Extended my stay & had to swap rooms as my previous room wasn’t available. The room was in the 6th floor and right under the restaurant which meant I was unable to get to sleep until gone 12am due to all the loud dragging chair noises etc right above me! Then got woken up at 6am with the same noises as they set up the room above for breakfast which then continued all morning. Massive contrast to my first 2 nights in a different room where it was lovely. Will definitely go back to the hotel but not in the last room I ended up in!

Great hotel, location, and upgrades overall. Surprisingly in contrast to all upgrades, the rug was in terrible condition (likely to be replaced soon and thoughtfully slippers were provided). The fan in the bathroom could be cleaned. Other than that, wonderful experience and stay!

The hotel and rooms are very nice, however they are not sound proofed as described. There is a bar on the roof that blasts music that rattles the whole structure especially the elevator shaft. I didn’t expect this at all, and when they finally shut off the music just before 11 everyone spilled into the street and since rooms are not sound proofed I ended up switching rooms to an inner room at around 11:30. Pretty annoying. Nothing against people having a good time on a Friday night, but my goal was basic hotel activity: to sleep and wash, so that didn’t work out so well. I feel management should decide if they are a hotel or a nightclub, and be up front about the noise. That said, great location, nice facility, and helpful getting me a taxi etc. Maybe this is only an issue on weekends. Definitely ask for an inner courtyard room.

Nice hotel in the middle of the beautiful historical part of Piacenza. The room was okay, but mine had an incredibly small safety box that seemed to be more than twenty years old, and the WIFI was downright lousy. The worst I had in Italy on my six-city tour.

I would rate this hotel as a 3.5 out of 5, which is being pretty kind, but the prices for the room and the buffet breakfast were reasonable.

A well-located hotel with onsite parking (not free) close to some of the main sites of Piacenza and many restaurants and bars. Breakfast is served on the top floor which has access to the roof terrace. Unfortunately, rain prevented us from using the terrace at night after our restaurant meal but we could have some good views of the city. A substantial buffet breakfast was available but due to Covid regulations we had to make our choices and a member of staff provided the food for us. A good quality and value hotel.

Great hotel and amazing restaurant on a terrace with the view. Service in the restaurant is amazing and food delicious. During COVID breakfast is a challenge because they make you stay so far away from the food that you have to guess what's in there. If you have a large car, don't try to squeeze into parking.

Diligent welcome and fast check in. Clean and excellent air conditioning, made for a comfortable night sleep.
The rooftop terrace was an oasis after long hours driving in the Italian hit.

We stayed for 2 nights at this hotel. The location is excellent for walking into Piacenza. Our room was a good size, clean and had air conditioning, tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge.
We also parked at the hotel which was very convenient. We have nothing negative to say at all.

Central location and superb breakfast room

Pros: The hotel is clean, roomy, quiet, offers a good bed, and is centrally located - perfect for exploring the town. It has an agreeable in-house restaurant with interesting dishes, good service and pleasant deco. There is a magnificent 7th floor indoor-outdoor bar with a superb view on the roofs of the town; the 7th floor is also the breakfast room, so a great way to start the day … and the buffet is ample, fresh and high quality.
Cons: The air conditioning works, but only on/off - it cannot be regulated! Luckily, the weather was clement, so we just opened the window (drawback: even with the shutters fully down, a mosquito got in). The parking, both for check-in and leaving, is slightly problematic as there is only very limited space in front of the hotel. Over-night parking is very challenging, as the parking lot is wildly overpriced (16€) and moreover it appears that it is extremely tight for more than a tiny car - however, once in, manoeuvring is apparently not too difficult. Finally, the receptionist for check-out was extremely cool (i.e., not particularly friendly).

