Honestly, despicable. Where do I begin…I had the un pleasure of staying three nights. I couldn’t even open my windows as I was face to face with another individual from all angles. My room was not cleaned or items refreshed once. The ‘heating’ blowing out of the wall air conditioning unit was so drying I developed nose bleeds by the second night. The shower was dirty with built up Calus on the shower head. I went to fill up my water bottle one evening at 9pm from the only source of filtered water (in the gym) to find the machine empty. When I approached the gues services the guy told me that he couldn’t fill it for me but that I could come back tomorrow. I needed water so he said I could buy a bottle of water from them. Also, the bed clothes are worse than an hospital, felt like a picnic table napkin….anyway, the location is pretty central. That about sums up the only positive points about the place. The all inclusive breakfast is a overhype. Recommendation: skip!

The hotel is in a great location. My room in the 12 floor was spacious, bright and beautifully decorated.

My room was quiet, and my bed was comfortable. The location was very convenient for the number of places I wish to visit. There were a number of restaurants and grocery stores quite close by.

The gym has basic equipment, good for the purpose. Rooms were very clean with good amenities. You can virtually cook in your room if you choose to. The front desk guys were super friendly. I had a problem with the TV and they quickly changed the room for me. Breakfast was equally good.
My only challenge is there's no telephones in the rooms so I had to always get down to the front desk for assistance and also that there's no onsite parking, even though there are paid parking lots around
On the whole I will rate this facility 9/10. You will not regret staying there

Breakfast was only a girl filling up Costco muffins and chocolate filled pasty. Yogurt and fruit. Very very basic. No eggs or warm food. Coffee machine only had hot chocolate or sweet French vanilla. They didn’t make any regular coffee. The coffee yearns were empty. So it’s like no breakfast included. More like snacks

The staff are just wonderful, particularly Wellie, who spent 45 minutes at least getting our tv connected. The rooms are very clean and spacious, the king-sized beds and bedding are really comfortable, and the kitchen is a great bonus for us. I’ve stayed here twice, once alone and once with my kids, and it’s lovely for both. My son and I spent an hour in the basement games room in the morning while my teen slept in, and we played air hockey and foozball and just enjoyed the couches and large space. Lots of good restaurants and the Rideau Centre super nearby for food. We love the Arlo!

Second floor rooms 204 have zero view, theres a fence blocking the rooftop HVAC so daylight never really fills the room. Pretty dready. Also, no cable TV, just ROKU so you cant watch real time news or sports.

Et aucune vérification du personnel pour vérifier l’état et le manque des aliments offerts. Aucun café dans les 3/4 cafetières . Les « cup » de crème pour le café pas bon
( lait caillé) . Malgré ce fait l’hôtel était très bien.

Lobby, breakfast area, and gym appeared very new and clean. The rooms were also very clean, but it seemed like some appliances had been through some use. Not a problem though, everything still functioned well. In the kitchen portion of the room, dishwasher pods, sponges, and soap are provided. Basic utensils (and more) are also provided. Overall, this place was a great value. Cheaper than other hotels in the area but very nice.

We booked a room for two nights indicating clearly that there would be two people staying. We were given a room with only one chair and enough coffee for one person. There were no drawers to put our things and only a standing rack in the corner big enough for two winter coats and two sweaters. There was no direct line to the reception. There was no way to even leave a suitcase open somewhere as there was no space to circulate.
There were no privacy curtains. If you wanted to change, you had to close the blinds and turn on the lights. At night, it was impossible to sleep due to some alarm type device that shone blue light through the room. The heater made so much noise, we actually thought that there was an animal trapped in the walls. If we wanted to speak to them we had to make a long distance call from our out of town phone. No room service for three days. All this, we were willing to ignore. What did not go over at all was being woken up at 4 am on the first night to the odour of marijuana coming from an adjacent room. The odour was so strong it woke us up. It happened again the next morning when we went to breakfast. We spoke to the people at reception who didn’t do anything about it despite us telling them to go up and check (since it was still going on). We had the same experience the following night despite our complaints. As we asked for a refund, we were told by the person at the front desk that they would talk to their manager all the while printing out our receipt

Where they could do much better is the continental breakfast - it was not well thought out in terms of guests with any dietary restrictions:
Available were one type of muffin - chocolate,
fruit turnovers also 1 type only,
There were no cereals, toast or bagels as options.
There were a few low quality yoghurt options and a few bananas, apples and oranges.

We needed a place overnight since our heater broke at -38 in the late afternoon. We were very happy how fast we and affordable we could get a room. It was really clean and didn't need to worry about anything is the 1 bedroom suite we got. The staff was really friendly and the place was very nice all together.

Arlo had just reopened under Best Western when we stayed. We were in town for a funeral but we were also walking distance to Winterlude, the canal and any other amenity or activity we could want.

We were upgraded to a beautiful suite at their suggestion, the gracious hotel manager even took our bags up to our room with us. Rooms are well appointed, stylish, clean. Huge games room in the basement that we didn’t use but checked out. Would definitely come back with our kids.

Grab and go breakfast, staff always smiling, great music playing every time we came in and out. Cannot recommend enough. Just the upgrade the old Sonder needed. Thank you Arlo! We will be back.

The staff on the reception desk were very friendly. The room had a small kitchen area which we found useful just to have a light breakfast there before going out for the day. There was a quiet room near the lobby we could use if wanted and we sat there while waiting for our Uber to take us to the airport. We would stay there again if ever we were back in Ottawa.
