We liked the hotel and choose it for it's size of the rooms which are hard t find in the area. Proximity from here to Modica/Ragusa was also great and why we picked it. Breakfast was nice since there arent many options very close but there was a charge. Staff was very friendly and helpful but some didnt speak English very well so patience is key or better to know some Italian! We booked their largest room which was a nice size but the bathroom was very small even by Italian standards. Furniture was a bit old/musty and we did find a couple of small bugs but they were dead. There is a bit of street noise but nothing like being in side a city. The condo is right on the street. If the room had updated furniture and a slight remodel this could be a 5 star place.

I would definitely stay here again and utilize the spa. All the desk clerks (especially Veronica) were so helpful and went out of their way to make our stay as easy as it could be. The hotel was beautiful .... very contemporary. We ate on the premises and it was amazing. The chef was one of the best. Our dinner and service could not have been any better. Breakfast was fabulous.

AMAZING it's a five star resort sitting outside Modica. You do need a car but once you arrive everything is there, beautiful pool and health spa, restaurant and the breakfast is beyond compare.

Don’t miss the restaurant

The hotel is a bit outside the town of Modica, and we initially thought it too quiet to eat in the restaurant. However, the food is really good quality (best of some very good meals we had), and very fair price for the quality, so don’t miss out. Rooms are good size and huge comfortable beds and pillows. Few frills, but everything we needed (air-con, fridge, safe, OK wi-if and TV). Nice pool and garden, small gym and a spa that was a bit of a rip-off.

This is a solid three star hotel. Service people are very helpful and definitely very professional; great breakfast buffet. But the premises leave a lot to be desired: very spartan room; very spartan terrace; small swimming pool; no free spa access for guests; basic countryside view (no garden surroundings); weak internet connection in room; strange tap water (kind of soapy and with weird sweet flavor - had to use bottled water to brush my teeth). Absolutely no reason to return.

Comfortable hotel at hub of baroque Sicilian towns

Lovely hotel, lovely staff but location is relatively far from any of the cities you might want to visit. Very narrow, winding roads all around. Would be better to find accommodations closer to one of the towns so that having dinner out does not become an ordeal.

Beautiful Spa Resort

The hotel was Fantastic, and extremely relaxing. The spa was amazing and the price was much lower than I expected. The hotel was very close to the industrial area where there was an incredible amount of shopping facilities and restaurants. Eating at the hotel was a pleasure as the food was more of an a la carte service rather than tipical hotel service with the choices on the menu being exciting and delicious, and the breakfast buffet is fantastic. The restaurants near the hotel are plentiful and the varieties are many. Ranging from snack to 5 star a la carte service. The pizzarias are to die for and take a small drive out of the area and you'll find the most delicious seafood restaurants, or if you prefer turf instead of surf there are meat lovers steakhouses just around the corner in the industrial area. The rooms were simple but elegant with modern tones of art and class being all in white the color makes for a bright and relaxing room. Having large terraces with tables and chairs for morning coffee or just a look at the beautiful view of the hotel facilities. The cleaning services are spot on leaving the rooms fresh and clean without interrupting your holiday. In fact the cleaners are on the go all the time leaving the entire hotel fresh and clean. With a large and private parking area with car canapes when raining or windy. All and all I think this hotel and spa is a fantastic get away from the stress of everyday living which I would recommend to everyone I know. Perfect

Upon our arrival we were told that Wifi is down which was disappointing and they did not know when it would be fixed. Nonetheless it seems to have been fixed by the following day though it was not very good. Speed was slow or just not good enough for some basic work.

other that that the rooms are a little bit small but clean, comfy and modern.

A good hotel with some disadvantages

A good hotel but with some drawbacks.
It is a long way from anywhere, Modica is the nearest city some 5 miles away and so a car is essential, even so it is difficult to find and road signage in the area is terrible. A particular problem was access to the road, being a blind and potentially dangerous exit.
Building work was being carried out during our visit, but even allowing for this cleanliness of the pool area was poor, there being cigarette ends lying about and not cleared up
The staff were friendly and helpful. There were insufficient facilities for what I would call a resort.

