We love this hotel. We got married here 13 years ago and decided to bring our daughter to show her our favourite all-inclusive resort. The rooms were clean and everything is well-maintained. The buffets were good but the a la cartes were only okay and the service wasn’t over-the-top. It wasn’t overcrowded and there were always beach chairs available. Lifeguards were plentiful!

Très beau séjour ! L'hôtel est très vaste, parfait pour une petite marche pour digérer ! Par contre comme l'hôtel est fait sur le long, la mer est tout le temps très près des restos et piscines ! Très belle grande plage pour marcher. Malheureusement la mer était agitée les premiers jours avec drapeau rouge, forts courants...Interdiction formelle alors de s'y baigner, très décevant mais c'est pour notre sécurité...Excellente nourriture autant au buffet quauxrestos à la carte !

We spent three nights here. It was a long traffic filled drive from Panama City. As a Wyndham Rewards member I was able to pre-register everything including our car from the email link they sent us ahead of time. We arrived at 2:15 and were instructed that registration would not open until 3 pm. No where to even park our car until then. There was no Wyndham Rewards reservation desk. We were told to wait in the very long line with the rest of the \"mob\" trying to register. They did not care that I pre-registered with their email link. After all of that frustration we were told at 4 pm that our room wasn't ready. Unbelievable. The bars all the time had long lines to get a drink. With the incredible number of people at the resort one bar service person could not handle the demand. Understandably, especially since the blender drinks were custom made. There were so many people at the resort that there was never an empty chair near any of the pools or even at the beach after 9 am in the morning. NEVER. Towels held every single chair by 9 am. Between the multitude of children in the pools and the incredible number of adults just wading, it literally was impossible to swim in any of the pools. They were nothing but \"packed\" wading pools. The smaller pool with a bar in the area of our room which was explained at check in to be a distinct benefit, was closed the entire time due to so called \"chemical treatment\". A fake reason not to keep it open.

No es posible que un Decameron tengan ese nivel de servicio al cliente inexistente, no hay el más mínimo nivel de atención desde que llegas el front desk son los más groseros, no hay botones , no hay toallas en las habitaciones, nadie te lleva a la habitación, no hay un bussines center para los huéspedes. La comida es buena y la playa, pero en general los empleados son bravos de mal genio, eso habla de una nula dirección, nunca volvería a ese sitio.

The service was terrible upon arrival you have to wait like in a prison no one knows where the main lobby is, the first day as soon as I arrived the room was dirty after waiting 3 hours for it there were no towels or iron and the safe did not lock, the employees enter and leave the rooms without permission, they take the iron without questions, when they really clean they only make the beds they do not change sheets and towels you have to ask for them every day and they bring them one at a time even if you have reserved for a family of 4, things are lost from the notes and there is no one to complain to, it took more than two days to make a report of a clock that disappeared from my note and there was not a single person to make the complaint to, they made me fill out a complaint but they did nothing, they tell you that it is done online but in reality the complaint does not work nobody responds, when you reserve in the restaurants for dinner they treat you and you have worse food than at the buffet, very stressful for a resort it feels like an unsafe and dirty motel, the water park that is supposed to be children's entertainment is always closed They open it for 5 minutes a day and create many inconveniences for use, it is definitely not a family space, drunks harass teenagers and there is no security or anyone to complain to, I stayed four days because once there you have no other options, especially if you are from another country like Europe or the United States

We had a nice family stay and enjoyed the various pools and beach. The food was decent and the service was good. You need to book early if you want one of the restaurants (same day only), This was a nice way of changing up the dining format.
The whole resort was very well maintained and in a beautiful spot. We also spent a nice morning at the quiet and deserted Playa Santa Clara which was a short drive away.

I liked the property mainly the pools and simplicity to do everything. I did not like the lack of maintenance into the rooms and poor options in snacks restaurantes. Also not good at all the need to wake up at 6 am to book a restaurante. At the end the money paid vs the value received was not good at all.

Good resort for Kids

This is a very big resort and very popular (with a lot of people on the weekends) which made the check-in process somewhat difficult. Once we checked in, the rooms and the facilities were clean and comfortable. Definitely recommend opting for the Plus level if you don't like big crowds. The plus pool and restaurant are a lot less hectic that the general side. Food was good and the services was good as well.

We spent 12 days there and everyday was an amzing experience. The only negative for us was our dinner at The Cowboy restaurant, the steak was poor quality, no seasoning and way under cooked. The food everywhere else was excellent. Looking forward to our return trip.

Your staff is horrible. Horrible wait to check in and now having to talk with orbitz to get refund because I was charged twice for my room. Check in took over 30 minutes, had to pay twice because they said my orbitz charge was pending just like every other credit card charge is pending when you pay something. Told me my orbitz charge would be canceled (it was not). Now charged twice and staff told me nothing they can do about that. Absolutely horrible service but that is par for the course in Panama as everybody from their airlines to resort have no sort of sense when it comes to customer service. Love Panama, hate the service so thanks for showing me even a resort like this that has the potential to be 5 stars can still find a way to mess that up. Absolutely 1 star

Todo fue espectacular, pero el check in fue una total basura, como siempre. Hablan de reglas que no comunican en ningun lado de sus páginas y tratan al cliente como si fuéramos ignorantes.
En el bar el bartender trato a las personas de una forma despectiva solo porque no le piden las cosas como a ellos le enseñaron. Deben tener empatía con clientes y considerar que NO todos saben lo que van a pedir y preguntan para saber si prueban algo nuevo. Empatía es la palabra

The place not kept up.But for as old as it was it was fine. 1 of our group got sick after a meal after being there for 3 days, vomiting all day and eve. Staff was rude, managment was rude. They have this con you out of money thing going on. They offered us to join a multivacation affiliate program. They wanted 45k up front and 500 a month for 5 years. When we said no they dropped the price to like 10k and 115 a month for 5 years.Scam alert! Super pushy. They offer 2 dicounted nights at one of there resorts. The discount comes out to about 15usd. Lost 2 hours of beach time for that crap. I wont be back. Its not worth the money and the food was ok. Drinks were ok. I would not advise you to try this place.

