This is a beautiful property in the countryside. The staff are all very personable and customer service oriented. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious with incredible baked goods. We had two dinners at the restaurant and they were both fabulous. The pool was a lovely place to relax. We were able to make several day trips from here and found it to be a good base.

What an amazing place

We had the most peaceful and enjoyable stay at Torre Don Virgilio. The resort is beautifully maintained, with stunning grounds that feature some of the most amazing olive trees we’ve ever seen. The atmosphere was serene and perfect for relaxation. The food was absolutely excellent, offering authentic flavors with a touch of elegance. The service was top-notch, and the staff made sure every detail was perfect. Our room was impeccable—clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. Overall, we highly recommend Torre Don Virgilio to anyone looking for a perfect getaway.

Lovely retreat between Noto and Modica

Beautiful property, only 15 minutes to Modica. We had a room facing the pool and gardens. Pool and the room was very clean. Quiet location. The staff were helpful and friendly. We stayed for 3 nights and ate in the restaurant every night as the food was so good. Deconstructed cannoli will be remembered forever. If we return to Sicily would definitely stay here again.

We had a lovely stay at this apartment. The property and rooms were beautiful. We ate in the restaurant one of the nights and the the dinner and the breakfasts were delicious.
I liked the country location and was easy to get around to Ragusa, Modica and Scicly by car.
I found the bed was not the most comfortable and the toilet paper was the worst on our three week trip in Sicily and Italy. Otherwise was a nice luxury.

Lovely rural location central to surrounding communities and attractions. We were greeted upon check-in with local information and a glass of iced tea. Our room was quiet and comfortable. The staff was very helpful, attentive and professional throughout our stay. The restaurant was excellent for both breakfast and dinner including some of the best seafood we had in the area; sauces were perfectly balanced and fish perfectly cooked. The desserts were delicious, too!

Lovely country inn. Nice room and decent breakfast. The only criticism we have is we were grossly overcharged for the laundry service. When we asked twice for an estimate, we were informed the cost would be reasonable. While we expected there would be a premium, we were gobsmacked when we got the bill. It is for this reason we cannot give this place a high rating.

We loved this hotel and it was by far the best place we stayed on our trip. The historic building and grounds are beautiful. Breakfast is served in a lovely courtyard and we got wonderful recommendations on day trips from the staff. It was so peaceful that it was hard to leave.

Beautiful country side setting, recently renovated farm, everything clean, spotless , manicured lawns, old olive and pomegranate trees, palms ,flowers. Very tranquil . Couple of excellent local Italian restorants/pizzerias nearby (3 km). Very close to Modica. We spent lots of time just relaxing by the pool

Staff is excellent

Giuseppe, the Front Office Manager, is very good and helpful. He touched base with us before our arrival and made us feel very welcome. The owner has been also friendly and he showed us around on the first night there.
We loved the atmosphere and the place was better than what we thought.
We would highly recommend this place and we will def come back.

Good place to stay, but.....

Lovely place to stay, even if finding it can be 'interesting'. A tip, if using a navigation device, is rather than inputting Via Rocciola Scrofani 260 as the street is to substitute Strada Provincial for Via. Only bad thing about the Hotel is that it doesn't do evening meals, so it is necessary to go out for evening meals. Nearest restaurants are about 6 minutes drive away. Great breakfasts and pool . Wifi can be a bit poor

Quiet, rural, lovely pool area

This hotel is remote and isolated but each restaurant we visited locally was really busy. Modica is only 20 minutes drive an the old town is interedting and has an authentic feel. I was a bit disappointed that the hotel restaurant was not open as we had to drive each evening. There was no apparent service at the bar either although you could always find someone at reception. Our room was as expected and characterful. We had a tiny balcony on the ramparts of this interesting old building. Lovely courtyard, olive grove garden and pretty pool. We had a comfortable stay and good breakfast, but the hotel felt partly closed for the season somehow. Our WC was not quite 'hotel' clean and the pool needed a bit of filtering, but there was work going on in the gardens. Good restaurant recommendations from reception and overall our stay was comfortable.

