Let me start with how amazing the ladies were at check in. The lady with the braids that has the gold twine woven in was so kind and helpful even going outside in the freezing cold to see if I was parked in an okay spot to not get towed. Then getting me into a space on property. They are really close to the F train which got us wherever we needed to go.

The room was clean and functional (what more do you need) and the price was perfectly reasonable.

The breakfast was good (it was little cut sausage link things (looked like mini kielbasa or something of that nature) instead of the standard continental patties).

Good but parking lot is a bit of a catch

To be honest, I know it was only 2 nights, but the room was so small for 2 double beds that you could barely walk to the bathroom, we had to put the bed right up against the window. And the bed was strange, the middle was lower, leaving it in a position that was not very comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful, great for those who will walk a lot. And what I was most upset about was the parking, which on the site doesn't say anything about having to reserve in advance, and after 8 hours on the road, it was frustrating to have to leave in the middle of the night to look for parking outside the hotel. But I would not say that the hotel is bad, it just needs a little more attention to the guests and parking information to avoid this situation.

This hotel is perfect for the cost concerned traveler. It’s usually half the cost of hotels in Manhattan, and being only a 15 minute subway ride into midtown makes it a great location. Front desk was courteous and helpful. Breakfast was good! Complete with scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, bacon, pancakes, a yogurt parfait bar, bagels, danishes, and cereal. Our room was small but it worked just fine. I’d stay here again for sure!

La primera habitación que nos asignaron olía mal, tenía una sábana manchada, muebles viejos, y varias paredes sucias. Luego de reclamar por esto, nos cambiaron para otra habitación similar que se encontraba al lado de una máquina de hielo (que no nos dejó dormir). Las fotos que se muestran en Expedia no te permiten apreciar que el hotel se encuentra en un sitio que no consideramos seguro (frente a un edificio abandonado y con grafitis); tema que se puede constatar a través del Google Earth. El lugar donde se sirve el desayuno es muy pequeño para la cantidad de huéspedes que pueden alojar; por lo que varios de ellos se quedan de pie, esperando un tiempo hasta que se desocupe un asiento.

This is a great place, very comfortable and convenient. The breakfast includes scrambled eggs, a variety of breads, bacon or sausage, yogurts with your choice of toppings, etc. Best hotel breakfast I’ve had in years. The subway is just two blocks away.

The hotel was comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful. Overall the place was clean but did look a little worn. The breakfast was good but the dining rooms are on the small side so ended up taking the food back to our rooms to eat. The location is good and close to a subway station that takes you right into the heart of New York.

We've stayed here several times since 2011. We feel kinda loyal to the place. Sure, the surroundings ain't great. But we don't need the area to be Times Square! We just need a reliable place. Actually, we don't mind the area. We walk up to a fabulous diner called the Bel Aire in Astoria. I strongly recommend a visit. The reason we originally chose this place other than price, was the fact that you're a couple of stops from Central Park which my kids adored (still do). There's also the beautiful Roosevelt Island one stop on the F train. Awesome place for running or a stroll. Superb views of Manhattan!

Location is not good, near housing projects and far walk from dining options. TV remote didn't work, staff responded slowly, couldn't resolve problem before I asked them to leave (so I could shower for dinner) and asked for return maintenance visit after 9AM the next day, which never happened (I took TV off the wall and resolve issue: dust-coated signal receiver). Furniture more badly scratched and worn than almost anything I've seen curbside for garbage pick-up in NYC. On the plus side: spacious by NYC standards, extremely comfortable bed, very clean (in areas accessible to housekeeping staff), front desk staff friendly.

Rooms are dirty and they will not clean your room unless you specifically ask. The breakfast is very limited and the staff is rude. The surrounding area to the hotel is very unsafe. The other people staying in the hotel are noisy and the staff will do nothing about it. This is at 3:00 in the morning. We regret booking with them and will never consider staying there again.

I selected this hotel based on pricing both stay costs, reasonably priced onsite parking, and breakfast being included. The room accommodations were not great. The door to the room didn’t close all the way at the bottom even with the bolt and latch on, the wall was filthy and the area around the refrigerator was dirty/needed to be replaced. The hotel rooms need some serious upgrading. I did not complain during the stay because the rooms need updating it wasn’t really something that could be “cleaned”. The staff was kind and friendly, check in and out was easy.

