The staff were friendly and awesome. Location was pretty near to waterfront and airport (approx RM10 by grab).

Just one downside, there’s a Karaoke/pub at level 2 so some rooms got a free (off-key) lullabies from 10am to 2am but hey, I rather that than other noises. But it’s funny when this became a topic of conversations with other tourists staying at Citadine!

The staff were pleasant and efficient. However, the property needs serious renovating. For example:

1. The window didn’t lock properly and noisy traffic became an issue.
2. The bathroom door is rotting at the base.
3. The room was smelly.
4. The stained toilet seat needs replacing.
5. They fork out the cheapest toilet roll to be found on the market.

I've always stayed at Citadines Uplands when I'm in Kuching as I prefer a serviced apartment to a hotel. It's ok if you are not looking for luxury. Just make sure you are not given a room on the same floor as the pool .and overlooking it.

We had a lovely apartment with a great view of the city and mountains. The room was very spacious and in an acceptable condition. We were surprised that breakfast was served to the room, rather than in a restaurant. There didn't seem to be any options so we weren't able to eat the breakfast since it didn't align with our dietary requirements. One thing I didn't like was that someone rings your door at 7am until you open the door to receive your breakfast. This was a bit disruptive to our stay.

4 night stay in Kuching

Stayed for 4 nights as a family of 5 (with grand parents and a 10 month old baby) in a 2 bedroom apartment in Dec 2022. Location is about 10 mins drive from airport and 10 mins drive into town. It is located just opposite a mega mall, so we were able to get some groceries for our kid.

We actually found sachets of coffee, tea, milo, cereal and some candies left over from the previous guest in the cupboard. Otherwise, the room is clean enough, baby crib provided and only reason I stayed there was for the freezer to keep my milk.

Breakfast was served in a bento box and consists of fried noodles or rice and it was quite sad looking. Would recommend to get the room without breakfast, save the money and go to the mall opposite for something better. There's a nice quaint cafe on level 1 which you can get proper coffee and cakes too!

We checked in at about 4pm, and our room was not ready. Was stressful as my 10-month old was restless and my milk was thawing out while we sat in the lobby for 45mins. Lots of room for improvement.

The one-bedroom apartment is clean and cozy. Every morning at around 7.15am, someone will ring the doorbell repeatedly to deliver a packet of local breakfast. If you do not want to be disturbed, you have to place 'do not disturb' sign on the door before you go to bed. The Spring shopping mall is just across the street. There are eateries and 7-11 beside Citadines apart-hotel.

Generally good stay; mould & aircon need fixing

We booked for a two bedroom apartment and a one bedroom apartment.

The one bedroom apartment is kept in a better condition than the two bedroom apartment we had; the two bedroom apartment had visible mould around the kitchen sink and its bathrooms. The two bedroom apartment also suffered from an additional leaking to its air conditioning units, drenching the tiled floors. The skirting boards showed an obvious sign of repeated incidences. We had two incidents during our 10 day stay; resolutions via a call to the reception was quite quick (except for a reported incident at 1ish a.m, whereby a technician sorted it out in the morning during their work hours; one for noting).

May I suggest that further attention be paid to sorting out the mould and then a lick of paint.

Each apartment came with sufficient cutlery; a nice sized fridge/freezer that worked well; beds were comfortable. Swimming pool & gym were clean and functional.

One of the reviewers mentioned the filtered water stations, there were a couple of these located on each floor. Very useful for us.

Staff was friendly and approachable throughout our stay.

Location is brilliant - not far from both centre of town and the airport. By crossing a footbridge, it is easy to access The Springs Mall for a supermarket, clothing shops, pharmacy and even a Starbucks. Islands, a cafe located on ground floor, by the entrance to Citadines, serves a pretty decent cup of cappuccino (go there from 10am).

Disappointing return

Stayed at Citadines Kuching previously when recently opened - unfortunately time and poor maintenance has taken a big toll on the place. Dirty (mouldy) bathrooms and water damage from leaky air conditioners together with a general lack of maintenance was really disappointing. Staff are friendly and helpful, but it cannot make up for the poor state of the rooms and common areas. Needs a refurbished, due to poor cleaning and property management. Lots of small frustrations, which are a shame as was previously lovely - but now like the carpets, it’s a little threadbare:(

I requested for a city view room. But the staff informed me that the room was fully-booked. I dont think so bcoz on the day we check-in, there is no other cust eventhough it was a check-in period. The room also not reached my satisfaction. I'd been stay there more than 5 times. I always booked for a deluxe twin rooms. My question is, why the size of the room is different everytime i check in there. Only 1 time i got a big place. Others was a small one. Really disappointed. Hopefully they can classified the room properly. Wifi also not meet my satisfaction. Very poor connection.

