My stay was amazing first time travelling to a resort like this solo and was incredibly relaxing the room was amazing and the view was brilliant.

The bar staff were incredible and really made the evenings memorable the food an entertainment was brilliant.

Loved the a la carte options and the view from the upstairs restaurant was amazing at sunset.

Overall would 100% stay here again.

This was a lovely place to visit but we felt it could be so much more with a little investment. The two pools were rather crowded and the hotel should make one adult only which would enhance the experience. You must have a car to get around as it’s a little out of the way. The accommodation is good and spacious and we found the staff really lovely. One last little gripe was the speed that some of the staff drive golf buggies around the paths and annoyingly never offer to give you a lift which we found strange, that said we were comparing it to Dubai where the staff that drive buggies always offer to give you a lift. I’m just lazy :-)

Beautiful surroundings, friendly and professional staff, and delicious food. The local cats were a wonderful surprise and also super friendly. There were numerous activites at the resort and a convenient bus to the beach area. Beach Comber at Stallis beach was beautiful, relatively quiet, served excellent cocktails and amazing food. My only critics of Village Heights were:
1. What is/is not included in half board is not well explained at time of booking - I only found out this information on day 2.
2. The power cut out multiple times daily. Only for a few seconds, so it never caused an issue, but it was slightly worrying.
3. The sign at the cats feeding station states they are neutered, but they are not; kittens ahoy!

We stayed for a week end of August. All restaurants staff are lovely, polite, professional and caring. Reception staff seemed a bit too cold. The food options were great, the market shop was great, not overpriced and well stocked. Rooms were clean however need some upgrades , walls were stained and feels a little old for a 5 star hotel.

Nice 5-night family stay

We had a nice family stay at Village Heights Resort. The amenities were good: we played mini-golf multiple times and it was also great that the hotel had tennis equipment that we could use. The gym was also good. The food was at a good level and the choice was quite broad. There was also an option to have a local Cretan breakfast at the Rodies restaurant which was lovely. We used the shuttle to the town a couple of times, which was convenient

I stayed for two weeks with my 7 year old. We had a lovely relaxing time and didn’t want to leave! The hotel grounds are beautiful and spacious providing lots of entertainment options from the three pools to minature golf, tennis court, cooking classes, kids club and spa. Overall hotel of the very good quality. Only disappointment was at the arrival when we were told that reservations are required for the beach bed and umbrella. Reservation requirement was never mentioned at the time of making booking nor at the hotel web site. Consequently we had to find our own beach and pay for beach bed/umbrella for the first two days. I fully understand that beach’s bed/umbrella aren’t owned by the hotel, but hotel could do better communication.

For me this was a near perfect set up if you want to relax and unwind, having a collection of villa's rather than a single building means it doesn't feel cramped, likewise being spread out over a big site meant you rarely felt you had to worry about getting a space by the pool like you can at other places. The staff could not be more helpful, most of the extras food and drink where good value and a mini market onsite meant you could top up any supplies easily. No real negatives other than the \"mocktails\" were incredibly expensive compared to normal soft drinks but that is a choice I made equally the local town is VERY touristy and so don't go there expecting an authentic Greek experience. If I want to chill for a week by the pool in the sun this would be top of my list.

We had an issue with the beach shuttle which resulted in ordering a taxi. The staff was very kind and gracious as a result of that issue. Otherwise, everything was wonderful!

Perfect tranquil getaway!

Fantastic rustic and rural getaway in Crete. Staff all extremely friendly and helpful, nothing was too big an ask. Everyone we met on the trip were also very friendly and kind.

The resort itself is pretty faultless, every member of staff is super kind and friendly, they all looked after us so well from reception to restaurants. Food was fantastic at Rodies - probably the best meal we had as well as Sofas Taverna in old town Hersonissos. Cooking class was brilliant and well worth the money; wine tasting was very generous and we had a three-course meal.

There's no huge international buffet or anything on mass scale, which for me I love! If you're not interested in the local culture it probably isn't for you as it's very traditional, tranquil and just the perfect rural holiday for a total switch-off. We'd love to be back.

Pools were immaculately kept and very peaceful, even with the odd kids around (we did go in September so it was quieter). Never had to queue for anything and all maintained well, no drinks or food left lying around.

The room is probably the only part which needs touching up, it's a little dated but also is a style thing - very Cretan and rustic. It was perfect for what we needed, though the bathroom was in need of a proper clean as we had some ants/dirt behind the door. Not a major issue as everything else was pretty much bang on!

