Charming stay

It was a wonderful and charming hotel. The room was clean, the breakfast yummy, and the location can not be beat. The only problem was the motion sensor night light that lit up our whole room every time someone moved. We put a blanket over it but since it was built into the step into the bathroom it made it a bit tricky for anyone to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. For our family, we were all so tired it didn’t matter.

We were there in mid-Aug when temperatures were very high, and unfortunately our third floor room was stifling hot even with their rotating fan. We weren’t able to sleep that night. Wish they had a small portable A/C. Otherwise the rest of the stay was great.

Hotel Rüden is a delightful hotel. It is close to the train station, so it is very easy to get there. The hotel is very nicely updated but has kept its very old style of the beautiful building. We even took away some ideas for our own home remodel ;-). Beds and linens all very comfortable. While it was quite warm during the day, the lack of air conditioning did not bother us at night with the window open. Breakfast was very nice, and we enjoyed poaching our own eggs and eating some of the local cheese. It is about 45 mins walk the Rhein falls, and only a short walk to restaurants and other sites.

Loved the hotel, the town & the Falls

I spent 2 years in Switzerland 50 years ago. My wife had never been. She loved it. It was fun staying in a 500 year old building. The Feder Decke s were awesome. I had forgotten how good they feel to snuggle into. Got to get some online.
Jasmin was great. Give her a raise.

Great hotel with very good customer service and fabulous staff, who were very helpful particularly the evening staff Wednesday and Thursday night. Very good town about a 45 minute walk to Rhinefalls which was well worth the visit. Really close to station for train and bus, comfy room and really good breakfast

Friendly reception staff

We stayed one night in this hotel. We found the reception staff very helpful, ensuring that, while we arrived early, our luggage was securely stored until our return. This hotel was very bike friendly, providing safe garage accommodation for our bicycles. The room was clean and modern with a small kitchen area.

Wonderful hotel in terrific location.

My husband and I just spent 6 nights at the Hotel Sorell Ruden. The staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating. We arrived early from Brig and they generously allowed us to check in early. The lobby was warm and inviting. The room itself was small but clean. If I were to return I would definitely get a room with a window. The room was often stuffy and a bit claustrophobic.
Breakfast was excellent. They offered a nice selection and variety to start your day. The service was superior and it was by far the best of all of the hotels we stayed in during our 3 week trip through Switzerland.

I love the hotel, but this time I was disappointed about the cleaning of the room. The drain was plugged and dirty and when I made the hotel personell aware - nothing was done. They were very apologetic when I left.

“Good Hotel, Great Staff”

My wife and I have recently returned from a long weekend in Schaffhausen and stayed at the Sorell Hotel Rueden. Having a central hotel is ideal for the restaurants and shops and I don't think they come much better than this. The hotel lobby and rooms have a more traditional feel to them which gives the hotel a warm and appealing feel throughout. The open fire in the lobby is a great place to unwind and have a drink at the end of the day. As with any service industry it is the staff that makes the difference, and here at the Sorell they couldn't be more attentive and polite. A great place to stay and somewhere I will be visiting again.

The hotel has excellent location in a historic building. It is very close to train station so you might hear noise from the trains passing by from time to time as well as clock tower ringing every 15 minutes, even over night. Nevertheless, hotel is very well equipped, though seems like some renovation works are being done at the moment.

Great but more money than I usually pay

In the middle of a business trip I met a colleague coming from Zurich for a day in Schaffhausen. This hotel is a five minute walk from the train station and was attractive. Breakfast buffet was very good. In general Schaffausen was expensive but the overall quality of the hotel was good. Wifi was free, a big plus for me.

Great neighborhood

The hotel is walking distance from the train station and very close to the pedestrian walking sightseeing part of the town. The only problem with the hotel is it is built in a very old building. There are stones, wooden beans, metal sheets all combine together, making the rooms look rather odd and there are steps to enter the room, steps to the bathroom, very easy to trip over. On the other hand, the staff is helpful, location is great and the price is very reasonable.

Right in the city centre with gorgeous decor and a multilingual staff, this is a great base for the Falls of Rhine. No in house restaurant, but there are plenty of places to eat within a few minutes walk. Don't be put off by 'no window' rooms - they have a window but it opens on a light well and the room was still bright and airy. And there was a souvenir rubber duck to take home in the bathroom!

