This was our second time staying at Hotel Posta having stayed there for three nights in 2016. We were accompanied by my Sister and her husband this time, as we loved the area and the experience that Posta offered.

After our second visit we can not in all good conscience give one of our favourite places to stay in Italy a five star review. So many things have changed from our initial experience. The breakfast offering is underwhelming compared to 9 years ago which for us is a big deal. We’re big breakfast early dinner while traveling.

The hotel itself is gorgeous, inside and out, but it appears a lack of maintenance might be creeping into the rooms. Our shower was slow draining on day one, and in spite of my digging into the drain did not drain while we had our final breakfast while there.

So elegant

Interesting time to stay as Italy was on the verge of lockdown but standards did not drop one bit at this fabulous hotel. Staff were helpful, the hotel was immaculate and both the choice and service at breakfast was exceptional. I look forward to staying here again.

Nice hotel and nice location.

It was a nice hotel with wonderful breakfast and the staff at the breakfast room was nice. The receptionist with the heavy British accent in English , was very nice until I handed my ID card and he saw my nationality. His voice tone immediately changed. I found this to be unacceptably rude.

Just Where You Want to Be !

I was visiting my granddaughter while she is studying abroad, and the town and hotel felt like a home away from home. Great pedestrian areas for walking and shopping, and the hotel is located right where you would want to be...in the heart of the beautiful, old city center. Great service at Hotel Posta, which has such an amazing history.

The hotel is centrally located and, once you find the place (not an easy task) then walking around is enjoyable. It's definitely NOT a 5 or even 4 star hotel but once you understand that point, it's a nice place. The service (front desk) was very helpful and friendly.

Family of three and booked as a last minute change in itinerary. Great hotel in centre of historical area. Bit hard to find by road even with GPS so ask for some decent instructions. Good room, spacious, breakfast good and overall good value. A quirky hotel in some ways but that suits us a character provides a better experience.

Wonderful 50 year old hotel.

What an experience staying in a structure that has provided lodging for over 500 years. The building is unique and special. The staff exceptionally helpful. Monica got us into a tour of a local Parmegiano-Reggiano dairy at the last minute. The location is right off the main piazza by the Duomo and everything is within easy walking distance. The hotel was not very busy and we received a free upgrade to our room, but that was just icing on the cake foe a memorable stay in a wonderful hotel. If you travel to Reggio Emilia, you must stay at the Hotel Posta.

Have stayed here before and would do so again. You don't expect a 500 year old Palazzo to have all the mod cons of a current hotel, and the flavour of the place is delightful. Also take advantage of their Agricola Acienda Cavazzone- in the country- it's a treat! (Be sure to specify non-smoking room if that's what you want!)

Convenient regional base for trips to major cities

It was fascinating to stay within a central area of an old regional city, with Prampolina square at the door. The actual hotel is 500 years old, and was a Palace. Everything is within walking distance of the Hotel Posta, even the train station.
Shopping is excellent. Cafes wonderful, with the best coffee, gelati, cured meats and cheeses, The taste buds went into overdrive, daily. Easy day trips to Florence, Milan, Bologna, Parma.
A visit to a cheesemaking factory is worthwhile.
People are very friendly, but most do not speak any English.

You take a pleasant step back in time when you stay here, from large room keys to the formal breakfast set up. The rooms are clean and comfortable, but not luxurious. The desk staff couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. It has a great location. I would definitely recommend and stay again.

Don't leave laundry

My friend left a bag of laundry to be laundered through the hotel service. Not only were several of her items not returned, the hotel attendant - older woman with brown hair (the only unfriendly host) treated my friend as if she was stupid for not making list and insisted she pay 86 euro for the laundry even though she didn't get all of it back. The woman was outrageously rude. I want to stress though that all other hostesses were amazing and really helpful.

Atmospheric hotel in perfect location

Reggio Emilia is a gem with extraordinarily friendly people and superb food and wine. We were grateful for this hotel perfectly located on the main square.

A fairy tale stay

Hotel Posta, a great experience, the building, the interiors and the staff made my time in Reggio Emilia a special holiday. I will never forget it. I would be well happy to stay there again.

Wonderful Stay

We stayed at Hotel Posta on the recommendation of our travel agent.
It is perfectly located in the quaint town of Reggio Emilia. We could walk to restaurants and the hospitality shown us was outstanding. This is the real Italy!

Tout sauf \"merveilleux\"

Cet hôtel a une note de 9,2, \"merveilleux\". J'ai donc réservé en confiance une chambre double (même pas une chambre \"économique\"), et je me suis retrouvé dans une sorte de grand cagibi sombre donnant sur une arrière-cour, bien loin des photos présentant les chambres doubles - pour 113,50 euros, tout de même.
J'ai demandé à changer, mais la dame de l'accueil, fort peu aimable, ne m'a proposé qu'une mini-suite (pour le coup très bien), évidemment avec supplément conséquent.
Bref, certaines chambres ont l'air nettement mieux que d'autres, pour dire ça comme ça, et l'accueil est détestable.

Hotel stupendo ed in centro

Muito bom.

Ótima localização. Atendimento excelente.O quarto andar não tem elevador. Quarto amplo mas não tem janelas o que gera um desconforto. O banheiro é grande mas o box é com banheira perigoso para um acidente. Estacionamento no próprio hotel com valete.

Io avevo una stanza singola con un letto matrimoniale alla francese.
Il materasso era comodo e la camera silenziosa.
La colazione sia dolce che salata offre una bella scelta.
Il bagno è grande.
Unica pecca le macchie di umidità sul soffitto del bagno e il caldo in stanza perchè non sono riuscita a regolare l'aria o forse più di così non si poteva. Io non ho chiesto.
La zona è centrale quindi comodissima.
I mezzi pubblici sono scarsi e alla domenica pressochè inesistenti se si vuole uscire dal centro della città.
Al lunedì tutti i musei sono chiusi.

Great Hotel in the old Town of Reggio Emilia

The hotel is situated in the old town of Reggio Emilia where everything is in walking distance. Super friendly staff greeted us and we we offered a free of charge update. We had a comfortable and large room and enjoyed our stay very much. Breakfast buffet is including everything you would think off.

Hanno recentemente compiuto 500 anni di attività alberghiera e la loro professionalità dimostra che lo fanno bene.
Attenti alle esigenze del cliente.
Non sono un grande fan della moquette nella hall, ma pazienza.
Camere pulite e igienizzate con grande attenzione e bagno molto spazioso.
Colazione a buffet rigorosamente servita dal personale per non far avvicinare i clienti (molto apprezzato).
Abbiamo soggiornato solo una notte e siamo soddisfatti.