Really good agriturismo in a rural setting.

It is very rural and sat nav equipped to find it. About 20 mns from Modica. Converted country house. Our rooms were in the stable block and were very clean and comfortable, The pool area is lovely and there were no problems getting sun beds. The breakfast was freshly prepared each morning (buffet style) but the emphasis is (common to all Sicily) on the 'sweet'. The lady who overseees breakfast was delightful and really accommodated my husbands coeliac condition and we give her extra brownie points. Overall, a lovely stay, very peaceful indeed but a little too remote for us, that said, with our car we got to Noto, Ragusa and Modica which were all fabulous

We couldn't find the hotel initially but when we did(with help from a very friendly motorcyclist in Modica and Frederica the hotel receptionist each taking and meeting us half way) it was worth the detour. This is a lovely Agroturismo .
The staff were friendly and helpful.The homemade cakes,yogurt and marmalade at breakfast were delicious.The hotel is in lovely open countryside which did mean a car trip for dinner but we went to the
nearby restaraunts recommended by the lovely receptionist Frederica and \"Al Monaco\" was brilliant.Try
their Fish speciality Menu its fantastic value and delicious.The pool and gardens are great and a godsend in the heat.Their restaurant wasn't opened for dinner when we were there sadly as we would love to have tried it. A car is a must here.

Very pleasant rural base for the Baroque towns

This beautifully-converted old farm is an ideal base to explore the nearby UNESCO World Heritage Baroque towns of south-eastern Sicily. Initially it can be a little difficult to find as neither signposting nor GPS are particularly helpful - try to see it on a map before you set off! Once there, however, the welcome from the staff was genuine and the accommodation of a high quality. There is a large swimming pool and a nice garden around it. Breakfast was very good and drinks/snacks are served to order but you'll need to eat out in local recommended restaurants for main meals (a car is essential to stay here).

Great hotel in central location

Torre Don Virgillio is a beautifully restored stone Masseria from 600AD. This is as authentic as it gets! Centrally located between Modica, Ragusa, Scicli and the southern coast for short drives to each.

It's located on the countryside, in the middle of nowhere, but still close enough to go out for dinner in Modica or Ragusa, 2 beautiful towns.
Very friendly staff, especially the lady who serves breakfast!

Wish we could have stayed longer at this one! There for one night but they took care of us. We were up very early in the morning for our flight into Trapani, Sicily. We then drove to Agrigento for a quick visit of the Valley of Temples. We pressed on to Modica. We were to arrive at the hotel by 8:14 according to our sat nav. We took wrong exit and it was a while before we were back on track. After several calls to the front desk in order to find the hotel, the young man offered to come meet us and bring us in. We agreed. It was dark, we were tired, hungry and just wanted to go to bed! It was so very nice of him to do this for us. We thank him again and so very sorry we didn't get his name! Once there, he asked if we were hungry and wanted something to eat? Yes. About 10 pm we went over to the restaurant. This young man who waited on us was also very nice. We had a wonderful dinner and the food was excellent. The wine, even better! So good, we ordered another bottle and took it back to the room with us. Went to bed. Early next morning we awoke to shower but no shower. They did have a jacuzzi bath tub. We're shower people but the bath was nice for something different. Off to breakfast. Also very good. Especially loved the watermelon. We can't say enough about this place except we wish we had more time there to just chill. It was all revamped in 2007 and they did a wonderful job. Very clean, fresh but still had the old world charm! I hope we get to come back to Torre Don someday

Wunderschönes ländliches Hotel, hervorragendes Essen und sehr nettes Personal! Guter Ausgangspunkt um den Süden Siziliens zu erkunden. Mietwagen wird empfohlen da sehr ländlich gelegen. Leider sehr begrenzte Auswahl an Restaurants o. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in der Nähe. Mind. 15 Minuten Fahrzeit. Uns hat leider nur eine Kleinigkeit gefehlt… ein Sonnenschirm auf der Terrasse 😅 (vielleicht auch am Pool.. dort gab es Doppelliegen mit Stoffdach). Aber alles in allem würde ich dem Hotel ein sehr gut geben!

