Acanthus Cennet Barut states they are a five-star resort but I think this must only be compared to other resorts in the area as they definitely aren't five-star when compared to global five-star resorts we've been to. They have a very difficult restaurant booking process where you are guaranteed to only have the buffet as an option your first couple days as they require reservations two days ahead. We complained as our stay was only for a weekend, so we had no way of accessing any of the other restaurant options. They put us on the waitlist and we ended up going to the Italian restaurant and frankly we should have stuck with the buffet as it was not good. There is no room service, no smart tvs, and the area around the resort wasn't nice except for the beach area. Overall the quality of amenities, service, and food was a 3 or 3.5 star resort.

First holiday with our 8 month old and we really enjoyed ourselves!
Lovely hotel with extremely friendly and helpful staff. Room itself was great - just beware, evening entertainment can be quite loud and can be heard through the windows if you have young babies (we were in deluxe sea view room). The stage was right in front of our room. Having said that, a great view to enjoy the entertainment in the comfort of your room balcony!
Great variety of food which was all of good quality.
Would definitely visit again!

I come to Turkey now just to stay here, three years in a row so far, and more to come I’m sure. I’m only home a day and already missing being right on edge of Med., watching sunset from jacuzzi on balcony and then the stars coming out. Highly recommend! All rooms are good quality but worth going for upgrade. They also recognise Hotels.com Gold members unlike many other hotels. Also great location. Apart from being right on beach, to which staff will bring complimentary drinks from the bar, it’s a nice walk along the shore to the Temple of Apollo (photo) and other ruins. Really quiet at night. Lots of cats, like all around Side, but they are clean and add some colour and make great photos.

Honeymoon holiday ruined!

We had a great time at this beautiful hotel with an exceptional service until we came back one day after our dinner and realized my wedding ring which was left in the room was gone after the evening room turndown service. I must admit that I made a mistake leaving it on the main desk but I just dont like wearing jewellery at all so I didnt realize it until we came back to the room and it was gone. We reported it to the reception, provided some photos that I had it during our stay and they checked with housekeeping but I felt like they didnt take it too seriously and made me feel like I just made up some story. We checked everything and everywhere a few times but it is still nowhere to be found. Don't know what to think about this. I learned my lesson.

I wish I could give them five star because for an all inclusive hotel it is exceptionally clean and calm and the food quality and selection is unbelievable the best I ever had but some of the reception staff were rude. Upon our checking in the receptionist scanned our passports and its not a common practice in other countries my son asked why the receptionist shouted at him like he was not allowed to ask why. It was a terrible first impression my son was pushing me to get back home as it was a very strange experience checking in a five star hotel.

Another Great Stay! But too many cats!!!

This is my second time staying in Acanthus, Side. I came back this year to Turkey just to stay in this hotel. The main staff are amazing, always helpful and friendly, the food terrific and the buffet changes regularly. Everywhere is so clean and the all inclusive policy is fantastic, even a free mini-bar in the room, replenished daily! I have noticed a big increase in the roaming cat population since my last visit. EVERY time I sat down to eat outside or have a coffee, or a drink, there were cats already sitting on the seats, or looking at me, from below, for food (even though there are signs not to feed the cats everywhere, they obviously expect to be fed). I could see some guests, esp. children, seemed to enjoy the cats, but it does not feel so hygienic as sometimes there is cat hair around (but still mostly very clean). BTW I like animals. I was also disappointed that, at check-in, they said I was not entitled to a room upgrade, as a Hotels.com Gold Member, even though it clearly states it on their site and also on my booking. I had to ask for the manager. Then they tried to say there were no higher level rooms available, even though I could show them the site advertising all room types that day. Grudgingly they gave me an upgrade. It was much appreciated, but would have been nicer if it had been given automatically, as I was entitled to it. It does highlight benefit of having Hotels.com membership! Still one of my favourite hotels.

Service exceptional and the food in the Safir restaurant was fantastic.
Our room had partial sea view and the only criticism is we looked directly onto rooms opposite .
I would recommend full sea view rokms which do not have this minor issue .
All in all a fabulous two night break.

Хорошие фитнес-зал, пляж и променад. В целом хороший сервис. Немного дёгтя: очень плохие рестораны алякарт (как ни странно при отличном основном ресторане) и СПА-центр. The hotel is very clean, modern and serene setting for a holiday away.

You get to experience wonderful food that alternates daily. There’s something every night that will be to your liking. We went away with children and the hotel goes out of the way to ensure the kids are happy and have food that suits their needs. On request, we were made toast, chicken and noodles for our children when they missed buffet times or wanted to eat their familiar favourites. Ahmet was our favourite waiter, hardworking and good with children. The head chef was also kind and accommodating to our needs, especially as we had toddlers.

The food and beverage manager, Mr Hassan was super considerate and went out of his way to support us in the hotel and with our efforts to support the Turkish people who were staying in a nearby hotel and were affected by the earthquakes. He went above and beyond and is a true asset to the hotel. A genuine, lovely and caring man.

Another employee who needs recognition is Jasmine. She works in the kids club. She runs the club alone and does it with a great attitude. She has a real passion for working with children and that shines through. Our little ones looked forward to seeing Jasmine and she always treated them like they were special and she makes every child feel that way. I would like to note that out of all the facilities provided at the hotel the kids club should be invested in further. It needs higher quality resources and varied activities.

The staff, food, and cleanliness were excellent. However, the Instagram page appears to have a playground, and this is not the case for this hotel. They are advertising these amenities in this hotel where in fact they are in another hotel from the Barut Collection(Hemera). Resulting in a slight disappointment in the enjoyment of our stay for my son. A big positive was the two employees from the KidsClub as they made my son's vacation a bit better due to the lack of the above-mentioned amenities.

