Exceptional resort great facilities all over it wonderful beaches access & use of beach areas exclusively for hotel guests, amazing breakfast options, fabulous diner although limited options great gym facilities incredible spa facilities clean huge & incredibly relaxing. A little distant from Tropea town but no problems with transport to & from, about 15 mins by car a huge 5 stars from me fir this wonderful resort!

The place as a beach resort is excellent and i would have given it 5 stars except 2 major issues:
- miserable internet and wifi connection. Couldn’t do any work or even send emails
- the breakfast buffet (which is included in the price)doesn’t have a coffee station so to get a coffee one has to order it and wait 30-50 min to get the coffee.
I drew these issues to the attention of guest relations and hope it will be fixed before next visit which for sure will do

This property is fantastic. The pool and beach area are beautiful and relaxing. Our room was good size as well as a great bathroom with a separate shower (large size) and tub. We had a nice balcony as well with an ocean view. The views of Stromboli and the other islands was great. The breakfast buffet was outstanding with a chef making custom omelets and crepes, very fresh fruit and nice pastries. The staff was very good- Noemi at the pool bar was outstanding!

In terms of value, I would say this didn't really love up to what it costs. It was absolutely beautiful; perfect beach, good amenities, clean pool and affordable options for water activities ie paddleboarding, free towel service, etc. But—when you're in the south of Italy, near Tropea, the land of delicious, sweet red onions, and Pizzo, known for their delicious truffle dessert—it's very disappointing that the food at the resort doesn't reflect this. Because it was offseason (end of September) only one restaurant was open for dinner and that restaurant happened to be the fine dining ristorante Mantineo. The food was prepared in advance, you could tell, and overall anticlimactic. Portions were insanely small—I understand this is a fine dining restaurant but when the food is not rich in flavor and small, it leaves you hungry. The beach bar Stromboli was open during the day, it was simply fine. It's not difficult to have basic items on the menu ie cozze vongole, aglia e olio, simply ragu. Not sure why the menu was overcomplicated and bad.

we were paying ~€20 a dish at dinner and after 4 dishes our stomachs still felt empty. At the restaurant, which had an extensive wine list, we were told there was nothing left except one €150 bottle. Sorry, but no.

First impression was great, apart from the winding road in and out but view amazing. Staff at reception were fine and we got checked in quickly. Room great. We were here for 10 days which was fine but the breakfast menu never changed and it got very boring, staff in restaurant were not very efficient and you had to wait a long time to get drinks both in the evening and morning. Food was not topped up very quickly so had to go back several times sometimes to get what you wanted. Drinks at the bar were very expensive as was lunch if you had it. Beach towels changed everyday. Room was always kept clean. Kettle provided when asked. Great views from the rooms over the sea.

Great Location, Private Beach, Very Scenic....BUT!

We had a pleasant 2 day stay, unfortunately experienced problems at checkout, which is the only reason I could not recommend this. At checkout staff attempted to charge prepaid reservation, I recommend to be aware of possible billing issues, I was given receipt for my charges with name of another guest. Attempted to get a correct receipt issued during the last 4 weeks and hotel refuses to correct error. Make sure all info is correct before leaving hotel. Customer support experience with hotel after stay has been poor.

Beautiful hotel amazing setting needs improving

3 days out of a month visit to Italy , this was the most expensive hotel we stayed in during this visit unfortunatley did fulfill all our expectations having stayed at Sofitel hotels in the past. Wifi was mostly non existent , air condition poor made noise but did not cool the room, the food was mostly cold with some poor choices such as sliced mushrooms out of tins for breakfast , serving dishes empty very often , not up to the standard expected from such a chain.

