A great Family Hotel

Hotel Pelops was the most beautiful and quaint small hotel. The staff greeted us at the entrance and made us feel completely welcome. Our rooms were beautiful and comfortable with a small balcony overlooking the church next door. We played family games in the breakfast area beside a cozy fire in November.

They provided a map of Olympia with suggested locations for dinner as well as sites. We have been coming to Greece for 50 years and our stay in Olympia at Hotel Pelops was exceptional!

The staff was very friendly and helpful, providing me with a map that showed how to get to the museums and archaeological sites. Susann also recommended some restaurants for dinner, and I can back her referral to Pheidias Grill: Amazing service and food!
The room was very spacious, clean, and had everything I needed, including great wifi signal. Breakfast had a nice selection of food as well as freshly pressed orange juice.
I loved the furniture and the decor in the room and the overall hotel, which felt authentic and created a homey atmosphere. The book exchange/library on the ground floor is a splendid idea for people who are staying longer and crave some reading material.

Ideal accommodations when you're staying in Ancient Olympia!

This is a super clean property ran by friendly staff/owner. It is pet friendly (hard to find in Greece). All safety measures were in place (masks, hand sanitizers, etc). Its central location adds to its value.

A hotel with plenty of character.

I was really impressed by the character of this hotel. The owner and his spouse were very welcoming and made us feel at home from the get go. The breakfast was plentiful and great with a good selection of items. The room was big, very well maintained (as the rest of the property), and the bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfast/seating area was very interesting and comfy. It has books, table games, and a chimney that is the center of attention there. Do not hesitate in booking here as you will enjoy this place as much as I did.

We arrived with our Expedia printout in hand, having made a reservation months before. The hotelier said we had no reservation. When we produced the printout, he decided that he still didn't have a room for us, but he would get one in a neighboring hotel. Problem is, our guide book said every other place in town was poor. We don't speak Greek, and we were exhausted, so we had to accept the other hotel, Hotel Kronio. It was okay. The man could have at least apologized.

Great hotel

The hotel is well situated in Olympia, a 10-minute walk to the ruins and museum. The hotel owner is friendly and helpful, providing suggestions on local eateries, things to do, and the surrounding area. The breakfast is well worth the additional cost - hot coffee and tea, fresh squeezed juice, yogurt, bread, fruit, etc - all the things you would expect or want in a Greek breakfast.

Hotel is in a good location on the edge of town in away from the tourist madness. An easy 10 min walk to the museums and ancient site. Owners were very friendly and informative. Hotel was lovely “old school” Greek (in a good way). Breakfast was good and ample.

Charming Olympic Hotel

A clean basic hotel. Theo was an excellent host, providing good information and charming. He kindly posed for photos with the Olympic torches on the wall; 2 of which he carried in the relay. Delicious breakfast. Lovely lounge with wood burning fireplace. Adequate parking. Bring your basic toiletries, one bathroom was on the small side for a tall person. Excellent location. Walk to everything.

Pleasant stay in a town made for tourists

Close to everything I needed. Two blocks from the Ktel bus stop, 10 minutes walk from the archeological site and museum, and everything else convenient in this compact city catering to tourists. Hotel is spacious, attractive, pleasant and clean. Staff eager to make your stay pleasant.

We stayed here so we could visit Olympia. The hotel was on the edge of town so it was not on the main drag with traffic. It was quiet, close to the ruins and the breakfast buffet was free and delicious!

I would give this place 5 stars on everything! We enjoyed our stay the proprietors were awesome and even provided a small map of the town for us. They even had a little play area set up and were right across the road from great playground for our little ones. Perfect!

No hot water until after 4pm. Our room was cold, but the owner brought us our own heater. Very large bathroom, but the bath itself was quite narrow. Had an elevator to bring our suitcases up.

Reasonably Good Choice in Olympia

Good choice in Olympia. Clean and comfortable room. Olympia is small so hotel is close to everything. Nice hostess who provided great orientation. Might be noisy (room to room) during more peak season but ok when i was there. Only gripes were that my room did not have WIFI as advertised (though 2 floors down in lobby did) & while hostess Susanna was kind enough to send out my laundry for me, it came back mostly wet. Still, would likely stay there again & it served as base for seeing amazing Olympia site.

A HOME AWAY FROM HOME

Theodore and his lovely wife Susan were lovely hosts with a lovely property. The hotel is one street up from the main road to Olympia. Ted waited for us by the street because there is some city construction in the area. There is a small elevator in the hotel which was most convenient as well as automatic doors and ramps which help with heavy luggage. The lobby was very nice with an available internet area. The eating area was charming and breakfast was substantial. As this was Palm Sunday, the church is literally across the street. The room was very comfortable with french doors leading to a full balcony.Interestingly, the key to the room is wonderfully old-fashioned as the owners are very aware of who is in the hotel. They live there and are protective of their patrons. Ted gave us easy walking directions to local eateries and Olympia has many touristy shops, tavernas and of course bakeries.

Nice hotel within easy walk of ruins.

This hotel was very pleasant. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and quickly checked in. A map of the town marking the hotel and the ruins were given to us as well as a couple of restaurant recommendations. We were only there one night and opted to try La Belle Helene. It was an excellent recommendation. We had a larger bathroom and shower than typical in Greece as well as a larger room with a King bed. Will return if we stay in Olympia again.

Theo was very helpful in suggesting things to do and also a great host for a nightcap by the open fire.
Very comfortable stay and good base in town for visiting the sites.
We were only travelling through staying 1 night but it ticked all the boxes for us with warm room in winter and plenty of AC evident if staying in summer, clean room and good breakfast. We will definately be recommending Pelops to our friends.

Σε γενικές γραμμές έμεινα ευχαριστημένη. Το πρωινό θα μπορούσε με μην χρεώνεται εξτρα και επίσης θα ήταν σωστοτερο να υπάρχει ζεστό νερό όλες τις ώρες της ημέρας. Τέλος, καλό θα ήταν να υπάρχει χώρος στάθμευσης του ξενοδοχείου καθώς στις πληροφορίες αναγραφόταν ότι υπήρχε πάρκινγκ ενώ κάτι τέτοιο δεν ίσχυε. Η καθαριότητα και το δωμάτιο γενικα ήταν καλά.
