Great hotel on a beautiful beach situated close enough to Kawazu Town that you could walk. Surfers in sea along a wonderful view of the sea. My only disappointment was the first might we arrived the restaurants were booked or closed and the only option was “bar food” which was a delicious charcuterie board, we ordered two. Awesome staff that went above and beyond with service even though they were short staffed.

Conveniently located near train station. Our room has overlooked the beach. Spec and clean room, stuffed with daily necessities, slippers, robes, towels, toothpaste and toothbrush, shaving razor etc.
Hot breakfast buffet with array of food items, top it off with excellent service.

Clean rooms. Staff was extremely nice we had the beach/ocean view which was breath taking. Hospitality was a+ . The hot spring indoor was super hot and they had vending machines near by which had ice cream. Property was right near the beach and it was quiet, truly an amazing experience. There was two restaurants we ate at the Italian was pricey but was fantastic food.

The bar was only open 2 hours a day. Only two restaurants open, hard to get a reservation. The breakfast buffet was expensive, there was no alacarte alternative.
The pool area was very nice, well staffed, but you were not allowed to eat or drink there. Very limited tourism transportation, no cabs after 5pm. If you go here plan well ahead for tourism.

Overall beautiful property literally next to a nice beach. Comfortable rooms and beds, nicer than expected hot spring with rotemburo which you can hear the waves! Also, very nice breakfast buffet. Only downside is the pool which was freezing (colder than the ocean), opens late at 9am, closes for two hours from 5 -7pm and then charges JPY1,000 from 7 - 9pm for a few LED lights

We used the hotel for one night as a break between sightseeing Tokyo and Kyoto.

I have a food allergy (wheat allergy+gluten intolerance) and it was no problem to get a nice breakfast. (Staff informed during the checkin day before)

A list was handed out to me to compare with all provided foods during the brekfast.

The list was marked in green (ok to eat) and red (not ok to eat).

In addition to that i got assistance during the brekfast what is ok to choose from. Excellent.

Great Hotel, very friendly staff, superior service.

Free Transfer shuttle from Hotel to next station.

Wonderful location. Beach is very close. The pool size is absolutely ok.

There is a onsen but we didn't use it.

Room was wonderful. Beds also.

Nothing to complain.

This hotel was the best one we stayed in. Not only was the room huge but they had an onsen right in property. Another big thing for me was they let you do laundry for free with all the products for it too. It's also right on the beach and they offer free lockers and showers!

Originally the reason I booked Izu Imaihama Tokyo hotel because most hostels in kawazu refused foreigner’s booking. Luckily izu was unexpected good. Very good hospitality, beautiful view, spacious room, quiet environment. I will highly recommend people to book this hotel

I love everything about the hotel. My favourite is the view of the ocean from my balcony. The buffet breakfast was sumptuous with varieties. Even though there's a free shuttle bus to and from Kawazu Station, we couldn't use it on arrival because it stopped operating rather early. As we flew in from Asahikawa in Sapporo, by the time we reached Imaihama Kaigan Station, it was nearly 8pm. As there's no more taxis in service, we had to walk to the hotel with our luggage with limited lightings. Fortunately, the moon was bright that night. And there's no eateries and convenience stores nearby.

We love the Ocean view

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The property is older, but very clean and well maintained. Their staff including shuttle bus driver, all provide excellent customer service. The location is about 15 minute walk from Kawazu station, but be cautious with Google map! Google direction was inaccurate leading us towards the beach cliff! The hotel actually provides free shuttle to and from the train station, until 8:30pm. As for meals, hotel breakfast is very good, as well as their lunch & dinner on site (Japanese & French).

Fantastic hotel service, large rooms with facilities and in hotel dining options. Great place for kids and situated by the beach with a pool and a walking garden path.

Only downside is the area, lacking food options if you do not wish to dine in. However should not be judged based on that. Kawazu is just only 2 minutes away.

Staff is very attentive to guests. Shuttle bus is so convenient because there is nothing around the hotel. I wished the shuttle ran a little later. Breakfast was excellent - wide variety of food items. Rooms are clean. The staff even wipes down the chairs after each guest is done eating. Elevator buttons have an antibacterial sticker on each button.

Traveling with two small kids and one toddler we booked this hotel specifically to have a bit of a rest in our longer trip thru Japan so the little ones could play at the pool for a full day BUT POOL WAS CLOSED! So make sure to check about pool opening schedules since some resorts in Japan will not have the pool open everyday outside of summer. In fairness, the hotel communicated via email after we served that the pool was gonna be only open on Saturday and Sunday, but it was in Japanese so we translated immediately at the time.

Our reservation included breakfast which was nice.

Speaking of restaurants, there appear to be three restaurants in the property, a Japanese, a steakhouse, and a French. It was a bit disappointing that the only one open was the French since we were in Japan and we want to experience Japanese cuisine, of course.

We got to spend a day at the beach, which was nice since the waves were very calm and the kids could play in the water.

