The room and the hotel was bright and clean. Staff were very friendly and the food was great. There was a great choice for Breakfast. Little things like short bread biscuits and chilled bottled fresh water being within the room made an all-round good experience. Only down side was zero coverage for mobile phone service. Both O2 & Vodaphone (my two services) had no signal therefore unless you can use WiFi contact to the outside areas is limited.

Stayed for two nights over a weekend because I was visiting Longleat. Very convenient for this attraction and easy to get to off the A303.

Mel welcomed me and was very helpful throughout my stay and the other staff memnbers were lovely.

I had a large room on the front corner of the property (room 7). Extremely comfortable bed and all the amenities losted when I booked. The property is next to a busy road so there is traffic noise. The bedroom had secondary double glazing which helped to reduced the noise but the bathroom didn't.

I would go back to this hotel but probably ask for a different room; this is mainly because the TV was so far away. Could have done with a 2nd bedside lamp and another one on the desk. Remote control for the radio didnt work and I had no idea how to use the nice dyson fan. The luggage rack was on the top shelf of the wardrobe; I used the desk instead.

Bathroom had the required amenities and nice toiletries. The fan was a bit noisy so I used the light on the vanity mirror. I didn't get on well with the shower; poor water pressure and hot water took ages to come through. I mentioned this on departure.

The food was very good and whilst not cheap the prices were comparable with another hotel that I stayed in. The atmosphere in public areas was friendly and welcoming. Dogs are made very welcome which I like

Overall a good conveniently located hotel with good food.

Nice dining area for breakfast and evening meals. Good variety of options for breakfast and a varied evening meal menu. Beds are nice and comfortable. Good tea and coffee facilities in room. If I had have known it was so pet friendly I may have brought my pet. Convenience store with ATM on other side of street for any other items. All of the staff we encountered were pleasant, courteous and helpful. I would stay again when I return to the area as I likely will.

We were very surprised. The welcome we received was good. The room is basic but very clean and we had a very good night sleep. The bed was very comfortable which is very important. The restaurant/pub downstairs is dog friendly and they have their own dog menu. The staff were very approachable, friendly and helpful. Location is great for Longleat and Stonehenge both of which are close. We will return next year to visit longleat.

Booked for two nights to catchup with family. Friendly staff, very popular venue for local people.
Comfortable bed, and good facilities, being on the busy road, we found it quite noisy, but slept fairly well.
Bathroom could have been cleaner, cabinet beneath sink needed cleaning, fan sends out dirty dust, and seals around shower door much more attention required. The bedroom area was fine, great to have little fridge, proper milk, chilled water.

We wanted a pet friendly hotel and boy, did we get it. Every member of staff treated our little pup like royalty. In the room there was a comfortable bed for her with a towel and 2 blankets along with some bowls but the piece de resistance was a the little bag containing poop bags, treats and a ball. We had a very satisfied little dog in the room but when she saw the outside greenery she was absolutely thrilled as were we. Unlike a lot of hotels where they claim to be dog friendly but then have a load of no go areas, this hotel really was.

We arrived before booking in time so had the flat iron steak and frites for lunch followed by the Sticky Toffee Pudding and Banana waffle. All was beautifully cooked and the waitress was extremely careful to ensure that the way I was asking for my steak to be cooked as she was worried it would be compromised.
We found the room to be comfortable and loved the Dyson fan. There was plenty of tea, coffee, fresh milk(!) and a little fridge.
We had the breakfast in the morning. 10 out of 10 for the fresh fruit, a decent range of cereals and various other items on the Continental range. My husband had the Classic English Breakfast which he thoroughly enjoyed with its 2 sausage, 2 bacon, beans, tomato, poached egg, black pudding and toast whilst I had a very generous portion of smoked salmon with scrambled eggs on toast. If there was any criticism, it would be the toast was thin and dry. Everything else was great.

Our stay was satisfactory, considering it was in a heatwave, but the breakfast was not up to standard at all. Nothing was prepared properly or ready for people to come and help themselves and some things were not available which were on the menu, like fruit salad and the self service sideboard was not prepared properly. Altogether a disappointing experience and not what you expect from a hotel/pub type accommodation nowadays.

Unfortunately there was mouldy milk left in the fridge, realised only upon taking a gulp of it, the smell hit and became evident from the lumps and colour it was gone off, left in the fridge and not changed from the night before can only be expected.

