Lovely property and surroundings..Peaceful location with good parking including electric chargers.
Friendly staff.
We had an executive room in the old stable block. Very comfortable. Strong shower and water very hot.
A couple of minor points that would be easy to remedy: a shelf or basket to put shampoo in rather than on the edge or the bath and a towel hook within easy reach of the shower.

Room was good, however night porter service appalling. Was advised on check in if coming back after 11 there is a night porter service to let you in. We arrived back at 12.10 so needed to use this option, but the number on the door no one answered, the main hotel number that you chose the reception option, no one answered, we were outside in the cold for approximately 20 mins trying to get in. We also banged the door and the doorbell wasn’t working. We went round the back where some residents were still in the bar and they let us in after showing our room key to show we were staying there. The issue was that the night porter was in the bar so wasn’t answering any telephones but surely there must be a mobile that is on them at all times so this issue doesn’t arise?? Appreciate they may be wandering around the hotel but how do you make contact without them having a mobile on them?? Service needs to be improved!

Had a meal inn the Pig & Whistle, having the Beef and Ale pie in suet pastry. Very crisp crust that melted away when shown the knife. Pudding was lemon meringue!

Had a nice beer as well.

Will be back!

The property doesn’t have ac. The windows on the ground floor rooms open just a slither and it was hot and stuffy despite the fan, which I had to set up myself. The bathroom wasn’t cleaned properly. Clearly not the hotel’s fault, but noisy night with people coming back late. Food was very good though.

A little bit tired in places

The bed was too hard and the exterior lights were left on all night so it was like trying to sleep in the daylight.
Staff in general very good apart from the odd one or two that made us feel a bit embarrased when we charged to our room number that was a little odd. As if we should not be doing it. Evening meal was lovely and also plentiful. Breakfast was expensive for the quality of the food on offer. We ended our stay a day early owing to the lack of sleep due to the hard bed ( even with a topper on it) shower has mould around the edges of the door and screen and you could write in the dust on one of the table tops in the room we never saw any room servicing being carried out whilst were there. would have been nice for some kind of discount gesture from the hotel for our ending out stay but I guess a business is a business and they have overheads to pay. Nice place. Nice location just a bit tired in some areas

Nice setting but room had no heating.

This was the second time I'd stayed at this hotel and both stays have been enough for me to decide never to stay there again. This trip I was given the family room which has no shower and had no heating. We were advised about the heating but promised a plug in heater. This never materialised. The layout of the room was bizarre. Just a bath in the middle of the room but the room was so bitterly cold that you couldn't even bear to undress to get in the bath.

Each time I've stayed here something seems to go wrong so in spite of the lovely setting and the nice staff, it just isn't worth it. The family room was an absolutely crazy price for a room with no heating.

I work in the area regularly but will be finding somewhere else to stay.

Last minute booking as Hotels.com had double booked me and was stranded after driving 2 hours to get to original booking.

Healing Manor is a character building which has all that you need with a restaurant, bar area and nice garden area...i do question the '36 Acre' manicured gardens statement as this is limited to outside the restaurant area unless clambering around the overgrown areas by the pond area is part of this.
Generally a very good stay, unfortunately there was a wedding booked in with the only room available was behind the reception/function with some sound ingress of music, this was tolerable given the lateness of booking on the day.

Room was dingy outdated and not very clean, carpet stained and sink cracked.Very noisy due to a stag and hen party, if it wasn't for the brilliant staff in the restaurant, we would have walked out. Noise, including abusive language carried on until the early hours of the morning. Breakfast was cold and staff didn't know how to work the coffee machine. Very disappointing visit. Very disappointed. Our room was filthy, full of dust . The carpets had mess
all over it and definitely not seen a hoover , in a long time . Both my sister and I suffer with our breathing problems . We had to have it cleaned by the lovely lady , that was on reception. No other room available. This should never have happened. We stayed in the main house and the carpets all over, definitely not seen a hoover in a long time too .
The fire alarm went off at 4am in the morning. It was like a carry movie . People were crying , getting nasty and the piercing sound of the fire alarm was terrible. The night porter had No idea how to silence it. It went on for over an hour .
Thank god it wasn’t a real fire . I dread to think of the chaos. It would of caused .
A lot of our family live in Healing village and we have stayed a lot in Healing manor for all different events. This isn’t the first time we have been disappointed with the cleanliness of the main house. We were given 20% discount but that’s nothing to what we paid . We traveled up from Devon for a lovely weekend away to a very special family event in the village and it was dampened , by the whole stay . Very disappointed customer 😢

I booked a junior suite which was lovely. Unfortunately the room was stifling and the outside temperature was only 20 degrees. There were no windows, only two glass doors which I had open while I was inside, but obviously not while I slept.
Two fans were provided but I really struggled to sleep.
The room would be uninhabitable if it was 25+ outside.
Other than this everything was great.
Food in the pub and whistle was excellent, but a little pricey. £11.50 for desserts?

