a while as one side was super tough. We tried to get a drink after the meal and were told that the bar closed at 09:45! There was no warning for this which surprised us. The rooms were not great. a bright LED from the radiator illuminated the room, lots of road noise and paper thin walls meant plenty of sound coming into my room and overall it was a very bad sleep. On a positive, the lady who served breakfast was superb!

This is probably the best pub I have stayed in especially as it has first class service for dogs.

A lovely looking little pub. They were great in putting us at the end of the corridor as we asked for a quiet spot with our dog. The food was excellent, we ate dinner and breakfast there. We were told you couldn't check in between 3 and 5pm but this didn't seem to be the case. The room was comfy and clean (little dust around the bottom of the bedside tables). The bed was comfy and clean. The blinds were a bit fiddly and the cord kept coming off them. The shower was very powerful!

The Mason's Arms is a beautiful little country hotel in a delightful part of England. We stayed here to attend a family wedding in the nearby Cripps Barn.
The rooms were lovely and well equipped. Staff were very helpful and the breakfast was fab. Would 100% recommend The Mason's Arms for a stay in the Cotswolds.

Lovely setting

Nice place but entire experience spoilt by night time noise from either cold/hot water booster pump or saniflow pumping station chiming up intermittently!!
Spoke to member of staff, but no positive response??

Lovely establishment...with a warm welcome

Warm welcome, tasteful comfortable room, lovely evening meal. WIFI a bit patchy due to stone walls but to be expected. Lovely breakfast but not severed until 8.30 which was a little late for business people.