Hotel bellissimo in aperta campagna. Silenzio e tranquillità. Personale gentilissimo, ottima colazione, piscina spettacolare in mezzo agli ulivi. Per raggiungere la struttura è necessario l'uso del navigatore perché assai isolata nella campagna, con strade prive di segnaletica... Ma giunti sul posto... vale assolutamente il viaggio!

Magnifique séjour de lune de miel

Nous avons passé un magnifique séjour dans cet hôtel de charme pour notre lune de miel.

L’accueil y est très chaleureux, le personnel est très aimable et sympathique, notamment Antonio le maître d’hôtel, aux petits soins avec nous tout au long du séjour.

Les petits déjeuners sont succulents comprenant des produits locaux et pour tous les goûts (sucré, salé..). Le restaurant propose d’excellents mets ; nous recommandons les fabuleuses pizzas du chef !

La piscine est très chouette, au calme, et les aménagements autour bien agréables notamment pour profiter d’une sieste sous les oliviers.

L’hôtel est également bien situé et permet de rayonner au sein de la magnifique Sicile Baroque !

Antica masseria perfettamente restaurata. Posto veramente incantevole nel pieno della campagna siciliana in una zona sempre ventilata in cui anche durante le giornate afose non fa caldo complice anche una bellissima piscina. La posizione è molto comoda per visitare tutto il Val di Noto perché è a mezzora di distanza dalle principali attrazioni.
Le camere sono caratterizzate da un assoluto silenzio e da una pulizia perfetta.
Staff gentilissimo.
Ampio parcheggio gratuito a disposizione.
Lo consiglio vivamente a chi ha intenzione di trascorrere una vacanza rilassante immerso nella natura dell'isola.

Location tranquilla in mezzo agli ulivi.

Posto tranquillo in mezzo agli ulivi, molta pace e silenzio. Il soggiorno è stato soddisfacente. Unica scomodità è stato avere il bagno al piano di sotto, e per andare a cena fuori bisogna per forza usare l'auto e cercare un posto nei dintorni (almeno 5 km).

Un'oasi di relax a pochi minuti dal centro

Atmosfera bellissima, da vera cartolina, un tuffo nel passato con tutta la struttura resa efficiente ed adeguata ai tempi di oggi nei servizi. Ottime le condizioni del country hotel, giardino ben curato, sala colazioni con pietra a vista anche all'interno, cosi come anche per le camere, molto buona la qualità della colazione, ampissima scelta di prodotti. Una vera oasi di pace nel cuore della campagna modicana ma a pochissimi minuti dal centro, l'ideale per rilassarsi e per spostarsi in qualsiasi direzione. Parcheggio comodissimo per le auto, camera davvero molto ampia, climatizzazione fan coil, ecc.. La piscina completa l'offerta e sicuramente nel periodo estivo rende ancora piu' piacevole il soggiorno. Davvero cordiale tutto il personale presente, il posto vale assolutamente di essere ben valutato per un soggiorno a Modica.

Dit hotel overtreft alles wat we op Sicilië hebben gezien. Deze verbouwde boerderij met heel oude muren en restanten uit het verleden, ligt erg rustig, dicht bij zee en bij bezienswaardige steden met leuke restaurantjes. De kamer met uitzicht op het zwembad en eigen ligstoelen voor de deur was zeer comfortabel. Het ontbijt was goed, evenals het diner in het restaurant, met weliswaar een beperkte keuze.
Het personeel was zeer vriendelijk.
