This property was excellent! Very close to town but beautiful property. We were only able to stay one night, but breakfast was wonderful. A huge spread was laid out and you didn’t know where to go to first. Staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. Rooms were very Clean I would highly recommend this place if you’re visiting Syracuse

We relied on reviews to stay at this property. Along the way, the road there made us skeptical as to what to expect. However, following the signs and arriving at the white gates opened us up to paradise. There are 2 pools, one salt with a jacuzzi, and the other enormous and elegant, complete with bar service. There is a fabulous restaurant on site, and a menu of spa services. Our room had a little outdoor patio and was clean and charming. Also, the complimentary breakfast was to die for! Our thanks to Jiuce and her wonderful staff. We will definitely be back again!

Excellent facilities — pool, table tennis, gym. Rooms were comfortable, although not spacious. Very good breakfast, with incredible variety and quantity of items on the buffet — although some items did not seem to be freshly made every morning. Would have been nice to have had homemade jams, rather than the packaged kind. Overall, very good service (especially front desk welcome, with very useful briefing on the resort and tips for visiting sights in the areas). Breakfast service was marred by odd delays in getting our coffee.
Please note that resort is about 20 minutes drive from Ortigia, partly through potholed and narrow country roads. It’s a peaceful setting, but not close to dining options.

Stayed here 3 nights, the hotel is modern very clean and comfortable with very professional and helpful staff. All set in beautiful relaxing surroundings.

The location is conveniently located to reach Siracusa with a shuttle service to the city (book @ €15 return x room).

The breakfast was very good with a very extensive selection to choose from and along with the restaurant service helpful with pleasant atmospher.

The large pool is beautiful, well maintained and a plesure to swim in.

The staff are very attentive and their knowlede of the area excelant and very helpful.

All in all a great experience so we would happily stay here again.

Pampered in Borgo Pantano

Lovely property filled with orange trees and flowers. The resort and spa made it a truly relaxing stay. Wonderful buffet breakfast! Shuttle into the city was convenient. The staff was extremely accommodating and professional.

Borgo Pantano fully deserves all its exceptional ratings - the owners and staff were wonderful, the food was excellent, the swimming pool is fantastic, it is very family friendly and they really have thought of everything. Great value too (earlier in our holiday we stayed in a hotel double the price and Borgo Pantano beat it hands down across many areas) - love this place!

Best breakfast and best service ever

I had really good experience at this hotel.

Breakfast was the best one I've ever had at any restaurant over the world. There are so many kinds of Italian food and could not try all only for 3days.

Unfortunately my son got heat stroke but the staffs were so kind to help us out for whole day. We could not enjoy Sicily as much as expected, but this hotel made our holiday very special and unforgettable.

Gorgeous grounds, particularly the swimming pool, nice rooms. Staff extremely helpful.

Breakfast is stunning!

Downside is the location as it's 15 minutes away from Ortigia. The hotel can arrange a taxi but they charge 10 euros (which isn't bad) but the timings of it aren't convenient. If you hire a car then it's perfect!

Country Comfort and Relaxation

A beautiful hotel run by highly passionate and customer oriented staff. You can’t fault them for wanting to help you in every way.

The pools and grounds were well designed and inviting, not too busy and not too boring, but offering just the right amount of relaxation.

The outdoor restaurant dinner on the rooftop was delicious and the breakfast was the single greatest display of fine food I’ve ever seen at any 5 star hotel in the world...The Four Seasons would have a few things to learn from this breakfast. The owner greeted us at breakfast and in doing so, took responsibility for as the face of the hotel, which was much appreciated.

Our requested baby cribs were set up prior to arrival, a good sign of customer care and organization.

Our room was modern and functional, perhaps a bit sterile, but a welcome comfort after traveling in the countryside.

World class breakfast!

This is a wonderful hotel, set in the countryside outside Syracuse. Our junior suite was roomy and well-appointed, the pools were inviting and dinner in the restaurant was excellent. A special mention for breakfast, it really was world class. An amazing range of Sicilian tastes, savoury and sweet, with a warm welcome each morning too from the owner!

It's a little out of town so a hire car is a real benefit. The hotel runs a shuttle but times are a little limited.

We really loved the hotel and Sicilian hospitality and hope to visit again

Beautiful place with gorgeous pool & gardens. Excellent staff - always friendly & willing to go the extra mile. Rooms comfortable & cleaned immaculately. Walls rather thin however so you will hear your neighbours cough/sneeze etc. Nothing to do nearby so a car is essential for unless you are willing to pay the price for dinner on site (I wouldn’t recommend - certainly not value for money) Overall a lovely stay but head to Syracuse for dinner!