Very nice quiet hotel

The hotel is very modern, the rooms are clean and have a fridge and a safe. We were on the first floor and had a balcony overlooking the pool at the back. I asked for a room at the back as I had read a review saying the road could be noisy. The room was generally quiet but there was a wedding reception one evening and it was very loud in our room. The breakfast was good but we didn't have an evening meal in the hotel. The staff were pleasant, and Veronica on reception was very helpful and always had a smile on her face so made us feel very welcome. Excellent value for money.

Fantastic hotel

This hotel is fantastic. It is very modern and well designed with stylish furniture and fittings in the rooms. Considering the price you pay, it is very very good value compared to many other hotels. The décor in the communal areas of the hotel, such as the foyer, is impressive and the pool area is beautiful. The room itself is a good size with an enormous bed and the usual facilities. The bathroom was nice although some aspects weren't quite in keeping with the hotels ultra-modern feel. Everything was impeccably clean and well looked after. The breakfast was very extensive and included cereal, pastries, cooked breakfast, cold meats, hot drinks and even prosecco for those who want a slightly more indulgent breakfast. The service of the hotel staff was brilliant and they were more than happy to help with any requests which we had. Their English was great and they were happy to point out good places to visit and eat in the local area. The only slight downside to the hotel is its location which requires a car to go anywhere. I was aware of this when booking and so it wasn't much of a problem but there are absolutely nothing around the hotel and the nearest town is Modica which is a 10 minute drive away. Modica itself has some great restaurants and shops though so this isn't too much of a problem. Thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our stay at Pietre Nere and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a holiday in southern Sicily!

Nice modern hotel, friendly staff

The hotel is modern, the staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast caters for everyone. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Sicily however I would caveat this with saying car hire is a must. The hotel is in the countryside so all of the sights and local towns are a drive away. I don't think we would have enjoyed our stay as much if we had not had a car.

Well run hotel

The staff were really excellent; the restaurant dinner menu was creative and interesting. The rooms we had were bright and full of light; big windows for daylight, and plenty of lightbulbs for evening. The bathrooms were good. The only negative was that we had not realised that this is a popular wedding/events hotel; we arrived on a Friday and left Sunday morning. There was a wedding on the Friday (so there was loud music late into the night, and noisy guests making their way to rooms); another wedding on the Saturday and also a second, smaller family event on the Saturday.

Quiet location but disappointing restaurant

We had a good 5 night stay at Pietre Nere. Thr hotel appeared recently refurbished and was well-maintained. Our room was clean and comfortable and I would recommend booking the superior rooms with a balcony - which are spacious. The hotel is located in the countryside and is a 15-min drive to Modica. The only reason I did not rate the hotel a 5 was due to the restaurant and the lack of staff at the hotel, noticeable mainly at breakfast. We ate dinner at the hotel restaurant (only for guests) once and found the food very average (pasta with prawns had little prawns and lots of very bitter chicory for about 12 euros). The service was awkward, slow and there was also a mix-up with the bill which should have been avoided. This was disappointing given the hotel seems to hold regular weddings in the function area next door.

Amazing Hotel

I was absolutely thrilled with this hotel, it was an amazing find. All the staff are very professional and friendly and took care of everything for us, including the car hire.

Also I can't rate highly enough how incredible the chef was. We ventured out to various restaurants, but this was by far the best place to eat.

It was quiet when we were there - which added to the charm. I will certainly stay there again when I visit Sicily next time!

Unica pecca è il WiFi, in camera inesistente e poca ricezione in piscina e spazi comuni. In ogni caso era in fine settimana di relax, quindi non essenziale!

