This resort is nestled in a lush and fertile jungle setting. Conveniently located off the 307 between Chetumal and Tulum, this tropical and inspired facility is an undiscovered gem and is an absolute paradise beckoning anyone looking for a peaceful and laid back visit with the gorgeous lagoon views, the Mexican sunrise, and a truly restorative vacation. The proprietor, Roberto, and his wife are gracious and welcoming hosts eager to share their slice of heaven with their guests. Roberto was a true host in every sense of the word. He was quick to accommodate our last minute reservation and extended more kindness and consideration than I’ve ever encountered from any staff during all of my travels. Our meal was cooked to order by a local chef and the quality was astounding. The property itself is uniquely designed with villas that blend perfectly into the setting and contribute to the overall beauty. Every part of the facility is well cared for and spotlessly clean. There are covered decks with loungers which extend over the lagoon and allow for spectacular views. I highly recommend trying this place. You won’t regret it.

Really I place to unwind and relax in solitude. The location was a bit unique and isolated so if you want to be near town this is not the best location. Now if you are looking for a real getaway then this is the place no crowds and pleanty of beach!

This place was fantastic, absolutely everything. The lake, staff , food, was perfect. Would highly recommend, bit of a long drive from Playa Carmen but definitely worth it. The water at the lake is truly magnificent. Clearest water ive ever seen. Mosquitoes are a bit of a nuisance,bring OFF!. Our cabana was right in front of the lake, amazing morning sunrises. If you have extra days, do come down here, you won’t regret it.! You’ll love it.!

This property is self sustaining so no generator, no power. Be aware.
No outlets either :). There is no \"beach\" per se, you have to use the pier and a ladder... but its super quiet and private. Get an SUV to drive there... :) the water is super clean on a good day, wind makes I a bit muddy. the little huts are cute, no air condition, just vents.

We only stayed one windy day/night. Did not use the restaurant for any meals as we wanted to explore Bacalar. The drive into the resort was lovely as there are pineapple groves and other crops. It out a ways not sure about transportation if you do not have a car. I was concerned about the groups from cruise ship but there was plenty of room for us to swim and lounge along the lake.

Bacalar Lagoon Resort is centrally located to visit Bacalar, Mayan sites, and beach at Mahahual by car. It is perfect for relaxation away from crowded tourist spots. Swimming on the beautiful freshwater lagoon and use of kayaks any time are great features of the place.It is great for birdwatching in early morning and at dusk. Restaurant is open to guests all of the time. Only deterrent is that you need a car to stay here as it is 8 km on gravel road from main highway.

It’s a wonderful hotel almost in the middle of nowhere. All of the staff was very attentive and very kind. They even waited for us in the kitchen so that we could get dinner the day we arrived (it was kind of late).

I haven’t seen more stars at night in my life! And the lagoon is very beautiful and quiet. My girlfriend and I loved that we could take a kayak boat to row along the lagoon. We want to go back soon

The place is pretty clean and very nice view. Food is good but expensive. A lot of mosquitos and in general my stay wouldve been better if the owner was not so rude and felt my kids were welcomed. She had a lot of rules I will not recommend it to people that are trying to enjoy your vacations.

The place is beautiful. It had rained a lot the night before we got there and it was hard to get through the 3.5 km of dirt road so once we got to the place we did not want to leave to visit the ruins or do other activities. The cabañas are as described except that the ones closer to the lagoon do not have A/C. We talked to the front desk about this but they said there was nothing they could do. This was a major issue for us. As soon as the sun came down the place was full of mosquitoes so we could not be outside (even with bug spray) and inside the cabin was extremely hot. We did not sleep at all. We had booked (and prepaid) for 2 nights and left immediately after the first night to find other accommodations.

PARADISE UNIQUE PLACE LOVE IT!!!

I was really happy at the resort because it felt private and you were disconnected from everything because it was in the middle of nothing.The food and service were great too. I will definitely come back!!! If you drive your car will be better you can go to Bacalar take boat tour, visit Chacchoben ruins, and we recommend to arrive Chetumal airport because Cancún is really far.

