Lovely city, lovely hotel!!

Although it wasn't the easiest finding this hotel outside of the limited zone area, otherwise, the stay was perfection. The room was lovely and the staff was friendly and professional. Our breakfast in the morning was delicious and you couldn't beat the view from the terrace. Breathtaking! Would stay here again....without a doubt.

Location of this property was perfect. We stayed here for 2 nights because we did day trips to Siracusa/Ortgia, Noto, Modica, Marzamemi.
The area of Ragusa Ibla is an authentic Italian village with the beautiful piazzas many choices for dinner and gelato. Just walking in and out of the narrow streets felt like a dream. We enjoyed our evenings in Ragusa Ibla and look forward to returning.

Easy parking, convenient to access city, great shower, great bed, great gardens, great breakfast. Very eco conscious, so when you leave the room, everything powers off but air conditioning comes on strong upon start up. May wish to ask for spare key to charge your stuff when you leave but not a big deal. Super place to stay. Ragusa is also really interesting spot.

They are top notch. I would consider it a totally 5-star hotel. Breakfast crew are so lovely, the front desk are spectacular , and the cleaning lady is a total hero. It’s spotless clean and meticulously decorated.

Comfortable hotel in a GREAT location

We stayed here for two nights in a standard garden room. While the furnishings lacked charm, the room was extremely comfortable for the two of us. Great bed and quality linens. Excellent AC. Quiet surroundings. Generous breakfast. Close to outstanding restaurants. We were able to walk everywhere from here. Would definitely recommend.

On first appearances all seemed nice, but the hotel lacked any character and was rather soul less. The room was clean and tidy but dull. Bathroom was small and lacked anywhere to put anything.
There was no sitting area anywhere in the hotel and the lack of staff except in reception, gave it a rather impersonal and empty feel.
Staff at breakfast were unfriendly and seemed disinterested in the guests.
All rather underwhelming in the end.

Worth Every Penny!

Every staff member was friendly and extremely helpful! Although we had a hard time finding the hotel in the dark, once we had directions from the staff we made it to this incredible hotel built into the cliff. They also arranged a ride for us from Ragusa to Pozzallo where we were departing Sicily by boat to Malta. In addition to the amazing staff, the breakfast was superb and the fifth floor exit to explore the city centre made for a delightful trip!

I liked that it is dug into the side of Ragusa Ibla with rooms stacked vertically from the road up to the old town and they on the 5th floor you can exit to the back streets.
Parking was okay… I think would have not been so easy at a busier time of the year.
The exterior is welcoming as was the person at reception. Not all the people at
Reception knew the answers to questions but generally they were quick to respond which we appreciated.
The cleanliness of the room was okay.. mirrors could have done with some cleaning and there were quite a few scuffs on the white wall in several areas which surprised me. This felt in some ways more like a 3 star hotel than a 4. The central temperature was air co sitting so we called and asked to have the heat turned on. They promptly came with a small stand alone heater.
Breakfast was plentiful and served in a sunny room or on the patio.. nice to be able to do that in November. The staff at the dining area were okay. The eggs were cold.. I hate cold eggs.

Overall, we liked the hotel and its proximity to the center of Ragusa. The staff was wonderful and helped us arrange a visit to an olive oil mill, something that we had trouble finding on our own. Good variety of choices at the breakfast buffet. Great place to stay.

Do NOT use maps-no access. The directions for car access and parking should be clearly stated and outlined. It took us a long time to find and access and no one available by phone. Just call ahead for info- very important. Now that we are here- understand the situation. But honestly, I read reviews about this problem but difficult to actually understand until experienced. But, an adventure! Hotel did not send us a message for anrrival annd parking instructions until after we arrived. That did not help our frustration. Also, it’s limited in amenities- more like a BnB. No coffee in room. But, fine for one night stay. Perfect location to enjoy Ragusa Ibla.

My go-to place in Ragusa Ibla.

This is the 2nd time I stayed at this hotel. This time I stayed in the annex. The room is very well appointed, cleverly hewn out in a rock face. I had a little secluded patio to myselfAs before the staff on reception were brilliant. Sofia deserves special mention, so friendly and thoroughly professional and attentive. Likewise Francesco both on arrival and at breakfast next morning. The breakfast is outstanding. Well done to the team at San Giorgio. Ottimo.

The hotel is an experience, beautiful view. However when remember booking the room with two beds, the hotel at check in, the room I booked is the king size bed. Also a bottle of wine was checked with the room booking, we found out at check out that it is not. The money is not the issue, but it is confusing/embarrasing to find out that it is not complimentary, the reception was helpful, apply $10 spa fee that we did not use and we pay 2 Euro to settled our hotel bill.

San Giorgio Palace has a spectacular location atop Ragusa. When you exit the hotel on floor 5, it's just a few flights of stairs up to the main square in Ragusa with all its sights, shops and restaurants.

The staff was very accommodating at check in and departure. The breakfast was great.

The only difficulty we encountered was not the hotel's doing but worth mentioning. Apple and Google maps both brought us the upper level of the hotel which required meticulous navigation on tiny streets to reach, only to discover we should have been three stories below on a relatively wide street. Map carefully!

This is an excellent hotel but not easily located when driving. The roadside access is easy but the hotel entrance not very visible. DO NOT USE Google maps to locate the hotel - it will lead you to an entrance in the old town with a very, very narrow one way, residents only road. The hotel main entrance is from the main road below the old town. The hotel is not permitted to have a more visible sign so the roadside entrance can be missed. It's a very good hotel.