Ambitioniertes Wellness-Hotel mit eklatanten Schwä

10 Autominuten von Modica entfernt liegt die schöne Hotelanlage mit grossem Aussenpool und Wellnessbereich. Zimmer recht klein mit unpraktischer Einrichtung, Schrank blockierte die Nachttischschubladen und stand direkt vor dem Spiegel, das Fernsehsignal setzte wegen Antennenstörung immer wieder aus, das Zimmer war kühl, auch eine wiederholte Bitte brachte dabei kaum Besserung und die Schalisolierung war miserabel, man konnte vom Nebenzimmer quasi jedes Wort verstehen. Frühstücksbuffet riesig, aber der einzige Kellner mit der Covid-bedingte Bedienung der Gäste überfordert, für das Abendessen stand nur eine sehr kleine Auswahl an Speisen zur Verfügung, Qualität des Essens und Service war hier mittelmässig.
Nach Abreise wurden wir sogar per Email beschuldigt, die in unserem Badezimmer fehlenden Tücher und einen Badezimmerteppich möglicherweise entwendet zu haben. Fakt ist, dass der Room Service nach der ersten Nacht fast alle Tücher mitgenommen aber nicht ersetzt hatte, nicht einmal neues Toilettenpapier hatte man uns gegeben, was aber noch da war hat uns grad gereicht. Auf diese unsere Antwort hin, hat man sich nicht etwa entschuldigt, sondern uns vorgeworfen, wir hätten uns beim Fehlen der Tücher gleich melden sollen, als ob es unsere Aufgabe als Gast ist, den Room Service zu kontrollieren und Gegenstände duchzuzählen..
Für das Gebotene war der günstige Preis ganz ok, allerdings klaffen bei diesem Hotel Ambition und Rea

La struttura è immersa in un contesto paesaggistico di campagna, quindi molto tranquillo, aria non inquinata da smog ,silenzioso. La struttura molto elegante , la distribuzione di luci soffuse rende il soggiorno ancora più piacevole, colazione eccellente, torte artigianali di elevata qualità, preparate in giornata . Rispetto delle norme covid garantito . Personale squisito. Camere spaziose , semplici, pulite e funzionali. Bellissima piscina. Sicuramente consigliata.

Het hotel was super over de gehele lijn , niet veel op aan te merken . Het ontbijt is heel uitgebreid , was er iets niet aanwezig hoef je het maar te vragen , het avondeten was zeer lekker , de bediening heel vriendelijk . Alles zeer netjes , 1minpuntje is misschien dat er in het weekend feesten worden gegeven , maar die duren niet zo lang en dan zie je die mooie Sicilianen in hun mooiste kleren paraderen !

Als aber dann doch jemand erreicht wurde, war schnell eine Tasse Kaffee und ein paar Kekse zur Stelle.

L'albergo è molto bello e confortevole ed il personale sempre gentile e disponibile. Ma le stanze e i bagni sono un po' troppo piccoli, cosi come la doccia a disposizione. Avevamo anche un ampio terrazzino, grande quasi quanto la camera stessa ma non separato da quello delle camere adiacenti, se non con dei vasi molto bassi. A parte questo l'insonorizzazione delle camere è inesistente, di notte si sentono distintamente gli scarichi dei bagni delle altre camere. anche la spa è piccolina ma completa di tutto. Ottima la colazione. Nonostante questi piccoli difetti il soggiorno è stato gradevole ma non so se ci torneremmo in futuro.

Struttura sicuramente non all’altezza delle 4*S che vengono decantate. Colazione su tavoli rotondi comuni a più ospiti, spesso lasciati sporchi dal personale; bevande servite su bicchieri di plastica; colazione salata molto limitata e scadente. Le stanze sono minimal e spoglie, il bagno presentava mattonelle rotte e la doccia allagava il bagno ad ogni utilizzo. Pulizie da rivedere.
Nel complesso, un’esperienza che non ripeterò.

