The staff are just wonderful, particularly Wellie, who spent 45 minutes at least getting our tv connected. The rooms are very clean and spacious, the king-sized beds and bedding are really comfortable, and the kitchen is a great bonus for us. I’ve stayed here twice, once alone and once with my kids, and it’s lovely for both. My son and I spent an hour in the basement games room in the morning while my teen slept in, and we played air hockey and foozball and just enjoyed the couches and large space. Lots of good restaurants and the Rideau Centre super nearby for food. We love the Arlo!

Second floor rooms 204 have zero view, theres a fence blocking the rooftop HVAC so daylight never really fills the room. Pretty dready. Also, no cable TV, just ROKU so you cant watch real time news or sports.

The room was modern and perfect for our quick stay. The food was also decent, but we were hoping for at least a protein like eggs or cheese in the breakfast selection. Overall, our stay was fantastic, and we got a deal at an affordable price. We will surely recommend this place to our friends who wants a quick and accessible tour in Downtown, Ottawa.

Lobby, breakfast area, and gym appeared very new and clean. The rooms were also very clean, but it seemed like some appliances had been through some use. Not a problem though, everything still functioned well. In the kitchen portion of the room, dishwasher pods, sponges, and soap are provided. Basic utensils (and more) are also provided. Overall, this place was a great value. Cheaper than other hotels in the area but very nice.

We booked a room for two nights indicating clearly that there would be two people staying. We were given a room with only one chair and enough coffee for one person. There were no drawers to put our things and only a standing rack in the corner big enough for two winter coats and two sweaters. There was no direct line to the reception. There was no way to even leave a suitcase open somewhere as there was no space to circulate.
There were no privacy curtains. If you wanted to change, you had to close the blinds and turn on the lights. At night, it was impossible to sleep due to some alarm type device that shone blue light through the room. The heater made so much noise, we actually thought that there was an animal trapped in the walls. If we wanted to speak to them we had to make a long distance call from our out of town phone. No room service for three days. All this, we were willing to ignore. What did not go over at all was being woken up at 4 am on the first night to the odour of marijuana coming from an adjacent room. The odour was so strong it woke us up. It happened again the next morning when we went to breakfast. We spoke to the people at reception who didn’t do anything about it despite us telling them to go up and check (since it was still going on). We had the same experience the following night despite our complaints. As we asked for a refund, we were told by the person at the front desk that they would talk to their manager all the while printing out our receipt

Where they could do much better is the continental breakfast - it was not well thought out in terms of guests with any dietary restrictions:
Available were one type of muffin - chocolate,
fruit turnovers also 1 type only,
There were no cereals, toast or bagels as options.
There were a few low quality yoghurt options and a few bananas, apples and oranges.

We needed a place overnight since our heater broke at -38 in the late afternoon. We were very happy how fast we and affordable we could get a room. It was really clean and didn't need to worry about anything is the 1 bedroom suite we got. The staff was really friendly and the place was very nice all together.

Arlo had just reopened under Best Western when we stayed. We were in town for a funeral but we were also walking distance to Winterlude, the canal and any other amenity or activity we could want.

We were upgraded to a beautiful suite at their suggestion, the gracious hotel manager even took our bags up to our room with us. Rooms are well appointed, stylish, clean. Huge games room in the basement that we didn’t use but checked out. Would definitely come back with our kids.

Grab and go breakfast, staff always smiling, great music playing every time we came in and out. Cannot recommend enough. Just the upgrade the old Sonder needed. Thank you Arlo! We will be back.

The staff on the reception desk were very friendly. The room had a small kitchen area which we found useful just to have a light breakfast there before going out for the day. There was a quiet room near the lobby we could use if wanted and we sat there while waiting for our Uber to take us to the airport. We would stay there again if ever we were back in Ottawa.

The staff were excellent!! My issues are other things. The room was mostly clean, just some crumbs under the chairs and whatnot that got missed. The bed didn’t have a top sheet, it was just the bottom sheet and a duvet which is weird. The essentials bar didn’t have any feminine products either and when I asked at the front desk they couldn’t provide one either. The second elevator was also down the entire time I was there, and I got an email the day after I checked out saying it was down. Just a bit behind on the communication.

Great place to stay downtown Ottawa. I parked at the NCA which was surprisingly affordable. Walkable to all the sites, good shopping and restos nearby. Room was great but the second elevator was out of service. Had to walk down nine flights of stairs after not being able to get on two rides by. Not a big deal for me but not ideal. Still, recommend!

This is a great place to stay. Minutes of walking to Parliament Hill, Rideau Canal, National Art Gallery, and Byward Market. Tons of restaurants and parks. A very clean quiet hotel with friendly,helpful staff. The studio has all you need if you want to eat in. Lockers and public rooms available all day after you check out.

Property situated in good area, close to main attractions. The use of your mobile phone as a key was very helpful avoiding the need to memorise the pin. Room was spacious with all expected amenities. Our room was located on the second floor and next to a courtyard. It was rather noisy, but thankfully it settled and we were able to get some sleep. The tv was also not opposite the bed, but off to the right, which made viewing uncomfortable.

The only reason I marked it 3 star was the road noise from the either the balcony door or the wall mounted air con unit.
I would not recommend Albert street side rooms as there is a bus stop directly across the street. No electric buses so super noisy buses until early morning.
However, saying that, the location is great awesome walking distance to a lot of the dining and pubs. The bed was super comfortable

We absolutely loved the location of this Sonder property! We stayed here for 2 nights late September. We were within walking distance of most of the places we wanted to see. So a bit pricey! Just a few blocks from Parliament Hill, Rideau Canal, Confederation Park, museums etc. there are so many places to eat nearby that it was difficult o choose.
The hotel itself was nice enough. Rooms are not overly large but enough space for the 2 of us. We were traveling with another couple and their room was overlooking the street and quite noisy in the morning (not the hotel’s fault!) we were on the back side looking into office windows. At first I was disappointed then realized I was happy to sacrifice the view for the quiet! Hardly noticed anyone else was in the building.
There is a roomy ‘quiet room’ right inside the main doors that was great when needing to get out of the bustle.
Our room had a small kitchenette with fridge, range, microwave, coffee pot, tea kettle and stocked with all the dinnerware you’d need!
My only complaint(s) are that our shower curtain had some sort of pink/red smear on it (kinda eye level so gross) and the AC needed to run the whole time with fan on high to keep the room from getting too hot.
Overall we had a nice stay and I would recommend this property.

Liked that every room has a kitchenette. Was a nice surprised, but didnt plan for that option. Rooms were clean and modern.

Disappointed the beds are NOT a queen. They are all double beds!! This was misleading and uncomfortable.
Also be aware most rooms look into someone elses room. You have blackout blinds, but not privacy blinds. So theyre either closed and dark during the day, or looking over at someone else changing!

The room was really nice and the hotel was very quiet. It was nice to be able to stream our own Netflix account. The bed was comfortable and the front desk support was great! We parked in an outdoor parking on Metcalf and it was super close and not overly expensive and we could walk to everything we wanted to see.
