This is the second time we’ve stayed at The Colonial for a function we’ve attended in Bairnsdale. Family rooms are spacious and very well equipped. Lots of little extras which are lovely. Rooms are quiet, even though it is on the Main Street, and the lady on reception was so nice. Will be back again next year.

Little extra touches like the lollies, makeup face washer, extra towels in cupboard if you needed them, nice choice of teas, decent coffee, little bottles of real milk and full stocked mini bar if you are in to them, just to name a few, were all really nice. Even the spare blanket was wrapped up in a blanket bag. Easy parking outside room. Was a great 2 night stay. Will definitely stay there again and recommend to others.

Surprisingly, no guest information folder in room so had to keep popping to reception to ask for recommendations for places to eat, etc. Clean and comfortable bed, pillows, sofa and chairs. Small table and 2 chairs outside the door (under cover) - great for enjoying a cold drink after a very hot day! Air con very good and quiet. Guests can use the washing machine and dryer, also a very useful pull-out hanging line in the bathroom. WiFi was great plus lots of USB sockets. Don't know if they do breakfasts as advertised as we weren't offered any. Microwave, kettle, toaster, etc in kitchenette with a proper kitchen sink. Plenty of crockery and cutlery provided. Good size under counter fridge was well stocked. A little road noise but the motel is conveniently just off the A1 Princes Highway. Would definitely stay here if in the area again. One suggestion - provide guests with a separate bin for recycling plastics etc?