They charged me 6 euros for breakfast upon checkout EACH day however I did NOT go and eat breakfast not even once during my 4 night stay at this hotel!!! I didn't notice because I was in a hurry to checkout and didn't have time to check the receipt and translate it before I had to catch my train. I'm highly disappointed that I was charged for something I didn't buy!!!! Along with that, the air conditioning was set to heat the room to 25 degrees celsius even when I turned the AC on, it would go back to 25 degrees celsius after a half hour! I also requested no one enter my room while I was out and the receptionist said that wouldn't be a problem- yet housekeeping still entered each and every day against my wishes and even his the pillows in the closet 2 out of the 4 days I stayed. I will not be staying here again, they stole money that was not theirs. The hotel was beautiful however so I am disappointed that this is what happened.

Comfortable hotel in the centre of Piacenza. A very good base to tour all the historical land marks, restaurants and shops. Easy access to the countryside and varied attractions surrounding the town and road links. Italy appears to close in August so some shops, bars and restaurants were closed. The main museum is worth a visit especially for the old carriages collection

Hotel is very difficult to find. GPS will not bring you there. AC turned itself off all night. Staff was nice restaurant was very respectable. Waiter Jalal was wonderful and helped me get my car out of an underground garage built for smart cars. A nightmare getting my A6 in and out without leaving part of it on the cement. I personally would not return for the parking situation alone

Had an excellent stay. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Wish we'd known about the availability of different pillows as we;d have preferred feather to the standard solid foam (which were a bit too solid). Maybe the hotel could advise guests on checking in or make it more prominent on their profile (I don't recall seeing it or noting it particularly).

Central location and very good service

We spent one night in Piacenza as tourists, while breaking a longer drive. The location of the hotel was perfect, right in the city centre. We had some issues with the heating system in our room, but the staff were very helpful in finding a solution for us. The breakfast buffet in the roof-top dining room was good quality and the staff there were also very kind and efficient. The price we paid for the room and breakfast was overall very reasonable.

Pleasant Hotel in the Center of Piacenza

The Grande Albergo Roma is a nice hotel, close to the heart of the small town of Piacenza. Parking was convenient because they have a garage attached to the hotel that can be accessed by an elevator in the lobby. I reserved a spot in advance. The air conditioning in our unit was not working properly, but the front desk moved us to a different room right across the hallway after we waited an hour to see if the room would cool down. That was a little inconvenient but I appreciate that they fixed the issue and the air conditioner in the new room worked great.

One night at Piacenza

This hotel is very conveniently located at the heart of the old town. It is walking distance to all touristic areas. It is a shot cab ride to the central train station.
Breakfast is included and OK (not great but good). There are not enough front desk staff for all the guests so they are very to the point and a bit short. The hotel is a great value for money.

The staff speaks hardly any English, and does not seem particularly serviceminded or friendly.
There is no bodylotion, cream or conditioner available in the bathroom. And there is no where to put the soap in the showerroom - on the floor?!
The least appealing part is the thin walls, so you hear far more than you like to from the rooms closest to mine.

The breakfast is nice, and so is the breakfastroom 👍

Lækkert stilfuldt hotel i centrum af smuk stille og ikke-turistet by. Dejligt køligt værelse - pænt og rent. Pragtfuld udsigt fra hotellets restaurant. Morgenmaden var rigtig god. Meget effektivt personale i receptionen og meget venligt personale i (morgenmads)restauranten. Fin garage under hotellet.

Incredible service, stunning views from the rooftop bar/breakfast area, nice breakfast, and clean rooms. The hotel also offers parking underneath the building. Although the space is tight, we managed just fine with our rented SUV. My only complaint is that the pillows were very firm.

Camera rumorosa e fredda. Giornata piovosa e fredda, in camera entravano Spifferi d’aria fredda dalle finestre. Ho chiesto di alzare il riscaldamento perché la camera ricca in marmo era freddissima, ma non mi hanno accontentato per policy sul risparmio energetico 21 impostati era il Massimo e mi sarebbe dovuta bastare (mai successo di ricevere tali risposte)