BEWARE! POSITIVE - The staff are excellent -helpful, polite and knowledgable. The setting of the main restaurant with views over the pool is lovely, service is great & buffet food was of a good quality. Entertainment here was great. The pool areas are very clean with plenty of sunbeds. Beautiful grounds and communal areas.
NEGATIVES - The All Inclusive is terrible! It is nowhere near the standard you would expect for the price point with so many items charged at an additional cost. We would expect this for high end items like wines, seafood etc but the majority of things incurred extra costs (focaccia bread, local cocktails, all except one beer, freshly squeezed orange juice etc). You can only see the additional charges upon arrival using the App. We complained to the hotel who said that the \"all-inclusive are for selected food and beverages only except the special cocktails and food due to the price”!
The rooms are very dated and uncomfortable - not luxury at all. The mattress on the sofa bed was rock hard, bathrooms are dated with a hairdryer attached to the wall and over bath shower/shower curtain. No coffee machines, just a few sachets of nescafe and sugar scattered on a tray when you arrive which were not replenished. The rooms were clean but not spotless. Our towels were not regularly replaced despite being left in a pile to indicate that they were dirty. We were expecting authentic Greek with modern conveniences but these rooms could easily have been from 20 years ago.

Overall a nice two week stay. Apartments are starting to look and feel really dated. Room 1104 was right next to the pool but a bit noisy with dragging chairs of the restaurant early in the morning and late at night. The resort felt a little less friendlier than we experienced in previous stays - just felt kind staff didn’t interact as they have done previously. More casual options for dinner are limited in the resort but it’s easy enough to get into town - but it would be better if the resort put on more shuttle buses after 1945pm. Overall a nice stay and a worthwhile trip. 4/5 stars!

Nice resort with a lot of “sign up” sheets for seemingly everything, including the laundry room (which has two washing machines for a very large resort).

But my big complaint is the pool hours: 10:00 to 18:00! That’s too short, especially in the middle of a heat wave! Basically the resort’s best feature was only usable 30% of the time!

Cretan restaurant was excellent. And the room was nice too.

Loved our stay here for a week in late August. Resort never felt too busy despite being full. Buffet excellent with lots of choice and different each day. Kids loved the pools and it felt safe enough for them to go off (age 9,12) unsupervised for short periods. Good entertainment and the staff were helpful and just lovely, all the time. Great to have shuttle bus into town for a change of scene and some shopping. Views are beautiful. Good gym and v reasonable mini mart on site

The things which could be improved in my opinion are:
1. Extending closing time for the swimming pools, from 6pm to maybe 8pm(?)
2. Spa - make it possible to pay on the room as I was requested to pay immediately at the point of booking (3 days in advance). I didn’t have my card with me so was given an hour to pay! But I wasn’t planning to return to the room and wanted to relax. I found the whole experience stressful, with hard sale attitude….. and please do not continue comment/speak to your colleague in Greek during a conversation with a foreign client, it’s rude. After a while I decided to cancel the massage as the whole thing felt wrong.

Definitely will recommend this beautiful hotel, surrounded by nature, with great views and friendly vibe :)

If, like me, you have never been to Crete before or are looking for a hotel with some soul and authentic Greek feel then PLEASE book a room at this resort.

I had to book this resort fairly late in the day after having to cancel a previous trip to Kos - and I'm so glad for it now!

Firstly, the resort is beautiful. Each \"room\" is like a mini-villa and they only differ based on the number of rooms you need with the larger ones having a private plunge pool. This shared experience really makes you feel as if everyone is in a little community. Secondly, the 'gardens' are almost like a botanical attraction, they are well maintained with huge variety and very fruitful with lemons, pomegranates, olives and herbs - they are not like the sculpted segments of vegetation you get at most hotels. Being the only resort on the hills in the area, every villa can see the sea from their windows flanked by the mountains and hills and enveloped in the gardens - everyday it was beautiful even when cloudy.

The staff are exceptional, very friendly and welcoming and happy to help with anything. The Greeks are a lovely people and this is reflected perfectly by the staff - a particular shout out to Georgios and Marianna in the restaurant for their conversation

Hotel lovely, staff fantastic. The only two issues I have with this hotel are the Animation team, very rude and just ignore you. They have there favourites and ignore everyone else... The other issue is, the hotel is a Timeshare hotel. So quite a few of the guests are returning customers. Not all but a large majority treat it like its their own hotel. And look down, and talk down to the other paying guests. Again very rude and think they are above everyone else!

We had a great time, and we even told our friends that the only three things we didn't like the least was the amount of bees that roamed the hotel and it's scary to get stung, the second thing is that the nights were cold and we didn't have a scarf to cover ourselves at night, the next day we asked the maid and she did bring us a scarf, but it had a terrible smell And 3 more nights we were cold at night, and the last thing is that there is no cheese at breakfast, every day the same and there is only one type of cheese to smell. Besides that, we really liked the hotel and had a great time

The resort is located up in the hills about a 10-15 minute drive to the closest beaches, however the resort provides a free shuttle that will take you so a car in not needed. There is a small shop located on the property to buy essentials for the kitchen, and the multiple restaurants on site provide excellent food and drink.

