Not easy parking, but i am very disappointed becuase I had to leave the hotel 2 days before scheduled , and they couldn’t reinburse any money.
They say Expedia didn’t allow them to do it.
Expedia knew about the change of dates before I arrived to Italy.
Not fair at all.

Hotel Bosone Palace had an outstanding location right next to major sights of Gubbio. The staff was super friendly and helpful and had upgraded us to a room with a terrace with views to the valley without asking. The breakfast was great, served in a room coveres with frescoes. I woud definitely stay again!

It needs a facelift desperately even though I understand an old palazzo which needs to be protected but being a 4-star hotel, it needs hit certain standards. I’ve been staying at countless hotels in the past 20 years throughout Italy, and have stayed at hotels in more than 51 countries in the world at this point in my life.

Excellent hotel!! Super comfortable beds, amazing breakfast, and friendly staff! Very clean. It’s in a great location.. you can drive the car to drop of bags but have to park outside of the town center. Really enjoyed our stay here and wish we had stayed longer.

A very special Palazzo

A beautiful old Palazzo, very comfortable bed, and the staff were most helpful. It’s great to stay right in the center of this ancient wonderful city and be given free underground ( important in the summer heat!) parking. The dinner in the hotel restaurant was also excellent with a lovely garden setting.

Nice but a bit too warm

The location and the setting were very nice; unfortunately the air conditioning was broken. Personnel was very friendly but not everybody speaks English. The location is very nice, right in the middle of Gubbio but this means you hear noises from the streets (mostly tourists partying).

Gubbio is an amazing town. The hotel is an old castle. the delicious breakfast is served in and unbelievable vaulted room with frescoes. This was a great place to stay. desk people didn't speak much English but we got by and had fun doing it. We hiked up to the hill above the hotel and there was snow on the ground. Walked around the amphitheater ruins in town. Had a good meal right below the hotel

A beautiful palace in Gubbio

We stayed in the suite with the painted ceiling and oversized king bed - the room is far larger than it appears on the website about 50 sq m - the decor is magnificent - the sitting room which has a double sofa bed is the size of the regular rooms - the bathroom is a standard size with shower.
Service was very good and the free parking at the \"Funiva\" is a five minute walk from the hotel.

Lovely little hotel

We stayed two nights in Room 212 which had been recommended on Expedia. The room is up a small circular stairway. Room 212 is huge -- and is actually a suite with a separate sitting room. The bedroom is enormous, with a very high frescoes ceiling. There are large windows in both rooms that look downhill over the town of Gubbio. This was a lovely place. The staff were gracious and very helpful. I would highly recommend it.

In the old town of Gubbio, there are only narrow, one-way streets. Finding the hotel was a bit of an adventure, but not unpleasantly so. There were a few places where signage could have been improved, so we looped once or twice until we found the next correct turn. The hotel is 100 yards or so past the Piazza Grande, so the location is ideal.

Staff very helpful and pleasant,
Rooms not huge. Hotel right in town which is great and convenient but can be noisy especially if it is warm and you need the windows open.
Air conditioning units in room but couldn't find how to switch them on. After a couple of days we asked at reception and they handed me a remote control.. would have been useful to have this offered on arrival since daytime temperatures were 35C. Alternatively a note in the book in each room would be useful.
Overall though a very convenient location although navigating the one way streets to get there to unload luggage could be a challenge especially when some roads are closed for various events.
Do not assume you can park close by but thats no different to any centre of down location.

A lovely hotel in the historic center of Gubbio

The hotel was perfectly situated just a block from the main square (Piazza Grande) and a short walk to the Funavia, with views over the old town and the countryside beyond. Our room was enormous, with a frescoed ceiling, king bed, sitting room and modern bathroom. The staff was extremely helpful and attentive in every way. The only shortcoming was the breakfast, which offered a limited selection and poor quality.

A \"five plus plus\" hotel, except for the noise

As of the first night, it was our best experience ever in any of our many nights, over the years, in Italian hotels

ALAS, on our second night, we suffered up to 12:30 a.m from very loud \"music\" from some nearby bar/restaurant, which we have reason to guess might have been the Besone Restaurant. (It was very quiet the night we arrived, when we were told that the Besone Restaurant was closed)

WHAT A PITY -- In every other respect, the Besone Palace was sooooooooooo perfect.

A great location in hilly historic Gubbio

We spent 8 days at the Bosone Palace in the center of historic Gubbio. The staff was uniformly friendly, helpful, and right on top of things. At our choice, we stayed in two rooms, a smaller one on the 2nd floor and a larger one with a balcony and a cramped bathroom on the 4th. Wi-fi was slow with a very short range, and the lighting in the rooms was dim, making reading hard. But the location was everything we hoped for.

Excellent hotel right in the center of the old town. Furniture and decor of the room is suggestive of an old palace. The only downside is parking is a distance from the hotel. The good news is you can pull up in front of the hotel and drop off your luggage. We will definitely stay here again!

Old City Comfort

Located in the old city on a very steep hillside the hotel is positioned well for sightseeing. Our room was on the top floor and, although not large, was very comfortable and had a terrific view of the valley below. A very nice young woman performed all of the tasks very cheerfully including check in, porter, bartender and concierge. She recommended and secured a reservation at a nearby restaurant that proved to be one of the top 3 meals we have had so far.
The only drawback is that parking is located about 1/4 mile away. Not a deal breaker by any means, but not very convenient. All of the streets in the old city are narrow and one way with no parking for visitors.

