Probabably bad timing there were groups of guests who were making unbearable noise and were left to their noise inconviniencing other guests.

The dinner buffet was great, breakfast great as well. Sitting area not so great.

The rooms are set in more like a hostel feel style.

The stuff was cool.

Good Hotel with Great Staff

Stayed here on a short 3 day business trip to Lesotho. The staff were excellent. Welcoming, friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean, the beds were comfortable and the bathrooms looked to have been recently updated. It also looked as if the rooms had been recently updated with new floors, paint and lighting. The room furniture was a bit dated and worn and our room looked to have had some water damage as one part of the wall was pealing and cracking.

The food in the restaurant was good and the dining room staff was great.

We would recommend and stay here again.

Clean, comfortable room with two double beds for just myself as a solo traveler; a beautiful pool area. Fantastic buffet dinners and breakfasts — these were the real highlight and the big sellers for me!!! Excellent, flavorful, fresh food!

A real pleasure

Avani Lesotho Hotel and casino was a real pleasure during my week long stay. The restaurant never ceased to dissapoint with a superb buffet each evening and wonderful and changing variety for breakfast. Thanks to all the restaurant team, front desk and chambre maids.

Convenient location for business travellers

Initially there was a bit of a challenge as the aircons were not working and there was no hair dryers but once we enquired - we were moved to different rooms and were told that we needed to ask for the hair dryers on arrival - the turnaround time to resolve the query was excellent. The staff were both friendly and helpful.

Lesotho is one of the most beautiful countries in southern Africa, I did enjoy being in the country. I felt the hotel was 15 years behind the AVANI brand - it is a backward AVANI Hotel - the smell in the elevator, poor food, stentch of smoke in the corridor was terrible.

A lot can be done on maintenance

The bath tub was old and looked dirty although it was clean. The electricity was out for a couple of minutes without any information as to what was going on. The shower was not working. The TV reception was poor.

Dated Hotel in need of Update

Used to be a Sun Hotel, but changed last summer to an AVANI Hotel. The hotel is in need of an update and overall cleaning. The rooms were okay, but again, dated and worn. Public area looked as though they had be abandoned. Would choose another hotel next time I visit Maseru.

Hotel need total renovation and improvements on all fronts. But the staff are extremely nice and helpful within the bounds of their limited resources. Manager said that hotel will be closed and renovated in 2016. Long overdue!!! Internet pricing is atrocious; but that is a symptom of bad policies regarding Internet and connectivity in Lesotho in general and the lack of competition.

Better than camping

Old,tired,broken furniture,heater controls.
At least they have hot water in the moldy Showers.
No internet access.refusal of staff to issue any proof of payments,or receipts.
But better than camping,and good food at breakfast buffet.
A nice 2 star hotel.If you lower your expectations you will do fine.
The private b and b's are nicer.

Mediocre serve at Maseru Sun

Room was clean However the following faults were observed by majority who sated at Maseru as part of the Roof Bronze Qualifier event:-

No hot water during Friday evening
Waiter service was very slow
Food quality was mediocre
Attitude of Chefs were very poor when asked to replace gravy & sauces that had run out during evening meals. Manager had to be called to motivate service delivery.

Long established comfortable hotel

Some of the staff were on strike during my stay; a cheerful crowd with colourful umbrellas singing outside the hotel grounds. But the hotel seemed to be in good working order throughout my four days. Large comfortable bedrooms and good standard buffet meals. Some of the fixtures and fittings are a little tired but of good quality nonetheless. A lovely swimming pool and pleasant grounds. There's a gambling room with fruit machines which seems completely out of place, more what you'd expect to find on Brighton pier. Internet use is expensive - I spent about £7 per day. The service is a little hit and miss but amicable nonetheless and quite of the national character. I loved the place but it could irk those who have come across the border wanting something more efficient - but it suited me just fine.

Needs updating

The staff are really great and very friendly but the hotel is in need of major updating. The rooms are clean but in poor condition, especially the bathroom. The hotel grounds are nice and very secure. The pool area was over crowded on the Friday as the hotel has family day and non-guests can pay to come and use the facilities. I understand that the hotel may need to do this to make money but it just means that the guests can't enjoy the pool area on that day as there are just too many people around and it's impossible to find a place to sit out there. If you're in Maseru, it's not a bad option but it definitely isn't a hotel you'd want to stay at for more than a few days. If they renovated and gave it some TLC, it might be a really nice spot.

Everything about hotel terrible. Reception looked old, room was worse. Television did not work. Food terrible. Broken bottle on floor outside room. The staff looked after locals more than travelers. Local children ran riot by bar and in restuarant. Also loud music coming from 2 bedrooms which staff did nothing about. Also were told when booking we would get free wifi and dinner but hotel staff refused to honour this and when asked to speak with manager was told he was asleep.

Big rooms..that's about

I have stayed here for many many years on my visits to Lesotho. It is in desperate need of an overhaul. The wifi is weak and patchy to say the least. What is disappointing is that there are virtually no vegetarian options for meals so you pay for what you can't eat. The rooms are large and two big double beds The pool area is much better than its sister hotel Lesotho Sun

NO water!

Due to a water leak issue, we did not have water supply to our room (or for that matter, the whole hotel). The hotel advised that water supply would resume that evening, but that was not too be. We were not able to shower before we went to bed, and the following morning, we had to brush our teeth in the public toilets (which apparently came from a different water source)!
Made a complaint to the front duty manager, Sonia, who was understanding. She advised that in good faith, she would offer a partial refund for the inconvenience caused. At time of writing, the partial refund has not been received as yet.

Lots of room for improvement

One of two Sun hotels in Maseru, this one falls short on comfort. All areas of the hotel are looking very tired and are in need of refurbishment. The beds (surely one of the most important aspects of any hotel?) are uncomfortable, fitted with sheets that don't fit, and a rather old-looking blanket on top. So not great for a good night's sleep. The saving grace is perhaps the restaurant, which serves good food. But overall, this place needs some major refurbishment, new beds and bedding, furniture, heating units, and bathrooms.

市内中心部へも徒歩圏内で便利なロケーションです。従業員もとても親切でフレンドリーで、とても気持ちよくサービスを受けることができました。チェックアウトが早くて朝食が取れなかったので、事前にランチボックスを用意してくれてとても感激しました。

静かに過ごせました

目抜き通りから少し離れていて、静かに快適に過ごすことが出来ました。スタッフはみな親切・フレンドリーで、レストランも充実していました。建物は古い感じがしましたが、特に支障はありませんでした。お土産物屋さんなどがもっと充実するといいですね。

マセルにはあまりホテルがないため，仕方がないのかもしれませんが，コストパフォーマンスはよくありません。
ホテルの設備は古いです。冷蔵庫はありません。最低限の設備がある程度です。
また，スタッフの対応があまりよくありません。国民性かもしれませんが，笑顔がまったくありません。しかも，チェックアウトの前日に，翌日の空港へのシャトルサービスの予約をしたのに，当日になって，「聞いていない」「その時間にはシャトルサービスはない」と言われ，レセプションで30分以上，待たされることになりました。しかし，スタッフは悪びれる様子はなく，少し残念に感じました。
良いのは，立地です。市内の中心地にあるので，どこにでも行きやすく，ショッピングセンターが近くに2つあることも助かりました。