An oasis of calm with extremely helpful staff

As soon as we arrived at this hotel, a few miles outside Syracuse, we felt relaxed. There's a large swimming pool, extensive grounds and comfortable rooms. But what sets it apart is the friendliness of the staff who make a connection with all the guests, explaining the facilities over a cup of coffee when you arrive, greeting you each time they see you and bringing choices of food to your table in the restaurant. We needed to post a parcel and pay a parking fine picked up in a previous town. Both were sorted for us with the minimum of fuss. We wished we could stay longer and now want to return!

The room decor in superior room was amazing. Great pool and grounds , excellent food and charming staff.
You do need a car as its in the middle of nowhere and our room didn't have outside space which we would have liked. Shuttle service into Syracouse was available but limited times and chargeable.

Great little hotel. Staff very friendly, food is very good even though the hotel restaurant is a little expensive by Sicilian standards. The breakfast is fantastic, all fresh home made products. The hotel is about 20 mins from the Syracruse and really in the middle of nowhere you will need a car with GPS ask the hotel for the road as the gps didn't recognize the address.
We had a great time many thanks to marina the child minder and Daniel for his cocktails and the kind ladies in the restaurant!

The best hotel in Sicily!

This was the best place we stayed in Sicily, it really is a haven. The hotel itself is beautiful and set in beautiful grounds, lots of fruit trees everywhere. We had a family room, our little girl slept downstairs and we were upstairs and it was terrific, really clean, very modern, everything worked (which it didn't in some other, more expensive hotels we stayed in)The pool area is beautifully kept and there are so many sunbeds, hammocks even four poster beds to relax in! The restaurant was great, we had some fabulous meals. But what made this hotel better than anywhere else i have stayed were the staff, each and everyone went that extra mile to make you feel special and cared for. I would go back in a heartbeat!

An OASIS....Incredible Hotel!

Stayed three nights and absolutely loved this hotel. It is a wellness center and though we didn't use the services there was an overall atmosphere of calm and beauty surrounding the premises. The rooms are modern and there are two types, one level with your own outside seating area or the two storey with a sitting room downstairs, your room upstairs and a balcony with a seating area outside overlooking the courtyard. The grounds are spectacular and the pool is heavenly. Everything about this hotel was first class...especially the service. The breakfast spread was incredible and the staff were so accommodating since I have dietary restrictions...I spoke to the chef and he made me a special treat...the staff there were all fabulous!!! We ate dinner one night there and it is also fine dining. This is definitely one of my all time favourite hotels and I hope to come back soon.

Lovely hotel outside Syracuse

If you're driving this hotel is worth it. If you're not, it is rather far away from the city. That said, it's a beautiful location with a fantastic pool and an even better breakfast. The staff are wonderful and you couldn't ask for better service. The restaurant is good but pricey. The breakfast was by far the best we had in Sicily!

Spent 2 nights in this hotel and was very impressed with many aspect. What stood out most was the warm welcome we received from all the hotel staff, regardless of their jobs. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was done with enthusiasm. The restaurant was very good, the pool and grounds were tasteful and very functional and our room was comfortable and full of character. The only downside was the location which is somewhat bland but the quality of everything else more than made up for this.

We have been to Italy many times and this is easily the nicest, best run hotel that we have stopped in. The staff are welcoming and friendly, the facilities are high quality. It is a small, boutique hotel. We stayed a week and the hotel was nearly always full., yet it was never busy and there were always spaces available at the poolside and around the grounds. We ate in the hotel restaurant twice and the food was great and comparable prices to restaurants in the town. My wife had a birthday while we were there and without any prompting, the staff sang an Italian version of 'happy birthday' at breakfast and provided a birthday cake. I assume that they found out from the passport date of birth and it is a good example of the the attention to detail that the hotel provides. We had a hire car for the week and it is around 15 minute drive to ortigia (where the restaurants are). The hotel does provide a chargeable shuttle as it is in the middle of the countryside and there's nothing significant within walking distance.

Lived up to expectations

We stayed at the hotel Borgo Pantano for one night with our two young children. We booked based on the brilliant Expedia reviews, and we were not disappointed.

Our room was two story, not what we were expecting but a very welcome surprise. We put the children to bed downstairs and still had our own space upstairs to have a nightcap and watch a bit of TV.