OK for a nights stay

Good location close to the railway station. Room very small with beams due to the age of the building - bathroom a good size but no heating apart from a towel warmer. Bed very soft. No coffee making facilities due to space but coffee is available from a Pod machine at CHF4.50 which is expensive. Breakfast satisfactory. WiFi free and good signal.

Superb hotel and excellent staff.

A fantastic hotel set in a wonderful location. The staff were superb and very helpful. The breakfast was delicious, the coffee was great and the croissants and cold meats were fresh and tasty.

I have rated the room a 4/5 only because it was a little smaller compared to other hotels I've stayed in. However, given that the building is old and in fitting with the town, this should not be taken as a negative at all. The actual room was modern, all the fittings and furnishings tidy and the exposed wooden beams were wonderful. The hotel is also not very large which is a plus as it is not too busy.

My overall experience was wonderful. I will definately stay here again.

I was in Schaffhausen for business and I was not happy when I then went to my room at night to discover that my bed wasn't been made and there were no blankets in the closet. I was very tired but had to go to the \"ghost\" reception to call an emergency number (reception closes at 9) and wait for the lady to drive back to the hotel! The hotel doesn't have parking and finding a spot in the city centre can be difficult and very expensive.

Hôtel avec beaucoup de cachet et de charme (j'ai adoré ma chambre sous le toit). Idéalement situé à 2 pas de la gare et à une dizaine de minutes des Chutes du Rhin en bus ou train. Calme et propre. Personnel très accueillant et serviable. Une adresse à retenir pour la prochaine fois!

Wir waren für eine Nacht in diesem Hotel zu Gast. Obwohl wir ein falsches Zimmer gebucht haben, hat die Rezeptionistin für uns eine sehr gute Lösung gefunden. Dafür nochmals vielen Dank. Die Lage ist ausgezeichnet. Das Hotel ist innen und aussen Denkmalgeschützt. Das Ambiente ist sehr schön. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder. Sehr nahe am Rheinfall. Mietvelos des Hotels sind gratis.

Bon hôtel très bien situé à quelques pas de vieille ville. Salle de bains top, grande chambre, dommage qu'il n'y avait pas de fenêtre mais grande baie vitrée avec les lumières était plutôt bien faite. Point négatif, l'isolation, on entendait un peu \"trop bien\" la femme de ménage qui passait l'aspirateur. A recommander sinon.

Wir hatten zunächst ein Zimmer ohne Fenster nach draußen. Nachdem die Klimaanlage nicht funktionierte, bekamen wir ein Zimmer ganz oben unter der Dachschräge, mit einem kleinen Fenster und Ausblick über die Stadt.
Das Frühstück findet morgens unten in der Eingangshalle statt, wo es ziemlich rummelig zugeht und das (sehr nette) Personal mit Wiederauffüllen, Abräumen usw nicht hinterherkommt.
Fahrräder können im Hinterhof abgestellt und angekettet werden.

朝食の給仕スタッフは気配りや対応が特に素晴らしかったです。
部屋も広く綺麗で新しかったです。
設備は全て整い快適に過ごすことができました。
朝食内容も新鮮で美味しいものばかりでした。
駅からもすぐ近くでシャウハウゼンの観光するには1番良い立地でした。
また絶対に泊まりたいホテルです。

Tolles Hotel modern ausgebaut in einem Altstadthaus. Stimmungsvolle Architektur, fantastische Lage. Eines unserer zwei Zimmer hatte allerdings kein Fenster, was in der Beschreibung nicht erwähnt war.

Das Zimmer war schön und stilvoll eingerichtet, auch das Bad war perfekt und der Blick über die Dächer von Schaffhausen traumhaft. Es war sehr ruhig. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und der Service sehr gut. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und würden wieder dort übernachten, wenn wir nach Schaffhausen kommen.

Très bon placement en cœur de vill, l hôtel est accueillant, propre . Nous avons eu une chambre sans fenêtre . Pour autant, il y en avait une qui donné sur un poster panorama et sur les charpentes. Pas gênant n soi au regard de la qualité du principe. Petit déjeuné copieux et garni avec un service irréprochable. Très bon séjour que je recommande.