Overall, the hotel has great service and the property it’s outstanding. It’s just the fact that we couldn’t achieve what we were planning to do by booking this hotel what made the stay a bit challenging.

We had a wonderful time at Izu Imaihama Tokyu Hotel! The room was spacious and had an AMAZING view of the ocean. The staff were very kind and helpful and we had a great time using their pool, separated male and female onsens, and the beautiful beach that is right next to the hotel. It is located near a small town, Kawazu, where you can find a 7/11, ValuMax, and great restaurants with a short shuttle bus provided by the hotel, a short train ride, or a 15-20 min walk. One thing to note is that it is somewhat remote so trains can be about 20 mins between each one and it was quite dark after sunset. Otherwise we had a fantastic time and very much recommend it!!

The HVAC in our room did not function. We were in a family room with 3 kids. I was told by the front desk that it was “an old building” and the HVAC control didn’t actually do anything as it was central… it was blowing warm air instead of the needed AC cold air. I was not offered anything for the problem.

The shower head is not adjustable so only very very tall guests can enjoy a satisfactory shower. I am 5 feet tall. The hotel shuttle bus service is good but can be excellent if one/two more ride/s can be added between 5pm and 7pm from the train station to the hotel.

The view from our room was absolutely amazing. We strolled along the water along the beach. The breakfast was delicious and there was quite a large selection of food. The staff was very courteous. We did have a bit of difficultly speaking with the receptionist on arrival because of his limited English and we didn't speak Japanese. He was very nice though but it would have been better if there was someone who could speak English a bit better.

Beautiful hotel right on beach. We went in the fall and the weather was beautiful and it wasn’t busy. Although the pool was closed, we still enjoyed walking on the beach and seeing all the sites in the area (beautiful waterfalls, sea caves, and shrines). Great in summer for beach/pool and in the fall for better pricing and crowds. Hotel onsen was great and staff was very friendly. The rooms are clean and spacious with most offering beach views. There is also a kids play room on the second floor that my kids (age 3 & 6) enjoyed. Would stay here again!

I stayed here for two nights after visiting Mt. Fuji, the room is clean and comfortable, the canopy is with 180 degree of sea view, how wonderful!

The location was amazing, but services lacked human effort. I had already mentioned in the requests while booking that I'll be in my last trimester of pregnancy, despite:
1. As we entered room, the beds were separated, and when requested if they can be joined, the person asked us for an extra fees of 5250¥ for shifting the beds. 😑
2. ACS were not working, we had to order a table fan in the end.
3. Swimming pool was not working.
4. No vegan choices of food, despite it was told to be the authorities repeatedly for 3 months that I cannot have meat, fish or egg. We were ready to pay extra as well.
And the list is long.

The whole stay was incredible. The staff is helpful and friendly, the room was clean and comfortable. We left the window open all night long and enjoyed the sound of the waves coming in all night long.
A nice walk on the beach before or after breakfast and your stay is complete.
Breakfast was also amazing. They have western and Japanese dishes with an omelet station with the kindest chef you'll ever meet. The gift shop has local souvenirs so you don't need to go out once you check in.
We've had dinner here during a previous stay (Ise Ebi course) and it was one of the best in recent memory.

Perfect hotel for a luxurious seaside break

Hotel room had amazing views of the sea and was surprisingly spacious. The hotel also had direct access to the black-sand beach and a nice pool. Restaurants were expensive but food was good. The hotel is easy to get to by train (5 min walk from station). There wasn't much in the immediate local area but shops and supermarkets were a 15 min walk heading south along the coast. With a car (hotel has free parking) the hotel serves as a good base to explore further afield around the Izu peninsula. Definitely recommend this hotel for a luxurious seaside break or weekend getaway from Tokyo.

Perfect for relaxing getaway.

The hotel is pretty easy to get to from the train stations - either walking from the local station or by shuttle bus. The location is far away from any convenience stores or restaurants - so you have to eat at the hotel or go on a journey, but I think it adds to the ambience. It’s right on the beach with a balcony and ocean view, and the rooms were very comfortable. The food at the restaurants was all pretty good too. For an exciting vacation maybe not the best place, but if you just want to relax by the water (which we did) it’s the perfect place! We will definitely be coming back - most relaxing weekend I’ve had!

Hawaiin themed resort

This is a great \"get-away\" resort style hotel as it has many things to offer without leaving the hotel property. There are many places to sit and enjoy the scenery (beach and gardens), a small library, nice hot spring and massage services. It has a Hawaiin theme which also adds to the holiday ambience.
The rooms themselves all overlook the ocean and are very comfortable.
Locally, there is not much to do except a few nice walks so you would need a car to do any tourist activities further away.

Von unserem Zimmer sah man direkt aufs Meer und man konnte mit Meeresrauschen einschlafen. Unsere kleine Suite war sehr komfortabel und absolut ruhig. Man hat von den Nachbarn und von draußen nichts gehört. Toll war auch der Onsen. Die Mitarbeiter.innen waren sehr freundlich. Ich würde jederzeit wieder dort übernachten. Rita