The pool area was simply amazing and as we had fantastic weather the day we were there, we stayed there until late afternoon. There were also rope swings dotted around the orange trees as well as a hammock and a playground (tucked away so as not to disturb guests with no children), this along with the shallow beach effect part of the pool kept our kids more than happy.

The staff was amazing, so helpful and polite with near perfect English which helped us seeing as our Italian is very basic. The receptionist did us a huge favour by phoning the owner of our holiday rental for the next week, who spoke no English at all, and helped organise collecting the keys. That was a real help to us.

We will definitely be returning next time we visit Sicily.

An great Oasis about 20 min outside Siracusa....

I thought that is was a great place. The staff was excellent, the grounds where superb and the breakfast was big. We loved the time we spent relaxing at the pool, and the location was a good jump point for visiting some wine country and Siracusa. I would highly recommend to anyone. I thought it was worth the cost... But others may not agree, if you are one to trade cleanliness or amenities for lower cost.

Gracious hospitality sets the tone.

The Borgo Pantano is a beautiful hotel - lovely grounds and pool, lots of comfortable spots set aside for private conversation, immaculate rooms, but it is the quality of service that sets this hotel apart. Each and every interaction I had with hotel staff, be it the groundskeeper, the room service staff, front desk staff, servers at dinner, or the operating manager, was kind, helpful, and friendly.

As an example of the above-and-beyond service that was provided, on one afternoon my wife and I wanted to go visit Euryalus Castle. It's in the opposite direction of downtown, and the price quoted by taxi drivers was very high (although it's not that far from the Borgo Pantano). The manager, surprised at the scale of the quotes coming in, actually made special arrangements to have one of his staff take us out to the castle at no charge.

Amazing and relaxing stay!

We arrived here and stayed three nights for part of our exploration of Sicily! We arrived via train, and our previous hotel had already phoned ahead so Borgo had a taxi waiting for us holding a sheet with our name on it. The hotel is a bit out of the way in that you do need a ride in and out of the city, so for us it was 20 euro each way, or Borgo also has a shuttle that runs at specific times that costs 5 euro a person, each way.

Other the slight inconvenience of travel, the resort itself is lovely with modern, clean, spacious rooms and large beds, and we loved that there were even bathrobes for us to wear. We were also impressed with the breakfast buffet, which was the largest we'd seen the whole trip, with an assortment of drinks, eggs and bacon, meats, bread, and homemade pastries, and fresh fruit even! We loved it.

The pool is very large and was especially uncrowded since we went in late October, but was very clean, and there is plenty of lawn furniture to lounge on during nicer days.There's also a small game room near the lobby which has a foosball table, ping pong table, Wii console, and some games. As my husband and I are very much children at heart, we spent a lot of time in this room as well waiting for dinner.

The concierge was more than helpful the entire time, and offered many suggestions when we asked our questions in good English. The onsite restaurant is definitely a good option with a large variety considering the cost to go into the city instead.

The pool is beautiful

Lovely hotel with great staff who were very willing to help and extremely friendly. The hotel is stylish - we had a room on 2 levels which was unusual and fun. The restaurant is lovely too - try the risotto - the lightest I have ever tasted on a light ricotta sauce - just gorgeous. The breakfast is very good too. The pool is just stunning - one of the best anywhere although pretty cold in October! The hotel is a bit out of the way but worth it for the exceptional pool and restaurant.

This was our first experience with driving in Sicily. We were looking for a hotel outside Syracuse to chill out in at night, which also had easy access to the Greek ruins for visits during the day. The only issue we had with the hotel was actually locating it, but mostly that was due to our unfamiliarity with Sicilian roads. Everything else was top notch. We were upgraded to a bigger room. The breakfast, included in our room rate was sumptuous, the wi-fi was good, the pool was stunning and everyone who worked at the hotel was as helpful and friendly as they could be. We ate dinner at the hotel 3 times- excellent each night. It was hard to leave.

Our stay at the hotel Borgo Pantano was amazing. The hotel was beautifully presented. The rooms were of a high standard and the pool was one of the best we have visited, always enough seats for everyone. All of the staff were friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough to ensure our stay was special.
The buffet breakfast was delicious, with a great choice for everyone. The owner greeted us (and every guest) every morning and seemed to be genuinely interested in making sure we were ok.
The food in the restaurant was nice, but a little pricey; although nice to do on a couple of nights. The staff were more than happy to recommend other places, reasonably priced to eat. We would definitely visit it again.

