What can you say about a Holiday Inn they are all the same all around the world to there high stanards. As they say what you see is what you get. There is a brillant pub/restaurant no more than 150 pace away behind with a nice beer garden for food as well.

Good hotel but a couple of small issues.

5 stars for their reception staff although for the most part reception was only manned by one person so during busy times there was a long wait. Housekeeping let hotel down. Day 1 no housekeeping due to illness. Had to go to reception for clean towels etc. Compensated with a free drink which was good. Day 2, we were given hand towels instead of bath towels and full bin wasn’t emptied. Day 3, no bath mat left and empty tissue box not replaced. Other than that this is a pretty good hotel. Comfortable beds. Need more than one pillow though as they are quite flat. Tea and coffee making facilities. No fridge. Good size bathroom. Aircon didn’t work too well so slept with window open. Very quiet area so no issues with noise. Breakfast was basic but nice and fresh. Location is good. 5 minute walk to the centre. 10 mins to the train station. Only one lift though, so when checking out had to wait about 10 minutes for an empty lift. Lift goes to the top and works its way down. We were on level 1. Really needs two lifts.

There was no a/c as advertised. It didn’t blow cold air (I know this is common in Europe). Therefore we left the window open. However around 1am, our neighbor was smoking out her window which flowed into our room.

There isn’t a clear sign of getting to the hotel parking by car so we had to drive around the building. Bathroom sink was blocked. We called reception in the evening and been told they would send someone in 10 mins. Nobody turned up until we checked out the next day.

No A/C - Avoid in Summer

This hotel is a scam for the summer months. They say they have air conditioning but they only run it when they see fit. We visited in May when outside temperatures were around 30 C and the inside temperature was 28 C (!). It was unbearable.

When we first realized the A/C wasn't working (after waking up in a sweat), we called down to the front desk to see about getting a different room, only to be told the A/C wasn't \"on this time of year\". So we asked if we could open our SINGLE locked window and told \"no\". We were miserable and couldn't sleep at all the whole night. It was awful.

To make everything worse though, Hotels.com, of which I've been a member for almost 12 years, did absolutely nothing to resolve this. Not a thing. After waiting on hold for 45 minutes and speaking with two separate people, I was just told over and over how this wasn't Hotels.com's \"responsibility\". But, the fact of the matter is Hotels.com is clearly not vetting their hotels whatsoever, because we specifically filtered for hotels with A/C, which caused this one to come up - but, if Hotels.com bothered to actually vet with the hotels that their A/Cs are USABLE, they would have realized that this hotel has no right to list A/C as an ameninty.

The only saving grace of this situation was the kind frontdesk team, whom I do not fault for the failings of the hotel at which they work. The hotel itself and Hotels.com however, behaved atrociously and absolutely let me down.

Not so good this time

I stayed in 2015 at this hotel and everything was fine, but this time...... The staff from the hotel was very friendly, but the problem was with the room. I experience a noise thet can't be stopped from the AC all the night, and this was a nightmare for me. Secondly is about the breakfast. In this pandemic period the breakfast is a challenge for all. The boiled egg's was not good at all.

The location is ok, walkable to the main city area. On-site parking rate (per night) was fair and allowed for multiple entries/exits. Breakfast was only ok. Room comfort pretty ok. However, the design and layout of the toilet was terrible. It was tiny with an awkward door swinging position. The basin/mirror position was also awkward. The worst of all was the transparent acrylic piece sticking out of the wall that you can place your toothbrush, cups, etc, and the corners on the acrylic are not buffed/smoothened. I got a huge deep cut on my arm by the very sharp edge. Please be careful.

property was fine, the third bed in the room was not a bed. it was a pull out sofa bed in very poor shape, the hotel said they could do nothing about it. The Expedia listed the rate at$154.00 CAD a night. however I was charged almost $2000.00 for the sofa bed/3rd person. the agent on the told me it would be a bed. This is the 2nd time I've had a problem with Expedia that cost me $200.00. I will not use Expedia or Holiday Inn in the future. I would love hear back from Expedia.

