When my daughter and I walked into our room, the toilet seat was up and the water was running. The bowl was stained brownish red and there were pubic hairs on rim. There were two queen beds. Mine had definitely been slept in and not changed. There were long hair strands on one of my three pillows and in the bed as well as small short black hairs on top and under the top sheet. There were also hairs in the moldy shower. It really was gross. Not what I would expect for one night at $139

This was perhaps the most unclean and unsafe lodging we have ever seen. The poor lady at the front desk tried to be helpful and we looked at 3 separate rooms, all of which reeked of smoke and mold problems. We refused to stay and found another hotel in the area. Because we booked through Expedia, we were told they could do nothing and we would have to report our problem back to Expedia for a refund. Still in the middle of that problem resolution with Expedia support.

I usually don’t expect much from a 2 star hotel but I’ve been fairly lucky with modest clean 2 stars motels/hotels on the past, especially from Best Western. Unfortunately this one really didn’t meet my modest expectations. The room looked nice and modern overall but the bathroom was DIRTY. There was some sticky drops next to the toilet and whoever mopped the floor just pushed dirt up against the baseboard.
The mattresses were old and the springs popping up making it very uncomfortable.
Breakfast surprised us. Pretty good for a 2 stars hotels with scrambled eggs, sausage and potatoes!

Bc it’s summer and stayed in Sat night, no other hotels had available rooms, so that we could leave. Switched first room bc of bed bugs, second room had no bed bugs, but bedding not the cleanest and bath so dirty had to leave without a shower. Now I can’t get a refund for the $179 its cost. Expects is supposed to be contacting me regarding stay/refund

This is probably top 2 worst hotels I’ve ever stayed at in my life
The smell of illicit smoke as I walk into the hotel area was ridiculous
Then we get to our room which I specified to be non smoking and the disgusting smell of cigarettes as you enter ,had me coughing all night. I’ll be at a walk-in today if it doesn’t stop. We have stayed at numerous best westerns over the past 10 years or so. Hardly ever a problem . Even if it was a so so stay
. But I felt the need to write a review about how awful this place smelled. . In hopes that other people don’t have a bad experience like we did
Even my wife who is an ex smoker said it was so gross in that room.
Please don’t let this fall on deaf ears . This makes me not wanna ever stay at another best western ever again. I never ask for a refund , but I would be disappointed if we weren’t refunded for this

The posted pictures are NOT what the rooms look like at all. The bed springs make noise when sat on the bed. Felt the springs. (Found out they are 20 years old). Hair in the shower. Let’s just say we left and found another place to stay. I have NEVER done that before but I did not feel like it was clean enough to push myself to stay 2 nights.

I reported a broken beer bottle by the entrance door on 2nd floor about 5:00 Saturday evening & 7:30 Sunday morning it’s still there.
Hotel hallway smelled of weed but that’s the clientele.

If I had to complain about something it would be that our king size bed's mattress was hard as a board and hubby and myself have bad backs and didn't sleep well during our stay. However, I did not complain about it to them. I would go again ( I'd just request another room)

It was my first time staying at a Best Western. While the staff was very friendly our bathroom left a lot to be desired. The last guest had left her garments hanging on the back of the bathroom door, our tub consistently filled up with water while showering, and there was hair on the blow dryer. We were only in town for a short stay for a concert, but definitely expected a better condition for the room. The staff was very plesent and had offered to retrieve the garments. The hotel was all booked and we didn't have another option for another room. While not the worst experience, it could have been better.

Check in took 40+ mins because they had trouble finding a “clean” open room, even though the hotel was not at capacity and we had already paid. Another guest was given a key to our room and tried to get in while we were sleeping. Fire alarm went off for 30 mins at 1am for no apparent reason.

Our “non smoking” room had cigarette butts sitting next to the window, all the surfaces were dirty and sticky, and there were small curly hairs all over the bathroom and bathroom towels. Stains on the sheets, walls, curtains and floors. Baseboards were filthy and peeling away from the walls.

Key card only worked at certain entrances. Garbage and terrible smells in all the stairwells.

Only left 2 stars and not 1 because the woman checking us in was nice and apologetic about the lengthy check in time.

We had only one issue during our stay…but was taken care of immediately after I called the front desk and then they called back to see if I had any other issues and if everything was okay now . Staff was very helpful needed extra towels, very quick to respond!! The only problem was which didn’t interfere with our stay and wasn’t really a problem but they had several people living there so it seemed but it didn’t affect us in any way . Just something we observed will be staying there again in the near future

It would be easier to say what didn’t go wrong. As soon as we walked into the main lobby it smelled horrendously of cigarette smoke with nobody smoking nearby at the moment. There was also a styrofoam bowl of half eaten dry cereal on a lobby chair. The two FDA’s were decent but we initially had an issue with our room key not working, (our room was on the complete other side of the building) and they fixed that. We get into our room and it is a complete disaster. Both queen beds unmade, lights on, bathroom door is open, light and fan were on. Almost as if someone rolled out of bed and left. After a 3 hour drive down and being in the sun for 16 hours we did not feel like it was going to be a clean stay and opted to go home because it was such a terrible welcome. They offered to get us a new room but declined and drove the three hours back home and were not charged. Although polite, NO ONE was remorseful about this, not even the two FDA’s but more importantly the manager who i had to deal with the next morning to get the refund straightened out. He talked to me as if everything was our fault and it was a big inconvenience on his end, and did as little as possible with saying “yeah sorry about that” word for word on regards to the issue. So it seems that this has happened in the past, and will continue to happen. Never, have I dealt with such a poorly run hotel and miserable manager. We will never think of coming back. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere if you can.