Manager unwilling to help, with a ‘I don’t give a a’ attitude.

Will be performing a chargeback due to the state of the room and no remediation of dirty cups in the room, new milk was given in a in clean container not washed properly.

For an Inn, the George Inn has blown my mind away from having that welcoming customer services to the comfortable, peaceful, luxurious stay overnight. I wished that I booked for a few days as the location was convenient to all attractions in the area. To top up off, the price is just attractive for a last-minute booking.

Wonderful Inn with great Ambience

The inn location is convenient and is near a hidden lake. The lake is beautiful. The ambience is cheerful and warm. I loved the breakfast. The room is comfortable with modern tools like a great TV, Nespresso machine and even a Dyson fan. Room is great.

We arrived after 6 hours in the car to a room that was about 40 degrees in temperature with no ventilation. there were 4 of us in the room. The service was adequate, the staff were trying but a lot of them were clearly new. a few things were offered, shaving cream, cotton wool, sewing kits that could be collected from reception (no phones in the room to ring down so had to go down in person!) but when asked for a sewing kit to fix our childs broken teddy there weren't any to be found. we were really disappointed.

We had been told this was the place to stay, however on arrival we were quickly met with a sign saying no food due to maintenance, this was however for visiting guests, not people staying. however the time window for guests staying to eat was swift. Got the impression staff were minimal and also not trained correctly. During our meal my daughter was still eating her starter yet they wanted to bring mains out? Food was actually very good in deed, just a shame that the service let it down. When we ordered some after drinks at the bar it was clear the staff were not trained on how to make cocktails that they were selling. I returned my wife’s cocktail as it was not nice, after a little hassle they did change it for a Prosecco but this in my eyes should be simple swap and not questioned, she had taken a sip.

The room was ok, the pictures when booking a family room showed a double and a bunk bed, on arrival it was a double with a small sofa bed in the corner of the room where access was fairly limited, the TV over hung the bed and where the room was not level it swung out which is a bit dangerous. I had to chase house keeping as when we first got to the room there was only a 1/4 of toilet roll on the wall. Rooms looked rather tired and in need of a freshen up. I think these elements on this occasion is why we have not rated this venue the best.

Pub and accommodation in a handy location. They messed up our booking which meant that one of us had to sleep on the floor. (with additional bedding)
We had booked a twin room late in the evening after being let down. Just before we booked, we rang to confirm that we could book a twin. Unfortunately, the twin was already occupied and as we had paid, it was too ate to change.
Food in the restaurant was fine and beer good. Staff are well trained and engaging.
Overall a comfortable stay albeit expensive for the room that was noisy being on the roadside.

My partner & I stayed at the Hotel as it was within a convenient distance to Longleat. The property is very charming, breakfast was very good and also a lot of options.
Our room did have a comfy bed and pillows however the location of the room (Room 12), the landing that leads to/ from all the other rooms and back to the Pub, was very noisy with a lot of creaky floor boards. The room also had a stench of sweaty feet upon arriving so we left the window open as well as the room door to try and clear out the smell (it did subside a bit however we then had an air purifier which was running constantly after that). The carpet had not been vacuumed, there were nail clippings and other debris on the carpet, the room had a lot of cobwebs in the corners, enough to see they have been there a while.

The food in the restaurant was also not particularly great, for me and my partner. Unfortunately both dishes lacked flavour (1 Beer Battered Cod & Chips, 1 Butter Chicken Burger).

Being the cheapest of my choices, I wasn't expecting wonders but upon arriving (fairly late too) I was greeted by a well mannered and kind woman who told me everything I needed to know and directed me to my room. I had only booked for one double bed but I ended up with what I think was a family room. It was spacious for an inn, very clean and I had everything I could've needed. I even managed to get food at the bar before bed and it was the best I had my entire trip.

I highly recommend The George Inn, I will definitely be using them again when I return this year.

The George Inn’s staff are what make it. Unfortunately the road location is pretty noisy and the place itself is just a bit tired and run down, not at all how the pictures look when looking in the rooms. However, you just couldn’t be disappointed when the staff - whether behind the bar, waiting tables, cheffing or staffing breakfast simply couldn’t do enough for you. I’m sure we weren’t easy customers and the place was packed most of the 3 day, 2-night visit we were there - but they really are worth their weight in gold!

