We always happily seem to get the same room so although I cannot comment on any other room, room 211 has consistently been clean and comfortable. It is well appointed with a bath, which I personally love as so many hotels just squeeze in a shower. The check-in is friendly, professional and fast so it was only moments before the bags could be dumped and the reason for a visit could begin.

Cosy, contemporary hotel in delightful gardens.

A nice cozy hotel with a reasonably priced restaurant/bar and snug bar. No need to go into Louth to find a restaurant. Plus an outdoor bar. Plus an onsite beauty salon. Our ground floor twin room was newly refurbished with contemporary decor. It had a large bay window seat looking onto the delightful gardens.

Only stayed one night , the hotel is nice ,we booked the Executive King room but no fridge in the room which is a bit of a let down for us, the room was clean. Did not like the fact that they asked us for payment when we booked in but we had already paid Hotels.com. Breakfast was an extra £16.50 per person but did not think this was worth the price, I asked if the salmon was dry salmon or wet , was told it was dry but when my breakfast came it was the wet kind , they did change it for me not a problem but then I had to wait whilst husband was eating his breakfast, did not have an option for just toast and tea so we had to pay the full price. This let them down for us although the staff were pleasant enough we had to ask again for more coffee and hubby never got asked if he wanted anymore tea.

It was okay, average. The room was lacking, stains on chair, hard spring matteress, yellowed non slip bath mat and stratches on door and walls. The hotel is nice elsewhere especially downstairs and they have clearly taken a very old hotel and tried to do it up. But for the price id expect these things to be fixed. Warning there is no lift which we were not aware of and no offer of any help when told this( we had our 5 month old in a pram when this conversation happened).

Room was outdated, rundown and needs attention. We staying in room 101. Ripped wallpaper, scraped skirting boards. Dirty brown carpet. Damaged furniture. Room door was broken and key lock wasn’t secure. Leaves all in corridor. Such a shame because this hotel used to be lovely. Bar area was nice. Staff were friendly.

Restaurant and salon fabulous. Room dated . Headboard leather peeling off and room general tired .
No lift or assistance to first floor ( I had a lot of bags as I was attending a wedding)

Visited my son who had a lodge which was fabulous .
Think money has been invested in lodges and not hotel rooms
Carpet shabby on stairs
But all staff were friendly and helpful

We stayed as a couples treat and booked the luxury double room. The room was very clean when we got there with complimentary items such as tea/ coffee/ hot chocolate/ water/ sparkling water and bathroom items. The bed was extremely comfy to sleep in and the hotel was quiet. The only thing I would say negative was the layout getting to the room was a nightmare and we did get lost.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Several things stood out. One was the cleanliness of the room and bathroom.
Another was the bar/dining room staff both in the evening of our arrival and at breakfast.
Reception were friendly, polite and helpful throughout the brief stay.
The room was not large but the bed was very comfortable.
The only detrimental factor was no mini bar/small fridge to keep drinks cool during this heatwave!
The meals were really very good and we would recommend this hotel.

We were only there for one night and we left the hotel in the evening. However, staffs were friendly when we did interact with them. Breakfast was nice. The grounds are lovely from what we saw and our room was nice. Dog friendly hotel and we had ours with us. Only concern with that was we couldn't find a waste bin for their mess after a little walk. Would definitely stay again.

Booked 4 nights in Executive Double. First night no sleep due to noise in loft of room 206. Told reception got moved to 212, an ACTUAL executive double!

After 2nd night extended 4 more via app. Checked with receptionist that booking was received - yes received.

Following morning told that I was to pack as room had been sold to a function guest. Extension had not been confirmed and sorry for receptionist mistake. Great.

Room supposed to be deep cleaned but found spiders, webs, hair clumps and finger/toe nails.

On the plus side - breakfast and serving staff very nice. Very good food in the evenings.

Great stay and felt Covid-19 secure. Breakfast was amazing with lots of choose. The Grimsby smoked haddock was very good and so was the Lincolnshire sausage as part of the full English my wife had. Look forward to staying again when I am in the area.

Great except for wierd rooms.

Great food, great staff but bad room! 'Executive' double not executive! Decor in black and battleship grey. Weird furniture. No usable seats or chairs. Bathroom very basic with small bath and cracked sink. Facing service road with very noisy fan from 06.00 to 22.00! Do not book rooms 200 to 208.
Apart from the rooms it is great place to stay.

The rooms had not be thoroughly cleaned, even with this covid.
We reported dirty kettle, TV remote,dusty lamps and grubby shower/bath.
Used 3 rooms and all were dirty, and the beds were hard so slept on top of the duvet so couldn't I feel the lumps.
However, the hotel was in nice grounds, nice breakfasts and staff went out if their way to help, very nice people.
But sorry wouldn't stay again.

We were greeted well upon arrival and check in was smooth. We booked an executive double and the room appeared nice with the exception of the bathroom which had liquid down the tiles which had not been cleaned off from the previous guests. We advised the staff and were upgraded to the honeymoon suite!

The room was presented well but very cold as the radiator was behind the lovely but thick crushed velvet curtains. We slept well, the bed was comfortable and quiet.

In the morning we found the jacuzzi bath did not work or the TV at the foot of the bath. A little disappointing but we did not feel we could complain as the room was a free upgrade however if you had booked this room you may have not been so pleased.

Overall the stay was okay, the staff are lovely and the hotel is nice. Just a little more care required in the cleaning and maintenance.

A little gem of a hotel in Louth

What can I say.......came here for a overnight stay whilst on a business trip and what a little gem this place is. Amazing food, well presented and well proportioned. Good menu to chose from, you’ll be spoilt for chose if I’m honest. All the food I saw coming out of the kitchen looked amazing. The restaurant itself is lovely and cosy with the fire roaring away. The friendly staff were extremely attentive and ensure I was well looked after, nothing was too much trouble for them. When booking I had booked a single room and on arrival the receptionist kindly up graded me to an executive room on the ground floor. A lovely room, well appointed with all the comforts one would need. I don’t come this way much however I will most definitely come again when visiting the north In the future. I highly recommend this hotel for a small break away. Thank you.

Strong smell of fish off putting.

Nice hotel, obliging staff however spoilt by the overwhelming smell of fish cooking from the minute we walked into reception and lingered the whole weekend. Pity. The door into the bathroom was in need of a good clean because of the dirty finger marks. I am surprised housekeeping haven’t noticed it previously.

The windowsil in our 'family room' was the perfect height for our toddler to sit on but the window did not have any restrictor on its opening, nor a lock, so we had to keep it closed and keep a close eye on it which was a little less relaxed than i had hoped. The bathroom smelled of fumes, we tried the bathroom window open and closed but it did not clear the smell, which was a concern especially as we couldn't have the lower bedroom window open, so we ensured the door was closed overnight. Upon arrival i noticed a plastic bag covering over the smoke detector in the room. We mentioned these things to reception and they indicated that none had been mentioned before, although they also said the reception smelled of fumes if they had their window open. If you stay in room 207 with a young child please be extremely careful around the window.
