Welcoming and friendly staff. Leafy surroundings and plenty of parking. Dogs welcome! Tasty evening meal in the pleasant lounge bar area. Excellent choices available for breakfast. Definitely value for money. Only let down by being a bit tired all round and dingey.

Bar menu was very limited & the dining room was closed. The room was poor even though it was supposed to be an ‘executive double .’ I really don't think the room had been serviced correctly after the previous guest . I needed to ask for a clean duvet cover. That says it all. However , the receptionist was very pleasant and very helpful. Apparently the hotel is due to be refurbished & in my humble opinion that cant come soon enough . Great view though !!

Old hotel, corridors carpets had holes in patched up with tape. Leak in room 20 sink causing constant wet floor (clearly the room staff are not trained to look out for this…. Not their fault I’ll add….management!)
Odd layout to walk upstairs and downstairs to get to your room.
The hotel is propped up by the really friendly staff.
Expensive for an old hotel.

This time there was a water issue. My room had a large leak from the radiator and the whole area under the window was wet. I only realised at midnight. The shower/bath water was tepid. Normally great but this time was marred by this. The staff are all lovely, I've stayed here a lot.

Majorly in need of room refurbishment. Terrible access to rooms too. No lift, not ideal with lots of a baggage. Check in staff very basic customer service. A huge gypsy wedding was taking place the following day with the guests all there the night before causing major disruption to my stay, sleep etc.

Hotel it tired and in need of an update, especially shower curtains to be removed....they are so unhygienic! The rooms are unbearably hot and considering it is only 15 degrees outside i would not want to stay there when it is any warmer. Also made the mistake of accepting a room next to stairs which was quite noisy.

Slumber near the Humber

We stayed over for a night on a motorcycle trip. The hotel was perfect for our stay with beautiful views of the Humber from an open terrace at the back of the hotel. The room was nice and quiet with only the rabbits as neighbours. The bed was great too ensuring a good slumber near the Humber!

The hotel reception and bar area is lovely with beautiful views of Humber Bridge, but the rooms are poorly ventilated, no aircon or power sockets by the bed and are in need of a facelift.
Aside from that a good bar with terrace, and breakfast are nice!

We had two rooms , my sister in one and myself and my daughter in the other.
Our room was clean and comfortable, my sister's room appeared to be the same on arrival but later on in the evening when she opened a cupboard underneath the hospitality tray she found two half eaten pizza 's in boxes and mouldy garlic bread.
She reported it next morning and the receptionist took note and was mortified to hear of it.
However on returning from our day out they were still there so she took them down to the reception where another receptionist was mortified as well. She gave us all some tokens for a free drink that evening.
We did enjoy our stay apart from that, the breakfast was very good , staff were very friendly and helpful, everywhere else was spotless.

So a mixed review.
Pros.. quiet, good gym, comfy bed, only 20 mins from Hull brewers fayre down the road. I got the room for a reasonable price. Manager covering hotel was pleasant. Rabbits running about in garden behind. Plenty of car parking but i believe you usually have to pay for it.
Cons... looks run down. Rooms not cleaned. Gym notice saying last cleaned in november, air con didn't work, no hot water in first room given and curtain rail on floor. 2nd room dusty, light bulb missing and shampoo dispenser didn't work.

Told staff about issues but not rectified when asked. Was asked to wait 2 see if water warmed up by 6. Wasn't happy so received a new room which was nicer but still not great apart from bed. Room was partially service ie bed made but towels not repalced, dirty glasses and cups not removed and extras not topped up. Mirror broke.

I just feel the hotel was going through a lack of leadership or staff. Kitchen staff called in sock etc I believe it was being done up as one floor was blocked off.

Beds gave us both a bad back every night.

Shower is no good for someone 6ft or taller!

Buffet breakfast was pretty bland but the breakfast was made to order on the weekend which was much better

Having arrived at the hotel using a crutch to walk with. The checking receptionist then put me in room 17, with in his words just a few steps. Having descending a total of 14 steps, then finding the room was the last one down a vast corridor starting with room 1. The following morning at breakfast also up steps about 10 in total i met Maria a waitress in the breakfast room who saw my problems immediately. She said she would get my room changed and for the rest of my stay would bring my breakfast to me in the lounge area No steps involved. Later that day my new room 102 was on level flooring and the first room through door a much more accessible room for someone with Multiple Sclerosis. All in all it must said that Marias actions were above and beyond for which I was grateful.

But only when you go inside.
The sign says pay upon arrival.
I have emailed the parking company but nothing back so far.

