Let me start with the location. In the heart of Intramuros it was very effective for me as I had something to do around. The check in experience not the service you would expect the check in at 2 pm is understandable but then when you arrive at 1:40 pm and they bush you away and make you wait not expected to have a room but to do the process. The front desk agents not with positive attitude. The whole hotel is old make you feel like a creepy movie. The Ac work great and there’s hot water but the room is in poor conditions for the price not worthy. The bed made me feel dirty all night with the sensation of not being clean, the towels smelled chlorine and good quality something reassuring but the rust and mold in the toilet no. In general a disappointing stay for the price. But having in mind it was efficient in location for me at one night need is just “ok” I would not stay here again now they I know. And I can’t recommend.

Great location for a Faded Rose

The bed was not a mattress, just a box spring and we could feel the springs when lying down. The ceiling in the bathroom leaked, hence the floor was flooded. Add to that, the funk smell was overall.
We asked for another room which was a bit better but not much. Hot water only sporadically and still horrible smell.
Location was great.

The staff were kind and young, the rooms were older and bed was not comfortable! There was no accommodation for parking your vehicle. It’s location is good for site seeing all the old churches and Spaniard buildings or if you need to go to Philippine immigration, not happy with construction work during the night! If I spend the night in Intramuros again I will probably try the Manila Hotel even though it’s much more expensive.

The only good thing good about this hotel is the convenience of being in the middle of all the great spots to visist.
The staff if not very attentive, our room had a constant leak in bathroom sink (that had been there for a li g time....it also got the floors all wet and very slippery. We had no water or toilet paper and only 1 towel for 2 people..you are unable to open window/door to small deck.
Very aged and no repairs are being done...sad because the location is fantastic!

You get what you pay for!! The price is good with a great surroundings of museum, church, fort and parks near by Walking distance to restaurants.
But our room needed much TLC. No water in the room, no toilet paper, sink was leaking and the floor was soaking wet....thank goodness it was just 1 night.

It is in a prime tourist location but the room we were given was filthy. The AC had broken fins on the deflector which meant you could put your hand inside, the bed sagged in the middle, the windows had shutters over them sealed with Sellotape. There was no drinking water in the room and the fridge had been unplugged. No soap, no toilet paper in bathroom.

no elevator! Parking was across the hotel in the church nearby but collects cash payment ( sketchy). Receptionist should give info about nraeby event like the famous cultural dinner show nearby. We are not aware about that we could have swing by and watch it.
No hot water despite the portable switch for hot water on the shower. Its not working.

The location is great. However, there was no hot water available for a shower. Despite a change of room I had the same issue. And at one point there was no water in the shower at all so i had to use the bucket.

Staff spoke limited english and could barely help with recommendations on where to dine and things to do in the area.

first impressions were good - nice looking hotel in a nice area. But it went downhill from there. rooms weren't ready, tv's didn't work, no satellite tv when they did work, average dinner, slow service - all no real bother but the clincher was we had no flowing water for the whole stay - so no showers. they had to bucket up water so we could use the toilet

Oh dear what a shame.....

Extremely disappointing. Stayed for 3 nights with family. My wife and i were in an executive room. Executive it was not. Unable to use shower for the whole 3 days as it spat out no more than a few drips. Reported but made no difference.
Reported a bulb gone at start but it never got changed.
Annoying that every day you have to re-set your key card.
Staff lacking in any gumption and maintenance is really poor.
A hotel with great potential but seriously neglected. What a shame.

The place could use some updates, but the food was quite good and the staff were friendly and efficient.

I would stay there again... and have already recommended the place to out of town friends.

Bad service & overpriced. Will not go back.

We stay 7 nights an were not happy with the Hotel. Here why:

1-at check in (6pm) we weren't given any information. This hotel has some weird rules, example: the door electronic key need to be update every day, even more than once a day otherwise it will not work. The Hotel will provide 1bottle of refill water a day only if they make up the room, to make up the room you need to put a sign outside, for the wifi you need to request at a reception a code that is changing every day. No one of this information was provided

2-the bed is not confortable at all, is too small and soft.