Relaxing break

We had an excellent week's stay at this hotel. The quality of the accommodation was good, the architectural design of the hotel is particularly impressive. We chose to book full board and particularly enjoyed the healthy selection of food on offer at lunchtimes.
We enjoyed the relaxed feel of the resort and the modern and comfortable facilities.
We appreciated the 'low key' entertainment in the evening - this was very tasteful, comprising of a piano soloist. He was excellent, it created just the right atmosphere in the evenings to relax and enjoy a cocktail!
A few things to note - there is not much in the local vicinity, this wasn't a problem for us as we were there for the relaxation.
There are only 2 small bottles of water included during your stay - we helped ourselves to the daily restocked water in the minibar only to find the full quantity on our bill at checkout.......
Wifi coverage in certain areas of the resort is a little sporadic.
Finally, there was no information about the resort in the room - it would have been good to know about the spa offerings, activities, meal times etc without having to ask every time!
Overall - a great holiday and would recommend the Capovaticano

One week's stay in June.

Great hotel with super pool and beach setting. Worth having a room with sea views as the sunsets and views of Stromboli and Lipari are not to be missed.
Room was large and very comfortable and fitted with all the usual amenities. The maid service was excellent and bed linen changed very regularly.
Good safety cover at the beach and pool for unsupervised swimmers or emergencies.
If anything was below par it was the restaurant. The choice of food for all meals was more varied than anyone needed . It was self-service which again was ok but I would have liked to have had the choice of an al a carte restaurant that was more private and deserved by the rating of the hotel in general.. The existing area for meals was fine for breakfast but pretty ordinary for supper. The area was tight so the coming and goings of people helping themselves meant that it was far too push and shove. If you don't have children with you then those there can be annoying when the kids club has not taken them in.
I did enjoy the poolside lunchtime restaurant. The food was good as was the service and menu choice at reasonable prices.
Hotel a little cut off but trips to Tropea were daily and worth going. Coast around Capovaticano was super.
Good place to try out your Italian. Not like Sorrento where English is the norm.

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to this area. It is new and so beautiful. It is also very quite as it's off the beaten path. I do recommend getting a car though as if you want to explore the area you will need one. The breakfast and dinner included in the room is well worth it as the food is incredible and there are many choices. Totally impressed with this place!

spa, pools, sauna, she grosszuegig angelegt, sauber, Salzwasser, nicht wie oft mit Chlor zugeschüttet, sehr gut verträglich, freundlicher service im gesamten spa Bereich

im Hauptrestaurant, wir hatten dort nur Frühstück, gute Auswahl, allerdings bis mit italienisch Kenntnissen hat man es leichter, Englische Kommunikation nur spärlich moeglich, schade
Am Beach restaurant service freundlich und hilfsbereit, Auswahl fuer paar Tage reichlich, allerdings immer dasselbe
die ganze Anlage ist sehr zur Entspannung angelegt, sobald man die Serpentinen runtergefahren ist, beginnt das relaxen.....

Wunderschön gelegenes Resort

Wohl eines der schönsten Resorts Süditaliens. Fantastischer Strand, helle Zimmer, gute Qualität in den Restaurants und im Service, sehr sauber und hygienisch. Pool mit Meerwasser. Die Anlage ist jedoch recht abgelegen, entsprechend empfiehlt sich ein Mietwagen. Empfehlenswert!

I clienti non usano mascherine nei luoghi chiusi,specialmente al ristorante passeggiano tra i tavoli senza protezioni.Anche alcuni camerieri coprano solo la bocca rendendo completamente inutie

Hermoso hotel. En general en buen estado.
Lentablemente fuimos unas semana antes de que cierren. Y la verdad pocos empleados tenian ganas de trabajar. Muchos problemas con el agua caliente. Luego fueron desarmando la playa por mas que tenias pasajeros.
En resumen esperaba mas por un hotel de esta categoria. Y me fallo. Empleados correctos. Pero nada mas. No se molestaron para nada en que nuestra estadia sea amena.