It’s cheap resort.
The worse check in ever, lot of people complaining, have to wait for almost 2h to get my room, nobody help in you, just horrible !
Internet was terrible! Couldn’t get WiFi most of the time. Food was cheap, reservation for dinner at any restaurant was limited, have to wake up at 7am to make it, ridiculous!
Gym is super small and poor A/C
No A/C at the restaurants, lobby, hot everywhere
If you want to safe money, do it, but I wouldn’t come back, I won’t recommend it
Prefer pay little bit more and get something decent

I had not been to Decameron since 2016 - the property still looks the same a bit aged. The service and quality of food went down a lot. We have many memories of this place when we used to come every year with our kids. It’s dear to my heart but not sure I would recommend it for a first timer in Rio Hato Panama

Based on our experience today, we'd give it a 9. We don’t give it a 10 because there's a long wait to check in, which is really annoying. We had to wait in line for an hour and a half. The resort should hire more check-in staff. But once we got our keys, everything was great. We'll definitely be back.

We love this beach resort! You always find a place to sit on the beach no matter what time of day. You can walk more than a km in each direction without issue. You feel safe while anywhere on the resort.

The grounds, pool and beach were lovely. We’ve stayed here numerous times over the past 10 years but the resort is not as well run as previous visits. Rooms are dated and worn - no repairs or renovations to the rooms in at least 10 years. Track for patio doors rusted out and extremely difficult to open. The 4 staff standing at each entrance to the buffet restaurant (doing nothing) do not enforce the rule of guests required to wear clothing and shoes in the restaurant. Bathing suits with no decent coverups and bare feet noted frequently. Buffet food was packed up 45 minutes before breakfast was over and a few times many food items ran out. Many staff were not very friendly and we felt a bit like they thought we were an inconvenience. However other staff were wonderful and friendly.

Overall a good resort, we enjoyed our stay and had lots of fun. One of the top resorts I’ve been to, and I have been to many.

Pros:
- Food was great, even at the buffets. Zero complaints when it comes to variety and taste.
- The beach was beautiful. The beach front lined the whole resort.
- We were in the All Inclusive Plus section and the room was very spacious and nice with a wonderful view of the ocean.
- The resort was well maintained and clean.

Cons:
- Only 1 swim up bar and it is All Inclusive Plus ONLY. If you’re in regular all inclusive you will not have access to a swim up bar and you are not aloud to bring drinks in the other pools unless it’s a tumbler with a lid.
- Hard to find a pool chair and/or chair at the beach, even in the All Inclusive Plus section. Everything was always occupied, especially the limited amount of shade covered seating.

Other things to note are, there is very limited English speaking staff (Spanish) AND guests (Spanish and French mostly). This was ok for us, we seemed to find our way and communicate fine with some use of google translate lol. Lots of stairs and walking (big resort), this again was fine for us as well as the exercise was appreciated.

We liked the beach. Nothing in the mini fridge even though their brochure states it is restocked daily with beer, soda and water. No help with luggage at check in. Lots and lots of steps ...no elevators. Staff booking tours were horrible to work with. We did not get a receipt so accidentally boarded the wrong tour bus and had to pay double. The Decameron tour people refused to refund our payment even though we didnt use their tour group.

This is a beautiful location. Clean beaches and pools. Very pleasant and enjoyable during low season of July. The food is ok. Where to eat is sometimes confusing. Getting a reservation in the restaurants at night was nearly impossible. They really need to have a different system instead of getting up at 6 am on my vacation to make a reservation. There are rule boards but not for everything that is expected of a guest. However the staff was very kind when explaining rules we broke. The rooms need to be renovated. The hill can be difficult to climb for some.

Extremely disappointed. The \"all\" inclusive was very limited. Some pools were closed all together and the others we \"closed for maintenance\" on random schedules so you never really knew where you could swim unless you just followed all the people. Then those pools and bars would be overly crowded. Samr with the one restaurants. Only one buffet offered a frenzied meal time. The other dining options required reservations the day before. Be sure to set you're alarm to wake up early to get a table for dinner. They say you can call at 7am but still by 8 no one would answer. The \"entertainment\" was kareoke. The power went out which at least shut down the loud party music at 1am. From arrival to departure i never felt welcome or safe. It definitely is not US resident friendly. Complete waste of money.

Fantastic stay, good food and atmosphere but terrible wifi, no body help with our luggage, they did not give as a package regarding access to what we had. The staff at the front just give us a key and told as the room #. No elevators and we had to drag our suitcases 3 - 6 stairs down and then up to the top floor of the building. This in temperatures of 36 C +. Bad customer service at the front desk. But excellent customer service at the bar and restaurants!

Service at the buffets was terrible taking up to 30 minutes to get water which you could only get from the servers.
We had food poisoning at one of the specialty restaurants.
We were in a room across from the “movies on the beach” and the speakers blared until 12-1am every night.