3-the air conditioning is on the floor blowing directly on the bed, even with low fan speed you get a countinous cold air flow. The room was on the 3rd floor under the roof, too hot without AC

4-is impossible to take a good shower: pressure low and water cold

5-the Hotel is noisy, last night before departure at 2am there was a guy cleaning the carpet outside our room. Dragging heavy equipement and listening at some music

6-the Hotel extras are overpriced: as you will need some water you will either buy outside or ask the Reception to send some (bare in mind that the telephone in the room is not working, so you will need to walk 3 floor to do that). One small bottle of water outside cost between 10 to 25 pesos (depending where you buy), in this Hotel was 71 pesos

7-the food at Hotel Restaurant is awful and off course overpriced. Don't eat there

We always stay at the White Knight Hotel when we are in Manila. It's a old-world style, in an old building with charming little courtyards and a sweet rooftop patio. I love the beautiful tropical plants; wish I could grow them at home. The staff is always kind and helpful; great with laundry, dry cleaning, any little thing you need, and our room is always immaculate (thanks April). The onsite restaurant/bar is super convenient; it's so nice not to have to go out onto the street when you're hungry or feel like a drink.

Four words: UNESCO World Heritage Site. That alone makes it worth the trip. If you love history or Spanish colonial architecture, this hotel is a must-visit. The building may look like something out of Pirates of the Caribbean, but it's modern on the inside and has free WiFi as an amenity. The hotel is within walking distance of Ft. Santiago (that's St. James the Greater for all you non-Spanish speakers), which has been under Spanish, British, American, and Japanese control and was the site of the Manila massacre during World War II, and the hotel is also close to San Agustin Church and Museum as well as the Manila Cathedral. I felt as though I got incredible value for the money. Location is this hotel's strongest suit, and the reason I take a vacation is to see sites, not sit around the hotel--that said, this hotel has plenty to do--definitely try the \"electric chariot\" tours.

I loved the white knight intramuros. I live history so the fact that it was near the UNESCO heritage site was a real treat as I usually do enjoy learning a bit about other countries histories. What made it even better was that the architecture of the hotel showed this old charm while still looking classy.

Probably my favorite thing about this hotel is the nostalgic vintage building. The rooms are clean and straightforward with nice amenities like free wi-fi and a minifridge. Room service was available all day and there as a casual restaurant on site. It's within walking distance to some neat heritage sites as well. All in all great value for the reasonable price.

The White Knight Hotel Intramuros is located at the best location in the city. I just became fan of the cleanliness they have at their hotel. You won’t feel like you’re at some hotel as you will feel like at home. Management is super-fast and we don’t have to wait for anything we want. Situated in the heart of Intramuros, the location should be the big selling point here, but it turns out that the hotel is right next to an unemployment office for sailors (!), meaning the neighborhood gives off a distinctly menacing vibe, especially at night. This, combined with the numerous problems with cleanliness we observed (a room presented with absolutely filthy coffee mugs upon check-in, no toilet paper in one room, broken toilet in another, faulty hot water heater in a third, a cockroach, and a disturbingly high number of ants everywhere), means the next time I'm in Intramuros, even their rock-bottom prices probably won't convince me to stay here again :(

This is my favorite hotel in the whole world. Class and comfort at a good price.

The hotel is quite old and although the building complex has a very Spanish vibe to it, it also evokes an eerie feeling when you look out your window and discover the attached structure at the back, almost like Vigan but not quite like it. Because the structure is old, the room is expectedly very traditional with old AC unit, old chandelier and old lampshade. Surprisingly however, everything was working perfectly, including the hair dryer in the bathroom (clap, clap, clap; I left my dryer at home and was already preparing to buy another one but the hotel hair dryer just saved my day) and even the electric heater (and yea, you get fresh packets of coffee and tea everyday).
Perhaps the biggest asset of the hotel however, is its staff - very accommodating, always full of energy and are always ready to extend assistance.
The community however is not very peaceful as it is also home to a couple of Seafarers' Accommodation (and by God, there are just soooo many of them there!). There is also a small eatery near the hotel that serves good and cheap although definitely not the fine dining type. Overall, the experience wasn't bad although I wouldn't say it is excellent but if I have to attend a function in the future near White Knight, I definitely would book again.

