Great hotel, good service

Great location, close to everything we needed. Staff were always available and very helpful. We had to ask a couple of times for a kettle and a hairdryer, but eventually we got them and everything else was provided.

-Nothing was good about it.
- The staff were rude.. except one
- no cleaning services
- Bed was very dirty and make noise all the time.. we asked for Solving the problem but they didn't do anything.
- The area is very noisy until 4 o'clock in the mornings.. the windows of course are not soundproof
- The area is very crowded and the driving option is unlikely
- the staff are limited and most of the hospitality services are not provided
- It is not preferable place for families
- I don't recommend this place at all for anyone

Location is GREAT. But, what can i tell about this hotel, bathroom hot water is like on off 2 sec cold water 4 sec hot water. It is like ice cream on a fondant. No ice in the hotel if you need to drink. No breakfast. This hotel equal location thats it.

Hotel staff are nice and welcoming, clean room (except the wooden shower floor), comfortable bed. BUT the only unforgivable sin for a hotel is thay you can’t get a good night’s sleep. There is a loud bar that plays live music about 7 meters from the hotel until around 4am. Only stay here if sleep is optional.

hotel location is nice, but rooms are not comfortable at all, and you can have sleepless nights because of noice from outside. Curtains were terrible, no toiletries in wash room, not worth the money at all. Really disappointed to waste my money on it.

When i checked into the Taksim Prelude I learned that Expedia had accidentally double booked my reservation.This was a clear mistake and I asked the hotel to rectify it. In the morning however I learned nothing had been done and furthermore the manager was determined to charge me for both rooms. While discussing at the front desk, the owner came by and said he would fix the issue if I gave hime a 5 star rating. I checked back one week later and learn I am still being charged for the second room. I have called the hotel several times. Mostly the staff claims not to speak english and hang up. The Taksim Prelude and its staff deserve a 1 star rating not an artificially inflated 5 just to increase its score.

Friendly Staff and Central Location

Nice Hotel, centrally located in Istanbul. Almost everything nearby. Rooms Comfortable and spacious. Very cheap as compared to other nearby Hotels. Tophane Metro on walking distance. Reception staff was friendly and very cooperative and could speak English very well which helped us to explore city. Hotel staff upgraded our room without any extra charges. We arrived early in morning and they allow us free early check in. Overall, we liked Hotel and will stay in same hotel next time.

Terrible service at Taksim Prelude. Not worth it

Arrived at hotel and could not be provided with senior suite booked. Had to stay in standard room. Given senior suite the following night. Stay was for 5 nights.

Had to ask Manager to sort out price refund for standard room. Didn’t do it and had to call Hotels.com. Once this was done I was then told I would be given a partial refund for the first night.

Room was not cleaned on 2nd night. Informed General Manager and he ended up cleaning room himself.

2nd night hot water was weak and showered anyway. 3nd night and 5th night had to go down to Reception a number of times asking them to switch on the hot water. Kept saying he is resetting the combi. Ended up delaying our programs for the hotel.

Manager was sincere and apologetic yet the owner was at the hotel a number of times never apologized for the inconveniences.

Last day as we leaving, Receptionist is asking us to pay for our stay when I had paid prior to arriving in Istanbul.

Don’t waste your money as the owner and the employees other than the Manager do not believe in customer service. Plenty of better hotels in the vicinity for a similar price

My mom and I had a great experience thanks to Prelude Hotel. Mainly the staff were super friendly, kind and helpful. No matter what we asked for they always found a solution. I would defenitly come back to this hotel when i revisit Istanbul.

Cozy Boutique Hotel Conveniently Located

I have stayed at this hotel twice during my two visits to Istanbul and both times have been such a pleasurable and enjoyable experience. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. They ensured that all of my needs were met and even remembered me from the last time I stayed with them which is lovely touch. You are one step away from Istiklal, the busiest street in Istanbul that is full of cute cafe's, shopping and restaurants. My room was cleaned everyday and everything worked in my room. I was even upgraded to a suite for my second stay which was a very nice gesture of the hotel. I would happily recommend Stories Hotel Kumbaraci to anyone - I thoroughly enjoyed my stay both times. Thank you very much to the lovely staff!!!

Comfortable stay at Stories Karakol

I enjoyed Stories Karakol - the rooms are really well equipped and well serviced. The location couldn't be more perfect. My one concern is that one of the desk attendants spoke very less English than how much Turkish I speak and made little effort to help me. The only other little concern was that our Superior King Room was still incredibly tight in terms of space. I can't imagine how small standard rooms are, then.