Wir hatten 7 schöne Tag im Capovaticano Resort Thalasso & Spa. Das Hotel müsste jedoch ein wenig saniert werden. Der Ort wo das Hotel liegt ist traumhaft wenn auch sehr abgeschieden. Wer Ruhe sucht ist hier richtig. Wir haben ein Superior Doppelzimmer mit Meerblick gebucht. Unser erstes Zimmer hatte aber praktisch keinen Meerblick und war sehr klein. Da das Hotel S-förmig angelegt ist, Kann es - je nach \"Biegung\" - sein, dass die Zimmer kleiner ausfallen. Wir haben dann ab der 3. Nacht ein neues Zimmer aufs Meer hinaus bekommen.
Was mich enorm gestört hat, sind die hohen Preise für das Essen und die Getränke. Ein Bier kostet zwischen €7 bis 9 (im Supermarkt, 10 Fahrminuten entfernt bezahle ich für das gleich Bier €2!!! - eine Frechheit). Ein Menü auf der Karte ist zwischen €15 und 28. Glücklicherweise haben wir Halbpension gebucht - das empfehle ich Jedem. Das SPA hätte uns grundsätzlich gereizt, Eintritt trotz Hotelgast €40. Hinzu kommt, dass das Dampfbad defekt war - egal, bezahlt wird trotzdem €40.
Die ersten 5 Tage unseres Aufenthaltes funktioniert das WLAN nicht, anscheinend eine Störung welche die ganze Region betraf.
Alles in allem war es ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt an einem traumhaften Ort. Das Personal war freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Baulich einnzigartig. Beste Lage am Meer. Zimmerservice hervorragend. Service im Restaurant manchmal etwas ungeordnet oder begrenzt engagiert. Frühstücks- und Abendbuffet hervorragend. Speisekarte (Primi, Secondi) könnte etwas umfangreicher sein oder häufiger als nur wöchentlich sich abwechseln.
Insgesamt aber ein Tolles Urlaubshotel; wir werden wohl wiederkommen!

Oasi di pace e relax. Un posto incantevole, pulito, di lusso, curato e tranquillo (anche nella settimana di Ferragosto). Personale molto cortese è disponibile.
Da migliorare le proposte della cena (cambiare menù alla carta ogni una e due sere e non settimanalmente) più organizzazione del personale di sala.
Costo di una bottiglia d’acqua Un po’ troppo elevato.

Wir sind bereits zum 4. Mal in diesem Hotel. In dieser Zeit hat das Management 3x gewechselt. Wir haben bei diesem Mgmt eine merkliche Verbesserung in der Zufriedenheit des Personals festgestellt. Die Preise wurden erhebliche erhöht. Was den Aufenthalt merklich verteuerte. Roberto an der Reception und Francesca im Service haben ausgerechnete Arbeit geleistet. Komplimet! Frühstück ausgezeichnet. Abendessen immer noch verbesserungsfähig.

Sehr schönes Hotel in absolut ruhiger Lage. Schwer zu finden, nicht zu empfehlen,wenn man abends ausgehen will.
Getränke überteuert ( 0,3l Bier 6€)
Speisekarte für Mittagessen etwas dürftig u. auch völlig überteuert.

Hôtel magnifique, pieds dans une eau turquoise.
Si je devais donner un point négatif, ça serait le manque d’activité dans la ville proche (Capo Vaticano) et il faut aller plutôt à Tropea. L’hotel est un peu isolé mais s’installer dans un cadre exceptionnel se mérite!
Pour le reste tout est magique: spa, piscine, confort des chambres,vue sur le Stomboli

Tolles Hotel, aber teure Getränke

Das Hotel war super! Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

Positiv:
- lage direkt am Strand
- toller Pool
- genügend Liegen am Pool und am Strand
- super Zimmer (echter 4* Standard)
- sehr hilfbereite Mitarbeiter
- große Frühstücksauswahl
- kostenloser Verleih von Tennisschlägern

Eher negativ:
- Abendessen bei Halppension zwar gut (nicht sehr gut) aber durch das Buffet entsteht eine gewisse Kantinenatmosphäre. Menüform war für so ein Top-Hotel angemessen.

