A nice friendly B&B hotel in Cleethorpes

I needed somewhere near to the seafront for an overnight stay, and was delighted by my decision to stay here.
A warm welcome on arrival with good parking to the rear of the property.
A clean well appointed en suite room with Sky TV and a comfortable bed. A good quality and value breakfast in the morning.
A genuinely friendly staff team made the stay a pleasure.

This place is a little diamond. Stayed here before. Left an item of clothing there, phoned n they had saved it for me. So went to pick it up n decided to stay the night. Always nice to stay at the Dovedale. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable and check-in is a breeze. I find the hotel clean and quiet and the jacuzzi a big plus...easy to operate as well. Only downside was the mattress..I could feel the springs, but I slept well nonetheless. Highly recommend this establishment and will surely return, as I've done over the years.

Nice hotel. I've stayed here several times over the years.
Good rooms that are maybe slightly dated but still clean and well maintained. There is a bar and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
There are a limited number of parking spaces at the rear of the hotel that can fill up pretty quickly although there is plenty of other parking nearby.
The Dovedale is virtually on the seafront with restaurants, bar and shops all within a minute or two walk.
I would be happy to recommend the Dovedale and will definitely stay again when working in the area.

Receptionist asked me to wait from a back room. I waited and then she said from her back room - didn't welcome me, didn't get up from her back room. Told me to complete a registration form on a stand by the front door. I could operate TV so manager came up and didn't wait for me to unlock room door used his master which alarmed me somewhat. The hotel is very worn and bed and pillows very cheap looking, worn and very lumping and hard, bathmat worn. Bathroom had large bath (not inviting) shower over was not very powerful. When checking out I saw the registration details, telephone number name and address of another guest who checked in after me left out by the back door.. So they don't look after personal data. Parking was available on the street and a car park nearby.

Down stairs rooms were not to bad, but our bedroom was dirty, carpet wanted burning. We could not use the shower as it was also dirty, marks all on the radiator, and skirting boards .
Taps on sink broken. The pillows on the bed rock hard. Would not stay there again if they paid us.

We had a lovely stay the staff was polite and the beds was compfy there is all the tea/coffee you need or want only downfall is that its very un clean and the windowwill wasnt fitted it was damaged and i looked out the window put my hand on the wondowsil to look outside and it compleatly come off and made me fall over onto my knee and causing some pain and the toilets underneath behind and round the bottom was so thick with pure black mold. Last minute break

Great location, centrally placed for bars, food and the seafront, but only on street parking. Lovely bar and sitting area in the reception. Booked the standard double room. Although it was clean and comfortable, it was very small and I wouldn't stay more than 1 night in that type of room for that reason. Too cramped to move hardly. Also room was extremely hot despite the heating being off, so was uncomfortable to sleep in. Am guessing it's worth paying more for a larger room. We had cooked breakfast, plenty of choice, presented and tasted very nice. The lady serving was friendly. Will return again, if not to stay, just for a drink as its worth a visit for that in its nice surroundings.

Webs all over the ceiling and windows. A lot of webs. Hairs in the sink and bathroom floor. I had breakfast booked but I could not bring myself to eat here. Room 105 is at the rear of property. Humming noise all night - not a good nite.

I only came here as a last minute to try and finish some work off and it was absolutely lovely. The place was clean, the breakfast was nice, all the staff were lovely and friendly.

Everything is within walking distance away from the hotel and there are so many food options around to either eat out or have as a takeaway.

A truly fabulous hotel very close to everything!

Really fabulous hotel in a very convenient location close to all the action. The room we stayed in was very comfortable, clean and quiet. We both slept very well as the beds were really lovely. The hotel is less than a 5 minute walk from all the shops in Cleethorpes and the other way the beach front. Brilliant free parking at the back of the property. The reception staff let us park the car there after we checked out, which was very kind of them! All of the staff were very friendly, polite, chatty and helpful. The breakfast was superb. We literally couldn’t fault it. Best sausages ever. Thanks so much Dovedale Hotel for an amazing stay. We will definitely be back!! 😊👍

Spa sounded like an old tractor compared to new bath spas so no way to relax in it.