Our stay was lovely the room was nice and warm and the beds very comfy. There is a smart tv on a wall bracket which is a bonus, also included in the room is a large Dyson fan which we didn’t need to use but was a nice addition. We stayed for 3 nights and everyday the room was refreshed and fresh water bottles left by the nightstands and a top up of teas and coffees. The bathroom was nice and modern and the water was always hot in the shower, it could’ve maybe done with a few more essentials - possibly a toothbrush holder/ a small hand towel holder as trying to dry ur towels on a small heated towel rail was a little challenging. The water in the taps comes out freezing at first and takes a good few minutes of running before any warm water comes out - maybe a pump could be installed as the building is quite large. The only thing which was a little annoying was outside of our room in the corridor was a large door to access the rooms and it doesn’t have a soft close - it bangs very loudly whenever anyone goes through it which isnt great late at night or putting our little girl to bed.
We didn’t book breakfast with our room but they were very accommodating and was able to have breakfast on 2 of the mornings, lovely food with a good range of cereals/ breads/ pastries etc - pancakes and bacon were a particular favourite! Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend to friends and family, the staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Great location for overnight stay following trip to Longleat for the Festival of Lights, also very near Warminster. Checked in, but were unable to have dinner due to a powercut, but staff signposted us to various pubs available nearby in Warminster, and due to the inconvenience gave us free breakfast the next morning, which was fab.
Room was great - clean, comfortable and all mod cons - plenty of wardrobe space, coffee maker, fan, clock radio and huge TV with full access and free Wi-Fi. Had a lovely stay - only downside, due to the location was the traffic noise, which would be hugely reduced if they had double-glazing.
However we would definitely stay again - loads of parking, huge outside play area, doggy friendly and great food and friendly staff.

The Inn was lovely the female member of staff that checked us in was friendly the room was massive slight damp patch in the corner of the room. Everything worked well and the coffee was great the outside drinking area was a delight we played games in the bar which was lovely. The room itself as I have said was massive great for a family great choice of tv the water bottles by the bed when you removed the top had what appeared to be mould around the rim the bed was really comfortable I would say where are room was there was some fan noise going all night it woke me twice and I wouldn’t say I’m a light sleeper. The bathroom was a lovely size the shower was brilliant there were cupboard under the sink that popped open and could do with a dust. It was a brilliant distance to longleat.

The petrol station opposite has 2 Instavolt rapid chargers - they are only available when the petrol station is open, but it opens at 0630 so I ran the car over there and it charged whilst I had breakfast.

Great Hotel. Friendly staff and great service

The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Liz is an exceptional member of staff and goes to so much trouble to make your stay comfortable.
If you checking in very late, always let them know so they can make necessary arrangements as front desk closes approx. 2230hrs

A pleasant stay with generous sized family room

Nice room, some areas needed attention like the wallpaper peeling and the curtains, but other than that was generously sized as a family room with a dividing curtain and a decent sized bathroom with dual sinks.
Food was very very average, I think they have somewhat oversold the quality of the food, but breakfast was substantial and tasty.
The room had a Dyson fan which was welcomed. The outside of the building looks a bit tired.
Handily opposite the fuel station and within 5 miles of longleat safari

We had a lovely one night stay. The manager and his staff were fantastic - really helpful with directions needed for the next day. We had a light meal - pizza and chips and a couple of pints of The pizza was delicious.

Nice but a little over priced

The hotel looks lovely. The room was a twin and had the comfiest beds! The bathroom was a bit tired and not so clean looking. Loo seat broken, shower loose and floor looked grubby in all corners like it needed a \"proper\" clean.

The road outside is a main one and very noisy. Only single glazing and you could hear everything. I would suggest earplugs if you are a lighter sleeper.

Continental breakfast was good but again the restaurant looked like it needed a proper clean on windows, light fittings and both mornings I found squashed chips under my chair.

A lovely 2 night stay. Room was clean and good facilities. A good choice of hot drinks in the room and nice bathrom products. Ate in the pub both nights Good food and friendly service. There was plenty of food for the continental breakfast.

Lovely stay.

Excellent stay. Comfortable rooms with all channel TVs (Netflix, Prime etc).Good food. Welcoming atmosphere. Stairs to all rooms (not suited to pushchairs or wheelchairs). Short drive to Longleat safari park.
