We were allowed to store our luggages in a locked room before check in. We didn’t have the correct adapter for charging phones and the receptionist lend us an adapter. Position of the shower head points towards the door. After taking a shower water was all over the floor outside meaning there must be a leak or that the door is not well insulated to prevent water from flowing out. Mat towel was wet and had to wipe dry the floor. What an inconvenience.

Check in was straightforward. We were there earlier than we thought we'd be, and exhausted after our flight. I asked if we could check in early. The answer was yes, for Sfr. 30. I said yes because we were so tired. I feel that was a lot, as the room was not that cheap. But in the long run, what price can you put on a nap? The two ladies at the desk in the evening were super friendly and helpful. The room was compact but very clean.

Efficient hotel room in a charming city
We checked in at the front desk and took an elevator to our room. We enjoyed seeing Basal the next day using free public transportation. It is a very nice town. We chose not to have breakfast, but I didn’t see where you could grab a cup of coffee. There was no coffee or tea in our room.

The location proved as a great “home base” for our day trips. The 16 tram is right outside the front door, the “local” side of the train station is walking distance. For our trip to Paris we took a different tram to the front side of the train station where trains to Paris left from. You could walk through the back/local side but we had large luggage.
The rooms were clean and bright, left luggage was easy to arrange, there are lots of dining options nearby, the TV had English options, there is a hairdryer supplied, and the beds were comfortable.
The hotel is fine but it is the knowledgeable, kind staff that makes this hotel shine!

It’s so close to the central station, there’s a lot of dining options in the area, and there’s also a tram that pass by. Very accessible to a lot of places.

This hotel is really convenient for the main railway station (SBB and SNCF). After a day exploring the city and surrounding area the bar offers a selection of drinks and snacks before ascending to your room. This was most welcome during this particular stay as there was an unexpected mini heatwave!

Good location within walking distance of the riverside area. Hotel does have parking but there are two issues to beware of. Firstly there are no directions to the entrance or instructions about how to enter. Also the entrance is very very steep and cars with limited ground clearance will not safely exit without grounding !!!

We arrived early hoping to check in our bags. Instead the reception manager arranged an early check in, provided tourist information and a Basel Card which gave us free transport and a 50% reduction at tourist attractions. In all this saved us a great deal and assisted us enjoying the tourist sites. The room was very comfortable and located close to the station. I regret that I did not catch the reception manager name so I coud thank him properly but will describe him as a sports lover.

Well located and to our surprise it included a basel cars for each of us, to use all transport and get 50% off of various attractions and places of interest. Has got tram stations within 15 meters of its entrance that take you straight into old town. 6 mins walk to basel banhof sbb and still very quiet. So nicely located for whatever you may need. Why 4 instead of 5 stars? Drawbacks... plug sockets to charge mobiles were too far away from the bed and does not have usb sockets to charge ... it would have been nice if the tv had been a smart tv to be able to use netflix or so. and as well does not have coffee or tea facilities within the room, so rather frustrating. although yes it has a restaurant/ cafe downstairs but still
