The room was clean, large and well maintained. We were welcomed by a friendly lady (apologies i can not remember her name) even on our return in the evening we sat and spoke in the bar area. Great value for money and we would definitely return.

Very small hotel, good location but overpriced for the amenities and overall condition of the property. Staff were friendly but room was not tidied during my stay, so I had to clean my own mug to reuse it the following day. Far too many stairs to negotiate for anyone with walking difficulties.

Situated mere steps from Clacton Pier and the beautiful stretch of golden sand, the OYO Pier Hotel couldn’t be better placed. Whether you are looking to indulge in the amusements, take long walks along the promenade, or simply sit and watch the world go by, everything is within easy reach. The convenience of being so close to local attractions, shops, and restaurants makes the hotel an ideal choice for families, couples, and solo travellers alike.
The staff at reception welcomed me warmly, checking me in with efficiency and genuine friendliness.
My room was as per pictures on hotel website: large, airy, clean and with a small roof terrace. I was particularly impressed by the thoughtful touches: complimentary tea and coffee facilities, a smart TV with a wide array of channels, and speedy, reliable Wi-Fi that kept me connected throughout my stay. The ensuite bathroom was modern, spotlessly clean, and stocked with quality toiletries and fluffy towels, making the morning routine a pleasure.
Staying at the OYO Pier Hotel puts you at the centre of Clacton's vibrant social scene. Within moments, you can be trying your luck at the arcade, enjoying thrilling rides on the pier, or sampling ice cream as you stroll along the shore.
My time at the OYO Pier Hotel was a joy from start to finish. The combination of a prime location and comfortable room made for an unforgettable experience.

Really nice stay, internet was good, met Michelle the owner, nice lady, right where we needed to be,only one small complaint, and that was Becky, so really have to comment here, SHE WAS TO NICE, ha ha, a lovely sweet lady is Becky, she went out of her way to look after us, with parking etc. we really liked her, a credit to the hotel, thankyou Becky

Just wanted a night to visit family in the area.

Website says parking which was not actually available.

Note that after 3pm you can part on the sea front for 3 hours for free and is not restricted after 6pm so could leave overnight and get another 3 hours at 9am when starts again.

Welcome was warm and friendly.

Room was very small (Room 9) just bed and tiny bathroom.

As on own having a really small room was not an issue as was clean. The big issue was no blind in room and no privacy and light waking me up early. Would not stay again.

Took my partner for what was meant to be a relaxing night away. Paid 114 for a bridal suite but left about 10.30pm and went home stating i would appreciate a full refund as the noise was unbelievably loud leaving us unable to sleep. On checking in we were ahown to a room to be then told may not be the correct one. After taking our things back to the car we was called 30 mins later saying it was in fact the right room. A complete nightmare from start to finish...although staff were friendly!

I made this reservation in December of 2023. My family and I flew from the US (first time abroad for us all) and were three hours away from checking in when we were told our reservation was cancelled. I can’t begin to describe the disappointment and frustration.

The OYO Pier Hotel is a lovely little hotel right next to the sea front
The staff we interacted with were very friendly, pleasant, helpful and professional,
The room was amazing very high spec and uniquely individually name, very clean and well looked after
the only down side for me is it was advertised as parking available, something I always look for, but in fact there is only parking for 2 cars so I doubt any guest really get to use them, so I had to park around the corner in a public car park at my expense, also I could not see my car from the hotel and was very nervous about leaving my car there - also it was advertised as hairdryers are supplied with each room, but there was not one, much to my Wife's dismay, plus the area is very noisy for most of the night as local night clubs do not turn out until after 2am, if these three things do not concern you then this is a lovely hotel and highly recommended, although for me I will not stay there again because of car parking.

We booked the hotel for one night. The lady who welcomed us was very nice and showed us to our room's. The room was clean. It had a shower/toilet. Tea , coffee and TV. It was adequate for our stay. Parking is a bit hit and miss. A little bit of noise from the bar's across the road. All in all, it was okay.

Nostalgic seaside stay

My stay was good and the staff extremely accommodating. However, a storm front came through during my stay and being on the sea front. It was so loud in my room it felt like I was in a tent for most of the night. In the morning there where downed fences and significant storm debris on the beach. It may not seem a fair review as there's not much the owners can do about the weather but it significantly detracted from my stay and I left a night early due to the projected weather for the following night.

Great hotel, clean, friendly staff

I want to give this hotel a really good review because we had a lovely room with ensuite bathroom, the bed was very comfortable and everything was clean clean clean. We were even given a fan without having to ask. The owner/manager is a very sweet lady too.
However, the karaoke bar opposite the hotel is an abomination. It is noisy and karaoke is so bad it makes you think you are in hell.
Again, I cannot give a bad review of the hotel on the basis of something that the hotelier has no control over. If I were to go and stay there, I'd ask for a room overlooking the back of the hotel.

There was no Reception, so checking in was confusing to say the least. Checking out was even worse as there was no one to pass my key to and no key drop. It seems to be a place that is set up to cram as many in as possible during the summer months to make money, nothing else really. The room was small, but adequate as was the bathroom.

Unfortunately our room (with my six old son) was situated at the front of the hotel, there was a nightclub called 5th avenue over the road that had its door open all night and played loud music till 2am ... it was a nightmare .... also had to pay for breakfast

Becky and her son were so friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. The bar area is lovely and the room was great - everything smells fresh.
The location to the beach and restaurants is brilliant. We even managed to have one of the two parking spaces which was great.
Only downside was the room was so very hot but it was a very hot day and Becky did find us a fan.
Would definitely stay again.

Room was very small for a double - had water coming through the ceiling and when I complained the owner got very aggressive. Eventually agreed a refund then advised that I could and I needed to go through hotel.com - that was over 2 weeks ago and it’s still not sorted. Receptionist was very nice trying to help.

Thank you for a great stay at your hotel. The room was comfortable. It had tea and coffee making facilities. It is in a great location right next to the seafront which is what we wanted.

Staff were always polite and happy. If possible the mermaid room needed a bit of a repair as the towel rack was a bit wobbly and the blind cord was delicate to move. I really liked the decor and you can tell they really care about their hotel. A really lovely stay and I would definitely stay here again. Thank you :)

When arrived asked if we actually was at the right hotel then they was talking between themselves like they didnt have a room booked for us and then told us there was a error with the booking and our room is a family room instead