Excellent location but stay was ruined...

We were looking for a place right on the water, far-far from the city and any industrial noise, that is blended with the nature, and comfortable for relaxing and peaceful vacation. Place is really beautiful - it's even more impressive then on a picture, but stay was ruined with construction work (you hear hammering entire day) and organized groups of tourists that arrive midday making lots of noise and disturbing peace. Furthermore food was mediocre and staff would get your order incorrectly or forget something that you ordered even when you are only one in the restaurant. Rooms were clean and nice but be aware that there is no AC in every room and also that its disabled in those that have till think June.

We stayed for two nights and loved every minute at Bacalar Lagoon Resort. The staff were great. They sent us an email with directions before our arrival which was lovely. It was very relaxing and we felt like we were in our own wee world. It has its own lagoon and includes the use of the kayaks. Bacalar township is a 30min drive so a car is a must. Would love to stay again.

Very quiet, this place is beautiful and you can definitely relax in this place it is more of a place to get away from all the noise and service. They do have wifi but it really didn't work in our room only outside by the lagoon or restaurant. No TV which is good and bad because since it is very lonely you really runout of options to do. I would recommend at least getting a better internet service. Other than that it was so beautiful and staff was so friendly and felt safe. It looks like they are building more houses which is good because it only has a few huts. Food is okay not the best but I would recommend going out to eat early too because to get to the resort you have to go through the forest literally and you might get lost since its pitch black.

Another day in paradise. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff are very friendly. You just can not beat the view of the lagoon. It was nice to have fresh water to swim in and get away from the smell of the ocean as the sargassum problem is getting very bad on the coast

The resort was absolutely breathtaking. The water is super clear and swimming with the fish was super cool. The room was cute as well and we had a great location.

Would love to return one day.

The location was cool but yes it does take long to get there since it’s a dirt road but it was fun! That’s part of the adventure.

They have good food as well :)

Very nice place to stay with family ! No party goers here. Which is what we were looking for. It's located on the top north end of the lagoon and that part of the lagoon is quiet. They had kayaks for use no charge and beautiful sunrises , birds singing all day and an overall awesome stay! Would definitely return !

Nice location on lagoon Bacalar.

The accommodation was nice and the cabanas where well spaced. The site is well maintained, quite, with free canoes available. The lake side views are very nice. Food is available for dinner and breakfast. Drinks can be purchased during the day. On our visit (one night) the wifi was was not working and there was a water outage first thing in the morning. The approach road is in poor condition, but OK if driven slowly.

Es la segunda vez que me hospedo aquí, esta un poco retirado del centro de Bacalar, pero tener la laguna saliendo de tu habitación no tiene precio, además tienen juegos para niños pequeños, kayaks, camastros, palapas, mesas, todo en buen estado y disponible para usarlo. Si buscas estar alejado de la muchedumbre es un buen lugar.

Esta muy alejado el lugar de bacalar, y si estan bien las instalaciones pero no me gusto nada que por la temporada no te dejan usar el AC, y al ser procedente de un lugar frio, no es nada comodo lograr dormir bien.

Nous sommes restés qu une seule nuit dans l’hotel. Chambre avec vue sur le parking alors que l hotel est totalement vide. Aucun service. Pas de restaurant, uniquun self avec un olat unique (pas bon du tout), pas d’animation, le personnel ne parle pas abglais. Nous sommes restés uniquement une nuit au lieu de trous. Aucun geste geste, pas possible d’annuler le jour de notre arrivée. Je coys sollicite donc afin d avoir un remboursement des deux nuits. Publicité mensongere. Première déconvenue avec expedia zn 10 abs.

