I have to leave a review as I was so impressed here. From first moment I was welcomed by Sue in reception, to the moment I checked out.

I loved the room, the ladies at breakfast, the efficient bar staff, the food, the room service, the pool, it was all just as a hotel should be.

I made a mistake with my booking and had inadvertently booked one night instead of the intended two, but Michelle phoned me and we sorted it out.

The hotel and facilities are great, but the staff are *all* outstanding. Seriously.

Another Village Hotel. This time in Hull and the theme is the same. Friendly and attentive staff matched with a good facilities, well designed rooms and reasonably priced food.

Both evening and morning shift staff were friendly and helpful to ensure that there were no issues that needed addressing. The breakfast staff even provided alternative milk which was not out in the open during breakfast. Worth noting for those with dietary restrictions or allergies speaking to the staff will result in a positive experience.

Room was clean with no visible dust or cobwebs and smelt fresh on entry. The bathroom was separate from the bedroom with a shower in what I can describe as a spacious room probably bigger than most 'box rooms'. Again bathroom was clean with towels where expected and the toilet bowl clean. Big mirror and well lit.

Bed was comfortable with enough pillows for added comfort if required. Kettle and cups provided were clean. Nice choice of tea and coffee although providing decaf for both would also have been welcome. An upgrade to the Clubhouse would have included a Lor Nespresso machine to the mix. There is a full length mirror and a small closet built into the wall housing an ironing board, hairdryer and fan (for hot days?). The room had a good temperature that was not leaning towards hot or cold that I did not look around for the controls to change it.

I was made welcome by friendly and professional staff from start to finish.

There was also a fire alarm event at the start of my stay which I thought was managed well but I would reccommend using a Megaphone when communicating directions with the evacuated guests.

Also, this was the first time i've ever had to pay extra to use the Gym & Swimming Pool at a Village Hotel.
Nothing really within walking distance but you can walk to a bus stop nearby.

After checking in around 6pm & paying extra for the use of the gym & pool to be told we couldn't use it last night but could the following morning, I would noy have paid extra had I been told before hand.
As for bedroom, plenty big enough but the cleanliness not up to my standard, the mattress protector was stained not nice

Wasn't my first visit and knew it would be as good as ever. If anything, the Christmas dinner had improved, it seemed larger. Room was perfect, shower was huge and easy to use. I slept like a log. Excellent breakfast too.My only criticism is the location because I don't drive but that's on me, not the hotel.

Waited 15mins to be addressed by reception who was dealing with another guest.

Once checked in, dropped off bags and came straight to the bar and ordered a meal. Meal itself was nice but waited over 20mins for my dessert before I called it a night and had to request for it to be removed from my bill.

Rooms very basic, clean enough but you can hear neighbouring rooms especially from guests above walking around.

Confusing that a wellbeing centric hotel chain centred around gyms and swim has a restaurant that only seeks junk food. 1 vegan option (a burger) on the menu and everything is deep fried it seems. 90% meat based menu really lets the rest of the hotel down which is a shame. I love a hotel with a gym but probably won't be using village again considering it's not exactly the cheapest.

First the positives: helpful and professional staff, comfy bed and a good shower. Sadly the stay got off to a bad start with no decaff coffee in the room or available at reception, or for breakfast, are we back in the '90s? Fortunately the receptionist organised a couple of complimentary drinks from the onsite Starbucks. As there's no air conditioning there was a fan in the room. This had been much appreciated by a local spider who's cobweb from a few days earlier was still partly attached to it, the tv and the back wall. The poor cleaning was further emphasised by the presence of a dead flying insect that hadn't been cleaned from the window frame. Finally at bedtime I couldn't find a way of turning off the main room light other than by taking the key card out of the box inside the door, leaving me with an uncharged phone in the morning. Apparently this light switch is hidden behind the tv - Village put a sign up, it's not hard!

Good luck getting sleep if they have a wedding on.

Arrived at the hotel and it looks as good as the photos. Tried booking in but only computers to book in, found a member of staff to help out as we had questions the computer couldn’t help with. The room was ok, windows that only open a few inches and a fan that didn’t really do anything. No air conditioning so air movement was very stale. The bed seemed comfortable and when it was bedtime we found out that what we thought was the duvet was infact the mattress topper, there was a thin sheet and the duvet was in the cupboard but didn’t have a cover. There was a wedding party at the hotel and from 23:00 until 02:00 they were running around the floors shouting and banging on doors. Spoke to staff about it in the morning to be told that’s what’s you expect when there is a wedding party there. Good luck getting sleep if there is a wedding when you stay. The hotel itself was pretty nice, the pool and facilities were good, lots of room service trays left over the corridors with dirty plates and food, general rubbish left over the floors in the hallways. It was a room for us to get some rest in, hoped it would have been better but know not to use it again if we come to Hull.

Toilet seat was loose and there was dirt on the toilet seat. When I mentioned to reception they said they would pass to duty manager. Duty manager then said to another member of staff loudly across restaurant that he wasn't going to fix seat because of it breaks worse then he's to blame. Very unprofessional and nothing was done to resolve at the time. I had to clean the toilet seat myself.

Paid £145 used the gym and there was no hot water for a shower in the entire building. Complained to staff stating that I had paid alot of money for no shower, And was going on a business evening out stinking. They offered me a free beer, if which I rejected, left my number for the manager to call me, to get a full refund, and no one called me. Disgusting

The hotel room was nice and comfortable, although noisy (the door was thin and had a gap underneath it so you could hear noise clearly from the corridor).

The breakfast was okay although it was very
busy and our table was cleared of our drinks when we were up getting our hot food (there was a queue with no plates and food was being replenished so we had to wait) and was given away so we had breakfast with another couple they we didn’t know (as there were no other tables) which was fine but not ideal.

Other than that it was a nice stay, we would stay again but maybe not have the breakfast.

Cheap and extremely great service from all staff

Staff were amazing however cleaners in the morning were extremely noisey and woke us up early on hoth morning of our stay. Room was cleam although we had to request shampoo and body wash for the shower on first night as our were empy. The staff on check in (james i think) couldnt have been more helpful and sorted it out straight away though. Food was amazing and all staff through out our stay both on the bar and in the hotel were lovely and went above and beyond. Would definitely recommend amd will definitely be staying again.

Reception and check in were excellent and very friendly. It is near to Hessle Town centre, so went there for a curry.
Had a nice Latte, but they dont do a hot chocolate. Would be a good idea to add that to rheir offering.
They didn't have any decaff coffee for the room.

Staff were very helpful and friendly the phoned me before my stay to sort out a accessible room. The shower was amazing very powerful with 2 different heads to use, the beds were very comfortable and looked like a new carpet. Has a big car park so parking no problem and was free with the stay. Breakfast was very good not a huge selection of pastries or bread and scrambled eggs were alittle wet. I did here someone asked for fried and they wete very happy to do that, so I would ask next time.

The menu in the dining room had a number of deals that in the small print were only available through an App. After spending 10 - 15 mins queuing to place my order, I was told I had to go and download the App - I then had to queu up again. Annoying!

Hotel picked purely for parking of large van

Checked in and was in one of the older style rooms asked if any of the newer rooms available and told they were fully booked. My colleague checked in also and was offered a newer room. Room was dated, accessible and joining. None of which was requested. 5 gbp per night for parking.

Great for a night's stay. The room had recently been refurbished and was of a nice standard. Staff friendly and easy to check in and out. Massive car park, parking being free. The only let down was the breakfast. The hot food offerings were poor. Powdered eggs, cheap sausages and bacon. Coffee was wasn't the best. However there is a Starbucks on site.
