The room was nothing like the modern pictures shown on the website. The amenities are old and laminated cabinets are chipped. Toilet, vanity sink, and the whole room requires updating. Air conditioning and tap water are hard to control.
Best thing about the place is location and drive in layout.

I had a mixed experience during my recent stay. There were some definite highlights, but also several areas that need attention.

The Positives:
• First Impressions: The hotel has great curb appeal with a very attractive brick exterior.
• Outstanding Service: The standout of my stay was the female receptionist with tattoos. She was incredibly helpful and professional—she truly deserves high praise for her exceptional service.
• Essentials: The bed and towels were perfectly fine and comfortable enough for the stay.

The Negatives:
• Room Layout & Privacy: The parking arrangement is a bit odd. My neighbor’s vehicle was parked directly in front of my room rather than their own, which felt like a bit of an invasion of privacy. It would make much more sense if guests parked in front of their own assigned rooms.
And an abandoned fridge was left outside.

Maintenance Issues: The room felt unfinished. The bathroom door was only half-painted, which looked quite strange. Additionally, most of the lights were not functioning properly, and the air conditioning remote was temperamental and difficult to use.

Missing Amenities: I was disappointed to find no hairdryer in the room. It would also be a significant improvement if some basic coffee-making facilities were provided.

No one at reception to check us in, rung the number on door and phone kept cutting out and then got cut off. Didnt get a friendly feeling. Room was huge but not really luxury as advertised, very outdated, sink in bathroom needs replacing. Both me and my husband woke up with sore throats and sneezing due to dust in rafters and on ledges in room. Shower okay if you are a short person.

Unfortunately no housekeeping was provided even though it was advertised as such....not nice to come back after along day out and rubbish and dirty dishes etc left in the room. The response was also very poor when we raised the issue. On a positive note, our room was clean and modern and well located with walking distance. Bed was comfy.

I booked two superior queen rooms because they were supposedly soundproofed - they weren’t. No staff anywhere - to check in ring a number. Did not see one member of staff at anytime. My room had no coat hangers, the wall lights did not work. When I rang to notify them they didn’t care. Also didn’t care about my daughter’s remote for split system which did not work. No offer to fix the problem. Also in her room no cover over light in ceiling fan - aesthetics aside - dangerous for children. Ceiling fans very dusty - couldn’t use. The traffic noise was horrendous. Rooms 7 and 8.
I could go on. Don’t put fittings in rooms if you are not going to maintain them and have them in working order. What’s the point people?

Unfortunately there was a a leak around the sink in the bathroom. However this was fixed. Also the fridge kept banging as it was defrosting and I had to turn it off the first night. Put it on a lower level but it’s still banged again the second night as ice dropped. Also I had a room with a car park out front however even though I didn’t have a car there was a car parked in front which I didn’t particularly like.
Otherwise the venue is very nice and centrally located with easy access to the shops in the train. Just a couple of little hiccups.

The staff were great, check in and out was the best I’ve ever experienced.
Netflix etc were on the telly but could not be utilised.
The fridge was not turned on and there was no milk for the coffee etc.
I’ve not stayed in a hotel for a while so that may be standard practice these days.
If so disregard.
I’d stay again.

If you'd like to live the faulty towers experience, then this may be the place for you. Issues from the get-go when trying to check in, wrong phone numbers/no one on site, incorrect room/s, getting the run-around, and other guests being assigned the same room.

When we booked, we also had insurance (XCover). When we try to claim they said that bushfires were exempt!!! What is the point of having insurance that you provide.

Fine place to stay, but overpriced for the quality. Will look elsewhere for my next trip.

Pros: great location, flexible check-in time, beautiful building. Nice TV, loved the spa bath, comfy bed.
Cons: kitchen/bathroom not stocked, towels had holes in them, fridge froze our food, bed wheels wouldn't lock so they rolled around. No food on-site as advertised, room not serviced during our stay. The room was also so sparsely furnished that the echoes made it quite difficult to talk.

The room was clean and tidy. You could tell a lot of money has fairly recently been spent on renovations, however things are failing; the biggest issue we had was difficulty flushing the toilet. It seems there’s a bit of an issue with the toilets. I hope they can make a warranty claim on these toilets, it’s not going to be a cheap exercise to replace them since they are the invisible cisterns behind a glass panel on the wall.

The refurbished look was great, comfy beds and set up.

Maybe soap and shampoo amenities would have been good for the room, as I had to head to the shops to get some, but otherwise fine.

A jug of water in the fridge would be good instead of having to use the bathroom tap to get a drink of water.

Otherwise, very good stay, maybe slightly cheaper in price as it's only one night, but most places in Castlemaine are like that. More rooms to be refurbished and a new look, so we have more options for rooms to stay.

The unit was spacious with a separate bedroom with two single beds and a small bath in addition to the shower. The location was ideal with just a short walk to the shopping area. Some maintenance is required. A door on the cupboard under the washbasin almost fell off when opened. Breakfast was supposed to be included, according to the website, but we were told on arrival that no breakfast was available.

Having stayed at this accommodation in the past and had a very enjoyable experience. Booked for 3 nights again which was to include breakfast. On arrival was told they didn't do breakfast anymore, asked for a refund for the breakfast I had paid for, but was ignored. 1st day we asked for the room to be cleaned as on our return in the afternoon nothing had been done. on the 2nd Day we gave. The bed was comfortable but the rest of the room was in a very poor state of needing repairs. Would never here again

Overall very good but had a few minor issues.

Accommodation only, no restaurant. Parking available next to your room.
The mattress on our bed was very comfortable. Fairly firm but wasn't to hard.
Couple of very minor things that made the difference between giving the room 4 stars instead of 5.
The liquid soap container next to the bathroom basin was empty. The small lower shelf on my side of the bed was loose and coming away from the wall. Aircon in main room was excellent, but it didn't really warm the bathroom much.

Breakfast included in my tariff was delivered 3 days out of 7resulting in extra cost for us. Complaints had to be made through children because the manager was never there. Our window leaked during heavy rain resulting in wet bedding . We didn’t even get clean towels to replace the ones on the window sill and floor to soak up the rain . Those wet towels were on the floor for 4 days without being checked or changed. A very poor experience and not even an apology for the inconvenience.

Such a wonderful motel to stay in for a quick trip to Castlemaine! It was so cozy, modern, clean and comfortable, and had all the necessities such as a kettle, hairdryer, soap, etc! Checking in and out was so easy, and the staff were so kind and welcoming to us. Breakfast was kindly handed to us the night before! Would really recommend this motel, it was perfectly in the centre of town

On arrival we were informed that our room had been “upgraded”. I suspect that they had overbooked and had to move us to a different room that was not prepared for guests. I would have preferred the room we booked because I specifically chose it for the bathroom which looked to be in a better state than some of the other rooms. They had left a ceiling fan on in the room (during the middle of winter) clearly to try to address the smell. It smelt like a dog had been in the room. The carpets had not been vacuumed and there were pieces of what I suspect looked like chewed dog toy. The surfaces had not been cleaned, there were crumbs on coffee table and the bathroom sink has a massive build up of black grime around the taps. We did not bother raising these issues because it was late in the evening and we knew there were no other rooms available. The electric blanket on the bed didn’t work and the room was very cold. The bedspread was not clean. Terrible. You should inspect the property and consider removing it from your site as it is very misleading.