Gradevole struttura posta nella campagna modicana ed a pochi minuti dalla città barocca, dotata di ampio parcheggio, piscina e spa, a cui però è molto difficile accedere perché dotata di appena otto posti ed è necessario prenotare con largo anticipo non essendo prevista alcuna facilitazione per gli ospiti dell'albergo. Bella anche la piscina, ma la cui manutenzione lascia alquanto a desiderare avendo riscontrato delle chiazze di muffa ai bordi della stessa. Personale gentilissimo, efficiente e disponibilissimo e colazione a buffet che offre una larga scelta di buoni prodotti. Le note dolenti vengono dalle camere, nella fattispecie deluxe: impianto di climatizzazione di tipo antiquato, eccessivamente rumoroso e di erogazione dell'aria non costante; camere poco insonorizzate al punto da poter sentire quanto avviene in quelle vicine; bagno piccolo rispetto alla camera, privo di una superficie di appoggio di buone dimensioni, privo di efficace insonorizzazione tanto da distinguere distintamente lo scorrere dell'acqua in quello vicino e privo anche di bocchette di climatizzazione con conseguente surriscaldamento dell'aria; televisore collegato a Sky, però soggetto agli inserimenti della scheda/chiave della camera in cui esiste una sola presa, per di più posta dietro il comodino che bisogna spostare per inserire una normale spina con attacco Usb. Insomma, per un resort 4 stelle superior proprio non ci siamo.

このホテルはプールとジムがあり、エステ棟も建設中（近日オープンと書いてありました）のりーゾートタイプのホテルです。
今回は旅の途中の１泊でしたが、次回は数泊してノンビリしたいと思うホテルです。

部屋は綺麗＆清潔でしたが、スーツケース置きやティッシュなど細々した物がなく日本人的には満点ではありませんでしたが、辛めに見ているので普通なら満点に近いホテルです。
朝食は１階のレストランでしたが、スペースもあり品数も問題ありません。コーヒーは好きなものを言うとパブで入れて持ってきてくれました。
翌日時間が取れるのでモーディカ市内の見所などレセプションで聞いたところ、有名なチョコレート店など市内で行けば良いところと、次の目的地（シラクーサ）を聞いて少し遠回りでもシチリア島の最南端に近い町Marzamemiでシーフードをぜひ味わうべきと紹介されました。
実際に紹介された市内やMarzamemiでは楽しい時間を過ごせたので、訪れる方は是非レセプションに見所を聞いてみてください。

Bel hôtel un peu excentré

Grande chambre très propre mais manque juste un peu de décoration ( beaucoup de blanc d’ou une impression de froid)bonne literie, le personnel ( en particulier Véronica qui parle français est très serviable) Wifi impeccable, le petit déjeuner est très varié avec beaucoup d’excellentes pâtisseries. Seul bémol les navettes pour Modica sont à réserver 24 heures avant( seulement 2/jours) sinon payantes.

Urlaubs-Atmosphäre stellt sich nur schwer ein:
- kleines Hotelzimmer wie in einem Tagungshotel, ziemlich hellhörig. Bad extrem eng.
- Frühstück ist nur drinnen möglich. Es werden Plastikstühle mit weißen Hussen bezogen (Was soll das?!) Das große Frühstücksbuffet sieht zwar gut aus, der Geschmack lässt aber sowohl bei den Kuchen als auch bei den deftigen Speisen zu wünschen übrig. Wenn man um 9 Uhr zum Frühstück kam, gab es schon kein Obst mehr und es wurde auch nicht nachgefüllt.
- Wir mussten am Tag der Abreise vor der Frühstückszeit abreisen, und haben entgegen der Versprechung am Vortag nur einen Kaffee zum Frühstück bekommen.
- Morgens um 5 Uhr hat ein Nachbar seinen Müll illegal verbrannt, das ganze Hotel hat nach Rauch gerochen und man konnte nicht mehr schlafen. Dazu kam, dass der Portier erst gar nicht rüber gehen, geschweige denn die Polizei rufen wollte. Erst nach mehrfacher Aufforderung und nachdem das ganze Hotel wach war.
Zusammenfassend ist das Hotel in Ordnung, aber nicht schön oder besonders. Oberflächlich ist alles schön. Aber schon ein zweiter Blick verrät, es liegt dem Hotel nicht viel an seinem Gast bzw. es wird auf Wohlfühlen kein besonderer Wert gelegt (z.B. kostet ein zweites Pool-Handtuch 2 €). Wer einen schönen Urlaub verleben will, sollte sich lieber ein anderes Hotel suchen.