This was the worst hotel we ever stayed in. We did not have hot water for three days. Wednesday morning when I got up to shower and prepare for my dialysis treatment there was no water. The water had been completely shut off which is not good for keeping the access area clean. Upon returning we were told the hot water heater was being repaired and would be on in the early evening. That did not Upon our return later that night. Needless to say that did not happen. I will never stay there again and don't recommend others to stay. The hotel needs a complete renovation and a owner who cares about the condition people are staying in and not just money.

We got in last night at 1am, after calling around 10:30pm to tell them we were going to be late. No answer, rolled over to main best western number. Told them and they were going to pass on message. Got there at 1am, no one at front desk. Waited about 5-10 min, called hotel number again, rolled over again. So pissed and cranky and tired by now. Was contemplating finding another hotel but by then, at 1:30am, lady stroll on in. She had “stepped away”, really, for a 24 hour desk. Was tired so figure I’d deal with it in the morning. Got to room, not cleaned too well but bed was ok. Room smelled smoky when I reserved non smoking. It’s 2am now and I just crashed. Now to deal with these issues in the morning. Not a great experience by a looooong shot. Sorry for the long story 😜

It’s what you would expect for a cheap rate. One of the bottom Best westerns we have stayed in. Smelt like smoke everywhere and the cleaning staff were extremely loud in the mornings, yelling and listening to music up and down the hallways.

Entering the lobby gave a strong smell of weed, along with the stairwells. At the pool, two women were opening smoking their weed and it smelled terrible. The room itself was okay for the purpose of needing a place to stay for a lacrosse tournament. The breakfast was decent and the shower had good water pressure. The price was right, but wouldn’t recommend to a friend.

The front desk staff was very nice. The room (and the whole hotel) smelled bad. The floors were not clean, though the sheets seemed to be, thank goodness. My daughter wiped every surface with clorox wipes but refused to leave her clothes in the room because of the smell.

One of the lights didn’t work in our room and depending what door you exited the carpet smelled like someone urinated on it and never cleaned it.

Room itself was clean enough. The beds were creaky. The bathroom ceiling and corners of shower were covered in black mold. The water coming out of the bath tap was chocolate brown to start off with and there was more water running down the wall behind the shower head than what came out of it. The small sink left no space to put anything other than a bar of soap. No place to put anything if you use any kind of product. The pool was brown. They were freshly painting railings which was nice, but no wet paint signs ment fresh paint on your clothes. The person on front desk at check out couldn't even say good morning or how was your stay, he just pointed at a basket to drop key cards in.

Seemed as if people are living here. I felt unsafe there were people hanging around outside late at night. None of the exterior doors were locked, anyone could get in with no key. In addition glass on at least two of the exterior doors was shattered & taped up. The platform on the bed in room 131 squeaked whenever you moved. The carpet in the halls on the first floor was filthy!! This is my second bad experience staying at a Best Western, this is also my last time staying a Best Western Hotel!

Please have your staff call Erika to get us the credit. There were flies in the room; under the bed there was food and garbage; floors and bathroom were dirty and we had a 19 Month old running around. We will never stay here again!

When i arrived the facility smell of marijuana. There was a party going on all night in the room next to mine and the music stayed on all night. My kids and i could not sleep peacefully. I arrived back to my room after a storm on one of the nights i was there to find total darkness and it stayed that way almost an hour. One good thing was my room was clean.

Convenient But Not So Clean

The property is very convenient for the purpose of our trip to attend the Dover Air Force Base air show. It’s less than a half mile from the north gate. The cleanliness of the rooms is not satisfactory. The first room they gave us had a dirty bathroom. They moved us to another room and the bathroom was even worse. So, they cleaned it in the first room they gave us and we went back there. The floors of the room are simulated hardwood. After awhile I looked at the bottom of my white socks and they were black from walking around on the floors. Other than that, the beds were comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful. If they step up their cleaning game, I would give this property a much better review.

Our rooms were infested with ants, we were here for my brothers wedding and our brothers cake made it from Wisconsin to Delaware with no problem, until we checked in, the ants ate and ruined the cake and other food we had, one worker said we would get half off our stay which were fine with... They then changed their minds and did only half off one nights stay, so not only did we spend $400 on 3 nights living with bugs, we never got an apology or a reimbursement for the cake which to replace on short notice was $650 at a bakery 80 miles away. I wouldn't stay here.

The only good part of the stay was the breakfast.
Everyone was friendly but the accommodations were just not good. The room was dated and had a very strong stale odd odor I couldn’t quite figure out what it was. The beds were very uncomfortable, the fridge didn’t get anything cold. The bathroom doesn’t have any space for toiletries. Also left a towel hanging in the bathroom to dry over night and in the morning it smelled of cigarettes. Would have complained or left if not for how late and limited options were in the area. Definitely need better water pressure and cleaning people could clean rooms and tubs better. I got a jetted tub and had to clean the brown ring round the tub myself. Other than that I will definitely be back the spa tubs are so amazingly relaxing and all at a affordable price. Overall was very pleased with everything else and felt like I was at home can’t wait to come back