The water before 8am is always cold,we took cold shower for 3 mornings. We have a extra bed in Master bedroom,it was place next to wardrobe which block the wardrobe door from opening.For 4 days wardrobe cannot be used,clothes are hang everywhere in Master room. Bad experience with 1 of the Counter staff. I finish my swim at level 3 with 4 years old nephew (half naked) but forget to bring Room card. So we took lift from level 3 to level 2 all wet to ask for key card to go to our room. My brother was at level 2 waiting for us to get room card. Counter staff refused to give us a card but can only scan room card for us to go to our room at level 7. I told him my bro still waiting for is at level 2 so we need to go level 2 to get him before proceed to level 7. Counter atafd said he cannot follow us or lend us roomcard aa askwd ua to go back to him. No CHOICE,me and my 4 years old nephew took lift feom level 3 to level 2 to get bro together to go up level 2 . Then for 2nd time I walked to counter to ask Staff to use roomcard to scan the lift. Staff is insensible to customers need and requet. We were so cold but had to approach Staff twice. BAD SERVICES.

Serviced apartments with a kitchen, but the kitchen had very few utensils or things to cook and eat with. For example there was only one bowl for cereal. There is an induction stove top for cooking but the wrong type of pots and pans which do not heat up properly on that kind of stove.

Good location, next to the spring. Check in was a breeze, I got in early at around 10am and a room was ready for me by noon. The room I had was a bit dated, peeling paint on the wall, but not a big issue. Overall ok and clean. Front desk staff are friendly and no issue accommodating to my requests.

Although it is located away from the main Kuching city, it is conveniently located opposite the Spring Shopping Mall and also not too distant away from the International Airport. The staff are so friendly and helpful and made our stay enjoyable.

The apartment when we checked in had a stale musty odor. This was later addressed when we called housekeeping who just sprayed some air freshener. However, the small cushions on the sofa had a horrible stink which was not addressed even after we gave the feedback. God knows when it was last washed or sun assuming that it has ever been done. And if so, what all the previous occupants were doing on it....
We stayed in a 2 room unit. Size wise as well as amenities within the apartment was very decent. Only thing with the whole property generally I guess, will be the upkeep and ensuring guests adhere to the guidelines particularly in the swimming pool.

Clean apart-hotel. Spring mall being right opposite is a big plus. The walls need a new coat of paint and the breakfast can be better. Other than that, most of the staff were very friendly. Good location close to the airport and easy enough to get to all the attractions. We could get a Grab driver within 5 minutes every time.

Everything is excellent except two things:
1. The room is not soundproof, i can hear the sound of motorbike racing outside in the middle of the night which makes it difficult to fall asleep. Similarly after an outing, wanting to take a short nap is also difficult because of the traffic sound outside. In the future, i’ll take note to get room that’s not facing the road.
2. The shampoo is quite diluted, i can finish one bottle in just one shower to fully clean my hair. Better bring own shampoo next time.

Other than those two, everything else was great. The room is very clean and neat. Comfortable mattress and pillows.

Value for the money. It’s just that the complimentary breakfast is disappointing as there are not many choices of food. And the basement car park is quite confusing but overall a good stay. But keep in mine, the lobby is on the second floor so don’t expect anyone to carry your luggages. Would recommend this place though. Cheers!

Large room size, nice equipped kitchen. I enjoyed my stay there.

However condition of the room is average - it's not too bad, but there are cracks on the wooden floor, etc due to use. I had a room that faces the swimming pool, and in the morning (especially weekends) it is like a circus and you can hear shouting and screaming from the room especially when you plan to sleep late. and as usual, the airconditioning is not that easy to control, and is almost always too cold. I might add that the airconditioner is standalone and not centralized.

The hotel has a mall (ST3 shopping mall) just below with cafes/bars and a convenience store enough for stocking up on snacks and drinks. It also has a connecting bridge to Spring Mall which is a very nice mall. With the right profile, it's a nice location. However we stayed with small children and elderly parents (need wheelchair access) so didn't manage to explore much of nearby stalls given our time, or use the connecting bridge due to the long and steep staircase down. We took grab service to and fro our hotel and Spring mall which is really no hassle and cost friendly. It'll be great to see more tenants in ST3 shopping mall so we can just hangout there more if we want to. The little steps to go up to swimming pool has too much slime and slippery, need to scrub the stairs to make it safer for users. The 3 pools were great just that jacuzzi water jet was not on when we were there. Overall its a nice hotel apartment to stay in and family-friendly!

I love the spaciousness of the studio apartment room and the hotel amenities. Except the jacuzzi wasn't working and such a pity. Will be nice if it is a hot tub. Like the gym too as spacious. Location is also good for shopping.

If Citadine claims this is an apart-hotel, it fails. There is no hand wash soap in the sink (both kitchen and washroom). Though the hotel does not permit smoking, the whole place smells of cigarette smoke.