We paid for a bath towel that was never there!

We were asked to pay for a \"missing towel\". Reception was saying there were 3 towels in the room, when there were really only two when we checked-in. The rooms are all for double occupany, so how can they put 3 towels in our room??? We ended up paying for that imaginary 3rd towel, otherwise they will not allow us to check-out!

Disappointed on their BREAKFAST

The breakfast was great and the room ambiance was good. I have no comment on the room and bath on the hotel except for the breakfast when we ask for the receipt for 3 person. Each of our order are not over ₱300 pesos (see the photo I attached on this comment) well except for the tax here Manila of course they have it. I'm very displeased on how they charge me for 3 person on breakfast for ₱1,372.50 pesos (see the photo receipt)... well this is my first check in, in The White Knight Hotel since the place was kinda scary because of the tambay it's not very safe like Davao's Hotel there. Some employee are friendly and courtesy and some are not. I think they base on your appearances on how they greet you as costumer. My rating on this hotel was standard because this is not even 3.5 star hotel that you can stay in for even 3 nights. I suggest that even reading their full detail on websites read also other pros and cons ratings and comment.

The staff was friendly. However our room was on the street side and had no windows - I assume they had been boarded up for noise reasons. We only stayed one night so didn't mind too much but I wouldn't have wanted to spend much longer in there.

Staff was very helpful and booked an early cab for us to go back to the airport.

It was awesome overall but in the last day of our stay, there were few cockroaches in our room. Otherwise, the way they maintain cleanliness like daily cleaning and change of towels, its good. Staffs are very friendly and accommodating. They even printed my boarding pass. The cable TV reception is not good and not much choice of channels to choose from. For English movies, theres only HBO and Fox movies. Wish they could offer more channels and a better reception. Most channels are foggy. Complimentary wifi is just 2 days out of 5 days we stayed. Should be daily wifi.

Tricky to find, but unique in many ways

If you were not watching, you would miss the street for the hotel. Most of the time we had to have driver stop at the top of the block because the street was a one way very thin street.
The hotel itself was always very clean and the staff was always very kind.
The location was unique as it was near a church and other restaurants near by as well as an 'old town' feel around the hotel as well.

If you like old colonial houses and want to stay in Intramuros, then it is a good option. I saw a rat at daylight on the backyard but I guess that can happen in an old place like that area of the city. The room was fine and the old house is kind of interesting. Barbara's, the heritage restaurant next door is kind of pricey for Manila but a worthy experience.

The hotel is very commendable for those who wants to be transported back during the Spanish era... The place is a heritage site. Lots of history in it. The hotel staff, hallways and room cleanliness is good and has retain that spanish touch with grand staircase. But not suitable for elderly and with joint problem because they don't have elevator. It is only a three-storey hotel with only staircase and no elevator. Quite dufficult going up especially after doing shopping.

White Knight Intramuros

My wife and I have stayed at the White Knight several times over the past year or so and generally it has been a good base of operations while we stayed in Manila. This past visit was no different with one important exception. The rooms are clean and with the WiFi easy to stay in. The staff are friendly and attentive. It's location in the center of Intramuros makes it easy to reach anything of interest in the center of Manila. The one exception is that you must take all money and valuables with you whenever you leave your room even when you lock your door. We had 2000 pisos disappear from our interior desk early one Sunday morning when we went for an early morning walk. It had to have been a hotel staff member as we locked our door prior to leaving and were only gone 30 minutes. We notified the hotel management and were told that they would investigate. However, we are still out 2000 pisos. So with this in mind, my wife and I will not be returning there again.

A Great Find in the Middle of Intramuros

I was extremely surprised to find a place like this in the middle of Intramuros. I had business to conduct at the Bureau of Immigration and it was the right place for the right price. Walking distance to the Bureau. Spacious room with a Spanish era feel and with necessary amenities found in pricier hotels. Great stay!