Cargos inesperados

Cargos inesperados al check-out. Claramente en la reserva indica impuestos incluidos y así se lo hago saber al chico de recepción que reconoce que es cierto pero que tiene que cobrar.
Segundo punto negativo; no hay bar en piscina, hay que esperar al camarero que sale cada muchas horas o levantarte tu mismo e ir a por alguna bebida. Lo último es que en un hotel de estas características se cobre el \"servicio\" por ponerte una consumición.
A la llegada se indica que las toallas de piscina sólo una es gratis y luego que tenemos derecho a un cambio (estuvimos 7 días), en fin...
Las hamacas de la piscina no están en buenas condiciones, de hecho varias necesitan reparaciones.
Existen unas normas como por ejemplo no ocupar hamacas con toallas e irse toda la tarde y la gente lo hacía sin que el Hotel hiciera nada al respecto.

Por lo demás, personal muy amable, siempre con una sonrisa y ganas de ayudar. Gran piscina aunque con los defectos ya comentados. Limpieza, variedad en el desayuno, buen parking y buenas instalaciones en general.

Estos comentarios sirven normalmente para que otros clientes sepan que se pueden encontrar, pero me gustaría que el establecimiento las tuviera en cuenta y no se quedara en un simple comentario vacío. El hotel tiene mucho potencial y sus empleados ganas de hacerlo bien pero no me parece la política correcta.

Ok, but will not visit again

The hotel is ok, but staff cannot deal with complaints well enough, because of the lack in speaking any other language except for Italian. Noisy rooms, weird towe charge at checkout, breakfast was not replenished on regular basis. Would not reccomend the hotel. Spa is very good, so maybe book the spa only...

Perfect base to explore rural Sicily

Had a wonderful stay at Pietre Nere Resort. Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, the hotel was in top shape and had a wonderful Spa. Standard room was not overly spacious, but well worth the money, clean and excellent airconditioning. Oh, and a large bed.

Breakfast was extensive and sicilian, so expect cannoli's, more sweet things than savoury things but all very fresh (oh the ricotta). Italian coffee freshly made at the spot (no machines!!).Oh, and bubbles....

Easy to reach by car (use a car, it is in 'the middle of nowhere' but close to Modica), very quiet unless there is a wedding/party.

bellissimo resort

Dovevo essere cliente di questo meraviglioso resort lo scorso anno, ma un incidente me lo ha impedito.
Sono tornata quest'anno con mio marito e devo dire che è stata un'esperienza ben oltre le aspettative.
Apparentemente la struttura è un po' isolata, ma é comunque a 5 minuti d'auto dalla splendida Modica ed a 20 minuti dai luoghi più belli del Sud della Sicilia.
Il resort è bellissimo e molto curato, spettacolati gli interni e la piscina.
Camere molto spaziose e letto matrimoniale a tre piazze.
La colazione poi è abbondantissima e curatissima e di altissima qualità; non manca nulla, compresi i cannolini siciliani freschi da farcire sul momento con la ricotta o il prosecco per un brindisi mattiniero (mai trovato in nessun hotel).
Gentilissimo e fin troppo disponibile il personale.
Da non perdere anche il ristorante!Insomma: da provare assolutamente!

Hôtel parfait, à découvrir

Cet hôtel, placé sur les hauteurs de Modica, mérite d'être connu. Un style empli d'esthétisme, un service parfait, une propreté sans reproche, un accueil personnalisé. Je n'ai rien trouvé à redire.
