Water was leaking in the bathroom. I pointed it out the first morning I was there but nobody came to look at it. Had to bring it to the manager’s attention again that evening. They said they will fix it the next morning.
I also called for ironing my clothes. Nobody came so on my way out, I asked them to pick it up from my room. When I returned that evening, I noticed nobody had picked it up.
The hallway did not look like it was vacuumed. All in all, very disappointing. Expected much better from a Taj hotel

The reception staff went above and beyond, offering a warm welcome and efficiently addressing any inquiries. Their professionalism and friendliness set the tone for a delightful stay, making us feel valued as guests. The room service was exceptional, catering to our needs promptly and with a genuine willingness to make our stay memorable. The attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction were truly commendable. The gym staff demonstrated a high level of expertise, making our fitness routine enjoyable. Their friendly encouragement and personalized assistance added a personal touch to the fitness experience. The dining staff, especially in the kitchen and room service, were outstanding. They not only prepared delicious meals but also took the time to understand and cater to our daughter's preferences. Their effort to introduce her to Indian cuisine and ensure she relished every bite was a heartwarming gesture. Panipuris were the best amd memorable.
The entire hotel staff made us feel like an extended family, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. From the kitchen to the room service, everyone seemed genuinely invested in ensuring our comfort, making my family feel cherished and at home.

Checked in and checked out same day felt like I was at Motel6 in the states. Bathroom was run down and old and so was the room and the hallways seemed like nothing was ever updated. Save your self and stay at court yard Marriot which was a actual 5 star hotel

The location is good for my office but the property was undergoing renovation starting around 830 in the morning. This meant being woken up every day by drilling, hammering etc. I will find a new hotel and use a car service.

Everything was good, except the property needs some refurbishment. Plus covid appropriate protocols were not followed at the restaurant for breakfast. Almost all guests were not wearing a mask, and no one was following social distancing.It was as if covid never existed.Maybe they need to open another space to handle larger crowds for breakfast, lunch, dinner.

I booked executive room from expedia however when I arrived at the hotel their only executive room was stuffy, dark and with dirty couch.

They then put me in another room which was good however a level below. They didnt returned or adjusted the final fare as they argue I booked the room through expedia. Also their staff was less friendly when we asked for water and request to get internet once we checked out.

Great hospitality in a lovely place.

Overall nice hotel. What put this place over the top for me was service. I came back to the Gateway from my jobsite, suffering from what I believed to be good poisoning. I was able to see a hotel doctor and was taken care of very well by the staff. I would recommend this place to anyone.

One of the best in Vadodara

This is one of the best hotels to stay in Vadodara. Although it is a five star hotel, it felt like a four star (whatever that means). Great service and friendly staff. Recommended to anyone looking for a comfortable, convenient stay in the city. Will definitely book again. The staff is very helpful and humble. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Facility has restaurants and swimming pool. WiFi is okay, but acceptable. Location is great, very convenient. My stay was pleasant without any problems.

Staff was wonderful, very welcoming. It was nice that there are bathtubs but the water is not hot enough to use. Main hotel temperature could be cooler but rooms were fine. Would be nice if they had a 24 hour restaurant; they would get more international travelers. All in all though, a lovely stay.

Everything about this hotel is superb, from the wonderfully accommodating staff to the delicious food and the immaculately clean room. The menu is varied to please everyone, and in addition to Indian cuisine, includes healthy options, American and Asian dishes. 24/7 room service offers a diverse menu as well, with prompt service and surprise extras, like freshly baked cookies with our evening tea and cappuccino. The chef Ravi personally visited our table at every meal to be sure we were pleased, and to present us with samplings of his special dishes.

Housekeeping service was outstanding, with spotlessly cleaned rooms, fresh towels/linens and bottled water every day. The fitness room was also very clean and a peaceful, pleasant environment to work out in. Complimentary bottled water, fruit and fresh towels made it a pleasure to visit.

The Gateway Hotel is an amazing place to stay!!

We were in Vadodara for a family wedding, and unfortunately the original hotel where we were supposed to stay was not of high quality. We looked for an alternative, and thankfully we were able to find The Gateway Hotel. This hotel was vastly superior to the other hotel in every aspect, from the room size (we reserved a Junior Suite and requested a rollaway bed as there were three in our family), to the hospitality of the hotel team. We were greeted warmly, and made very comfortable throughout our stay. The chef who made our breakfasts requests, Ravi, was absolutely a gem.
The hotel also provided, at a small fee, a car to take us to and pick us up from the wedding venue.
I would recommend making two printouts of the hotels.com confirmation of payment, as there was a bit of confusion upon checkout. Maybe the hotel hadn't received payment of funds from the online transaction, but I had the confirmation page with me which helped me on that matter.
The hotel is undergoing renovations in the lobby, but it in no way affects the overall feeling of warmth and hospitality that we felt at the hotel. Also, the renovations needed aren't obvious, meaning, the hotel in no way feels \"dated\".
We are definitely planning to stay in this hotel again in the future. Even though we have a place to stay in nearby Anand, we are more likely to book this hotel for future stays.

Stayed at this hotel a few years before when it had the Taj brand, was good good. Now Taj have renamed this as the Gateway Hotel to represent good value business hotels and it certainly was. Communication Breakdown

(a) Due to communication breakdown between Hotel.com ( my service provider) and Gateway @ Akota ( Hotel.com's vendor), I the guest ( Hotel.com's customer) was (i) disturbed @ 2 am in the morning (ii) charged for one extra night in spite of my engineer calling and cancelling the room for one night and Gateway @ Akota accepting the cancellation request. This is grossly unfair to your customer. (b) Due to the Aristocratic behavior of Gateway @ Akota's staff and their poor communication skills, me and my customer wasted almost 3 hours and the evening plans went haywire.

Hotel was great for business trips but would probably not recommend for tourist stays as the location is not very close to very many attractions or the city center. The WiFi in the room is good late at night but does seem to vary in quality during the day time. The food at the hotel is great as was the service. I stayed in a Junior Suite which was quite comfortable. The noise level however on that floor (2nd floor) late at night was quite loud due to either the kitchen being directly below where you could hear them cleaning up for the night. All in all a pleasant stay otherwise. Staff were extremely courteous and helpful.

It's absolutely acceptable. The staff are very friendly, the food is really excellent.
