The good bits ,Arrived and check in was fine, Staff are friendly, room clean and tidy.

Bad bits - reception didn't tell us breakfast finished at 9.30am and so on Sunday we missed it, as went down at 9.45am, I have never stayed anywhere were breakfast finishes so early.
Saturday night meal, was OK, but restaurant ran out of Halloumi fries so had to chose alternative.
Ordered Fish cakes for main, only one on the plate, says cakes not cake on the menu (sorry that's picky, but still)
Ordered apple crumble for dessert but I don't think it was apple.
Wife had chicken, which was dry, no sauce.

No real atmosphere in the bar area, very small and bit of background music which the barmen turned up, as he couldn't understand why it was so quiet.

Went back to the room, we stayed in 201 and the Irish fella in room 202 was having a meltdown with someone or over the phone, shouting, swearing and banging stuff, doors etc. He then must have fell asleep and started again at 5am. reported to reception on leaving and she said manager would note. No offer of any money back and couldn't be bothered to ask at this point, was more concerned with getting home and having breakfast.

Good job we only live in Grimsby which is a short drive, if I had travelled from away I would have been more gutted. Anyway, won't be returning.

The approach to the hotel was quite pleasant, unfortunately, that's where it ended. The receptionist was not exactly welcoming (barely a greeting and no smile).

When we got to our room we found the bin still full from the previous occupants. We do understand that things can be missed,but when I reported it to reception hardly any reaction was noticeable. When asked for a second time later, she was quite abrupt and said \"yes, it WILL get done\" with no hint of an apology.

Throughout our stay, we did not see a single member of staff smile or look as though they wanted to be there.

The room was very basic, only 1 socket (behind the kettle), no bedside lights and tatty (torn) wallpaper.

We attended a function and the food was very nice and well presented however the service was a bit slow.

This is a good hotel with friendly staff and generally good all round service. Nice bar area thats quiet.
Table waiting could be improved not in the service generally which is very good but attention to detail such as condiments on tables especially when serving things that need them. Some staff ask but others can miss. This is not a big thing and overall i would definitely recommend. Some staff are very good at explaining especially if you have not stayed there before...others make assumptions.

Beautiful hotel. From walking through car park right to room - everything, everywhere was clean, tidy and really well looked after.

Restaurant serves really good quality food and the staff were fabulous - even though they were really busy with a wedding party.

The room was amazing - lively size, spacious and clean. All facilities (kettle, hairdryer etc) all available and good quality.

The room was spacious and comfortable, although was really hot the first night we stayed we had a fan in the room which cooled us down. The staff were all pleasant and friendly especially the lady serving and accomodating breakfast in the morning, she made our stay and we only saw her 2 mornings for a few minutes but she was so friendly and accommodating with a really good character, a real asset to the Hotel, i would stay there again just to have her serve me breakfast!

Second time we have stayed at Ashbourne Hotel, and again the service was impeccable. Even though there was a wedding on, we didn’t feel like we were in the way or our needs couldn’t be met.

Stayed in Room 310 (first floor) which was a quiet and comfortable.

Room 205 in the annex, had to go to reception at 1.30 am due to very noisy pipes/heating system. Staff were good and gave us the choice of two other rooms to sleep in but we were able to leave our luggage in original room until checkout. Annex quite noisy when people coming and going but rooms and beds comfortable

Uncomfortable room and bed, bathroom looked like it had had some maintenance done that day but not cleaned & the hallway smelt strongly of chemical, possibly paint thinners or mastic, room grubby and very hot plus an uncomfortable bed. The building and restaurant are very nice.

Arrived late due to unexpected extended stay to support customer. Night Porter did not know how to book me in, had to book night via Expedia website. Night Porter phoned manager to support him getting me a room. Then found room had not been cleaned. As was 10:30pm at night and needed sleep for early start the next day, put up with issue in room.

This place stinks.

Sat in the restaurant for 40mins watching the circus of staff somehow try and cobble a dinner service together between them. Drink was brought to me with the bottle cap still on. Someone else’s drink brought to my table. Asked for a menu, never arrived. I sat there for ages waiting to be served before giving up. If this is the level of attention to detail during a dinner service, I dread to think what’s going on in the kitchen, I’d rather not find out.

Delivery truck pulled up outside my room at 5am making a hell of a racket. There was some creepy hate speech message written on my mirror in the bathroom which freaked me out. Why wasn’t the mirror cleaned properly? The ironing board looked like it had just been washed up from the beach. Door wasn’t securely locked at night-time. Breakfast was utter crap, coffee tasted like it was fresh from the oil refinery pipes. I know Immingham and this area is a bit of a pit, but I expected better.

Mixed opinions.

The staff are very friendly and helpful, particularly the desk receptionist who tried to sort out a problem apparently caused by hotels.com.
We stayed in the executive room which was comfortable however there was an unpleasant smell constantly coming from the bathroom, possibly the drains.
Cleanliness was acceptable but there were cracked tiles on the bathroom floor and the carpet looked unhoovered.
There was a party taking place and we were almost overlooking the courtyard which was noisy, but didnt go on after 11pm so acceptable.
Breakfast was good with hot and cold choices but if only having bacon and sausage was 2 dry slices and 1 sausage on a massive plate which felt a bit stingey.
Overall our one night stay was okay.

