Staff are great, as soon as you enter and make your way to reception you are greeted with warm and friendly staff. Good quick sufficient checking in. The room looked at bit tired, shower pressure was good but the shower was like something from the 80’s. The room was large and great view of the marina. The tiles in the bathroom were cracked. For the price I think the rooms did not match up well.

This hotel is extremely tired and dated and in dire need of a refurb. Furniture is worn and shabby in all 3 bedroom we had booked. Woodwork chipped and shabby. Chipped enamel on the bath and worst of all 2 out 3 toilets didn’t flush properly .Tired and worn furniture in the dining room, and picture windows that were filthy The breakfast was OK The hotel is utterly surrounded by major roadworks which means major stouts to get anywhere Never again with Holiday Inn very much sub standard

It was the lease enjoyable hotel stay I have had in years!

Me and my team stay in hotels in the UK throughout the year. The parking is a complete joke! So remote from the entrance and charging £10 per night is, quite frankly ridiculous.

The cost of food in the restaurant is obscene and unjustifiable and the selection of beers is extremely poor.

The 'heating' in the room is a joke.

Me and my team are working in Hull over the next 6 months on several contracts and will not be staying at this hotel (an average of 7 people for 3 nights each over the next 6 months).

I have instructed my team (all 178 of them) that under no circumstances must any booking be made at IHG locations and certainly noy this hotel.

Fantastic location and the staff were amazing! Nothing was too much trouble and our issue with the heating system was dealt with promptly and courteously.
Parking was easy, breakfast plentiful and we enjoyed a delicious evening meal on the first night.
The only reason that we didn’t award 5 stars, was that there were no plug sockets or USB slots at the side of the bed, in our room, so phones & smartwatches were not within reach to check the time, during the night. Wish we weren’t so reliant on tech!
We’ll definitely be back, but will remember to pack an ordinary watch, or battery operated small bedside clock.
Well done Holiday Inn Hull Marina staff, you are a credit to your brand 🏅

The carpeting throughout was not only filthy, but should have been replaced years ago. This hotel may have been a four star when it was built in the 80’s, but I’d be hard pressed to call it a three star now. The plumbing fixtures and bathrooms are way out of date, and the dining area is quite shabby. Getting to it was difficult because of road construction in the area, which could have been helped by improving signage, correcting Google Maps, or even sending customers a pin! We’ve had the pleasure of staying at a number of properties in the UK, but we didn’t get the value in this one. On the positive side, the staff was apologetic and moved us to another room.

40th celebrations

We came for my 40th birthday celebration and decided to upgrade to a marina view room. This was done at an additional cost, however when we got into the room there was a massive tree right in the way of the view. We also chose this hotel because of the air conditioning in the room but we couldn’t use it because it was bubbling. We were told by reception that they all make this noise (that’s not a good sign) when someone came to look he said how strange it was but it stopped while he was there. It restarted after he left so we ended up not using the air con.the sofa bed was also very uncomfortable and lumpy.

It been a while since i stayed at the Hull marina.
I spent two years in the hotel and at that time the price's and simple things like having a couple of bottles of water in the room was norm.

Now i find the prices are expensive for the class of hotel and having to pay over £3 pounds for small bottle of water is extortionate.
10 pounds for car parking, really when you have already paid over £125 per night

Looks like the hotel had overhaul, but carpets in many areas to be dirty.

The staff were outstanding. I was in town as sponsor of the boxing event across at the arena so was v v busy 24 hours for me. Every member of staff made it all considerably easier for me due to their immaculate professionalism throughout, i wish i could recall their names but from the lady on reception to the ladies cleaning the room, it was elite level. On arrival a lovely lady named Vicky checked us in.
She was extremely professional and welcoming. A real ambassador for Holiday Inn and for Hull too. In fact, I think
Vicky improved our visit to Hull with her advice and knowledge of the area and its attractions. She also recommended a fabulous place to eat.

The public areas of the hotel are bright and welcoming.

Our room (with view) was fine and spacious.
It did have that stale smell that some hotel rooms get when no fresh air has been circulating in it.
The door to the balcony had a security lock attached which meant it only opened a couple of inches.

The air conditioning in the room was good.

The bathroom decor is desperately in need of modernisation but the shower over the bath was great.
The toilet took a few attempts each time before it flushed properly.

The staff at breakfast were very lovely too.

Lovely hotel, well located. Really helpful staff booking in, proactive at ensuring our access needs were documented and met, and a special mention to the lovely housekeeping lady who brought us a spare quilt, though not fluent in English couldn't have been more lovely and helpful.
Bit weird that the bar had no alcohol free beers or ciders and no straws and just a note that the hotel restaurant and room service were super expensive. The room was lovely and clean except the balcony, but couldn't sit out there anyway as there was no chair which you would have expected there to be!!
Would use again but not eat in the hotel.

The marina is a great area to stay in Hull. Humber St. near by is worth a vist, and the Old town is just over the bridge.
The rooms are comfortable, but I wait for the day when the hotel can offer kingsize beds! Very helpful and friendly staff.

Disappointed. The hotel looks nice and new from the exterior. The room was a different certainly not.

I was given a view of the marina, which was nice. But the room was very dated and needed a complete refresh.

Bathroom - old and falling apart. The shower was discoloured due to age. The shower curtain was grotty. The toilet roll holder fell to pieces within seconds.

Room - paint coming off wall/ skirting boards. Bed very old and uncomfortable.

Breakfast - like a bad joke. There was an offering of continental and hot food options. Hot food options were running low, no bread. I had to ask for these to be refilled. Coffee was disgusting (from the machine). Although the juice options were nice, but they were from a carton.

Great location for gigs/shows at Connexion Live. Rooms starting to look a little tired, rooms over the bar/reception area got noise from doors opening/closing (possibly from night staff) from around 3.30am but fortunately found some earplugs in my washbag. Staff were fantastic, breakfast excellent with all dietary requirements catered for. Plenty parking £10 per night (@ Feb 25)

Very friendly and accommodating staff, nothing was too much trouble. Rooms really clean and well managed. Breakfast was very good and kids under 13 eat free. Bar and lounge areas are also very good. Great location on the Marina with easy walking access to the city centre or old town. Had a really relaxing stay and the place is also pet friendly which is ideal and also well managed. At this price point it’s absolutely spot on.

All of the hotel staff were lovely and very helpful. The location is good, central for shopping and also 5 mins from marina restaurants and bars which were really nice. The hotel is dated and needs refurbishment, we had a lovely big room with marina view but it’s old and the bathroom very old.

A night out in Hull

Just an over night stay. The ladies were excellent on the check in reception, friendly, organised, offered information on the city, and the bar and restaurant facilities.

Shame the pool is not functional. But was explained that it has been since pre Covid.

Strong smell of urine from sofa

Lovely friendly greeting on arrival, we went straight out for the evening after putting our bags in the room, return late after midnight and noticed a smell in the room couldn’t place it, left it as we were tired and just wanted to sleep, in the morning it was quite unpleasant and we realised it was from the sofa area which when we looked at was extremely dirty and the aroma was possibly urine