We only stayed one night in a standard double room. It was clean and comfortable and had everything you needed, hairdryer, iron/board storage. Tea/coffee TV. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean.
The small bar area was lovely. Lots of lamps, jewellery by local artists for sale, not sure if this is a good or a bad thing. The staff were so welcoming and nothing was to much trouble. Katie on the front desk went out of her way to help us re parking and answering our questions re area. If I was to be picky it’s the regular breakfast @ £7.50 child’s portion, mushrooms cut small and thin almost translucent and poached egg hard. That said we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back.

Staff were lovely and so was our room ( we had a balcony room) . However, the hotel needs some TLC. Carpets on the stairs and bedrooms need updating , our carpet and curtains had cigarette burns . Mattress and pillows were lumpy and really need replacing urgently. If the hotel are going to charge £140 per night it’s needs to be much better presented.This said , Loved the whirlpool bath and the balcony and would return if refurbished, as enjoyed the stay overall.

We visited this really well located hotel (two mins from the promenade) this weekend just gone. Everything was great including the room, but the real stars were the team running the place.

We arrived at around 9pm and everyone was friendly and welcoming. Everything was in order with our room and well organised despite our late arrival.

Breakfast was super tasty, and check-in / check-out was super quick and easy. Even our pooch felt welcome! What’s not to like…

Will definitely stay again on our next visit.

Great stay at this hotel last weekend with the wife and toddler. The staff could not do enough for us, the hotel is ideally situated for the beach, pier and local cafes/restaurants etc. The bar area and reception areas were really nice and welcoming. Will 100% stay again. The rooms themselves were clean and spacious and having Sky TV in the room was a bonus. The decor in the rooms is a little dated but thats a matter of personal taste and didnt detract at all from a great stay.

We've stayed here several times before. My Grand daughter loves this hotel but this wasn't to the usual standard. The reception staff are lovely, friendly and helpful but the restaurant which had served excellent meals was closed and the breakfast was a nightmare. The receptionist (manageress?) tried her best to help but it took almost 40 minutes just to have our order taken and during that time several other groups of guests arrived and were served and eating breakfast before our order was even taken. One guest who had sat waiting for 45 minutes for her order to be taken was actually told that she was too late to order because breakfast finished at nine o'clock although she had arrived in the dining room at 8.15. The receptionist (manageress?) was really apologetic and assured us that the problem had been dealt with but sadly too late for us.

Very overpriced for state of the room. Bathroom was very poor and in need of renovation, the room in general is in need of some improvement. I got double charged for my stay as the girl who booked me in hadnt realised i had pre-paid however was quick to rectify once i realised. The staff were very nice and welcoming. When we returned to the hotel about 11.30pm on a sat night we found a bloke drunk unconscious on the floor half behind the back room, tried to help lift him but wasnt moving. 4 days later the refund for double payment still not cleared. Overall okay but not for the price paid, had better travelodges

I cant think of anything I didn't like about this little Hotel. It looks like it was 2 or 3 houses originally but has been converted leaving some lovely period features such as coving still evident. The room was well laid out and very comfortable. The TV was large and modern with more channels than many more much larger Hotels we have stayed in! It had a large bath and a shower again an improvement on many other larger Hotels. The breakfasts are great too!! It is situated in a convenient position for the towns facilities. Only a few hundred yards from the pier. I would definitely stay at at the Dovedale again.

There for Fantasticon 2019 which was brilliant. Cleethorpes is worth a visit, after a fall (I have a guide dog and fell foul of a rather large drop off when taking him \"off piste\" for his abutions) I would not recommend Friday night Grimsby A and E :) Local taxis very helpful too

Overall the hotel was fantastic. However we were in room 110 with a front balcony which was lovely but the bed frame needs tightening as every time you roll over in the night it makes an almighty creak and wakes you up. And we needed an early check out at 7.30 on the Sunday there was no receptionist on until 8 the fantastic waitress in the restaurant helped us whilst also serving breakfast

The hotel was stunning, the kids got given an option to have single or bunk beds which was nice. Extremely clean and accommodating. Will definitely be visiting again