Negativ:
- extrem teure Getränkepreise. 0,33l Bier für 6€ ist zu teuer. Daher kaufen sich viele Gäste die Getränke (Bier/Wein) im Supermarkt und trinken diese auf dem Balkon. Günstigere Preise würden hier den Umsatz sicher deutlich steigern.

Schönes Badehotel mit Schwächen bei Service

Schönes Hotel an einem sehr schönen Strandabschnitt. Nächster brauchbarer Ort ist Tropea, ca 10 km entfernt und mit dem Auto in 25 Min zu erreichen. Leider passt das Service im Hotel und auch das Abendessen nicht zu dem Standard bzw. Preis. Am Strand gibt es ein paar kleine Bars und Restaurants. Cocktails im Plastikbecher bei der Poolbar um 6,5 bis 10 Euro, bzw ein Plastikbecher Bier um 6 Euro bei der Poolbar/Restaurant sind auf jeden Fall übertrieben und für ein 4,5 Sterne Hotel unpassend. Ein Glas Hauswein beim Abendessen um 8 Euro ist ebenfalls weit übertrieben. Das zahle ich in Wien nicht einmal in einem 3 Hauben Lokal. Die Preise für Limonaden und Wasser sind ok, selbst die Flaschenpreise beim Wein halten sich im Rahmen ( leider waren die günstigsten aus??). Ein Tausch von Abendessen auf Mittagessen bei der HP war leider nicht möglich. Aufgrund der oben genannten Punkte war vermutlich auch die Bar am Abend kaum besucht obwohl jeden Tag Live Musik!? Mit einigen wenigen Verbesserungen beim Service und Essen wäre es wirklich ein tolles Hotel, wenn auch etwas abgelegen. Hôtel fabuleux dans une baie paradisiaque

J’ai déjà voyagé beaucoup à travers le monde mais l’hôtel Capovaticano est est un des meilleurs où j’ai séjourné. C’est un vrai havre de paix, idéal pour passer des vacances reposantes. Situé directement sur une magnifique plage de sable fin ( avec quelques petits galets) et une mer à l’eau turquoise.
L’hôtel met à disposition des canoés avec lesquels on peut se rendre dans dans de petites baies merveilleuses avec motifs cartes postales.
On a séjourné dans une suite avec un grand balcon et une vue imprenable sur la mer .
La piscine est splendide et assez grande pour faire de belles longeurs.
L’hôtel est extrêment propre et entouré d’ un magnifique jardin.

Favoloso hotel sul mare

Comfort e lusso discreto. Piscina di mare e spiaggia a pochi metri dalle camere, molto curati i giardini. Buffet di qualità e variegato sia a colazione che a cena.

Die phantastische Lage macht kleine Mängel wett

Phantastische Lage des Hotels, umwerfender privater Strand, wunderbares Abendbuffet. Leider hatte man bei den Service-Mitarbeitern das Gefühl, dass SIE und nicht der Gast im Mittelpunkt stehen. Die Abrechnung der konsumierten Getränke beim Abendbuffet ist undurchsichtig und ohne Beleg. Das Abendbuffet bestand hauptsächlich aus Fisch und Meeresfrüchten in phantastischer Art zubereitet, man konnte sich durch Unbekanntes durch Schlemmern. Die Strandliegen maximal in Zweierreihe und mit viel Privatsphäre! Auch der Pool nie überlaufen! Ein Strandurlaub mit einem Hauch von Luxus! Die Zimmer haben eine angenehme Größe, mit Ausblick aufs Meer und den Vulkan Stromboli. Sie liegen ganz nahe an Strand und Pool, kurze Wege. Die Kinder erfreuten sich über Fussball- und Tennisplatz. Schön gelegenes Hotel, jedoch mangelt es an qualifiziertem Personal.

Villaggio bellissimo e adatto al relax

Villaggio fantastico molto curato, personale tutto molto gentile, unica osservazione è sul cibo che si potrebbe migliorare un po’, in particolare modo i primi piatti spesso erano molto insapore o con i gusti coperti da troppo pomodoro.