Hotel room is OK - in need of an update but I think this is planned.
Biggest issue was the amount of mould in the shower seals - it was pretty bad.

Room was dirty, stains and marks all over the floor. Bathroom also not cleaned.
Wi-Fi was so slow emailing was impossible. Paid £5 per day for the premium, but that was still very slow. Parking was expensive and not listed on the expedia page. Free breakfast was covered in flies and made my miss a day of work due to becoming ill.

Shower had no water pressure and hardly any hot water.

The room was small and the carpet was dirty, however the staff was outstanding. The air wouldn't lower colder than 25 C. and they had a winter bed cover on the bed. The mattress was not very comfortable. The shower curtain was too short and caused water to go onto the bathroom floor.

Nice hotel close by the centre of town

Generally, I have had positive experience with Holiday Inn Express when booking twin rooms. Whereas with other Expedia bookings it is not always clear if you will get a twin room or a double.

Holiday is spacious and near all the key spots in Singen town. We easily found a restaurant nearby that suited our taste.

The breakfast was very good at the hotel and the parking was very convenient.

\"Free\" internet with a 1990' modem speed of 250k, making it unusable for all practical purposes except to slowly get text-based emails. A working internet connection is available for a fee so it is misleading to advertise free internet for something that is not effectively usable.
Otherwise the hotel is as one would expect although with a minimalist breakfast but a pleasant and professional staff.

Hotel let itself down on poor management of their car park. Only selected this hotel as it had an onsite car park however on our second day there a bus load of tourists had come in and the hotel had allowed the bus to park in the cr park as opposed to the bus parking bay which is available within the hotels grounds. We returned at 10pm tired from a full day out touring with a small child and spent almost 1 hour looking for a parking space which we only managed to find upon demanding the hotel be more courteous in assisting us and then having to park in their staff parking bays

Fair Price, pretty new hotel (modern and very well maintained), free breakfast (simple, but fair), parking lot (7,50 euros per day) and free WiFi.
Weaknesses:
Air conditioning doesn't work as a regular one (work like a heater during the winter, however we are not on winter time, so I was feeling very warm inside the room).
The bathroom was smelling bad.

Simple hotel in Singen

Modern but very basic hotel close to city center. Hotel has paid parking, free WLAN and you can get a drink at the bar but no other services are offered. For a light supper (a sandwich or so) the receptionist adviced me to a kebab place at town. Breakfast was fine, standard German variety and quality. My smallish room had a twin bed and a ready made sofabed leaving very limited floor space left.

The Holiday Express at Singen is a world away from \"Holiday Express\" in the UK. It was smart, comfortable, well equipped, well located, and very professional. I liked it a lot. Only drawback was that there was no evening meal available - but there were good pubs within a short staggering distance away. Breakfast was fine. I'd book it again.

Nice Hotel, nice clean rooms. What spoiled our stay was the hotel is located next to a concert/convention type center. The parking lot the hotel said we could use had no spaces reserved for guests. On our stay a concert was going on and we had to park almost a mile away in a city lot. We booked this hotel because it said on site parking.

Hotel was easy to find with GPS, adjacent to large pedestrian square and town hall. Parking was convenient. Hotel check in was easy and staff pleasant. Room was decent size and clean and beds comfortable. Very very good Greek restaurant nearby. Shower stall, no bathtub. Beware: bottle of water in room with welcome guest sign is NOT FREE. Have to pay for it at check out.

My family stayed there two nights. I have no idea but my family smelled something uncomfortable on the day we arrived and next day. On the leaving day, I didn't smell. I asked staff the cause of the smell but they didn't recognize. Not sure other customers felt the same or not. The cause of the smell might be a plant.
Due to boiler maintenance, we could not have hot water from room shower on the first day. After reset the boiler, it came back but took a long time. I expected staff to check if we could use all room showers with hot water after maintenance.

All staff were very friendly and good. They took my requests immediately and tried to fix the issues. Rooms were clean. overall, reasonable to stay.

After 21 years of traveling to Europe, I found a hotel with an ice machine. and vending maching. There is a large breakfast area with a very nice buffett. The hotel is 10 minutes (walking) from the train station and just on the fringe of the pedestrian shopping area. Nothing negative except that wifi is only available in the lobby. Town is located near the German border with Switzerland which makes it a really great value.