The lagoon is just beautiful and the place is so quiet. The rooms are ok, but there were no electricity and the AC didn't work. It is not so confortable to sleep without it.
The people is very nice and they do they do a great effort to please the customers.
they have kayaks but one was broken and my sons had a difficult time to return to shore.... I suggest they should review the equipment they have

El lugar está a 40 min del pueblo de Bacalar son cerca de unos 10 a 15 min en un camino donde no hay nada. Es un lugar con 8 villlas con cama matrimonial y otra habitación con una litera donde caben 3 personas. El lugar se abastece de electricidad por plantas eléctricas por la noche. Hay ventiladores, no hay televisión si hay wifi. Un par de veces a la semana llegan a las instalaciones de excursion extranjeros pero va una pareja que hace masajes (excelentes). El personal es de lo más amable. El chef nos ofreció ir al hotel a las 5 am a prepararnos un desayuno porque íbamos de excursión a Calakmul. Tienen kayaks, inflables al servicio de los huéspedes sin costo alguno. Quedamos encantado y al estar retirado las estrellas se veían espectaculares. Súper recomendado pero tienen que ir consientes que no es en medio del bullicio del pueblo. La
Vista insuperable.

la paz y tranquilidad con que puedes estar en el resort es increíble, el personal de bar y cocina son súper atentos y serviciales, Ángel el chef y Amir el recepcionista son por mucho un gran activo de este lugar.
La Laguna está increíble, el servicio de Kayaks súper bien aunque los chalecos ya un poco descuidados.
El +único contra que tuve, es que en la noche el A/C del cuarto lo apagan a las 2 am, así que a partir de esa hora complicado dormir bien, considero que deberían ampliar el horario al menos hasta las 4 am. Lo positivo de esto, fue que nos salimos a la laguna y pudimos ver un amanecer increíble.

El hotel no está en Bacalar. está a 40 kms. mas lejos. No hay aire acondicionado mas que de 21:00 a 2:00 horas todas las noches. hay dos ventiladores. uno de piso y otro de techo. el de piso no hay como conectarlo puesto que solo hay dos contactos en toda la habitación incluido el baño

Es una joya de lugar. Un paraíso. Recomiendo que renten carro si planean moverse a Bacalar el pueblo. Está un poco retirado pero Vale la pena la distancia para llegar. El personal es de lo más atento y amable. De los mejores viajes de mi vida. ¡Yo pienso volver muchas veces más!

Es hotel es excelente, estas fuera de la civilización y te conectas con la naturaleza. Tiene todos los servicios, no es necesario salir a ningun lado. La comida es Excelente!!!!
Esta retirado del centro de Bacalar, Si quieres tranquilidad y descansar, vale mucho la pena, si quieres salir y conocer el centro de Bacalar hay que trasladarse en auto aprox. 40 minutos

fast neues (manche Teile noch im Bau) befindliche Anlage direkt an der Lagune. Das Wasser der Lagune super klar aber sehr steinig. Die Bungalows sauber aber sehr basic. (es gibt weder Kasten noch Kommode nur Kleiderständer mit ein paar Kleiderbügel auch TV ist nicht im Zimmer.) Man kann sich kostenlos Kajak (inkl. Schwimmweste) ausborgen. Die Speisen gut.
Alles in allem schönes Resort für 2 bis 3 Tage - den Preis/Nacht finde ich aber überteuert. Dennoch würde ich es wieder buchen.

El lugar perfecto para descansar y desconectarse

Estuvimos mi familia y yo en este maravilloso lugar, debido a que es un Resort ubicado en medio de los mangles alejado de todos los hoteles y el bullicio, es la parte más virgen de la laguna, para apreciar la mayor biodiversidad de la zona y a solo 30 minutos de mahahual y 25 minutos de Bacalar, en auto. Roberto y Greta son unos excelentes anfitriones que te harán sentir como en como en casa, viajamos con nuestra hijita de dos años y tienen una excelente área de juegos nueva y muy bonita. Tienen kayaks nuevos y muchos chalecos salvavidas para todas las edades, que puedes usar gratis, experiencia que la recomiendo al 100% hacerla si están en el Hotel. El chef es una maravilla, cocina muy rico y le preparo comida especial a mi hija de dos años, todos son muy amables. El Hotel es muy limpio y cómodo. Las noches ahí son preciosas, acostarte en los camastros y ver las estrellas, es maravilloso. Ampliamente recomendable para todas las edades y para las personas amantes de la naturaleza. Excelente lugar para ir a relajarse, la vista es espectacular, su mobiliario es bueno y otro punto a su favor es que prestan los kayacs, sin embargo, a mi consideración la carta del restaurante es muy limitada creo que se podrida mejorar.
Otro punto es la distancia entre Bacalar y Hotel que es de aproximadamente 35 kg un recorrido de 30 min en auto, sin auto veo muy difícil ir y regresar si en sus planes esta ir a conocer el centro de Bacalar