The front desk service was terrible, down right rude. Any other members of staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful, but the woman who checked us in treated us very poorly and was disrespectful. She ignored requests and questions. When we asked for a receipt for our room deposit (which was rather high given the price to stay in the room) she looked at me like I had two heads, basically refused to do one, and then finally hand wrote a note 15 minutes after.

Lovely building full of old world charm. Situated close to many historic attractions. All within walking distance. Is situated right in a very ppor residential area, which might be daunting.

Had a local band playing on the terrace each night. One of the few things to do at night in Intramuros.

Having gone around the Philippines for the past 20 years, I have seen good and bad hotels.I was more than happy with my stay at the White Knight hotel and can only say for the price, location and hotel standards it is high on my list. I have to visit Manila again in the new year and will be booking a room there for sure.

The only bad thing is a very noisy a/c in our 308 number. Over all 4 for it's too noisy. The hotel is in a center of Intramuros. 7/11s are available in few hundred meters. Wi-Fi was good, but not all access points were working some time.

Good historic hotel, interesting location

The hotel is old colonial style with high ceilings and wide stairways. The rooms are also large but some on the upper floor do not have windows or balconies as advertised. Intramuros is great for a couple of days, but I wouldn't stay longer. It is a poor neighbourhood and while the locals are friendly and I felt safe wandering the streets at night, it is a bit of an eye-opener if you have not travelled much. There are many young kids begging for money, people use the footpath as a toilet, and if you want to stay in a clean, sanitised neighbourhood then go to Makati. Overall it was ok if you want to explore historic Intramuros but there are better value hotels in central Manila.

I really enjoyed staying in this hotel. It is centrally situated - so a short walk to many places of interest. It's a recommendation that the hotel is not in a business district so one gets some sense of how people live and work in Manila. The service was great and I wanted for nothing. The only drawback was that my room was a bit noisy at times given that there was a courtyard outside where people came and went at all hours. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Nice stay!

The hotel was really nice, decorated in a colonial style. The rooms were a little outdated but it was very comfortable and clean. The staff was really nice and helpful. The location was pretty nice being inside the old walled city. However, it is a bit far from Mall of Asia and other touristic locations, specially during traffic hours.

Reasonable hotel for Manila

Pretty good for Manila standards ;-) The Hotel is located in the historic Intramuros district and is quite old. We ended up on the top floor which has a very low ceiling so if you're taller than 5' 10\" ask for a lower floor. The hotel doesn't have any elevators however the staff are very helpful and carried our bags up and down the stairs. We also left our luggage with them for several days without and extra charges while we travelled off to Coron Island. The only downside is that the location has lots of squatters living in the surrounding streets which may be an issue for some travellers. While it didn't worry us too much going out at night could be a bit intimidating for some.

Nice hotel, but watch for the extra charges

When we tried to check in, we told them we had reserved a room via expedia.

The woman on the front desk told us there was an additional 1900 peso \"expedia fee\" due.

I disagreed and produced my printout of the expedia itinerary which indicated I had already paid in full.

great location for history and culture

This hotel is a fair deal for the price and excellent for the location. My travel philosophy is not to cocoon too much in the comfort of a hotel that isolates you from the community. This hotel is situated in the old historic Intramuros district of Manila and makes it easy to step outside the hotel for some interesting strolls. Just outside the walls of Intramuros is the old fort where national hero Jose Rizel was executed and inside, the fort has a good Rizel exhibit. The hotel has a small restaurant with decent food and staff willing to please. Our room was a bit dark and had a tiny window.

Best hotel in Intramuros

This deserves to be one of the most popular hotels in Manila. It's not fancy and they don't pretend it is, but it's in a beautiful complex of buildings, right in the heart of Intramuros and beside the UNESCO world heritage site of San Agustin church.

Welcome to Intramuros

We love this hotel because of its location. Intramuros is my favorite spot in Manila, and we love to walk the cobblestone streets of the old walled city, see the old-style Spanish architecture, visit museums and Fort Santiago. The hotel staff is always terrific, the food is good, and the hotel has a certain charm. It's an old hotel with a lot of character, and the rooms are comfortable.