I stayed there as a single female with my dog for one night as part of a long weekend of travels through southern Germany.

I drove there and parked in the garage underneath the hotel. It was 10 euro to park, which I expected from earlier reviews. Compared to other hotels I've been in Europe that did not have any parking, this was a convenient parking location, so I can't complain about the cost in that context.

The hotel is located near the river with a path with a good view of the Hohentwiel extinct volcano. I got there in the late afternoon and did not get to explore as much as I would like, but it was a nice walk back there with my dog.

The hotel also was close (within a block) to several restaurants and a few blocks' walk to the pedestrian area with some shops. I did not think the pedestrian area was as interesting as some others in German towns, but it is there. There was a tiny McDonalds in the pedestrian zone.

The room was clean and comfortable, and quiet, even though it was near an elevator. It was designed in such as way that I did not hear the elevator much at all. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom and room were very clean.

The staff were pleasant and friendly, which is much more than I can say for some European hotels I have stayed at.

I would stay there longer for a chance to explore and hike around the area more next time.

Extremely satisfied to this hotel. We've been travelling for 3 weeks and this is the only hotel with airconditined in the room htat we booked. Beds are comfortable. Bathroom is clean and spacious and modernized. Free internet for people who don't have their laptop with. Buffet breakfast is great. Walking distance to the main city. Parking fee is reasonable. Employees are friendly and helpful.

Can't Wait To Go Back

My family and I absolutely loved this hotel. The service was excellent and this 2 star hotel, was better than some 4 star hotels I've stayed in. The hotel comes with free breakfast, which goes beyond coffee and donuts. Be advised that you'll have a smal additional fee for parking, but it's well worth it! We can't wait to go back.

I have no complaints, it's a great hotel. Less than 10 minute walk from the train station, right near the middle of the town. The breakfast buffet was complimentary and decent. Free wireless internet in the lobby, and plenty of places to sit to use that, that was great. Room condition was fine. I'd be happy to go back there.

We only stayed the one night but the rooms were fine, the hotel quiet & pleasant, the staff were smiling & helpful, & breakfast was great.
There's a surprising number of restaurants nearby & a fantastic castle on the hill behind the hotel, we would recommend a relaxing weekend here calling into the impressive Rheinfalls about 30 minutes away.

Pleased and highly recommended

The hotel and the parking provided was very good. The staff friendly and very helpful on the area, to visit and the places to eat. The rooms and decore were modern and very clean. I would stay there again and would recommend it. The only thing missing was the old world charm, of the Germany Guest House, but times moves on and It is what I would have expected from the Holiday Inn organization.

Hotel an guter Lage in Gehdistanz zur Fussgängerzone sowie Stadthalle. Zimmer ok jedoch fehlte einseitig der Nachttisch sowie die Beleuchtung (Neonröhre) war sehr hell. Frühstück war vielfältig jedoch der Bratspeck war nicht in einem Wärmebehälter wie Rührei sondern nur daneben auf einem Teller und somit kalt.

Das Hollyday Inn liegt super zentral neben der Stadthalle und dem Technischen Rathaus, sehr ruhig, schöner Empfangsbereich und Frühstücksbereich und das Zimmer sinnvoll und praktisch eingerichtet, Wasserkocher für Tees, leider keine Minibahr fürs Kaltgetränk, waren bei 33°C in Singen, Klimaanlage sehr leise, super, eine schöne Unterkunft an einem schönen Wochenende.

War alles soweit ok.
Das Frühstück ist sicher ausbaufähig, kaltes Rührei ist nicht i.O.,auch die Aufbackbrötchen sind nicht angemessen.

Mon amie et moi avons très mal dormi avec la literie de l'hôtel, matelas en cuvette, coussin dur et très haut.
Au petit déjeuner, plus de chocolat chaud. Les pains et pancake n'était pas correctement cuit, le sol de la salle à manger était sale, et un verre était cassé..
Très déçu, nous ne reviendrons plus dans un holiday inn