Fantastic overall!

Wasn’t sure if it would live up to all the positive reviews but it really does! Have stayed in hundreds of hotels but overall experience here was well up with the best, and at a much lower price. They don’t sacrifice quality for quantity as it’s all inclusive. All the time being asked what you’d like to drink, even on the beach in front. Staff always cheerful. Food choice and quality also excellent most days. Some small issues such as fact it lacks any internal atmosphere, as it’s all about the pool and gardens. Lobby is boring and long functional spaces abound. Also a pity the balconies with sea view, which cost more, have narrow bars making it feel like a jail cell. Better to have glass barriers like penthouse suites above and many other good hotels now. Also be warned the water sports operators on the beach charge Acanthus guests more. Better to say you are staying in one of the three star hotels, as you have to give hotel name. Highly recommend the paragliding. Very safe. Highlight of beach time. Enjoy your stay. Will definitely be back!

I originally booked this as a surprise for my fiancé's birthday. For both of us, it was our first time going on a \"relax\" or beachy type holiday. I am a pretty well traveled person, but this hotel was honestly the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The food of course was fabulous, and with loads of variety to choose from. I am only sad I could not eat everything!
Every part of the hotel feels luxurious and all the staff members are incredibly nice and far more genuine than I have seen at other hotels.
If you want to do a bit of sightseeing there are many thing within walking distance.
The only thing for me was the drinks, which I often found to be too bitter for me when they should have been sweet. However it didn't change my opinion of the hotel.
I am excited to visit the other three hotels in the Barut Collection as well as return to this one.

Such an amazing stay at this hotel.
The attention to detail was top notch. Everything was clean and COVID protocols were very high.
The food was exceptional, we tried the a la carte restaurants three night and every meal was a delight.
The buffet had numerous options with new things to try daily and more importantly, the service.
Special mention to the team at Lavanta, Safran and guest relations.

This was a Honeymoon trip but we did not mention because we did not want the service to be about special treatment, yet it was that level we got.

We were a youngish couple compared to most guest but found ways to entertain ourselves.
The indoor pool was stellar, the spa was gorgeous and the walks on the promenade were special. The sunsets alone were worth the visit.

nice pool, resort is on a lovely strech of sandy beach, food at most of the restaurants were top class. This was a first time at an all Inclusive and the food here was definitely a highlight.

alacarte bookings were hard to find, staff at checkin barely put a smiling face after taking about 20 mins to checkin and looked a bit disorganised. Would stay here again

Found checkin very disappointing given the hundreds of positive reviews about the hotel. Fatih the check in agent was not very hospitable and seemed disinterested. Also did not acknowledge our loyalty to the barut brand. THerefore checkin general experience negative.
We mentioned beforehand we were coming for a 60th birthday celebration. No acknowledgement of this.
No baby facilities in one room even though requested in both rooms.
No baby bath or baby bottle warmer etc although requested in advance.
Family rooms - shower room glass window fully clear. Not family friendly when wanting to shower privately!
Hotel super clean and very modern and beautiful.
Have stayed at barut hotels approximately ten times and expected this to be amongst the best experiences but fell somewhat short.
Staff in restaurants generally very friendly. Hotel spotless and quality of food excellent.
The reason for main disappointment was our checkin experience and availability of our advanced requests for the baby.

As much as I'd like to keep this hotel a secret I can't. I feel its only right and just to let the whole world know how amazing it is. The new build us complete and is stunning. All inclusive is more than you'd hope. It includes 3 restaurants (Italian - excellent, seafood and international), a pattiserrie and cafe, excellent usual restaurant food with varied alcohol and non alcoholic drinks. Piano evenings in a 24 he lounge bar with balcony that has amazing views.. Security is the best. They move non guests away from beach beds. Beach
clean and Sandy. Daily activities varied.
Amazing, paradise, staff were very attentive and holiday value for money.

Ne zaman bir şey rica etsek \"Memnuniyetle\" ya da \"Keyifle içiniz\" gibi içten cevaplar almak insanı özel hissettiriyor. Tesisin her köşesinde misafir memnuniyetinin ön planda olduğunu hissettik. Çocuklu bir aile olarak huzur, konfor ve kalite arayan herkese gönül rahatlığıyla tavsiye ederim. Bizim için unutulmaz bir tatil oldu, tekrar görüşmek dileğiyle!

From check in to check out, everything was lovely. Greeted with the biggest smile in the reception and accompanied to the room while receiving brief information about the hotel. Room was perfect with everything you could’ve wished for. The smiles continued in the restaurant.
A big hotel but still felt small and private enough. Location was superb, very close to Antik Side with the promenade. Would definitely come back again.

Ein Hotel nahe an der Perfektion. Ich schreibe daher nur auf, was mich trotz all der Schönheit gestört hat.
Total nervig: Liegen am Pool und Strand werden früh morgens reserviert, so dass wir in den ersten 3 Tagen nach dem Frühstück keine Chance auf eine Liege am Pool hatten. Am 4. Tag haben wir dann aus Notwehr dieses Spiel mitgemacht.
Nächster Punkt: das Hotel ist das Zuhause von zahlreichen Katzen. Diese sind auch im Restaurant und den Terassen. Wer das (wie ich) nicht mag und unhygienisch findet oder eine Katzenhaarallergie hat, sollte das Hotel nicht buchen.
Ich habe vor Anreise per Mail zwei Wünsche geäußert. Beide wurden komplett ignoriert. Bei dem Wunsch nach einer Lage des Zimmers ist es dann sogar das komplette Gegenteil geworden. Ich wollte Aussenseite nah am Meer und habe Innenseite das letzte Zimmer bekommen.
Aus diesen genannten Gründen würde ich das Hotel nicht nochmal wählen.