We arrived after midnight due to late flights, I had told the hotel we would be late and they offered to put some food in the room for us, the meal was fantastic!
The staff were always willing and keen to help, nothing was to much trouble.
The hotel and its grounds were tastefully decorated, and the pool was terrific!

The food in the restaurant was tasty and great value

Overall our stay was perfect. Would we stay there again, you bet we will!

Wonderfully comfortable hotel

We were given a choice of rooms - chose one with a mezzanine bedroom. Lovely pool area, very helpful staff, and great breakfast! Slightly off the beaten track, but well worth it.

OK for a pool side break - not great for touring

Booked a Comfort room. When arrived shown a triple room on 2 floors with narrow internal staircase to bathroom - did not want this, so shown another room on one floor (still being cleaned). Tired and hungry, so said this would be ok. After a nights sleep - asked at reception to change room, as the room seemed very small and we thought we had a classic (basic) room. Informed that this was the right room and no other rooms were available. Very little space around the bed and a built in wardrobe with a curtain instead of a door. Poor lighting in bathroom, especially for make-up application. The photos are very misleading and must have been taken with a wide-eye lense. The bed was comfortable and room was clean. Pool area very pleasant, but pool freezing cold. Breakfast was good, but not impressed with lunch or dinner. Location hard to find and not convenient if you wish to tour this part of Sicily. Lots of new/unfinished roundabouts and junctions which just cause confusion. Roads full of potholes/fly tipping/prostitutes waiting near roundabouts! Sat Nav instructions contradict the road signs. If you want to go to a hotel and stay by the pool for a few days then this hotel is fine. If you want to tour/eat out then I would suggest you look elsewhere.

What a fantastic hidden treasure!

What a fantastic hidden treasure. It's got all the charm of a rustic retreat with all the luxury of a 5 star spa hotel. The team just can't do enough to ensure you feel welcome and have a wonderful stay. The food was delicious, we both had fantastic massages and spent hours relaxing by the beautiful pool. Before we left we inquired about hotels near Palermo for 3 days down the line and the staff (who all speak fantastic English and encourage you to practice your Italian) went out of their way checking the Internet and calling hotels to ensure we ended our Sicilian stay in the same style we started it. I will go back again and again - Thank you for a wonderful time Borgo Pantano!

Very relaxing comfortable stay.

The hotel was lovely. Great pool area and sun loungers including four poster beds. The staff were very helpful and friendly too. One tip, don't follow your sat navigation to the hotel as it will take you the wrong way. Get directions from website or direct from hotel. Restuarant is very nice, and only place to eat really unless you drive into Siracusa.

Rooms somewhat tight

Hotel was very clean. Staff were very patient and helpful, particularly Noémie and others at the reception desk. Buffet breakfast was good, although not quite as good as those offered by several other hotels we stayed at in Sicily. Amenities were very good, particularly the pool and grounds, but location was a bit remote and inconvenient and our room the first night so small that there was hardly space for a chair and we requested (and were granted) a room change.

Nice service, but not walking distance to anything

Beautiful spa hotel, fantastic pool and surrounding area for families and weddings.Orange trees in full bloom, filled the air with their perfume. Too far from anything to walk so take the shuttle for 5E rt. Save driving in traffic, no parking spots, no chance of a ticket...worth every euro. Breakfast was excellent, more than any one could ask for including omelletes on request. Diner was hit or miss on what we liked, service was spotty. Hotel on the other hand was quick and responsive to any request, very helpful. Beds were firm but comfortable memory foam, lines crisp and nice, flat pillows, ask for extra. Rooms were very clean, some rather small, comfort rooms worth the extra euros.

Hotel Borgo Pantano, Syracuse, Sicily, IT

A wonderful hotel located 20 minutes outside Syracuse (Siracusa) in agricultural area. Hotel is styled in manner of a Sicilian walled farm, surrounded by olive and fruit tree groves. Great pool complex, comfortably sized rooms and all amenities. Our only regret is that we only planned to stay one night. Very good restaurant, very friendly and helpful staff. Can't say enough about this hotel. And the city of Syracuse was a pleasant surprise as well, particularly Ortygia area.