Very good breakfast, with panoramic view over the valley. Our bedroom was a little austere for our taste. €15 taxi fare to reach the bus station.

We visited this property in 2014 when only eight rooms were available on a bed and breakfast option. There are now 35 rooms and there has been improvements ie a garden area. The reception staff were very helpful. We particularly like the lift service, which means the exit at top of property is close to Ragusa centre.

The only place to stay in Ragusa!

The hotel was a fantastic find and if we go back to the city this is the only place that I would ever consider staying at. When checking in, it was a coincidence that it was the St of the city's weekend celebration. As such the roads were closed but the hotel reached out well before to let me know, where to park, how to find the hotel and met us at the door. From there, they told us the schedule of events so that we could be part of it while we were checking in. The room was in fantastic condition and the view was amazing. Staying in a lot of hotels, this had the best water pressure with a rainbar shower which is fantastic after a day of walking. The hotel has access to the main streets to explore around the area and the main plaza was only a 5min walk with lots of places to eat. I couldnt recommend this place enough!

The place is totally modernized and very comfortable. The location is very center and convenient to go to dome and restaurants. The view is great. The breakfast time is from 7 to 10 am. We went there shortly after 9am, the beacon and egg was no more. The breakfast selection is limited and there was a staff to scope the food. She gave very little for each item we asked.

The highlight of my stay was the super friendly and helpful staff. All of them that I dealt with were very kind and would go out of their way to help. This also happened to other guests I saw. Some of them seem to have multiple duties, e.g. morning in the restaurant and something else in the afternoon. The location is perfect for the old town. The parking could be a challenge during peak periods.

If you are driving, please contact the Hotel to find out where to park. Parking is at the base of the hotel, it's free and there are lots of spots. We REALLY enjoyed our stay. We have been in Italy for a month and stayed at 22 different hotels from Venice to Sicily! San Giorgio Palace Hotel in Ragusa Ibla was the BEST! Best bed, best breakfast, best service, best location! The room was 5star, clean and comfortable! Located in a beautiful setting we were a short walk to everywhere. The host was the best! He was very knowledgeable, personable and helped us with restaurants, historic landmarks, bus routes to the new town and way more. He was the best. My wife and I highly recommend this hotel. There were NO downsides or negatives about San Giorgio Palace Hotel!

Great location. Interesting hotel as you need park on the street, walk up a ramp, through a tunnel and get to the reception on 3rd floor, I think it is. Good checkin although I wanted a room with a park view we received a larger room on the courtyard which was fine. Best part is the elevator to the town which saves you mega steps upward. The town is lovely. The hotel is a great place to stay although we got lucky with parking so not sure what others need to do. Highly recommend.

Disappointed with our welcome & the bed in particular. The hostess greeting us was competent but couldn’t be called welcoming. We had some difficulty with the AC which she explained but we were left feeling inadequate.
Unfortunately, the bed was the most uncomfortable we’ve slept on!! It was like a brick! I was awake for 3 hours and awoke to a very painful back. My daughter woke with the same. Fortunately, at breakfast we were greeted by the manager who was very concerned. He offered us an upgrade, as our room had recently had the mattress replaced. As we weren’t not staying another night, he did all he could to alleviate our disappointment, offering an upgrade in future & assuring us that our comfort mattered. This was much appreciated & we would try the hotel again.

the room was between the rock and had no window, just the one at the door of the room, it smelled damp, I felt locked up and away from the rest of the hotel rooms, very regular breakfast to be in Italy, choose another hotel with a view, On the website they said that nice view from the room and we went into a hole. Had problems finding the property as it is not on the street level and there were no signs showing directions. There is a parking area just left of the hotel where you can leave your car. Did not find out until later that there is a ground-level entrance with an elevator to the front desk level.

Once there we were promptly checked in and given a complimentary bottle of wine for booking through Expedia. Our room was clean, the usual amenities and modern. Had a minor problem with the Air Conditioning which I reported when we checked out as we were only there one day.

Breakfast area was large with a good assortment available. We chose to eat outside on the patio area which made for a pleasant meal.

If in the area again I would stay here without hesitation.

Wonderful location. The hotel is entered through a tunnel carved into a cliff and is quite beautiful. We had gorgeous views from our room. Breakfast was on the terrace also overlooking the valley. We were given a complimentary room upgrade and they parked our car for us in their lot.

Dont stay in “comfort” rooms

Some “comfort” rooms are outside the hotels gate and basically on the main road, with no windows and a great deal of humidity. Otherwise the hotel is recently refurbished with good finishings. The receptionist was not particularly kind.

Exceptional customer service amazing location

Ivan and staff provided exceptional customer service and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The room was clean and well appointed. Beautiful rooftop breakfast area and location is close to the Centre of the town.

A real gem in Ragusa. Room was lovely, breakfast choice was good. Hotel really convenient for exploring Ragusa which is a beautiful mountain top town. Not recommended for people who can't manage steps

This is a lovely hotel very conveniently located in the charming town of Ragusa. The room was small but well equipped and modern. The hotel has a very unique look as it is built into the hill. Breakfast was delicious, abundant and beautifully situated. The only problem
We encountered was confusion as to the hotels location. It was unclear to us as to the exact location of the hotel. The GPS was not helpful. We were grateful that the hotel had parking but it was a very small lot that required a fair amount of maneuvering. The staff was exceedingly helpful to us when we finally arrived offering to help us park.
