Villa Medusa is perfect, Nikos the owner is lovely. 5 minute walk to the old village square, the food in the square is very traditional is good value, if you are there on a Monday it’s greek night if you want to eat a decent restaurant you will need to book 2 days in advance.

Really good

Overall a really good stay Nikos the owner is always there if you need help which we did on a couple of occasions one occasion in particular when my daughters room had no electricity within half an hour nikos had an electrician on site to sort the issue out and it was resolved very promptly.
The location of the villa is quite rural but 600m from hersonisoss village with all the traditional tavernas which produced some amazing cuisine.

Cute little hotel, bit remote

Very nice hotel, we arrived late but the owner kindly left us a note and keys, room was up graded free of charge to a bigger sea view room due to our other room having a trchnical issue. Met the owner in the morning, very nice guy, very informative. The hotel was a bit remote with the only public bus station being a 30 minute walk away down a 60 road, the local town was very cute and had a shop near buy, the room was big and clean, bathroom a bit dated but definitely worth the price we paid!

Affordable perfection!

We stayed at Villa Medusa last week and it was amazing value overall! Really close to the beach but still in a quiet area, great view of the sea, and a nice pool to cool off. The owner Nikos was so helpful and he even let us stay for the day after finding out our flight wasn't until the evening. Highly recommend this hotel!

Convenient hotel close to Chersonisou

Experience was positive, I had a good time in this Hotel and the stuff was helpful.
I was expecting a better room, website pictures reference did not correspond exactly and i was a surprise but it was great to have an amazing swimming pool and Chersonisos village just min away from the accomodation.

The hotel is nice.

You can find everything in the apartment. The host is very friendly. Nikos is always ready to help. However, if you don't have a car, it will take a lot of time to get to the sea as it is rather far. The place is quiet. It's for the people who are tired of noisiness and wants a good rest and relaxation. Nearby you can find a bakery, a mini market. In the evening you can enjoy having dinner in one of the taverns which are not far from the hotel.

Quiet, relaxed, initially lost!

Our trip started in chaos following our flight out with easyjet. Arriving near midnight in Heraklion meant finding the hotel was more than a little challenging. Address not quite right, and post code off on the sat nav meant it took us 2 hours!
Helpful hint here: Drive straight along the big road from Heraklion towards Agios Nikolaias and do not turn off until you arrive (approx 30km later) at temporary roundabout signposted for Hersonissos. This should be a left turn. Immediately after a little underpass take the righ hand turn. Then the next two lefts. After 2-300 yards you should see a big hedge with a sign in it (and I mean litterally in the hedge) saying Villa Medusa. It has white gate - you are there!
The hotel itself was very clean - we had the room at the very top - doublebed, lovely bedding, aircon fantastic, two balconies - one sea view and the other garden/pool. Nikos thankfully provided a bottle of water for arrival on the first night - Cretian water is very chlorine flavoured from the taps - beware this will affect tea/coffee so best to use filter water for those! The pool was great. Unfortunately the pool bar was not open when we were there :( but, as the only holiday makers, there we did practically have a private pool so really can't complain!
Kitchen facilities were a stove top and a fridge. Frying pan and large pot provided. No tea towel so may be best to pack one. Otherwise towels were provided.

Fantastic service great for relaxation

The location is different to on the map. It is actually right next to hersnossisos village. The area is super quiet and the village has everything you need. I would recommend hiring a scooter or a car. I did not but a taxi to new hersnossisos, on the coast, is only 6/7 euros. The owner Nikos is very friendly, helpful and nice. He helps you then leaves you - no awkwardness. The snack bar was closed as the villa was empty apart from me in the daytime, which is fair enough as I was on holiday alone.

Great stay at Villa Medusa

The appartments are located up in the old village, away from the noisy and busy downtown Hersonissos, yet with all the necessary shops and tavernas.
A pleasant villa, with a swimming pool surrounded by a lovely garden.
The owner, Nikos, is very welcoming, helpful and generous. His warmth and kindness really made a difference to our holidays.

Un accueil déplorable ne comprend pas le français .Wifi pas dans toute les chambres, piscine à l’ombre très vite et peu chauffé par le soleil

Hallo Niko, vielen Dank für die netten 6 Tage in Villa Medusa. Nette, kleine Anlage, gut gepflegt, sauberer Pool, sehr freundlicher Umgang. Das Zimmer und die überdachte Terrasse sowie die Aufenthalte am Pool waren Grundlage für schöne Tage und wir beabsichtigen, nächstes Jahr (dann aber für länger) wiederzukommen. Wir melden uns dann. Auf Kreta zentral an der Nordküste gelegen und verkehrsgünstig angebunden; perfekt für Ausflüge mit dem Auto.

Diverse Tavernen im Ortszentrum sind fußläufig in 5 Minuten erreichbar.

Zimmer sind zweckmäßig eingerichtet und sehr sauber und werden täglich gereinigt. Pool ist mit moderner Filteranlage ausgestattet und ebenfalls sehr sauber. Für die Selbstversorgung stehen Kühlschrank, Herd, Wasserkocher, Kaffeemaschine und entsprechendes Kochgeschirr bereit.
Die Betten sind sehr bequem, sodass man viel zu lange schläft.