Non lo consiglierei a nessuno

Siamo arrivati di sera . Non c’è un’indicazione del albergo . La mattina quando siamo venuti via abbiamo visto solo una bandiera . L’indicazione sulla mappa è sbagliata . Per fortuna prima di arrivare abbiamo trovato un benzinaio che ci ha portato all’ingresso. Non ha preso l’amex . In camera c’è pochissima luce e sono una bagiur .non c’è un attaccapanni, ne una sedia , ne dove appoggiare la valigia . Solo il letto e due comodini con un armadio micro . In bagno solo uno shampoo con due saponette in 4 niente Phon per i capelli nemmeno dutichiedta . Il bagno è in mezzo alle due camere . Per stare sui lettini davanti al lago nemmeno gli asciugamani . Non si può considerare affatto un Resort.

El lugar es muy lindo y tiene una energía mágica, regresaría sin duda alguna, los dueños y el personal del hotel muy amables. Perfecto para desconectarte del mundo. Lo practico es llevar auto pues está lejos de todo. Me parece que tiene puntos de mejora poner más palapas para el sol, los vasos de vidrio por ser ecológico no dar pajillas y eliminar o disminuir la cumbia del restaurante durante las cenas. Lo pasamos divino muchas gracias!

On profite à fond de l'isolement.
Pour des raisons de santé nous avons dû abréger notre séjour ;à aucun moment il n'a été question d'un dédommagement même partiel...

El hotel es muy bonito y muy limpio, está a la orilla de la laguna, es precioso el color del agua y puedes nadar y hacer kayak. No hay más nada ni nadie en kilómetros a la redonda de la instalaciones, por lo que esa parte de la laguna es exclusivo de las 12 Cabañas con las que cuenta el resort, es perfecto si eres de los que te gusta la paz y la tranquilidad, pero muy aburrido si no es así ya que ni televisión tienen las cabañas, en lo personal yo si hubiera preferido con TV, además si los demás huéspedes se van a Bacalar a pasear, prácticamente estás solo en el hotel.
Es completamente necesario venir en carro porque si quieres ir al pueblo de Bacalar está toda vía como a 30 minutos de distancia, además de que para llegar al hotel debes atravesar un brecha de más de 15 minutos y en la noche sientes que no la terminas porque de no ser por las luces del carro, es como una boca de lobo.
Los chavos que atienden son muy atentos y súper ambles, la comida y snacks son ricos, pero recomiendo que pasen a comprar una hielerita con agua, cervezas o refrescos y algo de botana es más barato.
Por dentro las cabañas no cuentan con lujos, son muy básicas pero limpias con un par de sillones, mesita, la cama, una litera según lo que contrates, y si tienen aire acondicionado, no televisión y un cuarto de ducha amplio y limpio

Todo es perfecto! Estás un poco aislado así que no hay hoteles vecinos que estén molestando , aparte la vista a la Laguna es de lo más hermoso y romántico , solo que tienen que ir preparados para gastar mucho en transporte

Location bellissima, il servizio da rivedere

Ho trascorso una notte in questo hotel situato a 5 km dalla strada principale percorrendo una strada molto dissestata. Il Resort è bello e gode di una vista unica. È però totalmente isolato e questo obbliga le persone a usare il ristorante dell’hotel che però apre pochissime ore al giorno. Nelle ore di chiusura non è disponibile servizio bar. Quindi bisogna arrivare ben riforniti di acqua. Aria condizionata attiva solo di notte e rumorosissima. Sconsiglio le cabanas a due camere in quanto la de o da camera non è condizionata e i letti a castello non sono quindi vivibili quando l’umidità è molta. Peccato per questi limiti perché la location è stupenda!