Winter holidays in Umbria

I have been visiting Italy and all of its regions since 1979. This is the first time that I spent Christmas/New Years in Italy. If you are looking for a leisurely, romantic vacation this is the time to go. The Hotel Bosone Palace was a fantastic location to be based out of while in Gubbio. We had a wonderful Christmas diner in their restaurant, featuring traditional and regional specialties.Our bedroom was enormous with frescoed ceiling. Everyone was receptive and helpful. We couldnot have wished for a better time!

Great location.

Based on our room, the hotel is in the \"faded glory\" stage, and could do with a refurb. Our room safe didn't work (flat and corroded batteries), and it was very complicated to get new ones provided so it worked. They eventually came from a sister hotel in the same town.

History at its best!

This was my first trip to Gubbio, and the Bosone Palace is every bit as magical as the town itself. Elegant, warm, historic ( Dante and Petrarch were in this building- in the very room where the breakfast buffet is served). Amazing place!

The Bosone has all of the big three: clean, quiet, dark. But is has so much more. The hotel is big, beautiful, stately old building about halfway up the Orvieto hillside. The bar/lounge and breakfast room have gorgeous views out the window over the valley below. The staff was incredibly helpful and kind. What more can I say? Highly recommend.

I love Gubbio and this is a great place to stay, though it's tricky getting to it. Reservation should include driving instructions & map through the streets of Gubbio. I knew where the hotel was, but not how to drive there, so walked up, up, up to the hotel (in the rain), got the instructions and walked back to the car. You then park in a public lot. But this is a beautiful medieval city and worth the effort.
The staff was friendly and helpful with directions.
Charming breakfast room with delicious choices.
Short walk to Taverna del Lupo.
I wish I was still there.

Junior Suite: huge bedroom with painted ceiling and antique furniture; separate sitting room; wonderful views over the town to the hills. Bathroom small, with shower curtain, not shower door.
Excellent breakfast in delightful room. Whole premises pleasing to be in.
Excellent location, just by the Piazza Grande.
Not cheap, but OK value for the quality and style.
We left latish, and they looked after our luggage for the morning. At midday we had a coffee and a tea in the lovely lounge (salotto), good quality, nicely served: only €3.00.

One of the best Italian hotels in one of the quaintest, friendliest cities in Italy! We loved everything about our stay at the Boscone Palace in Gubbio , Italy. The staff were very accommodating and even went out of their way to feed us breakfast early the day of our departure. Their restaurant recommendation for the Taverna del Lupo was dead on! We will definitely return!!

We loved Gubbio and the Bosone Palace. Very historic, beautiful and memorable! Near the top of the old town very close to the main piazza. Parking is difficult and the streets very narrow but it is an ancient city! Loved the whole esperience. Nice rooms and breakfast!

We had a very pleasant two night's stay at the hotel. The breakfast room is lovely and service very good.
Our first evening was very quiet, but the second evening had the bell of the church ringing almost the whole night.
Overall good reception and location. Parking also near the hotel.

A Gem of a hotel in a Gem of a town

The Hotel Bosone Palace was just as described in all the reviews. We had two bedrooms and each one was very well appointed. The bathrooms were newly renovated with roomy showers and fluffy towels. We dined at the Terrace restaurant behind the hotel. The setting was beautiful and the meal good for the price. The morning was offered in a beautiful room and displayed a good selection of pastries, cereals and yogurts. The croissant was the best one we had in Italy. The hot beverages were made to order, so the Capucino was simply perfect.
Just keep in mind to park on the Parking lot for the funicular close by. It will save time and effort dragging your luggage through this beautiful hilly town.

Once we had found the hotel ( very difficult) we enjoyed our 4 night stay......despite the builders working very close on the roof of the ensuite showroom ( we had to drape a towel on the window).

The hotel was well located for walks around Gubbio, lovely medieval hill town..

Breakfast was standard italian. You appear to need to pay 4 star hotel prices to get fruit or boiled eggs.

Eating costs in Gubbio were very high especially at the 2 restaurants owned by the hotel group so beware.!

This hotel is in central Gubbio which is a beautiful walled town in Umbria. The inside is clean and fresh but the outside looks a bit offputting and is run down. Our room was small but perfectly formed. Our only real complaint was the breakfast. We had exactly the same thing for 7 days. Preformed ham and thin processed cheese. Little bread but assortment of pastries. In an area of such culinary delights it was disappointing. The staff were friendly and helpful and we had a pleasant stay.

Pros: in the heart of Gubbio,in a fascinating historic palace.
Cons: it is totally unacceptable that an hotel that wants to be a 4* hotel hires rooms without Air Conditioning. I expect that an \"Economy room\" may be small or have a poor view, but not without air conditioning!
In 2023, in a touristic place in Italy!
The receptionist told us that, of course, rooms with air conditioning were available, but at higher rates...
The room (toilet, linen) was clean, but when we had to open the windows to breathe, we had to deal with very dirty shutters.
So, in general, experience really under expectations.

Belíssimo palácio localizado no coração de Gubbio. Atendimento fabuloso, com equipe afinada e muito prestativa, seja por mensagens antes da hospedagem ou no local. Quartos perfeitos, cômodos e limpos. Desjejum delicioso. Não à toa está recomendado nos principais guias sobre a cidade, incluindo o meu de 1998 de toda a Itália. Provavelmente o melhor da cidade!

In un Hotel 4 Stelle che si rispetti anche in una stanza economy l’aria condizionata dovrebbe essere inclusa ma a quanto pare non e’ così e chi sceglie questa proposta merita una lunga agonia notturna, fatta di schiamazzi notturni e temperature infernali, non migliorativo il pinguino poiché da una parte esce si aria fredda ma dall’altra calda...

L' hotel è un antico palazzo storico al centro di Gubbio. Camera pulita e confortevole. Personale gentile e disponibile. Colazione abbondante. Parcheggio pubblico gratuito, a circa 8 minuti di distanza.