Nikos ist meist immer anwesend und bei Fragen immer sehr hilfsbereit und spricht auch englisch und deutsch.

Die Anlage ist angenehm klein gehalten, perfekt zum Entspannen und Relaxen

Logisticamente comodo se si dispone di una macchina.
Luogo tranquillo e camere ospitali.
Da migliorare la manutenzione di piscina e arredi. Angolo cucina da riorganizzare per permettere la preparazione dei pasti. Nikos , il titolare, molto disponibile. Piu caffè!!

Uitmuntende accommodatie

Ontvangst was bijzonder vriendelijk door de eigenaar Nikos. Er stond al een lekkere koele fles water klaar en alvast de mogelijkheid om een heerlijk kopje koffie te zetten. Fantastische bedden en douche \"wauw\", zelf met een massagekop.
Ook de schoonmaak van het appartement was geweldig, door de lieve en behulpzame Heleni.
We hebben onze vakantie daar in rust doorgebracht, wat ook hoog in het vaandel staat bij de eigenaar.
We al In het kort gezegd \"voor iedereen aan te bevelen\".

Ruhiges Haus mit familiärer Atmosphäre

Wir wurden von Nikos sehr freundlich empfangen und konnten uns ein Apartment aussuchen. Der Wunsch nach einer kleinen Kaffeemaschine wurde sofort erfüllt und zum Frühstück brachte uns Nikos noch Honig und frische Feigen.
Der Pool war, wie die gesamte Anlage sehr sauber.
Insgesamt eher einfacher Standard, aber für uns genau richtig und wie beschrieben.

Nikos a su nous conseiller durant notre voyage ,nous avons très bien été accueilli à la villa médusa ,village typique calme avec commerce et restaurants à proximités, mes enfants ont adoré la villa ,si nous devions revenir en Crète nous reviendrons avec plaisir séjourner à Hersonissos à la villa médusa l'endroit et facile et accessible pour visité le reste de Crète ,un grand merci à NIKOS et à bientôt.

Amazing villa in the village

The first day we arrived very late due to delay, and we informed Nikos which was kind enough to wait for us.
The next day we woke up with an amazing view of the villages and the sea.
We then went quickly in the pool -and gt a little tan. The villa is close to the old hersonissos village which has amazing restaurants!!
Villa Medusa is very clean, everyday the bed was made, floor was cleaned, towels. It has a fridge for your food and water,(even ice)
The showers are clean and new and nice and warm water.
The beds sleep amazing, which is perfect after a long day exploring Crete.
Nikos(the owner) is very very nice, superfriendly and makes a chat with you and everyone everyday. Which makes it a very special stay in villa medusa..
We will come back for sure.

Villa Medusa en perle på Kreta

Et helt igennem fantastisk sted. En sød rar og imødekommende vært, der gør ALT for sine gæster. Det mest rene og komfortable hotel med daglig rengøring af værelser, skift af linned og håndklæder og et super rent poolområde og bassin. Skøn beliggenhed i det gamle Hersonissos. Fred og ro og alligevel masser af små tavernaer. Et yderst venligt og imødekommende lokalsamfund hvor man føler sig velkommen. Vi kan på det varmeste anbefale Villa Medusa og vender helt sikkert tilbage hertil.

Schijn bedriegt..............

Bij aankomst bin het appartement vond onze \"gastheer\" het niet nodig om zijn telefoon gesprek te beiindigen en liet ons een kleine 10 minuten wachten alvorens ons te woord te staan......
Na 3 dagen kwam hij naar ons toe en zei (niet vroeg) dat we van kamer moesten wisselen .Ik gaf aan even iets te moeten doen en dan zou ik naar hem toe komen om hierover te praten.
Toen dit vervolgens naar zijn zin niet snel genoeg ging trok hij mijn reisgenote aan haar bovenarm mee richting receptie en brieste daar dat we de volgende dag naar een andere kamer moesten.
In ons nieuwe appartement werden we binnen enkele uren verrast met stroom uitval die pas na 5 uur verholpen was, ook in dit appartement waren de matrassen super hard en ook hadden we hier niets meer om ons wasgoed op te hangen.
Na meer als 30 jaar Griekenland/Kreta ervaring was dit de meest negatieve ervaring ooit!!!
De gastheer lijkt klantvriendelijk maar schijn bedriegt!
Wij zullen het in ieder geval zeker niemand aanbevelen......

Choose this hotel and get so much more

I can highly recommend this place. It is quiet and you get time to rest. The owner, Nikos is one of a kind! He really want you to enjoy your staying. Villa Medusa is near to restaurants in the old town. You have to experience the food and the atmosphere there. I recommend to hire a car, cause it is to far to walk down to the beach.