We had a wonderful stay at the resort, the grounds and views were amazing and created a relaxing atmosphere. The staff went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and that we were enjoying ourselves. Stefano, the Food and Beverage Manager went above and beyond to make our stay that much better with his friendly demeanor and ensuring that we had a great dining experience throughout the day. We had special dietary restrictions and together with Chef Michalis they made sure we had delightful meal each night in the Elia restaurant.

Excellent hotel and service, people are amazing. Kudos to George (the restaurant head) for ensuring a perfect service all the time, and to Maria and Stafanis in the big pool for pampering us and make us feel really well!
Only 1 suggestion to make it really perfect, PLEASE don’t use plastic water bottles in the restaurant, these ahould but in reality are not recycled and end up polluting such a paradise and the sea, please use glass bottles as in many other restaurants in the island.

A hole in one !!

I am a regular visitor here. It’s clean, tidy and a very nice area. The staff are fantastic and can not do enough for you.There are quiet areas if this is for you and plenty of things going on if you prefer a more active hour or so. Location is fantastic for views and the golf course and the food is very very good. The spa has great staff and the Cretan massage is recommended.

Staff were extremely polite and professional. Were very helpful during my stay and accommodating. Food at the restaurant buffet was impressive especially given the amount of guests at the property.

Only down side would have been the on-site wifi which kept on cutting out for the duration of the stay.

I understand the spa facilities are outsourced and whilst enjoyable did seem that treatment are overpriced.

Great hotel - very peaceful and relaxing. Lovely staff who went out of way to help. Indoor pool but would have loved for the outdoor pool to be heated!

Great hotel. Dont visit in October though. We went the week of half term and the stay was great for the first couple of days. By day three though, restaurants were closed so we hired a car and went into town every evening. The amenities and service also went downhill. We wont be going back.

This Resort is super great with everything needed for a great and relaxing stay. Unless you wish to fully chill out then a rental car should be considered although there is a bus/transfer service from the resort but it finishes early in the evening. The views and facilities are wonderful and we have so enjoyed all that it has to offer. The staff are quite remarkable and the receptioon lady Maria was brilliant.

Spacious resort grounds, meticulously maintained with a beautiful pool and sunbathing areas. The Studio unit we rented was beautiful, complete with an efficiency kitchen, large bathtub/shower combination, comfortable bed and small patio. Although there is a lot of hilly walkways and stairs, they had golf cart transport available with a friendly Porter as your driver. Terrific food in their buffet restaurant, as well as a more formal restaurant with more gourmet style food. We added this one extra night on to the full week we had stayed using a timeshare exchange. The daily shuttle bus rides to the town of Hersonissos and back to the Resort was very convenient and was scheduled throughout the day into early evening. We loved our stay at this wonderful Resort!

Excellent for families and 35-plus

Quiet, comfortable and great amenities and facilities. It doesn’t attract the 18-30 crowd, so if you’re and older couple or a family, I would highly recommend it.

An oasis of comfort and calm

Only a forty minute drive from the hustle and bustle of Iraklion, Village Heights is a perfect contrast, a place to relax and recuperate. All the accommodation is beautifully designed and although it describes itself as a golf resort, you certainly don't have to be a golfer to enjoy it , or get the most out of it. It really is like a village, with the apartments spread over a wide area and surrounded by beautifully maintained gardens. Our apartment was spacious with a kitchen area, outside veranda and, delight of delights, a bathroom that actually featured a bath, rather than just a shower. Bliss

Fantastic resort - rubbish wifi

Really great resort. Big pool area with plenty of deck chairs and umbrellas. Lots of activities great for kids. Free shuttle into town. Its a shame the wifi didnt work much during our 3 night stay. Very frustrating we had to go to reception area if we needed to look up something.

Not quite what we expected - numerous issues

We really wanted to enjoy this resort and were looking forward to this stay. We had issues with bugs enough to need to call the front desk, They sprayed for us but we continued to see more. One night our downstairs bathroom smelled like a sewer. Again a call to the front desk. Had horrible issues with wifi but didn't say anything. The front desk at check out said antenna may have been misaligned. The room just had an overall dirty feel to it - not what I was expecting after seeing so many good reports.

Excellent resort. We have stayed here for the last three years and four of the last five years and find it to be accomodating. well run, and a wonderful location for our adventures on the island of Crete..We had issues with the internet but that was the only issue

Beautiful Views

We planned this visit in November before all of the US tariff ruckus and other problems. By June we were rather nervous about how Europeans would treat us. No worries. They welcomed us with open arms and asked us back😍. We arrived without our luggage because the airlines lost it. The resort persistently contacted the airlines and delivered it to our door the following day. The views of the sea were amazing in our room from a distance. The breakfast buffet had something for everyone and was moderately priced. Our friends went to the evening buffet and liked it. We ate at the poolside bar--getting hamburgers or hoagies with many fries and cold beer. The incidentals shop had many snacks and toiletries, beer, wine, breads, and cheese. We visited them daily. The Expedia price was excellent.