A little gem just requires a little polish

The best thing about this place is the staff - very very friendly and helpful. The hotel is a little tired and if you have a room next to the court yard then it can be noisy late at night and early in the morning. I would stay here again but request a quieter room (round the side or back) They have free EV charging, just plug and play and more than ample parking. The food in the Pig & Whistle was excellent although a little on the expensive side. Breakfast was spot on, many choices and high quality. Overall and 8.5 out of 10 - Once again thanks to the staff for making us welcome.

Great stay for the Diana Ross tribute night. Beautiful room (1856) and the bottle of Prosecco was a lovely touch. Staff on reception were brilliant and the bar staff at the event on the evening were superb.

On my first nights stay here I was in a junior suite as that was the only room available that night, this room was fantastic quality with a four poster bed and a luxurious bathroom. The second night I was in a Executive double room which was also very nice and finished to a high standard.
The rooms are nice here but the food from the restaurant is amazing and worth going for this alone. Both breakfast and evening meals were outstanding and very good value.

Check in was easy. Large car park. Room was in the main building. Clean with a great shower. Had to ask for complimentary shampoos ect as there were none in the room. The next day shampoos were replenished but not complimentary water. Meal in the Pig and Whistle was okay there was a leaflet on our table saying you got a free drink with your fish and chips on a Friday. As it was a Friday I checked with the waiter, when we got our bill at which he promptly ripped up the leaflet and told that the promotion had finished. All other staff were very friendly and the grounds are pleasant. We had a good nights sleep. All in all good but could be improved.

We had a single night stay in a suite along with dinner and breakfast. Food was excellent on both occasions and the room was very large with a great king sized bed. Only faults we could see were that the carpets outside the room needed replacing and some of the furniture in the room was passing beyond the shabby chic look. Would stay again especially for the food.

Whilst it was large, the shower within the bath was very small with a tiny round curtain for containing the water within the bath. It’s a pity they didn’t take advantage of the room size, to build a free standing shower.

Service and food great but avoid the stable rooms

Great looking building and interior of the main building was really nice. Service is great and the food is too, the issue comes if you get a room in the stable block.

No natural light unless you want people looking directly into your room from a seating area, felt like a prison cell. Furniture is worn with broken handles on units, just generally poor condition. There was a general mismatch of furniture and a fridge on the floor in the corner of the room.
The stable block rooms do not match with the image Healing Manor is trying to convey to be honest and I wont be recommending them.

A stay in the main house I'm sure would have been great but the stables are a no go for me ever again.

Little gem of a hotel - we will be back!

My husband and I stayed here for a night and we had a great time. The rooms are lovely and clean with good views. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. We sat outside the Portman for some drinks in the afternoon and then went for a meal at the Pig and Whistle in the early evening. The food was amazing, definitely one of the best meals we’ve had in ages. We will be back with our pooch soon as apparently they offer dog friendly accommodation so will be enquiring about it at check out later today. Would def recommend for a quiet relaxing, romantic break.

A room with ducks and a tame swan.

Lovely two night stay in a room overlooking the duckpond. Very comfortable room but with little ventilation once the patio doors are closed for the evening, which made it very warm on one night. The ducks and the swan beg for food and will knock on the patio doors and even come inside if you let them. The swan is very tame and will eat out of your hand. Potatoes are a favourite- yes, really. Human food is great here. We had two fabulous breakfasts and a damn fine evening meal in the restaurant. I would definitely stay again.

Nice Hotel, well situate for us. Staff very helpful & polite. Room great & well appointed. Food in Pig & whistle superb, waited for over 40 mins for dessert menu that did nor come but was well compensated by a wonderful Scots lass who could not have been more helpful. Shame they had run out of real ale but with weddings taking priority not surprised. Breakfast would have been super if full menu had been available, all in all nice Hotel & would stay again.

Nice hotel, have used a number of times, first time staying in the main building, wifi was limited and connection wasn't great.