Abbiamo soggiornato a villa Medusa alla fine di luglio, 12 giorni indimenticabili. Ambiente famigliare, tranquillo e ben curato. Personale cordiale e attento ad ogni esigenza. Camere pulite e riordinate ogni giorno, come in hotel, con la possibilità di cucinare perché provviste di angolo cottura e confortevole veranda per pranzare o cenare all aperto. A disposizione dei clienti anche una graziosa piscina con lettini e ombrelloni. Insomma, non manca proprio nulla. Grazie Nicos!

Une semaine parfaitement réussie

Un accueil chaleureux, de la gentillesse, de la discrétion, un environnement des plus agréables, nous sommes ravis de cette semaine chez Nikos. La chambre était très agréable (ne pas oublier de fermer les fenêtres en soirée car les moustiques se tiennent prêts !) et c'était un grand plaisir de prendre le petit déjeuner au calme avec la mer en point de vue. Une adresse vraiment sympathique.

Huoneistohotelli oli erittäin mukava ja siisti,omistaja/isäntä erittäin avulias.Matka Hanian kentältä oli suoranainen pettymys/yllätys,200km kolmella eri paikallisbussilla matkalaukkujen kanssa, alkoi usko loppua.Lentokenttäkuljetus piti olla,35km hotellille!!!!

Appart - Hôtel et propriétaire accueillant

L'hôtel était bien rien à redire sur équipement et propreté.
Juste une suggestion pour le propriétaire : il faut qu'il inscrive en dehors de son bureau le numéro de téléphone portable où il faut le joindre en cas de problèmes quand il s'absente.
Qu'il inscrive en plusieurs langues selon ses clients, pour ses chambres qui ont des cartes magnétiques
\"qu'il ne faut surtout pas fermer la porte en sortant sur la terrasse commune devant les chambres en laissant la carte à l'intérieur car ils sont fermés dehors\".
Et pourtant si la carte n'est pas dans son boitier la lumière est coupée à l'intérieur et ....à l'extérieur !.
Ce dispositif est bien pour les hôtels classiques où l'on ne sort de sa chambre uniquement pour partir ailleurs mais pas pour un appartement avec sa terrasse à l'extérieur.

Nette vila , rustig gelegen , nice vila quiet

een leuke nette rustige villa , gelegen net buiten het oude stadsdeel van chersonisos,
de vila is van alle gemakken voorzien, airco , simpel maar net keuken blok met koelkast en kook gelegeheid. schone badkamer met wc en douche en wastafel. de kamer is voorzien van een goed bed.
het zwembad waar je gebruik van kunt maken is zeer schoon en heerlijk om in de ochtend een paar baantjes te trekken voordat je er op uit gaat. de eigenaar is erg behulpzaam en wil je met alles helpen met goed raad. ook kan hij een goedkope taxi voor je regelen van en naar de luchthaven. kort samen gevat mooie vila erg aardige eigenaar erg behulpzaam , schoon en alles wat je nodig hebt is aanwezig.

The vila is fully equipped, air-conditioning, but just simple kitchen unit with a fridge and cooking facilities. clean bathroom with a shower and a sink. The room is equipped with a good bed.
the swimming pool you can use is very clean and lovely to draw before you venture out. a few laps in the morning the owner is very helpful and would like to help you with everything good advice. Also he can arrange a cheap taxi for you to and from the airport. brief contained beautiful vila very nice owner very helpful, clean and everything you need is available.

Quiet, very comfortable bed, nice swimming-pool.

We had a very pleasant stay in this villa. It is located in a quiet place, and it is just 2 minutes away from the National road without hearing the noise. The owner is caring about your comfort, the room (#4) was clean, the A/C was working, and the swimming-pool was a nice place to rest. It is not in Hersonissos downtown: you need a car to drive there, which takes 5 to 10 minutes. If you do not find anyone when you arrive, just open the fence/gate manually, and yell to ask for someone. If the phone given by Hotels.com is not working, remove the leading zero, or call Hotels.com to make them call the owner; this happened to us when we arrived.

Très bon séjour dans un hotel calme, cadre agréable avec jardin, arbres, fleurs, piscine et transats, chambre spacieuse, bonne literie, terrasse vue sur mer, tout est très propre, parking gratuit. Merci à Nikos, le propriétaire, pour son accueil et sa gentillesse. Je recommande vivement.

Idéal pour être au calme et décompresser

Superbe chambre d’hôtes plutôt que hôtel pour ma part. [séjour en \"love nest\"]
A coté du vieux village ou vous pourrez trouver de quoi faire à manger (avec votre four, frigo, plaque et bouilloire dispo dans votre chambre! ainsi que de la vaisselle). Attention cependant, la plage est a 40 minutes à pied.
Les chambres sont très propres tout comme la piscine, l’hôtel est très agréable et est entouré d'arbres et fleurs ( citronier , figuier, raison, amandier).
Nikos fera tout pour vous faciliter votre séjour, il est très attaché à ce que vous ne stressiez pas et profitiez pleinement des vacances !
Superbe séjour !

Petites indications : Vous ne disposerez de rien pour faire la vaisselle (eponge, liquide, egouttoire)