DO NOT PAY FOR PARKING! I stayed here specifically because I drove into town to see family/friends. There are only NINE parking spots for this hotel and it costs $20 /day and they direct you to another lot that charges $30 /day. Park ON THE STREET! it is free. The F train is a block away. I wasted $80 on parking not being given proper information about the street parking. There are NO microwaves! Only a mini fridge. The bed was clean and the staff was very nice and helpful but man was this not worth the price... $135/night. (I stayed 4 nights)

I was under the impression with my booking through hotels.com that parking was on site and free however it was not free.. there was a $25 fee for parking that I paid in cash and then after checking my bank account I noticed they charged my card for it also... so now I'm waiting for them to go through \"the process\" of asking the staff about it and reviewing cameras etc.... before finding out if they will refund me the $25.00 charge

It was very good value for my suite. The room was very comfortable, with an extra king size bed and a sofa bed, though it lacked black out blinds which would have made my sleep better.

The breakfast was hearty and filling. The queue for breakfast is quite long. The lack of sufficient tables and seats meant that I and many guests had to eat in our rooms, but looking at the available space, there's nothing the hotel can do about this.

The location is very conveniently close to a subway station. Access to downtown Manhattan, Central Park, LaGuardia and JFK airports is very good. The area is not the best in New York City, somewhat run down, but I felt completely safe.

I will definitely recommend staying here, and if I were to return to NYC will consider staying here again.

The pictures of the property are very misleading. There are no couches in the room and it is very small. Would not go back. Also you have to call the desk for a garbage change and more towels and shampoo. Parking is a mess and you have to pay an additional $25 a night and its behind the building where local homeless people walk through and will beg you for money on there premise. Also they have cameras but they claim they can not access them as I was told.

I'm from NYC but I am not familiar with the details of astoria. this part used to be full of factories and housing units ( it still is). along the river, multiple expensive condos are being built and the neighborhood is slowly changing. near the hotel F train is closeby, but you still have to walk past the tenament buildings. overall i like the hotel. wondering about the sleep inn behind (is it the same but cheaper). have fun in nyc

Do not stay here.... yes it is not far from LGA, and there is a convenient subway stop nearby - however this is an extremely dangerous, dirty, and intimidating neighbourhood in the middle of \"the projects\" (according to locals, not my assumption). Some of the staff are extremely unprofessional, unknowledgeable, and rude.
The hotel itself was clean, modern and new. The rooms were perfectly fine. Will never stay here again, do not recommend this hotel under any circumstances.

The hotel was pretty clean, but room space was fairly small. I assume it’s a New York thing. “Available parking” consisted of 9 spots on the deck. All other parking was 1st come 1st serve street parking. But I wouldn’t recommend that, unless you manage to get a spot on 21st street on main road. My family used the subway & left car parked on road. Roads around there were sketchy at best. You’ll also hear sirens until 11pm, then again by 6am. Convent to subway & locals were pretty helpful with that, so try not to pre-judge.

The Hotel is great as well as the parking situation. On property it’s US25 per night, but there is on street parking. Limitited as well as unlimited parking. The Neighbourhood is okay, while there is a housing projects with low income people around. Just be careful.

The Subway is a 5 minutes walk, perfect.

I will always choose that Hotel, when arriving with a car,

This hotel has the most friendly staff ever! The checkin was smooth and we were greeted by 2 jolly ladies. They immediately set us up with maps and tips since it was our first time in NY. Also the breakfast was great. Yasmin has been very helpful.
A little downside was that our fridge wasn't working and we only came to know that after we'd bought some food for the next day. In the end we had to throw it all away :( But apart from that I totally recommend this hotel. I WILL DEFINITELY COME BACK.

This place is used as a shelter and it's just crazy how the noise level at this place is. I stood in room 508 which was a nice room but the room next door was like a party house all night!!! I called the front desk several times and all I was given was a sorry. I knocked next door and the person in the door seemed to be on drugs and clearly didn't care. Would I recommend this place if ur on a budget and away from the jerk in room 506.

I was given a room that was filthy and disgusting.. soon as I opened the door I could’ve have threw up being that I’m 6 months pregnant.. it was so horrible. I had to travel back down to the lobby.. I was then given a new room which was missing tissue and wash clothes.. I had two small children with me and it was just a mess.. very disappointed with this experience but I can say the pillows were comfortable that’s about it and they did have cartoon Chanelles that my girls loved.

Although the hospital is “non-smoking”, the room next to me was continuously smoking pot and the entire floor including my floor smelled like a skunk. They were playing loud music the entire night. I called the front desk 3 times and they did nothing. I was in NYC responding to the COVID crisis and had to work a 16 hour day with patients with only a few hours sleep. Awful experience!

Bad experience on a few fronts

My shower was cold and we didn’t have time to get it fixed because we had already spent time getting a toilet noise fixed. The doors outside our room were unnaturally loud when closing that it kept us up (we are not light sleepers). When I said we had a bad night to the woman at the front desk, she literally just offered me my receipt for the night and with no additional response. Really bad experience here.