Best hotel in Sicily

We are just back from a two-weeks stay in Sicily, and we have been to many great hotels during that time. But I must say that Borgo Pantano is the best hotel we have been in Sicily.The staff is very friendly and the surroundings are ideal. We were to try different restaurants in Siracusa, but instead we had dinner at the hotel restaurant during our entire stay, and did not regret it.The buffet breakfast is exquisite, cannot ask for better.We did not have a GPS, and we had a hard time finding the hotel, because you wonder if you are in the right direction, since you are travelling on a small country road. But it was all worth it.

Perfect for a relaxing break

Lovely pool area, lots of space to relax and very helpful staff. The food was much better than I would have expected for a relatively small hotel and the menu changed daily. The rooms and suites were stylish and comfortable. All in all, a fantastic hotel for a relaxing break.

Perfect Sicilian retreat

Beauty, serenity in abundance. From the moment you arrive you dread leaving. Complete wind down territory. Restaurant a slight let down though and we ended up eating out every evening ... Excellent hotel for adults & children

Spent one night at Borgo Pantano with my family this August. We had 2 lovely rooms (including a free upgrade to a triple suite which was a nice surprise!). Evening meal was good but breakfast even better - a huge choice was offered at the buffet. Pool was lovely with huge choice of seating & beds (great fun for the children) also beach towels were freely available. Staff spoke excellent English & were very helpful & courteous. An excellent base for a short stay.

I highly recommend this resort!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My family and I came to this hotel not knowing what to expect. We were all pleasantly surprised by how much of a \"resort\" atmosphere existed, and how clean and comfortable the accomodations were.

Upon reception, the staff was very engaging and helpful. They went out of their way to ensure that we were properly checked in, and that we had a list of sites to see in Siracusa along with directions.

The rooms are clean, and appear to have been either recently restored or are not that old. Also, there is plenty of airconditioning if required so environmental comfort is NOT an issue.

The pool area is wonderful. You could spend the entire day on the resort and not feel closed in or bored. The grounds are in \"restort style\" condition and very appealing to just hang around, and relax with a few drinks while taking in the serenity of your surroundings.

The Hotel Restaurant: A complimentary breakfast is included in the room price, and is excellent! Dinner is good, but the prices are a little higher than I would have expected.

I will certainly visit this hotel/resort again, and HIGHLY RECOMMEND this resort to any one travelling through Siracusa.

Lovely hotel amid beautiful surroundings

We were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the hotel. We weren't expecting such beautiful grounds. The staff were gracious and friendly and made us feel at home. The pool area was gorgeous, the rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the breakfast was wonderful! The hotel is a 15-minute ride from the main sights in town. Because it's in the countryside, it's not so easy to find, so it's a good idea to bring along a navigation aid.

Relaxing hotel

Thus is a hotel of difference. For those who prefer calm and relaxed stay. Very helpful staff, yet not interrupting your own ways. Nice swimming pool and garden. This is a country side hotel, so be prepared to spend time searching for it in a maze of small roads, however there are good signs helpfully set up at crucial turning points. Overall, very satisfied with the stay here.

WONDERFUL RESORT, YOU CAN'T FIND A BETTER PLACE!

One of the best hotel I have stayed, EVER! Beautiful surrounding extremely nice pool, beautiful rooms, very week furnished, nice details, flat screen tv with incorporated DVD player, extra soft towels and fine sheets. Free wireless Internet all over the resort. Very good restaurant with a good breakfast, the only thing I can complain about are the Scrambled eggs, since they are very dry. Obviously this is a minor detail, just to make you understand how everything is perfect! Free parking, and very close to Ortigia, the historic part of Siracusa, one of the most romantic town in the world!

Deserves to be a great success

This hotel is great value for money; comfortable room, good and helpful staff, good sized pool with nice treats like a hammock and shaded beds on the poolside. Bit of a trek to Siracusa but once you get to know the route it is easy. Highly recommended.

What a great place to relax after two weeks of nonstop walking and sightseiing around Sicily. We didn´t even leave the place during the two days we were there.

Très bel établissement. L’endroit est retiré mais le domaine est immense et très bien tenu. Piscine et transats respirent luxe et sérénité. La propriétaire souvent présente veille au bien-être des hôtes. La gentillesse du personnel est remarquable, un modèle pour la Sicile ! Merci beaucoup.
Le petit-déjeuner est gargantuesque, peut-être la quantité excède la qualité.
La chambre est magnifique et très confortable, attention néanmoins à veiller à l’entretien des équipements (paroi de douche mal fixée et fenêtre dont l’ouverture latérale est malaisée).