Our weekend at Ashbourne

Outstanding place, booked 3 nights with breakfast included and it was really nice, had a lovely meal in the hotel which was fabulous. Staff all friendly and courteous and couldn’t help enough, the only negative I’d like to point out is staff coming to the breakfast table and not clearing the plates etc when it should be just a natural thing to do but hey if that’s my only complaint it should be taken as a suggestion not criticism guys … we loved our stay and would definitely recommend it . Its ideally situated for exploring the area if it’s from travelling over the amazing Humber bridge and beyond to visiting the lovely easts coastline be it cleethorpes, mabelthorpe or Skegness which are all within 1hour 15 minutes of the wonderful Ashbourne hotel, try it you’ll love it ….

Little bit of confusion at check in which was quickly and easily sorted out by the staff. Apparently hotels.com and the hotel aren’t compatible when booking so I’d call ahead if you are staying here to cover any issues before you arrive. Either way, we got a room that we were expecting and breakfast. Room was large and comfortable, very clean.

Nice room but walls were thin and could here everything in the other room. The shower head was unbelievably mouldy and the cold water tap bottom was black and not somewhere inviting to wash and brush your teeth! Ordered drinks at the table sat for a while and waited paitiently while the staff chatted at the bar.. not serving until 15 mins later my partner had to get up and ask for his drink again. Other than these issues the place was nice and the food was good.. i just hope they clean the kitchen to a higher standard than the room!

A really pleasant stay. Staff were friendly and courteous from the moment we arrived. Room was large clean and just the right temperature. The bar had a chilled relaxed atmosphere with a fantastic selection of drinks. Our morning breakfast was absolutely gorgeous. We had a full English but many other options were on offer. Everything on the plate was cooked to perfection with my scrambled egg a triumph. All in all this place is a hidden gem. I would heartily recommend a stay over if you're in the area. You'll not be disappointed.

Good overnight stay

We enjoyed our stay. The hotel seems well run and the common areas are well decorated and furnished comfortably. Our room was comfy, the bed was enormous! The bathroom was ok but the shower could have been cleaner. Breakfast was good.

Hotel was friendly and welcoming, really lovely and clean the only thing I will say is our bed was incredibly squeaky which wasn’t ideal for a couple :/ also the bedroom was over looking the entrance road and I didn’t realise the windows didn’t have a reflective film on them so people couldn’t see in the room so I got undress in full view of the poor overlooking houses. Apologies for my big white bum. Apart from that the hotel was lovely and the restaurant menu looked amazing although on this occasion I didn’t try.

The room was cleen and comfortable. the bath hangle was hanging off in the bath the breakfast service was poor they had a wedding on . So we had a dog so we had to go into the other room waiting 40 minutes to be served at our table we just walk out complained to the manager she was very nice and understanding we paid 25 extra for cleaning but did not clean our room once we complained again we got our money back for t he cleaning and the breakfast there needs to be some clarification that guests with dogs need to be treated same as wedding guests 😉

The hotel was easy to find and in a good location, there was a discrepancy between the check in times provided by hotels.com and the hotel itself but the staff member I spoke to was very friendly and apologised for any inconvenience. Lots of space for parking to the side of the hotel, the room itself was nice however was dusty and there was quite a few spiders in the room, the bed was terribly squeaky too even a slight movement made a horrific noise. It had everything you needed for an overnight stay.

Bath was not clean as a plumber had worked on a tap post the housekeeping
Manager resolved this quickly and satisfactory.
Evening dinner and waiter service very good
Sunday breakfast was a big disappointment so much so I had to complain.
Waitresses were very nice but did not know how to manage my complaint so had to call the manager who was very good and dealt with my complaint again in a very satisfactory way but 1) it was totally avoidable 2)really spoilt my visit and overall impression of the hotel
I honestly think this is just a real one off and it would not happen again

Pretty good stay

Pretty good overall, have an EV and there are 2 charge points there only one was working. Got enough charge for what I needed.
Stay for a late drink without issue and all was pretty good.
We did mention to the staff that our room was extremely dark unless the curtains are open, didn't want to drop anything you would never find it.

It was great seeing Sherry again - and she remembered me by name!

I marked down cleanliness because the toilet was not clean for my arrival. I am not blaming the cleaners, as when I flushed it, there was minimal flow of water (who remembers putting a brick in the cistern to save water!). The only way to flush it ws to shut the lid first. Perhaps a check just before the room is used would be helpful.

Fish pie looked unusual and I asked for a spoon for the sauce - it was lovely. Scotch egg was also very good, but the asparagus was four pieces of asparagus and two teaspoons of sauces. Not value for money. Breakfast int hese diffficult times is a grab-bag with a fresh bap (sausage, bacon, etc.) Not a full breakfast, but good for the Covid times. Overall though, the room, restaurant and service made up for it all and made this a value for money hotel and I will revisit if I need to stay in the area again. If only to say 'hello' to Sherry again!
