We had a very small dog with us. We’re given a choice of two rooms both on the first floor. Both rooms were very tired and smelled poorly. The two yellowish orange chairs were very dirty and the room we chose unfortunately had an ice machine in front of it, which made a lot of noise throughout the night whether people were using it or not. The toilet in our room would randomly run on its own and the toilet seat would not stay open consistently. The floor was extremely worn with tatted and torn areas. The breakfast was mostly all gone at 9:35 when it was to go till 10 AM. There was no hot coffee. The remainder of the eggs was all dried out when ask if there was more coffee. The lady who was running the hotel was very kind and understanding, but we have yet to see any type of refund. Very sad example of a Best Western PLUS!!! We have preferred this brand and it is typically a trusted name but not this time:(

For what Best Western Plus stands for … it was average. The room and bath were clean and tastefully decorated. The bed wasn’t that great of a mattress. Water was hot, shower average pressure. The breakfast area was not very sanitary and kept up during the rush of people coming and going during that time. Lady at desk was friendly.

I was skeptical of BW as a brand but this hotel was just what you want when traveling. Clean, friendly, helpful and quiet.

Only negative were that we could smell what was cooking in the breakfast area - we were on the 3rd floor. That can be a bit gross at 5am.

Not happy at all, they have the heat in their room on a motion sensor so if you dont get out of bed and move infront of the sensor every 10 minutes the heat doesnt go on and the room gets freezing. Cant sleep in a cold room and waking up multiple times through the night leaves you exausted. Told the front desk and they say they know about the problem and its supposed to be for the AC not the heat and they should get it fixed soon and have multiple complaints.. shouldnt put people in a room with no heat!

The overwhelming smell of air fresheners was overwhelming. I could hardly breathe. Trying to shower in the tub was dangerous because the floor was so slippery. I had to tie a towel to the grab bar and hang on to it while trying to shower... terrible! The breakfast this morning was utterly gross. The food looked inedible, dried out and cold. We didn't trust it to eat. The bed was so old, I could spring in my back. My back hurt this morning and had to take a pain pill. The towels had visible holes in them. So old and thin.

The common areas and the room had a funny smell to it.
The hotel needs to be renovated. It’s at least 25 years old.
The front desk personnel was very nice and helpful. Parking was ample. The breakfast was not very good and the cook was feeding one of his buddies before taking care of the guests. That’s kinda sad in my eyes. It all falls back on the management doing a poor job.

Put in 1st room & TV didn't work; the front desk gave us a new room, but at 2:30 a.m. someone was trying to get into our room. We reported the incident to the front desk and they admitted messing up but didn't offer anything more than an 'oops' we messed up and tried to give your occupied room to someone else. The hotel is old and not very clean.

The hotel in general, and the rooms especially, were very dirty and in disrepair. My business partner and I reserved two rooms, and after checking in and taking our suitcases to our rooms, neither of us unpacked. His bed was broken. The floors were stained. There were holes in several walls. A light flickered. We left and checked into a different hotel.

The AC kept the room cool through the night. My only issue with my stay was the lack of coffee in the room. The coffee pods provided did not fit the coffee maker. The front desk said a coffee machine in the breakfast room was available 24/7. When I tried to get coffee early the next morning before breakfast was served, the man preparing breakfast chastised me in Spanish and shook his finger at me because I turned the light on to see what I was doing. So incredibly rude.

Easy access to I-70, but most restaurants are farther away. GREAT breakfast with attention to having every thing well supplied. Loved the choices of breakfast items and availability of salsa and hot sauce for eggs. Room was clean comfortable and newly renovated.

The beds were average but not comfortable. Doors would slam from rooms closing and echoed throughout the hallway. Floors were laminate not carpet and it gave the feel of a hospital room. The price was the same as other hotels in Hays but the comfort was not. Too many other choices in Hays for same price. I would not return to this hotel given the price and other options for lodging in Hays.

The staff there were very friendly. Our problem was that we were not able to use the deadbolt on the door because it doesn’t line up with the door and they are actually aware of that. Also, there was an electronic device attached to the corner uncovered? Why would they not cover that up?

Clerk at check in very friendly. Super easy to get to off the freeway. Very nice place to stay. Bed was comfortable. Only issue was the curtains only close part way and the outside parking lot lights very bright...did make it easy to see when getting up to bathroom during the night! Hehe
I can't comment on the food as we left without eating breakfast.

I know rain showers are trendy, but I didn't like it at all. Very low water pressure, and water falling straight down from above is not ideal for rinsing all body parts. Not practical at all. Otherwise, the room was lovely.
