Nice functional hotel. Good sleep (bar being woken up at 2am by a loud man on corridor but that's not the hotels fault) Breakfast fine; nothing exceptional. Only negative really was that the water in shower was too hot. Spoke to reception twice (morning and evening) but to no avail. Water too hot & couldn't be changed second morning again. Gym & pool look lovely: I hadn't time.

Disappointing Stay – No Sleep & No Customer care
We stayed at Athlone Springs Hotel for two nights, and unfortunately, it was not a pleasant experience. Both nights were extremely noisy due to disruptive guests—some from hen parties and others being young kids running around and messing at 1 AM, waking us and other guests up.
What made it worse was the complete lack of security to manage the situation. I attempted to call reception multiple times, but either the in-room phone wasn't working or no one was answering. When I raised the issue with reception the next morning, I expected a manager to follow up, but we’ve heard nothing since.
For €200 per night, I would have expected a much better experience and at least some level of customer care. Sadly, I wouldn’t stay here again.

We had a short overnight stay with a 7am check out. I stayed in a suite which was lovely, fab bathroom with jacuzzi bath. Food was gorgeous but found it odd the bar wasnt seperate from dining. Other than that its a fab hotel.

When went went into our room, 102, the noise from the air extraction systems was very loud, we knew it would be worse during the night. I went to reception to complain, I was assured the units would be off by 9.30PM. The units didn't get turned off until shortly before 11PM. The receptionist did tell us to go back to her if there was an issue, but we settled down and went to sleep. The extraction fans came back on before six and woke us up. These rooms are not suitable for paying guests. Telling us we will be looked after on our next visit is nonsense. A pity every thing else was good, food, service staff etc just refuse to take the rooms adjacent to 102.

Firstly the staff are wonderful. Very friendly and helpful. The Hotel itself is quite tired; our room had a lot of marks on the wall and the furniture was chipped and damaged.
The food was lovely; dinner and breakfast. There are local amenities if you need a supermarket. Plus the pool and sauna was great (again the decor was in need of a refresh).
All in all it was a lovely stay but a four star hotel should not be this rough around the edges.

my athlone working staycation
booked a room that had th bath and shower seperate down on th list. but when i got there i only got th shower. Room was a small bit dusty but that didnt matter. No air con, the room could have done with it. Room 217. other than that . great hotel and food. thanks too all th friendly staff ,i enjoyed my stay. I will be back.

Good for current situation
With Covid restrictions there was not much interaction but check in was good and safe and the room clean and tidy. Internet speed was reasonable (3-4 Mbps) and there were enough plug sockets, some of which are next to the bed (little details that are actually important). Plenty of tea/coffee stuff and a fridge I didn't use but would be good for a longer stay.

A nice comfortable hotel about 7km outside Athlone town. Room fully equipped with tea and coffee making facilities and an iron. Breakfast good although I would have liked fried rather than scrambled eggs. Has a bath as well as shower facilities, Hotel features a number of business rooms and conference facilities Substantial carpark.

Hotel is being refurbished at moment. To be a 4star property it needs it so just little too noisy for lunch hour. Food & service was excellent.
Rooms do need up grading especially with no air conditioning made it very uncomfortable. The staff were as helpful as they could be with this.

Check-in was amazingly fast and efficient. We had a \"small\" issue with our evening meal in the bar as our ticket had been misplaced in the kitchen. The restaurant manager came to our table personally to apologize. And the order arrived quite quickly afterwards.

I don't know how this is a 4* hotel. It is an average 3*, at best. When we arrived at 14.50 we were told that check is 16.00. I pointed out that it said 15.00 on hotels.com but that made no difference. We went to the bar which is tiny. It is not adequate for a hotel and leads to guests moving to reception for a drink. And that means a very loud reception.
Now for the room. Firstly, the shelves were covered in dust. I could write my name in the dust. Secondly, there were hairs in the bath sink. That is not good enough. The floor has not received any cleaning as there were crumbs all over the floor. The lampshade was broken on the light and the light didn't work. Not ideal in a family room.
I could go on and I will happily speak to management and outline the other problems such as a tissue which resided on the stairs at 17.00 and was still there at breakfast. The lift not working. The doors.
How this is a 4* is baffling. A poorly run, poorly maintained and poorly located hotel.

Stop off to a long journey,a bit disappointed we were 2 minutes after 9 when we arrived and couldn't get any bar food.The lovely girl on the reception told us there was a take away around the corner so it worked out ok.

I was there for business, i'd apparently forgotten to book breakfast which is rare for me, so paid for breakfast for the day as i was in a rush and was going to sort it out when i got back, i'm glad i only did for one day cause there was not a lot on offer. So had some bacon and a sausage. The rest of the week i just went somewhere else.

Sadly on this visit to the hotel I was very disappointed, we arrived from Belfast for 2 nights on Friday evening expecting the same stay as previous ones .
Orla at reception greeted us,very pleasant lady ..we discussed quiet rooms etc for my athlete needing her sleep. and I paid up front as I had enjoyed my times previously and didn’t expect any difference this time ..
It went downhill from there ..
We went to have dinner.... to what was more like faulty towers .... the service was appalling and food was mediocre (we had a very different experience last time )
Young table staff were pleasant to us but the problem seemed to be in the kitchen , We are still waiting on our side order even though we reminded them a couple of times ,my daughter went without and said she’d order a dessert instead (which is more expensive) however even getting a brownie out from the kitchen seemed to prove difficult..we had finished our coffees before it eventually arrived with more reminding!!!
However of course the side order was on the bill which proved another problem as the young waitress wasn’t authorised to remove it without a manager who couldn’t be found (she was most apologetic and embarrassed but clearly wasn’t her fault ,we are still waiting on a manager too .. I gave her the money minus the price of side order and went to bed as it was too late and my daughter was competing the next day in Irish championships hoping tomorrow would be a better day. More problems at breakfast..

There was a massive rip in the carpet beside the bed, the room was extremely hot and stuffy and had no air conditioning, the rooms was badly sign posted and the double bed was two single beds pushed together which was extremely uncomfortable.

Staff from reception to cleaning staff all very friendly! Good excellent! Just lacked a bit on cleaning of our room e.g. Dust on wall lamps and shades and skirting boards and edges of carpet! Also some furniture could do with replacing as it's had lots of wear, but overall a very good hotel, would stay there again. Buffet breakfast is one of the best we've had! It was a poor room. Toilet difficult to flush since the buttons were stucked. Water in the sink was not flowing away and the room was noisy due some airco ditioners running next to the window.