Dinner service was shambolic. We gave up and went out, as another couple had been waiting 1hr 10 mins for food. The poor lad behind bar was trying his best to take orders but nothing was coming out of kitchen.

Stayed here before when it was the Hallmark hotel, now it's privately owned and operated using the Best Western branding. So the fundamentals remain in place and it's not bad but it could be improved and fairly easily as well. Staff numbers must be tight so reception is not manned that much. The hotel entrance is all fine but as you progress deeper into the building the state of the carpets and corridor maintenance can easily be improved. We were in room 32 so down in the depths a bit. The corridor store room doors are battered and in need of a coat of paint, the carpets need an industrial clean and/or replacing, quick fixes which would bring the standards up. Similar story in the room, some nice touches but then marks to the plaster on the walls on the edges, bathroom ceiling paint peeling off, worn carpet areas in the corners. Easily remedied though, just employ a person to bring the main areas and rooms up to scratch a bit and you could easily charge more. Bit of filler, coat of paint and a carpet cleaner - job done. Breakfast as well, for £15 the quality of ingredients needs to be stepped up a bit. Poor quality sausages are a sign of corner cutting to the detriment of the overall offering. It's a big site and obviously cash is tight but a bit of targeted investment would increase revenues.

The view from the bar of the Humber Bridge and estuary was incredible! No air - con in room, bed and pillow too soft. One of guests in bar/restaurant was swearing loudly, constantly at the top of his voice - very off putting.

Aggressive signage in the carpark tells hotel guests to pay for parking in advance. Which I did. But on check in at the hotel I was informed that I didn’t have to pay but could register my car there. So this private car park management company has my money. What a scam! The check in desk man was friendly and explained the situation but I’m still out of pocket. So unless they change the signage then I can’t recommend this hotel to anyone (despite nice view and friendly staff).

The staff were lovely. This hotel is dog friendly so our little cockapoo was able to stay. This made our stay a lot better. The lady was understanding in that we sat in the bar area as we weren’t aloud in the restaurant area with the dog and took our orders, bringing them to us. Bed was comfy. The only downfall was thT the room doesn’t have a fan or air on so it was very hot and not much air flow was coming through the windows.

On arrival the staff were welcoming and they reception areas appeared clean and in good repair.
On going to our room, the carpets were worn and appeared not to have been hoovered.
Room itself was generally clean, but bathroom grout gave the impression it was dirty.
The room opposite was extremely noisy and arguments in the other areas of the hotel went on till early hours of the morning meaning we could not sleep! Although the night staff did try to deal with this with very little success.
Just when thing's settled down and we thought we might get some sleep, the heating system came on at 6.30am and the radiators in our room started playing what I can only describe as Tubular Bells!
So sorry Humber View, although you're unable to predict your guest's behaviour and your staff are friendly. I don't think I will be returning.
On positive note the breakfast was nice with a variety of choices.

The views from the terrace of the Humber Bridge were beautiful, was a shame our room didn’t have the same view!
We only stayed for one night, but would stay again if we’re in the area again.

The hotel is certainly in need of some refurbishment, a four star hotel that has threadbare carpet in the rooms is a bit on the sad side. The mattresses are hard and lumpy and the rooms are very warm and with limited ability to open windows.
Areas of the breakfast dining room could do with a clean, namely the wooden walls the layer of dust and grim was not pleasant.
Staff were very happy, helpful and friendly.
This was a night away booked using Expedia points so coat is nothing, if I’d paid for it I would have been very upset.
I won’t be rushing back.

The staff are unable to provide a good experience as the hotel itself doesn't come up to scratch. The reception area is very stark. The rooms are adequate size for a short stay. It was clean and the bed was comfortable, however we had the worst night ever. We entered the hallway to the rooms and a wall of heat greeted us, when we got to the room windows were all open and a fan was already switched on. After a night out we came back and trying to sleep was impossible due to the heat. I thought my husband was going to have an heart attack. Breakfast was good quality products but it was overcooked, such a shame.

Gorgeous hotel, friendly staff.

We arrived quite late but they kept the kitchen open which was really generous. The food was ghastly and took over an hour to arrive, so it was a mixed blessing! They clearly have some staffing issues but they were very friendly and welcoming. There was a school prom the first night and a wedding the second so I didn't get much sleep, though my husband wasn't bothered, so I guess I'm sensitive to noise. It was very hot but the room had an electric fan which we kept on all night. Also helped to drown out the partying! Room was beautiful, the whole hotel is really beautiful and overlooking the water, absolutely wonderful. Would absolutely recommend, but maybe I would request a quiet room best time. And go out for dinner! The Greek, Hessle is fantastic, they should open a branch in the hotel for a perfect experience!