Hotel is in the best location if you want to be in the heart of Taksim. Had an amazing stay here - the shower room is divine! Nice big walk in shower with wooden platter floor, and big dark stone walls. Was gorgeous! Super large bed, and less than 1 minute to the main high street from which you can go anywhere you want. Perfect! The only downside I guess is that because it is middle of a VERY BUSY area, you will hear some noise at night - this is normal for the area and is not just this hotel. This noise didnt bother me as I am from London, so am used to people shouting every now and then etc. For the price it is superb, the location is excellent, and the quality of room was awesome. Embrace the local atmosphere right in the centre of it all. Will definitely stay here again.

Excellent hotel in a nice area

This was the best hotel I have stayed in a long time. The room was clean, beautifully decorated and very quiet even though it was off from a busy road. The bed was so comfortable and the shower was really nice. The staff was friendly and the location was perfect. The main shopping street is really close and if you walk to the opposite direction there are so many cafes and restaurants and the neighbourhood is really lively. I would stay at this hotel again at anytime!

The room is lovely and the hotel is nice and clean and modern. If all you want is a place to rest your head, then stay here. If you look for a little more in a hotel, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. We did end up having one really helpful member of staff on our last night at the hotel but when we asked other staff for recommendations in the area that locals would head to they only gave one expensive restaurant. We were in Beyoglu, with loads of amazing restaurants! Also, I was told we would have a room with a balcony, which we didn't, and the room wasn't made up with a third bed that we requested. Sheets were eventually bought up and we made the bed ourselves.

This hotel is amazing!!!! It was centrally located, the hotel management was fantastic and extremely nice, and very welcoming the room were VERY clean. I loved the rain shower, slippers, and free waters included. This hotel was worth the money and when ever I am back in Istanbul I will be staying here! Additionally, they have a great restaurant across the way. This hotel is a five star in my eyes and other hotels have so much to learn. Thank You for an awesome stay!

Lovely boutique hotel, will stay again. Walk straight out into one of the shopping districts in Istanbul and keep walking until you reach Galata. Great spot convenient to Metro and taxis...just make sure drivers turn meter on...be warned!

Good , clean, modern hotel in street from taskim main shopping street. No restaurant but plenty of eateries within walking distance. Take telephone number of the hotel to have the taxi driver call en-route for ease in finding the small street it sits in. I would stay again if in Istanbul

My brother and I stayed at Stories in Sept this year....great location...2 min away from Istiqlal street....5-7 min walk to the funicular (subway)...so was easy to get to Sultanahmet and other places....plenty of cafes and restaurants in the area...extremely lively even late at night....the room was a bit small but it was comfortable and clean...employees at the reception were courteous and very helpful...highly recommended!!!

Hotel is in a good location, decent , clean and contemporary. Staff was polite, attentive. The hotel is hard to find for taxis and there is limited car access to the narrow one way street. Room was very tiny, yet there was a chunky big bed, chairs, closet etc. We couldn't put down two suitcases, there was no space to open both. Bathroom was tiny too. We bumped into each other several times. Room would be perfect for one person but for two it was very uncomfortable. Citizen M in Amsterdam felt more spacious than this! No sounds insulation, any noise outside the room felt like as if it is in the room.

İch habe die panorama suite gebucht.. es war ein alptraum! Das Zimmer hatte einen offenen zugang zu einem anderen raum mit zwei betten wo auf den betten dreckige Kleidung lag…
Das Bett, daß als Queen Bett bezeichnet wurde war ein altes Bett daß bei der kleinsten Bewegung gequietscht hat und die Matratze vielleicht aus dem Müll geholt wurde. Der Boden war dreckig. Vier Übernachtungen, es wurde nicht einmal gereinigt oder ein Wasser im Zimmer gebracht.

The location of the hotel was truly excellent. It was very close to everything — restaurants, boutiques, the metro and bus stations — which made getting around super easy.

Unfortunately, our experience inside the hotel was not as positive. There was a constant smell of cigarette smoke throughout the hotel, even inside our room. We mentioned this to the reception, but nothing changed — in fact, we even saw hotel staff smoking in the lobby several times.

The bathroom was not clean at all and definitely didn’t meet our expectations for hygiene. Also, the walls were very thin and not soundproof. Even though we’re not sensitive to noise, we were constantly woken up at night when guests in the neighboring rooms came back late, talked, or closed their doors loudly.

Overall, the location was great, but unfortunately, the service and conditions inside the hotel didn’t live up to what we were hoping for.

İçerisi çok eski ve her şey dökülüyordu. Otelin karşısında bir bar vardı ve çok gürültülüydü. İçerisi çok temiz değildi. Giriş esnasında klimanın nasıl çalışacağı ve wifi şifresi iletilmiyor. Telefon dan tahmini olarak 0 a basıp resepsiyonu şans eseri arayıp wifi şifresi sordum. Klimayı zar zor kendimiz çalıştırdık. İçerisinde kahve makinesi var ama kahve kapsülü yok. Anlayacağınız beyoğlu nda kalacaksınız kalacağınız yer burası olmamalı derim.
